This episode we all get together for our Christmas episode! Hope you all enjoy and have a wonderful Christmas!
We start this weeks episode by paying tribute to Lucy John. Tragically, a few weekends ago, the Triathlon community lost one of its own. Lucy, a member with Pen Y Bont Tri & Tondu Wheelers was involved in a collision with a car whist riding her bike, resulting in her losing her life. A statement from Pen Y Bont tri said -
“Lucy had all the qualities you could ever hope to have. She was fiercely determined, enthusiastic and was dedicated to every aspect of her life. Family, work, friends, coaching and training. We have been inundated with messages relaying peoples memories of Lucy and each of them are example of what a truly incredible, inspirational and helpful person that she was. To say she will be missed is an understatement.”
Lucy who was only 35, was a mum, wife, a daughter. No one should ever go for a Sunday ride and not come home. Our thoughts and prays are with Lucy’s family, friends and club mates.
Some of us attended Porthcawl Parkrun on Saturday morning to show our support. In times like these, the whole triathlon community pulls together and rallies around each other and its so good to see, so thank you to all the triathlon clubs who turned up in Lucys memory. Its also amazing to see the many posts of athletes out riding their bikes on social media, to raise awareness of Safer Cycling. #SheWasJustRidingHerBike
Pen y Bont Tri and Tondu Wheelers have setup a Just Giving page to help support Lucys family during these difficult times. Please donate if you can. The link can be found on Pen y Bont social media platforms.

We make the Draw for the Free IronMan place, talk about our last podcast with Nathan Ford ( What a legend ) and generally chat about some of the upcoming races and the season which is literally just around the corner.
This episode is a pretty special one!
We sit down with Nathan Ford who most of you know primarily for his talent and performances but more recently perhaps because of what he's gone through as a result of his crash in Aberfeldy during the British Middle Distance Championships. We were lucky to share a beer with Nathan and catch up on how he's getting on.
Nathan is so open and honest with his current situation and it was extremely humbling to listen to him talk so open and honestly about where he's at and what the future will look like.
We hope you enjoy this episode as much as we did, it really was an honour to chat to Nathan and it's so so great to see him progressing so well.
