Tree farms don't have to be wildlife wastelands. You can easily blend active timber rotations with healthy wildlife populations while increasing your huntability.

Decoys work in the South but you need the right conditions. A perfect storm of the first does in heat, bucks jacked up and on the move, favorable winds and a gutsy call to swing for the fences. Who says you shouldn't hunt early season mornings? I've killed 4 mature bucks in the a.m. over the past 4 years; from late August to the first week in September. Simply by hunting their natural movement patterns. This is a quick episode covering my season opener hunts and ultimately tagging a beautiful mature South Carolina whitetail. My early season bucks over the years have been direct results of blending wildlife habitat work and forestry management.
