My name is Amberlee and I am a self-proclaimed “wallflower.” I am an introvert with small bursts of extroverted-ness. I have often been described as a “popular loner,” I know a lot of people, yet I don’t have a lot of friends. As I am stepping out of high school and into the real world, I thought it was about time I shared the realities of my life: the funny stories, the saddest moments, and the happiest memories, talking with some of my close friends and family along the way. I can't wait to get out of my comfort zone and try new things. This is Words From a Wallflower.
In this short episode I respond to a listener's question, while simultaneously discussing the feasibility of having one singular soulmate and how our "friends" can change. What do you think? How do you answer the question "What do you want to be when you grow up?" Has your answer evolved over time? For me, I've struggled with my answer to this question, considering careers in medicine, education, and the restaurant industry. Society puts a lot of pressure on us to know what we want to do with our lives. But, maybe it's okay to change your mind. Spoiler Alert: I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up.

School lunch. To some, it's a dream, but to others, a total nightmare. This episode dives in to the truth about that 38-minute lunch block and how impactful it can be when you're an outsider in every "friend" group, and how "fitting in" is not all it's made out to be. I'm not going to lie, this episode was a bit of a tear-jerker for me, as silly as it sounds, "but it's the truth. And sometimes the truth is sad."
