As we come to the end of the body of the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus speaks strong words of frank warning to be sober and cautious about who you allow to influence and shape your vision for life and understanding of what is true, good, and real.
There is a striking phrase in the last line of the body of the Sermon on the Mount that gets to the essence of our purpose for existence. “I never knew you…depart from me…” Matthew 7:23
Nearing the end of His Visionary Manifesto for Life, Jesus prepares us for sober action with the truth that there are two paths you can take in life: The Easy way, that leads to destruction. The Hard way, that leads to LIFE. Which will you choose, each day?

Jesus’ goal for us ALL is to grow (through communion with Him and community with others) to have mountain-moving faith.
What does it look like to keep believing that mountains will move when it hasn’t happened yet?
One of the ways that God’s “power is made perfect in weakness” is through bringing our weakness of identity to God, until we leave with a re-newed identity, from HIM.
Building on last week’s message, we see in the life of Abram and Sarai the Kingdom weakness and strength principle: Acknowledge and confront your weakness, so that the power of God’s presence makes you strong.
Building on last week’s message, we see in the life of Abram and Sarai the Kingdom weakness and strength principle: Acknowledge and confront your weakness, so that the power of God’s presence makes you strong.
Quite surprisingly, one of the key ways we can seek God’s powerful presence is through confronting weakness.

The 5th commandment has broad application… God designed the body of Christ to be an extended spiritual family (where “family” is redeemed when needed) so that we can again give and receive the blessings of parents and children.
God promises blessing when we intentionally posture our hearts with humility to receive the good that our earthly parents and “spiritual parents” have to offer.
God has an amazing promise for parents: when we stay deeply connected to him and walk authentically and passionately with Jesus, we WILL raise GIANTS in the land.

As we move now toward the commandments that display our love for God, through the way we love others; we take a challenging look into our own culture and hearts.
Sabbath is not a new command, rather it’s built into part of God’s good created order. Sabbath is a rhythm of life that demonstrates we were made to live life FROM communion with God.
God’s 3rd command is about being authentic in your relationship with God. No facades, no pretending, no faking, just an honest and genuine relationship. THAT is not in vain.
Digging into the 1st and 2nd commandments, we face one of the primary questions about love and obedience: what does it look like to put God 1st in everything?
