Heart of God Church
Pastor Cecilia Chan (Pastor Lia) is a Preacher, Worship Pastor, Trainer and Builder of Generations rolled into one. A former journalist with Singapore’s main national paper, she left a promising career to found Heart of God Church (HOGC) with her husband, Pastor Tan Seow How (Pastor How).
Today, HOGC has thousands of young people and an average age of 22. This was birthed out of Pastor Lia’s love for the next generation when she started the youth ministry with nine kids. She also pioneered the worship ministry with youths trained in-house, progressing from a single guitar to five worship teams with over 170 people. Besides ministering from the pulpit as Co-Senior Pastor, Pastor Lia also loves to train and release young leaders to run the church with excellence and great attitude.
She and Pastor How own a business, a major distributor of consumer electronics in Asia. With the business’s profits, they gave $1 million to church; and by God’s grace, it won’t be their last.
We know that God is the God of the mountains, God of the valleys. He is at the top. He is at the bottom. But is God in the middle?
The middle is always the hardest. Middle of Covid-19. Middle Management. Middle of a Marathon. Middle Child Syndrome. All hard places.
We are in the MIDDLE of a pandemic. Too far away from the beginning, yet we can’t catch sight of the finishing line. It’s easy to be deflated and discouraged being stuck in the middle!
