In a psychotherapy session, younggunn discusses why he is so obsessed with having a daughter instead of a boy. He confesses his discomfort with men in general and expresses his book idea about the world of only women. The therapist is professional, but younggunn thinks that she is a bit reluctant and not so committed to the session.
A boy is born, and his parents name him, Devin. The iPod Ghost plays “Born in the USA” as a celebration song.
Devin’s dad is deeply disappointed, because he desperately wanted a girl, but he reminds himself that he must anyhow fulfill his responsibilities as a father now.
Danbi, my precious daughter, stands by me, roots for me, and protects me.
Most importantly, she takes my side when Dawn gives me a scolding.
Dawn can’t do anything except feeling jealous of this beautiful father-daughter bond.
I love it. I am gloating. Until the reality hits me.
baDDaDDy Season One is the story of a highly ambitious man shopping at a 99c store; a proud breadwinner moving his family into his parents’ house; a law-abiding immigrant unsure whether he’s welcome; an incredible novelist who has sold 30 copies; and a righteous father unrighteously called “bad daddy” by his son.
There is a constant battle between father and son.
Their goal is to win the Queen’s love.
Hard for me to win, because my wife and son are always teaming up against me.
The son yells at me “bad daddy!” and his mom thinks he’s cute.
Can’t be a victim of this unfair love triangle!
