I’m back, and I'm in that Damien Rice phase that pops in from time to time. This is my stripped back acoustic version of this classic song.

If your are not familiar with this, it is all about the difficulties of being in love; being with someone but loving another. Not to say that I’m in a love triangle or anything of that sort – I’m really happily married, hi loves! - but more of the love for the song and the artist who I admire very much.

The song speaks about the biblical view, or more specifically the Catholic version of the ninth commandment, on infidelity and how it is perceived by the church. In it the person deals with guilt of loving another person while in a relationship, and how emotionally taxing it is. Although it is open to interpretation, it talks about one of those tales we hear throughout the years of couples we know personally, and maybe celebrities who have fallen out of love and/or was not able to resist the temptation of committing a “crime” against their partner.

Lisa Hannigan lends her wonderful voice to this hauntingly familiar theme in human relations, which I loved very much. Her voice matches the emotion and depth of Damien Rice', especially in their back and forth followed by the beautiful harmonies.

That’s it for now. My extended cough and colds is almost over, thank God, so I hope to be able to do more covers. Thanks for dropping by and checking out this short acoustic cover of this iconic song.

Love and peace.

First time I got to record myself playing the guitar and singing. Still have a mild cough and cold, but all is good. Not sure about the sound / video quality since I just filmed, trimmed, created a cover image on Canva, then uploaded; no editing done. Just trimmed the ends. Playing wasn't perfect yet so I will need to resume practicing. Still, I do hope you enjoy this video. All the best and have a great weekend ahead! @juanvegetarian

I was trying to figure out how to improve the sound of my recording on mobile when my wife came to tell a story about how the puppies at her workplace all followed the breaktime siren. I though it was perfect to include this in my upload for today. Breaks the monotony of the video. So, this is another acoustic cover that I made. The song is Di Na Muli, originally sung by Itchyworms in 2018. It became the theme song of the movie Sid & Aya sung by Janine Tenoso (I did this version as well) was used in the movie along with the original band's version. Please forgive the errors, I'm still bad at playing, but I still hope you all enjoy. Thanks and have a good day! @Juanvegetarian

Note: I deleted the original video and reuploaded an edited version.

This is a cover of the song The Climb by Miley Cyrus. It's been a while since I've uploaded any content on the platform and I had some free time to put together this short song cover. I did not edit the audio recording. It's not the best quality there is but it's the best that I can do with the limitations of using a mobile phone. Hope I can get some decent AV equipment soon while I'm still doing my guitar practice sessions. Thanks for dropping by everyone. Love and peace! @juanvegetarian

In this upload, I played Jessie's J's Price Tag (Maddie Jane version). Sorry about the long pause in the middle of the song. I was looking for the lyrics. LOL. This wasn't perfect but I'm still happy with it considering that I just used my cellphone to do the recording. I messed up some lyrics and chords, so sorry about that, but thankful for still listening. Hope you are all dry and warm these days. The rain seems determined to water the earth. Love and peace!

Just to continue with my music journey, I've uploaded this practice session with me playing Coldplay's The Scientist. I definitely missed a few chords and messed up some lyrics, but I'm hoping to get better with each upload. Also, I have limited time to practice before recording but it's not really a good excuse. So I'm hoping for your patience and grateful for the kindness. All the best! @juanvegetarian

I recently restringed my guitar after a long hiatus and wanted to practice. My dog joined in near the end of the video; maybe he's thinking that his howl was better than my singing. Sorry for the lousy guitar playing. I'm like a beginner again and learning how to play. Thanks in advance for your patience and for listening. All the best! @juanvegetarian

Hello again! It was a rainy day so the air was cool and nice; the sun was able to penetrate the cloudy skies for only a short period of time. So today, I will be doing my pack opening. Hopefully, everything goes well and smoothly, but before that, here are my current player stats.

My Player Stats I am now at Level 43 with 77,139 Starbits in my in-game wallet.

| Fans | Luck | Skill | IM | Cards | | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | | 445 | 138 | 1517 | 10 | 19 |

Road to 1 Million I chose not to buy 1 Million Starbits outright and just play to earn, which is probably more fun. It is pointless to get the Starbits Millionaire Card without being able to use it on missions because I just started playing the game a couple of weeks ago, and I have not yet reached level 50 and gathered 1,000 fans - a requirement to do missions with this very special card. That said, I might start buying again once I near the level 50 mark.

Pack Opening For today's opening, lady luck sent me the following cards:

| Card #1: R206 Rick | Card #2: i76 Talking Drum | Card #3: 88 MC Geezer | | --- | --- | --- | | | | | | Market price: 7,625 starbits | Market price: 230 starbits | Market price: 400 starbits | | 125 Fans, 75 Skill, 3 Luck, 2 IM | 1 Luck | *5 Fans, 5 Skills. |

The first card that showed itself is the R206 Rick, which is a rare card with more fans than skills. This is the first R206 that I opened so I am happy with that. The next was an i76 Talking Drum, which I already have. And, last but not the least, an 88 MC Geezer, which had an equal number of fans vs skills. 😁

The total market price for the cards: 8,255 Starbits.

Finally I am happy that I was able to transfer out some of the Starbits from the in-game wallet to Hive Engine and open a pack. Hoping to open more packs in the coming days and adding better cards into my collection.

I guess that's it for now. Thank you very much for dropping by and reading my #gaming post. #risingstargame is an awesome #play2earn game here on the #HIVE platform and one that I really enjoy playing. Keep safe and stay healthy.

Love and peace!

Hello Hive Family and RSG players!

Updates, Stats, and Preferences Today's blog post is about my ongoing quest to reach that elusive 1 million Starbits mark that I've set as a goal for myself in the game. As it stands, I currently have 214,904 Starbits tokens (41,742 in-game and 173,162 on Hive Engine). I have opened the Local Gig Circuit but have not yet done a mission in that Zone as I have been focusing more on Hometown gigs, for now. I have realized also that the Midweek Headline Slot, Saturday Support, and Saturday Headline gives more XP than the Music Lessons and Starbits rewards to boot, I prefer doing those missions whenever I have enough fans and if the energy level is up.

So, with the goal of increasing Fans and doing more Saturday missions, I plan to get another Energy Boost with a Cold Pizza Slice and open another pack (fingers crossed 🤞🤞). As usual, I will share here a video of the process and a reveal of the cards I will get from the pack opening. All of this within the time frame of one Illegal Busking mission for brevity. Hope you all enjoy watching! 😊

For some reason, the internet seems awfully slow today so I wasn't able to purchase the Cold Pizza Slice for the video. Still got to open a pack though but I ended the video hoping for a better connection, which did not happen. Got me thinking about the importance of the internet connection in the connected world. Hopefully, I will have better connection the next video.

So, I will end here. Thanks for watching. Love and peace!

Time Flies Quickly When You Are Having Fun It has been four weeks of grinding and I'm still enjoying this game. Rising Star Game had me entertained and hooked from day one, so here I am now with my 7th blog post about the game - my #luckyseven post.

I am really excited that I was able to level up another step; currently at level 37 but I'd love to move up faster than I've done so during the past four weeks. So, for today (or tonight wherever you may be), I'm going to open another pack, but before that, my stats:

My Player Stats I am now at Level 37 with 25,723 Starbits in my in-game wallet and 70,106 tokens on Hive Engine for a total of: 95,829 Starbits so far. I have 13 cards not including the ones I will open; which will become 16 with the newly opened cards.

| Fans | Luck | Skill | IM | Cards | | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | | 181 | 124 | 1025 | 2 | 13 |

I feel good about the numbers since I haven't really spent much on the game. I'm also getting anxious about moving faster and reaching my goal of 1M Starbits, which had me thinking about taking a "shortcut" and just buying up the remaining Starbits needed to make it an even 1 million. LOL.

That said, I'm writing this before I opening the pack I will buy, so I'll take a look at what chance has in store for me at this moment - wish me luck. 🤞

Luck picks the cards, but you are the one who decides what to do next. #createyourdestiny

For today's pack opening, I got the following cards:

| Card #1: i80 Triangle | Card #2: i76 Talking Drum | Card #3: R185 Barber Shop Quartet | | --- | --- | --- | | | | | | Market price: 355 starbits | Market price: 239 starbits | Market price: 10,849 starbits | | 5 Luck | 1 Luck | *175 Fans, 175 Skills, 4 Luck, 4 IM. |

As usual, I got two Common Cards and a Rare one. I'm really happy to get the R185. It is the best card I've gotten from opening packs so far, and the first time that the market price of the cards I opened exceeded the price I had to pay for the pack. 😁

Total Market Price for the 3 Cards: 11,443 Starbits

As it turned out, lady luck did not disappoint for this #luckyseven post I'm making. Specifically, the R185 will help me play more Saturday Headline missions to increase the number of Starbits earnings per mission, which is great news.

As usual, the cards picked by luck for me are listed above. What is different for this opening is that I feel more confident about the game moving forward, about really going for the 1 million Starbits and applying for that alluring Starbits Millionaire Card. What do you guys think? Should I go for it and just scoop up some on Hive Engine or just keep on playing and earning until I reach the 1 million total?

Anyways, I'm extremely satisfied with today's pack opening and progress in the game. I was also fortunate enough to get to play my first Saturday Headline with the help of the cards from this pack. I guess this is all just coincidence, with a little nudge from lady luck, but still happy with the outcome. After all, having fun is the goal of the game and earning from it is just a bonus, right?

That's it for now. Until next time, everyone. Love and peace.

Hello Hive nation!

So good to be back and making a video about my progress in the Rising Star Game. I have made some small steps in my knowledge about on-screen recording, editing, and uploading so that's a small victory for me, too.

In today's video, I played my first game mission since reaching level 15 and seeing the Ego meter at the upper left-hand corner beside the energy level that it almost seems surreal. On the other hand, I'm very happy that I have already reached this level in such a short amount of time and with just four cards (2 pizza boxes and 2 cold slice pizzas).

It just goes to show that it isn't impossible to progress at a fast pace even with only a small amount of money invested into the game.

I decided to try my luck at opening a pack, which I have not yet done before. I'm thinking of the many possibilities; getting rare and epics will be a bonus! So, I only spent 24,600 starbits and 3.22 Hive for the four cards (roughly 10.5 Hive in total or Php392 here in the Philippines), which is still cheap considering that this is a play-2-earn game and that I will have the opportunity to "earn" it back in a short period of time.

Card Pack Opening 1. 83 Nick (common)

This comon card has 10 fans, 5 skills, and a market value of 750 starbits.

2. 81 Pierre (common)

This common card also has 10 fans, 5 skills, and a lower 615 starbits market price.

3. R197 RS Pro Distortion (Rare)

The rare one in the pack was this R197 RS Pro Distortion with 50 luck.

Considering that I don't have anything aside from the pizza box and cold slice pizzas, these three are most welcome in my collection.

That's it for now. Thanks for dropping by and checking out my blog post. Love and peace.

Light bulb moment early in the morning

Image by @vannour from Stock Images.

I got up early today and hopped on over in a Discord group and my friend @tpkidkai was still awake. He said he was rendering a video (probably for his podcast with hundreds of subscribers!), which got me thinking about a project that I had in my mind for a few weeks now.

So, the idea is to do my own vlog about playing the Risign Star Game. Why this game? Well, why not? I have been seeing a lot of posts uploaded in different communities about it and thought that it would be fun to give it a go. I also know that it was "free" to play so that is a plus. I get to play, earn some tokens, and create content while having fun.

I know that TP was playing it so I asked for a few tips. Basically, he suggested that I buy 2 pizza boxes, buy packs if I believe in luck, buy cards from the market, grind, and do the missions that my energy allows. So much for free to play. LOL. Not actually "free", but I understand. The game economy also needs paying customers. If not, it won't be as fun as it needs to be. And the game owners and developers won't be as motivated to make it an even better game.

Fast forward, 15 minutes later and I'm trying to figure out how to record my screen. It wasn't the easiest of tasks with the "free" video editing software, but I was able to do it. Whew.

Please be kind as regards the quality, but I hope to get lots of good feedback (and upvotes!😁) from the first video I will create about the game. I hope you watch until the end. Thanks and have a fantastic day.

Love and peace.

PS. I still had some Hive from powering down so I thought that this can be a good investment, especially because the market is down. Stay tuned for my next video about how I bought some cards.
