Welcome to Woven. In this podcast, we break down health and wellness into three different components: mind, body, and spirit. By creating a life centered around these concepts, you will learn how to empower yourself. Those changes will not only be reflected in you but in every other aspect of your life.
The victim mentality is toxic. There, I said it. It is a social epidemic that has plagued our society. I know this because I've experienced it.
For years, I defined myself as the victim. Life threw things at me, and everything was out of my control. I would blame others for my pain while completely neglecting the fact that I never truly dealt with the trauma in my life that was causing this mindset.
I am here to talk about how breaking free from this dangerous mindset is liberating and how it has the ability to change your perspective of the world in the best way possible.
Today, I am joined with Kelsey Henricks. In this week's episode, Kelsey takes us through her life story and the many obstacles she has had to overcome. From growing up in the foster care system, navigating the challenges of high school, and moving all the way across the country to find herself, we are hitting it all!
I think that many people can relate to parts of Kelsey's story and the struggles she has faced within her lifetime. It was such a pleasure to sit down with her and listen to all she had to say. Enjoy this week's extra long episode!

We love our comfort zone. We feel safe and secure. It's good to have this little safe haven, but what happens when we refuse to leave it?
I will be the first to say that I don't like being uncomfortable and because of that, I will minimize the chance of this happening as much as possible. But this causes me to miss out on new experiences, meet new people, and discover new things about myself.
In today's episode, we discuss whyand how we can leave our comfort zone in order to grow into the version of ourselves that we desire.
Hello friends!
Let's talk about self-doubt. This is something we have all faced in our lives at one point or another. But I don't think we realize the immense impact it can have on our lives if this becomes a daily thing.
I want to break down why we have self-doubt and the real , negative effects it has on our lives.

We live in a world where disagreement often turns aggressive. We can easily make character assumptions, harbor anger, or completely write a person off when they don't agree with an opinion we hold.
But I think we are missing a major piece to this puzzle with the fact that disagreement can actually be a great & beautiful thing. We live in a world with billions of people, each of whom are unique. We aren't going to agree on everything, but it's important to learn why this isn't inherently a bad thing.
Today, I discuss the good that can come from disagreement & how it can actually foster healthy relationships.

Technically, I've been "in recovery" from my eating disorder for about 2 1/2 years at this point.
We always hear that phrase, "in recovery." Maybe you've heard it in reference to ex-alcoholics, no matter how long they've been sober. Or maybe ex-addicts, even though they have been drug free for decades. Both medical & mental health professionals alike have come to this consensus- you will always be in recovery, not recovered, no matter how long ago your last relapse was.
I am here to say why this is not true & why & how full recovery is possible. While that definition may vary from person to person, the idea still exists. Whether you have anxiety, depression, a form of addiction, or any other demon in your life, you are able to rid yourself of them for good. Being "in recovery" does not have to be your destiny.

I think the one thing that all of society can actually agree on is the fact that weight is always a touchy subject. It's just not something you talk about with others unless they are apart of your close friends or family. Even then you can be treading rocky waters.
I had an encounter at the gym with an individual who did just this. And man, it's like he knew just where to hit me. In full transparency, this hurt me more than I wished it had. He confirmed every thought I had in my mind in regards to my body image, and because of this, my insecurities were solidified.
I want to talk about why it is not appropriate to comment/talk about other people's weight & bodies. Coming from someone who suffered with a sever eating disorder in college, I feel like I have a lot of insight into this area. I also want to talk about something even more important and something I wish I had put into practice sooner- the important of healthy coping mechanisms & forgiveness.
Hope that everyone has a fantastic week. I will see you guys soon for a brand new episode <3

New years is stressful. Many of us adopt this toxic "new year, new me" mentality that forces us into this sort of all or nothing mindset that can actually hinder your progress towards your goals much more than help it.
For me, January 1st was spent quarantining, meaning I had to put a lot of my goals on the back burner. I felt like I was off track before 2022 even hit.
Maybe you're in the same position. New Years day was almost two weeks ago & you have done nothing to chase after this year's goals. This is your remind that it's OKAY. We still have a whole year left ahead of us.
Today's episode I am talking about how to get back on track when you have fallen off your routine & how to maintain a positive perspective going into this year.
Guys, I''m stressed. I feel like my world is caving in on me, and I have too much to do and not enough hours in the day. But am I going to go crawl into a ball and cry and not do anything about it? NO, because that is not how we are meant to handle stress.
It's easy to resort to unhealthy methods of dealing w/ stress, but it's important to realize that those "quick fixes" are just that- non-permanent solutions to an issue that will never go away until you learn to face it.
In today's episode, I am giving some tips and tricks on how to deal with your stress in not just healthy ways but ways that will actually eliminate those stressors in your everyday life.
Friends sure do make the world go 'round. But are the friendships that you are investing in helping or hindering your growth? It can be hard to determine whether or not a certain relationship is worth the time so let me help you out with that one.
Today, I am going through my "Six Green Flags" that you should have in every, single friendship (aka, if you have a friendship that is missing one of these, might be time to either cut ties or not let them take up so much space in your life).
Follow, download, like, share, skip, jump, hop, etc, etc....I'm starting to sound like a broken record.
It's about that time again! Another year getting ready to wrap up while we are anticipating the start to a new one. But before we try to leave 2021 too quickly, we need to remember that we still got some work to do.
New year's resolutions- you heard of them? Yeah, yeah, I know, you all just rolled your eyes (as you should) because of how cliché that word is. Today, I want to talk about why resolutions never end up being committed to, how we can implement real change in our lives next year, and why it's important to continuously be setting goals.
Love y'all! Make sure to share, follow, and download (:
Hello friends! Hoping that everyone had a phenomenal Thanksgiving.
In this week's episode, I have my mother here with me to have a real chat about what it is like to have someone close to you who struggles with a mental illness. For years, she has had to watch many people she loves dearly struggle with internal battles from the sidelines.
We talk about how to support those people in your life who may be facing their own demons, how it affects a relationship, and the importance of never giving up on those around you.
As always, like, share, follow, etc. Those small things do make a big difference (:
See you all next Wednesday!
Happy Wednesday, friends!
Many of us tend to think that perfection is what we should strive for, the ultimate gold standard. But I think that this is something that society romanticizes far too often. A big part of perfectionism is being overly critical on yourself, which can eventually lead into this cynical cycle of self-hatred.
Today, I talk about what perfectionism is, signs that you may be a perfectionist in a certain area of your life, and tools on how to overcome these thoughts and behaviors.
HAVE A GREAT THANKSGIVING!! I am thankful for all of you <3
Imma be honest, in today's episode, I'm all over the place, but what's new? Also, you might hear my thermostat in the background so I'm sorry but a biss was freezing.
Today, I discuss why motivation is essentially useless and will get you nowhere if you continually rely upon it. When it comes to achieving your goals, it comes down to two things: action & discipline.
Yoooooooooo. Whaddup shawties. Hope everyone had a great weekend!
Today, we are talking about passion. I know that can be a very complex and intimidating topic to a lot of people but it's because it is so important. If you live a passionless life, what's the point? We all need to have that one (or multiple) thing(s) that we truly care about. And I think it is just as important to have this passion translate into the workplace
I am discussing how to find your passion, why having a job that you are passionate about it important, and in the end, how to live a satisfying and fulfilling life.
As always, like, download, follow, and share! Y'all are the best <3
Hello friends! I'm very excited for this week's episode because I have a special guest joining us.
Sherri Bowald is a licensed psychiatrist who recently opened up her own practice, Captive Set Free Psychiatry. This is Telehealth Medication, meaning that all sessions are conducted virtually from the comfort of your own home.
Sherri and I discuss the importance of viewing our health in a holistic sense, not just taking care of our physical health, but also our mental and spiritual. While medication is a great tool, we personally do not believe that this is a permanent solution when it comes to tending to our mental health. We need to remember that real emotional work needs to be done to heal.
If you are interested in Sherri's services, please check out her website!

Okay, this episode is coming out a bit later this week, but better late than never, am I right?!
People love to give their own two cents on how you're living your life, whether or not you asked. And for the longest time, I never knew how to stand on my own two feet and do my own thing without the fear of facing rejection from others. But I came to realize that this was only hurting me and preventing me from living out my life the way that I wanted.
Today, I am discussing how I was able to stop caring about people's opinions of me and learning to distinguish which sources of external feedback we should take into consideration.
Today, I have my younger sister, Lexi, joining me today. This was the first time I have gotten to see her in 2 YEARS!! She has been living abroad, experiencing things that many people never will in their entire lifetime.
We discuss big life changes, how to adjust, living with a chronic illness, and the importance of personal growth.
As always, make sure to download and follow Woven, as well as share on social media. I am so appreciative of the continued love and support from you all!
Heyyyoooo
So I've had a lot on my mind these past couple weeks. I've been struggling with some things, and I wanted to share it with you all. It isn't always easy for. me to talk about the not so pretty things that I go through, but I recognize that vulnerability is such a vital aspect to a healthy relationship with others and especially yourself.
We are going to be hitting on the impact that vulnerability has to transform every single part of your lives. It has been a JOURNEY for me to learn how to be real and authentic, but I hope that by the end of this episode, y'all can see how it can change you in the best way possible.

Habits make up so many of our decisions. They are so engrained in our minds that we do perform them subconsciously. This is why it is important to have healthy habits.
I used to have many toxic habits in my life that took years for me to break and did much more damage on my mental and physical health than I realized in those moments. But as of the last year or so, I have been determined to create an environment that breeds creativity, productivity, and motivation. I did this by ditching those old, damaging habits and creating new ones.
If you want to hear what they are, make sure to give this episode a listen.
I am someone who used to let my fear of disappointment prevent me from trying many things in life, even if they were things that I really wanted. Over time, I learned how detrimental that was not only to my mental health but also to my personal growth.
In today's episode, I am going to be giving you six tips that helped me overcome this fear and live my best life possible.
As always, thank you for your continued love and support. You guys are the best!
We all have goals. And with those goals comes the inevitable roadblocks. Maybe things don't go according to plan or you have lost motivation. Whatever those factors may be, we have to PUSH through those mindsets.

I am guilty of not giving myself enough rest time. I have that go, go, go personality, and I often find it difficult to give myself just time to relax. In this week's episode, I am going to be talking about WHY rest is so important and different tips on how to actually enjoy relaxing.
Everyone can find themselves in a mental rut at some point in their life. Sometimes the monotony of a routine can wear on us and cause us to burn out.
If I'm being honest, I've been stuck in one of these mindsets for the last month. Today I am going to be giving you (and myself) some advice on how to get out of your head and change your perspective.

Hello friends.
So I'm going to be honest, today's episode is sort of all over the place. I have a tendency to go off on tangents, and this episode is a perfect example of that. But my main point behind this week's segment is to live your life for YOURSELF. Stop listening to society and others about what they think is best for you life, and start living for yourself. I hope that you guys enjoy!
