Mausum Sharma is a young and inspirational upcoming author with the pen name Mousum which stands for the elegant expression- “Messenger of Love” in his native language.
Born on 18th April 1986 in the north eastern state of Meghalaya, to Dr. M.K. Sarma and Mrs. Sabita Sharma, he completed his Junior High from Sainik School, Goalpara and Senior High from B.S.F. Senior Secondary School.
He later graduated from one of the premier college Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra and is currently been working in the IT industry for the last 8 years. Currently he is with Tata Consultancy Services in Pune, Maharashtra with whom he has served for almost 6 years.
During his boarding school days, with his peers and friends of diverse background and interests, he learned the true meaning and value of brotherhood. His school was located amidst a lush green forest which fostered his interest in trekking, rock climbing and photography. He is an avid trekker and has attended a rock-climbing camp in the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Darjeeling.
He is an avid believer of the quote - ‘A dreamer is one who can only find his way by moonlight, and his punishment is that he sees the dawn before the rest of the world.’ His dream is to share the beauty of our country through his photography skills and his unconventional style of writing.
His books “Geeta: A life with no Existence” is a part of his Psychological triology series consisting of “Geeta: A life with no Existence”, “Amell : Born to Live in The Shadows” and finally “Alena : Revenge of the Tainted Soul” The 3 books are a part of his psychological trilogy series which has been named as “THE KING OF MY TEENAGE HEART”
His childhood was filled with thrills and adventures and the delightful company of his friends helped him gain the directions he always wanted.
His times spend during his Junior High days in Sainik School, Goalpara, and his Senior High days in B.S.F. Senior Secondary School helped in convert his artistic imagination into short composition which under the constant encouragement of his mother, helped to get them published in local newspapers like The Meghalaya Guardian and The Sentinel.
The gentle encouragement of his teachers like Mrs. J. S. Baruah, Mr. P.K. Jena, Mr. Balbir Masih and Mrs. Binapani Sharma, who helped instilled a renewed confidence and self-belief in this young talent. Later, in his teenage years, in Class XI, he was encouraged by his English teacher Manjuri Biswas and his 2 favourite teachers Mr. J.P. Pandey and Mr. Udayan Sashmal to author a play which was short listed and selected for the annual function.
Mousum currently lives with his beautiful better half Suryasika in the beautiful town of Pune.
