Speaker and author, Pauls Sloane says, “Creativity is thinking of something new. Innovation is the implementation of something new.” An innovative classroom creatives an environment of collaboration and risk-taking within defined principles and routines. Students are encouraged to problem-find! Innovation starts with a question not an answer. In this environment students set goals and practice without penalty with the opportunity to make revisions. Teachers in an innovative classroom don’t rely on 1 teaching technique, but instead include teaching strategies that are always evolving, and are different from day to day.
