Welcome to My Meditation. A podcast series that revolves around the outdoors and aims to help people maintain a healthy state of mind. I will be interviewing people who love the outdoors and use certain activities and hobbies to gain peace and/or for their mental health.
In the podcasts we will be discussing their number one ‘go-to’ activity that always helps them destress or unwind and forget about their problems for a while. We will be delving deep into how it helps them and this will be the main subject of the podcast.
There are going to be two genres to the podcasts: The indoor series and the outdoor series.
The outdoor series is basically what I describe above, outdoor lovers talking about their go-to outdoor activity to gain calmness. The indoor series will be about an indoor therapeutic hobby or interest that they have and use when they aren’t able to get outside.
The aim of these podcasts is to give people who are suffering with their mental health new ideas of things to do outdoors and when stuck indoors. Together with the stories from the guests and how it helps them, it could give the listeners the nudge they need to gain a happier, healthier frame of mind.
One other thing we will be asking our guests in each podcast is a short gratitude story . A short story about a moment where they've felt grateful for the simple things in life. Sometimes hearing other peoples misfortunes or stories of them witnessing certain things
We really hope you enjoy these podcasts and that you can take something positive from them. We aim to help.
In this episode Stella goes on to tell us how, from a young age, she has loved swimming in the rivers, lakes and oceans all around the world. But the difference from then and now is that now she uses is to maintain herself a peaceful frame of mind AND it soothes her back pains.
We also go on to discuss her work/foundation in Uganda and how she helps hundreds of children with education and much more. This part of the conversation diverted to gratitude...and lots of memories for me.
Below is the link to Stella's Foundation website, where you can find out everything they do and how to sponsor a child or donate to the foundation. As someone that's been there and witnessed what they do, I can guarantee that the money is well spent and goes directly into essential projects.

In this episode Tim goes on to explain how, for a long time during the pandemic, his gym and all gyms in Canada were closed for business. This meant he was no longer able to continue with his martial arts training, or any training for that matter.
After practically being housebound at the same time and feeling a little helpless, simply put, Tim decided to start up a podcast with his friend.
This episode delves into the whole process and explains how he's used both martial arts and his podcast as his 'meditation' in the past and present. I hope you guy's enjoy.

I loved every minute of this chat with Kat, full of energy and never a dull moment.
She goes on to explain how green areas, hiking and the outdoors in general really helps her control her anxiety and agoraphobia like nothing else does.
After trying various other routes she found that the outdoors was definitely her meditation and fully promotes it for anyone else suffering with the same disorders.
Come and join Kat and I for this fun, energetic yet serious(ish) chinwag!

In this episode pole dancing and aerial hoop teacher Tracy Hancock talks about how her many pets have helped her more than once through dark times in her life.
Back in the day Tracy used pole and aerial hoop as her form of meditation but over the years this turned into a job so she found she wasn't getting the same help from these activities as she once was. What Tracy soon realised was that she was getting her meditation fix from her interaction with her pets instead.
Please join us and let Tracy explain more in detail and who knows, she might even encourage you to get a little pet of your own if you think you could benefit from it and you have the time to take care of an animal.

In this episode I speak to my close friend Nicky Jones. After various traumatic events and experiences throughout her childhood, Nicky's pivotal moment in life was picking up a backpack and heading to Australia. From that point onwards she's grabbed life by the horns and turned her life around dramatically. But her journey hasn't been without it's problems.
Nicky's life story is heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time so I hope you can join in on this chat that is not only outdoors, but it's also my first face to face podcast! And it was great doing it with a close friend in an amazing setting of sunset, forest, wild flowers, birds and bats here in North Wales!

In this episode I talk to an inspiring guy called Sion Owen. A couple of years ago Sion's life took an unexpected turn. A turn he didn't see coming and left him in a place of despair and loneliness.
But with the power of the Welsh mountains he regained his zest for life, shed over 6 stone in weight and is now on the road to recovery mentally.
Sion's life still isn't perfect but after buying his first pair of walking boots he is definitely seeing the benefits of getting himself outdoors, and hopefully he can persuade you to do the same if you are going through some difficult times right now. I hope you enjoy this episode as much as I enjoyed recording it.
At the end of the podcast Sion said that if anyone would like to get in touch with him regarding his road to recovery they are welcome to do so. You will find his Instagram page link below:

In this episode we speak to a lovely couple from Nottingham, UK: Lou & Lol. Lou suffers from anxiety while Lol copes daily with Asperger's and Tourette's. They talk about how the outdoors helps them with their mental wellness and they also touch on how getting out of the house is a process in itself and one that most people don't have to deal with on a daily basis.
This episode shows how Lou & Lol really push themselves to get outdoors and the reason they push themselves so much is because they know how good they will feel once they are out there, getting their meditation.
