My thoughts on the need for Nigeria and indeed African societies to reimagine their spirituality keeps rambling on. In this episode I sat with Terkimbi Akulega, a pastor of a church in Benue State Nigeria to take the conversation further with particular reference to the practice of Christian faith in Nigeria. In this episode, I discussed the recent indictment of the Nigerian Deputy commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari in relation to the case of Abbas AKA Hushpuppi which has raised eyebrows and began various conversations. We focused on the narratives and opinions that have risen from this. This includes: The matter of extradition and what the Nigerian government is doing; the comparison between this situation and that of Nnamdi Kanu and Sunday Igboho and what we can deduce from it and the apparent stance of the north and what it means for the Nigerian polity.
This episode talks about what I think is the after effect of the END SARS PROTEST…the arrest of Nnamdi Kanu and the current situation surrounding Sunday Igboho and his detainment in Benin. With a lot of people worried about the government focusing on arresting leaders of certain tribal groups rather than attending to the crucial needs of this Nation, ranging from Banditry to Kidnapping to School closure… is there still hope?
