A production by and for veterans to learn how to help one another task a bite out of veteran suicide. We take with veterans about their service, things they would have done different, and what advice they would give their younger self. We also highlight community resources for veterans and provide an opportunity to connect veterans with community projects to help seniors and children.
Marine Corps Lieutenant General Jon “Dog” Davis joined the Marines in 1977, was commissioned after he graduated from college in 1980 and served 37 years as an aviator, instructor, leader thinker and doer.
He flew the AV-8A, TAV-8A, AV-8B, Harrier, UH-1N/Y Huey, CH-53D/E and KC-130T/J in service with the Marine Corps. As an exchange officer with the Royal Air Force he flew Jet Provosts, Hawks, T-4, and the Harrier GR-3, 5 and 7.
In the course of his military career he has flown over 4,300 mishap free hours plus over 1,500 hours in general and experimental aviation aircraft. He commanded Marine Attack Squadron (VMA-223) which is a fixed wing attack squadron based at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, NC, the Marine Aviation Weapons and Tactics Squadron One in Yuma, AZ, and the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, Cherry Point. He served as the Deputy Commander, Network Warfare at Fort Meade, MD, and later as the Deputy Commander, SUS Cyber Command. He stood up and lead the nation’s first Cyber Joint Interagency Task Force (JIATF). His last active duty billet was to serve as the Deputy Commandant for Aviation, Headquarters Marine Corps, Arlington, VA, managing a $13.3B budget/yr, 1,000+ aircraft and a workforce of 57,000 personnel.
The LtGen retired in 2017 and began his business career, helping good companies become better ones or in helping others bring great ideas to life, then to market. He currently serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Rolls Royce North America, a company producing the lift fans for the Marine variant of the F-35 aircraft.
He is also chairman of the Board of Directors of ADACEN, Chairman of the Strategic Advisory Board for Make a Difference Energy (a Green Energy Portfolio Company) - where he is involved in innovative solutions to bring green LNG and Hydroelectric power together to provide a sensible bridge and strategy to greener but economically viable energy transition and as a member of the Merlin and Aerocore Strategic Advisory Boards.
He holds a Bachelor of Science from Allegheny College, a Master of Science from Marine Corps University and a Master of International Public Policy from John Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies. He is a graduate of the Wharton School, Boards The Lead program. He now lives on the lake with his bride of 41 years, Carol, and their two dogs. They have two married sons, both strike naval aviators (one F-35 and one FA-18), two beautiful daughter-in-laws, and 4 grand daughters.

Join Idaho Governor Brad Little and local dignitaries for the dedication ceremony of the Idaho State Veterans Home. Location is 590 S Pleasant View Rd, Post Falls, ID on Friday November 11 at 1400. Limited tours of the home all be offered after the ceremony from 1500 to 1800.
