At MarketingCX, making a positive change in our clients businesses, is always more important than making money.
We care about the impact we make on the business world. Our profits will be a by-product of that impact.
We recognize that social selling successes are the main challenge our clients face, jeopardizing their business successes. Our focus is on B2B Businesses and therefor became LinkedIn Specialists.
We strive to solve our client’s problems and remain students of the social selling methodologies and techniques to achieve this. Our motto is LinkedIn Supremacy for all.
We story-sell
Add value… but are we focusing too much on knowledge, information? In social selling, promoting our businesses, products, services, and solutions, we all have been exposed to the advice, the teachings to add value. So we jump into content and share our knowledge, our experience, our expertise.Great! But there is one value offer that I often find that is sadly lacking. They, our ideal clients, our communities, our audiences, our connections, our followers… are people. And the biggest value we can offer another person is to have a real, genuine, and authentic interest in them as people. When we show interest in others, we communicate that they matter to us, and we acknowledge their worth as individuals. It is a powerful way of building connections, fostering empathy, and creating a sense of belonging.Genuine interest involves active listening, asking questions, and responding with empathy and respect.By valuing others in this way: -✅We open up opportunities for deeper relationships, mutual growth, and meaningful experiences that enrich our lives.✅We create a space for them to express themselves and feel valued.✅We listen without judgment, being present, and seeking to understand their perspective.✅We take the time to get to know someone on a deeper level, beyond their role or title, we see their humanity and can connect with them in a more meaningful way.✅We create a sense of belonging and fosters deeper, more fulfilling relationships.✅We see others as individuals with unique experiences, thoughts, and feelings, rather than simply as a means to an end.Let’s add value by having a real, genuine, and authentic interest in others is one of the most valuable gifts we can give, both to others and to ourselves.Agreed?!
The Magical Journey of Turning Leads into GoldLet’s look at some facts first…Only 3% of any marketplace is ready to buy from you. This is considering the people that are even remotely interested in you.The other 7% are active buyers, which means that they have a need and a problem that needs to be solved however they are still searching for options. That leaves the remaining 90% of the people you are marketing to will not be interested in your service as they have not identified a need or a problem in their business, yet.So, it makes sense to start working the 90% - right?!How?💥 LinkedIn!✅𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗽 𝟭: Find your ideal client – they will become your prospects. Now start the relationship with engagement and content.✅𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗽 𝟮: Connect and follow the prospects in Step1 – they will now become Leads. Continue building the relationship with engagement, content, and personalized messaging.✅𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗽 𝟯: Obtain their contact details – they will now become MQLs (Marketing Qualified Leads). Move them off LinkedIn by handing them over to Sales to qualify them as SQLs (Sales Qualified Leads)… and close the deal!It is a simple process, but it works.❌Don’t leave money on the table, focus on the 90%
3 Foundation elements that will make or break your LinkedIn efforts…As an early adopter I have been using LinkedIn since 2004.But it was only in 2011 that I really discovered the power of this professional platform. I used only LinkedIn to successfully build 3 for myself and also assisted thousands of global businesses to do the same. This is what I have learned…✅Success on LinkedIn starts with the correct setups.❌ Don’t just jump in and start reaching out or posting content…First you need:👉 Knowing how to tell 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 story👉 Knowing how to tell 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 story👉 Knowing how to craft 𝙖𝙣 𝙤𝙛𝙛𝙚𝙧 that they, your ideal client, really want.
A business is built on a 𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘦𝘢𝘮…Business is a 𝘵𝘦𝘢𝘮 𝘴𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵!Every thriving business boasts with a team that works and functions as a unity. It therefor stands to reason that every business owner, business professional must focus on building a team that is committed to the successes of the business. How?Donald Miller teaches to focus on the foundational 3 Key Elements to create a dream team:👉1. Understanding the mission of the business👉2. Employ team members based on predefined key characteristics team members must have.👉3. Ensure that each team member is familiar with the 3 main current objectives, activities of the business.I implemented this and my business thrives on the strengths of my team. Can you add to this?
Just because it works for you on Facebook, does not guarantee it will work on LinkedIn…Here are 3 𝘭𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘰𝘯𝘴 I learned on some of the differences between these two social media platforms.
LinkedIn the new ‘𝘍𝘢𝘤𝘦𝘣𝘰𝘰𝘬 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘚𝘶𝘪𝘵𝘴’Content on LinkedIn is fast becoming very personal. Are the days when you could find valuable and insightful business-related post updates gone?I hope not…If this is you and you have been sharing more personal information rather than focusing on sharing business information, here is my advice…❌ Don’t!Here is why…✅ What you say on Social Media stay on Social Media – it is public✅ How are you going to establish trust relationships if you have difficulties, challenges or problems in your personal life to deal with✅ But more importantly you have invested time effort and even money on establishing a personal and business brand. It takes one comment, one post update to destroy it all👍 Yes, you need to focus on storytelling, but their – your ideal client – stories, not yours!Best advice…Be 𝘗𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 but stay 𝘗𝘳𝘰𝘧𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭What say you?
Have you ever wondered how business leaders, influencers, gather information and data to make informed decisions?Well, platforms like LinkedIn are essential for conducting research! 📊🧐Research is an essential tool for understanding the online world around us and making informed decisions. It helps us learn about new technologies, social trends, and advancements in various fields.By using platforms like LinkedIn, we can gather valuable insights and data that help us make informed decisions.Without research, we would not have made advancements in medicine, technology, and business. We would also lack a deep understanding of the challenges facing our world and how to address them. So, let's appreciate the value of research and support platforms like LinkedIn that offers research and help us better understand the world around us!
Are you making this mistake? There is no shortcut to marketing, to creating a community, to creating followers, that want what you have to offer! It takes time…You see in marketing, on a platform like LinkedIn you need to focus on:▶️ Inbound marketing – Creating a presence that will attract your ideal client to you.▶️ Outbound marketing – Reaching out to your ideal client. The problem is this…Merely creating a presence, setting up and optimizing your profile, plus creating content 𝘪𝘴 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘦𝘯𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩!But taking a short cut by messaging everyone daily or scraping email addresses to do email marketing campaigns with ‘Buy my Stuff’ messages 𝘸𝘰𝘯’𝘵 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬!You need to do both, consistently, but in the right way!You need to create a killer profile that will offer huge value, positioning you as the thought leader with answers…Then you need to reach out to your ideal client with the sole purpose to establish relationships by creating meaningful conversations through offering huge value… 𝘯𝘰𝘵 ‘𝘉𝘶𝘺 𝘮𝘺 𝘚𝘵𝘶𝘧𝘧’Remember in today’s online world you cannot sell anymore… 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝘂𝘆!
Success is just not enough… 𝘢𝘯𝘺𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦!John C. Maxwell explains this well: “𝘚𝘶𝘤𝘤𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘪𝘴 𝘢𝘥𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘷𝘢𝘭𝘶𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘷𝘦𝘴, 𝘚𝘪𝘨𝘯𝘪𝘧𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘢𝘥𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘷𝘢𝘭𝘶𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘴”If we focus on a social media platform, like LinkedIn, to add value to others…👉 Shouldn’t our focus be to become more than just a success…👉 Shouldn’t we strive to become significant?Listen to this and let me know if you agree?
Do your research, do your homework:✅ Study the content, branding, messaging, and tactics of successful influencers in your industry or niche.✅ Learn from their experiences and strategies that have led to their success.✅ Adapt their proven methods to your own style and voice.❌ Don't steal someone else's content or ideas without their permission.❌ Avoid outright plagiarism and maintain your own authenticity and unique perspective.Remember, success often comes from a combination of factors, including hard work, persistence, creativity, and innovation. Find a balance between learning from others and forging your own path to success.
2 Mindset changes that will get you LinkedIn results… 𝘨𝘶𝘢𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘦𝘥!👉 𝙁𝙞𝙧𝙨𝙩 ditch the ABC (Always Be Closing) idea… LinkedIn is not a sales platform.Instead adopt the ABO (Always Be Open for business) concept. On LinkedIn you are prospecting with the sole purpose to create relationships with your ideal client by having insightful, helpful, and meaningful conversations.Position yourself on LinkedIn in such a way that you are open and available to these conversations.👉 𝙎𝙚𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙙 know that your ideal client on LinkedIn is 𝘕𝘖𝘛 interested in your business, they are interested in knowing 𝘠𝘖𝘜!This is where the profile plays a huge role.Ditch your resume and create your profile as a landing page, a mini website for your ideal clients to learn more about you and what you have to offer.Watch the video for more…
𝘈𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘣𝘶𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘧𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭𝘴! Are you marketing ready? To succeed in today's fast-paced and competitive market, it's not enough to just have a great product or service. You need to have effective, well-mapped out processes in place to support your marketing efforts.Without them, you risk falling behind your competition and losing out on potential customers.Do take the time to evaluate your processes and ensure they are up-to-date and optimized for marketing success!𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻:In today's digital age, effective marketing can make or break a business. It's not enough to simply have a great product or service; you need to have the right processes in place to support your marketing efforts. These processes can include everything from lead generation and conversion optimization to content creation and distribution.Without a solid foundation in place, your marketing efforts will be less effective and less efficient.By taking the time to evaluate and optimize your processes, you can ensure that your business is marketing ready. This means that you have the tools and resources necessary to attract and convert potential customers, build brand awareness, and ultimately drive growth and success. So, don't neglect your processes - invest in them and reap the rewards of a marketing-ready business!
Every business is now under huge pressure to deliver and over-deliver…With so much brand exposure available on a social media platform like LinkedIn, businesses must be results driven…… And be able to proof it!I believe the time is now to stop all cute and clever marketing messages that ultimately only sow confusion……And to instead focus on helping our clients to improve their businesses!Plus, we must be able to offer structures and methods to help them make informed qualified decisions.Else we will continue to waste time with objections like “Why should I believe you”Time is of essence – we need to gain clients and clients need solutions… that will work…!
I hate selling…!Have you heard this before?Have you said this yourself before?I have…Until I discovered the secret of the ‘Art of Shift the Focus’Now I enjoy sales…I am good at it…Sales are easy and fun…Watch this and become a sales fan…
What do you think?Talking about work-from-home, hybrid, or work in an office, I was asked the question which is best? Now, having worked in all 3 models I guess my experience could be helpful.I started my business, MarketingCX in 2015, while living in a very small remote town, Pringle Bay in the Western Cape.At that time having an office and finding the team I needed close-by was just not an option. So, I opted for the work-from-home model.I found my team, but they were all living all over South Africa – miles away from where I lived. For years, we worked remotely building the business as a team on Zoom. Some of my team members joined me and left without me ever meeting them in person.𝘐𝘵 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬𝘦𝘥 𝘸𝘦𝘭𝘭!When I moved to Hermanus in 2018, I started looking at the hybrid model and some of the team members did office work some days of the week.𝘐𝘵 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬𝘦𝘥 𝘸𝘦𝘭𝘭!I moved back to Johannesburg towards the end of 2019. Covid came and covid left and I continued building and running the business, remotely, successfully.Last year, in 2022, I started the internships and was forced to opt for the work in an office daily model. Slowly we faced out the work-from-home and hybrid models. As a team we could now do brainstorming, planning, and support each other face-to-face every day. There is something to be said about human interactions and socialisation. Now, MarketingCX, is a business working from an office where we as a team stand as a force, supporting each other daily.𝘐𝘵 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬𝘴 𝘣𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳!What is your experience? I strongly believe that automation tools can do more harm than good. Here's why:▶️ The accuracy of LinkedIn user information is dependent on the user updating it regularly. So you might be reaching out to the wrong person creating huge annoyance▶️ You need to do research on the LinkedIn user to determine if they will be a good fit for your service even if they are a match according to a search.▶️ It is rude! You are in effect saying to the LinkedIn user they are not worthy of your time or attention.Automation tools can limit your creativity and flexibility on LinkedIn.When you rely on these tools to do the work for you, you might miss out on opportunities to engage with your audience in new and interesting ways. LinkedIn is all about creativity and spontaneity, and automation tools can stifle that spirit. So, if you're considering using automation tools on social media, I urge you to think twice. Instead, focus on building genuine, authentic relationships with your followers. It might take more time and effort, but in the end, it will be well worth it.
𝘘𝘶𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯: Is ChatGPT a threat or opportunity?Chat Generative Pre-Trained Transformer is an artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot developed by OpenAI and launched in November 2022. The fastest growing app currently with over a 100 million users. How will ChatGPT affect our businesses, our lives?More importantly how should we deal with this technology change? In today’s video I detail my views.Watch it and let me know in the comments your thoughts.
Hey, they are still people; a person that feel, think, do and yearn…We call them:▶️ Ideal Clients▶️ Leads▶️ Prospects▶️ SuspectsBut did we forget that they could very well be:▶️ A referrer▶️ A collaborator▶️ A supporter▶️ A community member▶️ … A FriendDo we need a mindset change?
Use ‘curiosity’ wisely!During a keynote yesterday, I was explaining how to focus on adding value for the ideal client, especially in our content. The question was raised what about creating curiosity. My answer and conviction are simply that curiosity must be use in our headlines, the very first sentence, purely to ensure that our content will be consumed. But we should never use curiosity to detail the solutions we offer. The more you reveal, the more value you add…The more value you add, the more you create an understanding of how much you actually offer and how much they will benefit and save.𝘗𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦 𝘥𝘰 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘣𝘶𝘺 𝘪𝘯𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯…𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘣𝘶𝘺 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘭𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘰𝘭𝘶𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯…Do you agree with me?
As a Baby Boomer, I saw it all!I started my IT career in the mainframe era. PC’s, Laptops, Notebooks, Internet, Mobile Devices, iPads, iPods were unheard of.Then they came one by one, infiltrating our worlds and taking over. Now each invention, technology evolution, was met with fear. 𝘍𝘦𝘢𝘳 𝘰𝘧 𝘫𝘰𝘣 𝘭𝘰𝘴𝘴𝘦𝘴!I guess it is just natural for those that resist change.Again, I am witnessing yet another technology evolution – 𝘈𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘧𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘭 𝘐𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦 (𝘈𝘐)!And again, it is met with fear – fear of losing jobs and opportunities! So, will we see job losses?Absolutely! But it can be prevented…You see, I believe the employee, the business, that will prepare and ensure that they strategise and learn how to use AI as a business tool to get results will not only survive but thrive. But key is going to be to change your focus from…Just having a skill to produce an end product…To being able to use the tools available to produce 𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗨𝗟𝗧𝗦!We are entering a world that will only be results driven, 𝘯𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘭𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘯 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘦𝘹𝘱𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘣𝘦 𝘢𝘤𝘤𝘦𝘱𝘵𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦!Agreed?!
⚠️ Warning: The storm has started… ⚠️𝘈𝘳𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘺?𝘐𝘴 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘣𝘶𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘺?Years ago, I started warning my clients that a storm is coming. Well, the storm has started, we are in the midst of a it.What storm?Well you see, as B2B organisations adopt the digital online world as their preferred (and for some only) method for marketing and sales, the competition is becoming fierce!Don’t get derailed with reports and complaints of spam, shiny object syndrome or what works or what doesn’t!Focus on building, establishing, and maintaining your own communities. In this video I highlight 𝟱 𝗸𝗲𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀 𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 to build your community.𝘉𝘺 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘢𝘺, 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘮 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘷𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘰 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘢 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘦𝘵𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦!
On LinkedIn it is not who you know… 𝘉𝘜𝘛 who knows you!We have all been there…Chasing the numbers!𝘔𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘯𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴… 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘳𝘴… 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘷𝘪𝘦𝘸𝘴 𝘰𝘯 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘵𝘴… 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘦𝘯𝘨𝘢𝘨𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵… 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦…Right?!Why?For more brand exposure, more visibility, more ideal clients to know me!Ok, maybe it was just me.I quickly in my LinkedIn journey discovered working smarter not harder just makes everything so much more fun. That is when I discovered the power of 𝙚𝙢𝙥𝙡𝙤𝙮𝙚𝙚 𝙖𝙙𝙫𝙤𝙘𝙖𝙘𝙮.Each one of my team members gets a ‘LinkedIn Uniform’ when they join us.That means they get their KPI’s, their job description plus their LinkedIn Profile Personal Brand linked to the MarketingCX Business brand, our LinkedIn page. Now it all becomes so much easier. We stand tall and strong in LinkedIn.We operate as one voice. We all have our MarketingCX LinkedIn Uniform – building MarketingCX as one, as a force to reckon with!Do you have a ‘LinkedIn Uniform’?
I was asked what is the most important daily LinkedIn activity?Without hesitation I answered – 𝘌𝘯𝘨𝘢𝘨𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵!Watch this video and see if you agree with me…
Earn the right to own a lead!If you are using LinkedIn to promote your business, create brand awareness, generate leads or even to grow your business, this principle is key.𝘏𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘸𝘩𝘺…LinkedIn is a social media platform to build relationships with the main objective to invite your community, your audience, into your own environment.👉LinkedIn is not your platform...👉LinkedIn is not your marketing tool…👉LinkedIn is not your email marketing system...𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘥𝘰 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘰𝘸𝘯 𝘓𝘪𝘯𝘬𝘦𝘥𝘐𝘯!Your main focus on the platform should always be to add enough value to connections, your audience, your community to invite them to exchange their contact details in return for even more value…You need to use LinkedIn to build your own leads database… Remember, LinkedIn is not a leads database… it is still social media platform!𝘉𝘶𝘵 𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘪𝘵 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘨𝘦𝘵𝘴 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘦𝘵𝘦𝘭𝘺 𝘸𝘳𝘰𝘯𝘨…Some LinkedIn users wants to speed up this process and lose sight of the fact that:▶️ You need to build relationships first with your ideal client.▶️ You need to add enough value to make it worth it for your ideal client to give you their contact details and become part of your community off LinkedInUltimately your LinkedIn activity is always only focused on building know, like, and trust relationships by adding huge value…Then you earned the right to own the lead!
Test your marketing!Don’t just take advice blindly and assume it will work wonders for you as it does for the advisor!Adopting a mindset, a methodology, to test everything you do to make your brand known and accepted, on a platform like LinkedIn, will save you a heap of frustration and wasted effort.Focus especially on testing:▶️ What do your audience and ideal client really want▶️ What is the problem(s) they experience that is hindering your ideal client in getting what they want▶️ What other people’s posts should you engage with and how▶️ What type of content will create huge engagement▶️ What voice and tone will resonate best with your ideal clients𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴…Don’t just copy others and assume what works for them will work for you!𝘐𝘵 𝘸𝘰𝘯’𝘵!Because your audience, your ideal client, your solutions, are unique and different!Test, test, test, and test some more…Until you find you own unique sweet spot!
You should not 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 copy or repost others content posts…It can cause huge brand reputational damage!
A 7-Step LinkedIn Profile About Section FrameworkTo write a profile about section that will ensure that profile visitors do engage with you and take action can leave you 𝘭𝘰𝘴𝘵 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘥𝘴.𝘋𝘰𝘯’𝘵!This simple and easy 7-step about section framework is based on Donald Miller’s storytelling framework. It just works!Over time it has proven to create daily sales opportunities for my business and my clients but the real gem is that it attracts ideal clients.𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝟳-𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗽 𝗟𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗲𝗱𝗜𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸:👉 Step 1: Detail what your ideal client wants.👉 Step 2: Highlight the problem they are experiencing that hinders them to have what they want.👉 Step 3: Introduce your self as the solutions provider with empathy and competency.👉 Step 4: Explain the next steps in bullet points.👉 Step 5: Give them a call to action with confidence.👉 Step 6: Highlight what failure in taking action will look like.👉 Step 7: Show them the success, the transformation they will experience if they engage with you!Follow this framework so that you can stop having profile visitors that will forever just scroll, never engage or take action and instead convert profile visitors into prospects that are ready to engage and take action
LinkedIn is all about relationships – 𝘙𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵?But it can be hugely demoralising when you, with all the best intentions in the world, reach out to people just to be ignored… or even worse be accused of being a spammer! There is a far easier and simple way to build meaningful relationships. Relationships that will appreciate you and your support your efforts.Follow these 3 steps:1️⃣ Connect2️⃣ Engage3️⃣ MessageIt is important, though, that you follow the steps in that order.I detail in the video what to do in each step.Watch it, so you can stop feeling rejected and start building relationships that would love to engage with you… always!
Logo’s, Websites, and pretty pictures do not create new clients…Words does! You need to speak their language, not yours…You need to use the words they use, not yours…How?By having a deep understanding of:▶️ What they really want▶️ What is hindering them to have what they want; their problems, their challengesHere is how I do it…𝘞𝘢𝘵𝘤𝘩 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘷𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘰
Focus on building assets for your business…▶️ Advertising vs MarketingIn the B2B world advertising is focusing on gaining new clients quickly. But it will not build long term relationships that can be tapped into at any time.To me that is a waste…I prefer to establish my brand first, then to focus on marketing my brand establishing relationships with my brand that overtime will serve me well.It will build marketing and sales momentum for my business. These relationships will, at some time in the future, reach out to me seeking my solutions.Want to make marketing and sales easier? This is the way……For me!What you say?
Marketing is not the answer…𝘛𝘰 𝘢 𝘧𝘢𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘣𝘶𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴!So often I hear business owners, business professionals, dissatisfied with their marketing results. We have spent a fortune on marketing with no results, is often the complaint. However, a business looking at marketing (and even sales) to solve a business problem is setting the marketing initiative up to fail. Here is the thing…You can only market what the business has to offer… and it is not just products or services.👉 A business needs clear structures and processes that works.👉 A business needs a mission that is clearly defined including at least 3 goals they want to achieve by at specific date and why.👉A business must not rely on products or services to grow their business, but their people – people grow a business not products or services. These are ‘must-haves’ I look at every time I take on a new client… because people buy from people and that should always be the main marketing focus.Businesses that have clearly defined missions backed by processes that work and people that believe in it, always yield great marketing (and sales) results.I explain my views in this video
It's no secret that social media can be a huge distraction, especially in today's world. We're constantly bombarded with notifications and new posts, so it can be hard to stay focused on our work or even our conversations with others.Worst still, getting sucked in and try to model what seems to be success stories for others…Focus on developing your own voice, your own story, your own brand!
My 3 LinkedIn Messaging Golden RulesReceiving a SPAM message on LinkedIn is a HOT topic. Not a day goes by without me receiving a message from a connection offering a product of absolute no interest. But I always smile and kindly respond to the sender reminding him / her that their actions are abusing the privilege of being able to message me.𝘞𝘢𝘪𝘵, 𝘐 𝘤𝘢𝘯𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘦𝘹𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘢𝘴 𝘸𝘦𝘭𝘭 𝘪𝘯 𝘸𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘯 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘥 𝘢𝘴 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘐 𝘥𝘪𝘥 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘷𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘰…
LinkedIn Social Selling is all about building relationships! But it is vastly different to personal relationships…A personal relationship can seek counselling to restore dissatisfaction…However, 96% of customers will not report dissatisfaction… They will just leave and seek alternative solutions… 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘦𝘵𝘪𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘴!This means that you have no chance to ‘fix what is broken’ in a business relationship!
My biggest LinkedIn lesson…When I first started working on LinkedIn it was all so confusing and overwhelming.𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘥𝘰 𝘐 𝘴𝘢𝘺…𝘞𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘥𝘰 𝘐 𝘥𝘰 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵…𝘏𝘰𝘸 𝘥𝘰 𝘐 𝘣𝘶𝘪𝘭𝘥 𝘢 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘴𝘶𝘱𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵 𝘮𝘦…These were questions I could not find easy answers for…Until I figured it out for myself!Focus on one thing!…And ‘thing’ is not a product or service or even a solution.‘Thing’ is that one burning desire my ideal client has…𝘛𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘰𝘯𝘦 ‘𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨’ 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘣𝘶𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴…… 𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘭𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘴…
LinkedIn is not a numbers game…To play the LinkedIn game your focus must shift to move the ‘numbers’ to where it really matters…Here is the thing…The amount of connection request, messages or even posts published makes no real long-lasting difference in your bottom line or business growth! What matter is:👉The amount of people that know YOU!👉The percentage of people knowing YOU that convert to liking YOU!👉And then the percentage of people who will trust you enough to buy from YOU!𝘚𝘰 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘥𝘢𝘪𝘭𝘺 𝘧𝘰𝘤𝘶𝘴 𝘣𝘦?Getting people to 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 you first, then 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 you by following you, seeking the value you add for them, so that you have a consistent amount of people, daily, 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 you to buy from you.Building Know, Like and Trust relationships on a platform like LinkedIn… 𝘪𝘴 𝘩𝘰𝘸 𝘵𝘰 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘺 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘓𝘪𝘯𝘬𝘦𝘥𝘐𝘯 𝘨𝘢𝘮𝘦!
Protect your cashflow… a𝘵 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘤𝘰𝘴𝘵!When a business starts struggling, cashflow becomes an issue fast! And no cashflow always results in no business… 𝘶𝘭𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘭𝘺!So how do you protect cashflow?I have found focusing on these 3 simple steps daily works wonders:➡️Effective marketing➡️Resulting in qualified leads➡️That does convert into profitable paying clientsNow if your leads do not convert into payable clients, fix your marketing to get more qualified leads…It is a simple formula, but it works!
Finding new client today is a breeze……compared to the pre-social media days!In the past we had to rely on:➡️Flyers➡️Brochures➡️Magazine, Newspaper and TV advertising➡️TelesalesIn desperate attempts to be 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸𝘯, 𝘴𝘦𝘦𝘯, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘥!Social media channels, like #LinkedIn, changed all that! Now we can reach millions of potential buyers with just one post update… 𝘢𝘵 𝘯𝘰 𝘤𝘰𝘴𝘵!We can become authors, publishers… 𝘢𝘵 𝘯𝘰 𝘤𝘰𝘴𝘵!We can be known, seen, and heard… and create daily sales opportunities… 𝘢𝘵 𝘯𝘰 𝘤𝘰𝘴𝘵!What a world we live in!Do you also experience acquiring customers, growing your business… this easy?
Content – It is not a popularity contest!Content is the universal language of the online world! It is the way we communicate with our audiences, our communities. But it is not a race to increase our popularity…So often we measure our content success based on the engagement we receive – likes, comments and shares…Now while this can be indicators that our readers enjoy what we publish, there is a better, a more effective measure…Conversion! How many of your content engagers converted into profitable paying clients?Makes you think, doesn’t it?
Do it 100 times and more, persistently and consistently…Consistently means doing the same thing over and over again…Persistently, on the other hand, means to continue doing the same thing over and over again, despite the difficulties and challenges. The question is…𝘋𝘰 𝘸𝘦 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦𝘴 𝘦𝘹𝘱𝘦𝘤𝘵 𝘪𝘯𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘶𝘭𝘵𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘨𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘶𝘱 𝘵𝘰𝘰 𝘴𝘰𝘰𝘯?In today’s Coffee with Tilly I detail 2 ways to measure your progress that will help you to know when to give up and when to push through…
It is not about what people want but rather what they need…Henry Ford, known as the creator of the Model T Ford cars, said 𝘪𝘧 𝘩𝘦 𝘢𝘴𝘬𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘳 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘳 𝘸𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘴𝘢𝘪𝘥 𝘢 𝘧𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘩𝘰𝘳𝘴𝘦!The question is this…Are you explaining your products or services in terms that makes no sense to your ideal clients. Why would a person comfortable being on a horse even consider buying a car?Think about it?!Your ideal client does not understand your products or services in the way you do! He cannot see the benefits of how this will improve his/her business or even life!Look at your LinkedIn Profile and Page… Then ask yourself:👉Can they see it?👉Can they feel it?👉Can they understand it?Sometimes the problem is not the LinkedIn platform or even finding your ideal client on the platform…Sometimes it is simply that your Go To Market (GTM) message is completely confusing…
Help them, one business at a time, 𝘱𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘦…Don’t deny any business the opportunity to be successful! In 2020, the beginning of Covid when the very first lockdown were announced, I was approached by 2 digital marketing agency owners. They suggested that we start training businesses how to successfully market their solutions online. It was a great cause and I agreed. The decision was made to start with LinkedIn and to introduce the training service via live Zoom webinars. As the LinkedIn specialist, I was to be introduced as the main speaker…I have never done anything like this before and fear crept in…Fear of…👉Not being enough...👉Not having enough...👉Rejection!𝘉𝘶𝘵 𝘐 𝘧𝘢𝘤𝘦𝘥 𝘮𝘺 𝘧𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘴𝘩𝘢𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘬𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘴 𝘥𝘪𝘥 𝘪𝘵!To my surprise everyone in the webinar found huge value and was appreciative towards my willingness to share my knowledge, information and experience! It was then that the saying you owe it to your potential customers to tell them that you have what they desperately need, with confidence, became true and a reality for me!Here is the thing…👉You do have value…👉You do have knowledge…👉You do have the experience…Go out and help your ideal clients to be successful……By telling them what you have – 𝘥𝘢𝘺 𝘢𝘧𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘥𝘢𝘺 𝘢𝘧𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘥𝘢𝘺 𝘢𝘧𝘵𝘦𝘳…You owe to them… and yourself! You (𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘴𝘰𝘭𝘶𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴, 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘥𝘶𝘤𝘵𝘴, 𝘰𝘳 𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘪𝘤𝘦𝘴) are worth it…

I can teach you skill, but I cannot teach you attitude! We all have the same 24 hours in a day, yet some are successful, and some are not…Watching a football match I pondered on this and wondered why some players are better than others!Suddenly I saw the correlation between all this and 𝘣𝘶𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘴𝘶𝘤𝘤𝘦𝘴𝘴…What is the difference? It became urgent – 𝘐 𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘥𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸…Then I found it – 𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘴𝘦𝘵… 𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘪𝘵𝘶𝘥𝘦…

𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘪𝘯𝘷𝘪𝘴𝘪𝘣𝘭𝘦… 𝘰𝘯 𝘓𝘪𝘯𝘬𝘦𝘥𝘐𝘯!And that, in my humble opinion, is why we are bombarded with Spam and Sales messages daily.People in general use a platform like LinkedIn, to find their ideal client, then revert to traditional sales methods and start selling… hard!LinkedIn, as a social media platform must be used as a social selling tool. Social selling is relationship building… not traditional sales. So the first call to action should be to become visible to your ideal client. Once that is achieved the benefits of social selling will yield far better results than traditional sales…… if only the power of social selling is fully understood and applied.
What you do on LinkedIn stays on LinkedIn!A couple of days ago someone left a comment on a LinkedIn Newsletter I did 4 months ago asking for my help in growing their LinkedIn Page.I was excited…Simply because it confirmed my 2 major believes regarding social selling on LinkedIn:1️⃣ You must focus on always providing value and quality work. No shortcuts. You never know when someone will find your work interesting enough to go back and search for more. It is also called brand protection.2️⃣ I was asked to help, not to sell! We must adopt an attitude of serving… we are active on platforms like LinkedIn to help, to make other’s lives better…
How I overcame the evil of LinkedIn distractionsWorking in an orderly, structured, and disciplined environment with a to do list is essential for everyone.Having clear goals and a plan of action, daily, helps you to stay focused and productive, so that you can make the most of your time.It also allows for better organization, which can lead to improved productivity and efficiency.I have found, having a to do list allows me to prioritize tasks and focus on the most important items first, helping me to achieve my goals faster. But also a to do list, done every morning, allows me to track my progress and hold myself accountable for getting things done.Do you agree that working in an orderly, structured, and disciplined environment with a to do list is an invaluable tool for anyone looking to get the most out of their day?

The challenges the B2B market now face. There is no more a huge difference between the B2C and B2B market. The customer journey for personal or business purchases are, more or less the same. But the B2B market now face the additional challenge of……Mobile! The customer of today is mobile and the B2B market will have to consider the customer journey:👉𝗠𝗼𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗲 – is used for social and decision-making (decision making to start the journey with your brand)👉𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗸𝘁𝗼𝗽 – is used for informationThis means that social media, LinkedIn, content posted must be easy to consume on a mobile. It must be viewed as a gateway, a door, to create enough interest to want to search for more information about you and your brand.Once the door has been opened and the content consumer moves from their mobile device to their desktop is where the real challenge starts. What will they find on your LinkedIn profile, page or even your website? This is where money is left on the table and sales opportunities lost!

The ugly truth of LinkedIn you should know…Worst of all, nobody talks about it, and instead makes it sound so easy. And no this is not a rant! Just me spilling the beans. Here is the thing…Social selling, social media marketing, #LinkedIn is so much more than just posting content. You need to do that plus 𝘨𝘳𝘰𝘸𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘺, 𝘦𝘯𝘨𝘢𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘨, 𝘯𝘶𝘳𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨, 𝘰𝘶𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘩 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦… It all takes time daily. But the results are never instant!Over the last 8 years, I discovered 2 critical timeframes:👉1. 3 Months to become visible… yep just visible!👉2. 9 Months to reach what I call the ‘sweet spot’. Yep, after 9 months of relentless dedication you will now enjoy the benefits of being a known brand attracting your ideal clients to you – inbound marketing. Keep at it because you are not out of the woods yet… but well on your way there…Did anybody explain this to you?
What if your marketing just works? How would you feel if you have a surplus of clients? It is possible and doable, 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸!The secret lies in uncovering your USP – Unique Selling Proposition! So often I find that people overlook the importance of how your USP can be the game changer you have been looking for. Here are my simple 3 step process I follow to define my USP:👉1. What are my unique skills, gifts that makes the life’s and businesses I deal with easier. I always list my top 3 skills.👉2. What is the transformation, benefit or outcome that occurs when my clients work with me?👉3. What is that one thing that I offer that my competitors don’t.It can be this easy. All that I now do is build that into my LinkedIn Profile and add it to my sales presentation.𝘏𝘰𝘸 𝘥𝘰 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘥𝘦𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘜𝘚𝘗?
Social Selling is not for everyone! It is all about developing relationships as part of the sales process, but it is not easy! Some views social selling as just posting content, but it is more than that. You also need to connect, engage, and interact with others. And in doing so you will face rejection! Some will ghost you, ignore you and not even acknowledge the effort and hard work you put into developing valuable content for them.𝘉𝘶𝘵 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘺 𝘰𝘯 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘴𝘦, 𝘨𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘥𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦…Your patience, persistence, and willingness to add value to others will pay off!𝗢𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝗶𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗸 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲…

How many of the people visiting your profile reach out to you asking for your assistance.👉 𝗤𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 then: Is your profile optimized? Is your profile displaying and presenting your personal brand well?Makes you think… doesn’t it?
LinkedIn is not a Leads Database… It is a Social Media platform!𝘓𝘦𝘵’𝘴 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘨𝘦𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵…You see, as human beings it is through social interactions that we live happier and longer lives. On a social media platform, like LinkedIn, we call these social interactions engagements!👉 Focus on that rather than finding your very next client and your activities on LinkedIn will serve you well!

I am NOT in the convincing business. I am in the serving business.Years ago, during sales training we were taught all the ‘tricks’ available to convince our prospects to buy. All for purposes of meeting sales targets. The age-old story of influencing others…It didn’t make sense to me then and it doesn’t make sense to me now.You cannot sell people anymore.People, businesses, today buy!By the time we do our well designed PowerPoint sales presentation, our prospects already formed a perception of who we are and what we have. The only reason they are meeting with us is to validate their perceptions. You see, they did their research, they did their homework. What we should be focusing on is ensuring that our audiences on social media platforms will form the right perceptions regarding our businesses, products, services… 𝘩𝘰𝘸?👉Marketing! That is the role of marketing. To present our businesses, our products, and services in such a way that when we attract our ideal clients their first impression with our brands will also create the perceptions that will serve our businesses well.Stop convincing others to buy… and focus on serving your ideal clients well.I say… 𝘗𝘶𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘫𝘰𝘺 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘢𝘭𝘦𝘴 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘤𝘦𝘴𝘴, 𝘴𝘢𝘭𝘦𝘴 𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘣𝘢𝘤𝘬 𝘣𝘺 𝘧𝘰𝘤𝘶𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘰𝘯 𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘴….

Don’t work blind, gain as much insight as possible. This is advice I received years ago, and it has served me well ever since.I applied this to ‘knowing my customer’ and it saved me a heap of frustration, effort and ultimately money. To know and understand your customer deeply, there is no better way than to ask them.Take the guesswork out of the equatioIn this video I detail how I do it…https://youtu.be/Es198L26d64?si=lpeDI_Ng3_0VwK3z
I was confused.During a sales presentation I asked my prospect if he could share his Go-to-Market strategy with me.His answer surprised me, but he seemed even more confused than me.‘𝘉𝘶𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘸𝘩𝘺 𝘐 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘦 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘦𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘰𝘯 𝘓𝘪𝘯𝘬𝘦𝘥𝘐𝘯 – 𝘪𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘮𝘺 𝘎𝘰-𝘵𝘰 𝘔𝘢𝘳𝘬𝘦𝘵 𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘨𝘺’ he exclaimed. To me you need to have a Go-to-Market Strategy and use LinkedIn to implement that.
Sometimes in business everything just seems to go wrong. It feels as if you are derailed, distracted…That is when you need to man up and fix it…Here is my story – I hope it will encourage you to always look for solutions and never ever give up!Do share your story… it is tough out there and sometimes we just need some support to get us on track again.
A word of encouragement! 𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘥𝘰 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘷𝘢𝘭𝘶𝘦!I used to doubt my own value, my knowledge and experience.👉 What if I tell others what I know, and they find it basic or even worse they already knew everything I do and moved on.👉 What if they knew more than what I do and thought that I needed help rather than me helping them. Then I made the discovery…I have my own community, my own tribe… that appreciate and support my efforts.I can’t serve everybody; 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘥 𝘷𝘢𝘭𝘶𝘦 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘸𝘰𝘯’𝘵…But most importantly those that do find value, find answers, and grow…So be encouraged today!Go and create content, go and share your knowledge and experience – 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘸𝘢𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘵𝘰 𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘱…!
It is always the small things that drives us towards the big results…And the real gem in all this is that the small things create patterns, guiding us to what action to take to secure our successes.𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘢𝘮 𝘐 𝘰𝘯 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵?So often we are looking for clients, leads but without the small steps first we will never reach our goals. But what is important is to identify the small steps first. Then you need to test the numbers to see how many of the small steps you need to ultimately reach your targets.
Today I want to share with you my ‘𝘴𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘦 𝘴𝘢𝘭𝘦𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘶𝘭𝘢’Now remember I am not a sales guru or specialist. I love to refer to myself as a ‘techie’ – that is my real passion! However, as a business owner I had to learn to be successful in marketing and sales… 𝘧𝘢𝘴𝘵!Early on I discovered a simple 3 step formula and I have been using this successfully for years:1️⃣ Speak to the right person2️⃣ At the right time3️⃣ With the right message…And I have a new 𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁! Not just a 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱 but a client. However, there is one more component to this and I call it 𝗔𝘁𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲…An attitude of service, focusing on helping others rather than the traditional ABC - ‘𝘈𝘭𝘸𝘢𝘺𝘴 𝘉𝘦 𝘊𝘭𝘰𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨’
“𝘉𝘦 𝘢 𝘮𝘢𝘯 𝘰𝘧 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘥…”“𝘛𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵 𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘸𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘦 𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘥…”As a baby, sitting on my lap, I told my son this over-and-over again aiming to in still in him values of kindness and respect.Because here is the thing…It is how we treat others that ultimately 𝘥𝘦𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴 𝘶𝘴, 𝘣𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘴 𝘶𝘴, 𝘭𝘢𝘣𝘦𝘭𝘴 𝘶𝘴…Being on a social media platform like LinkedIn, establishing your personal and business brands, it is crucial that we never forget this.👉 Remember if you are publishing content regularly you are a publisher similar to that of any other public figure and can even become a ‘celebrity’ – also called an influencer!I named this ‘𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮 𝗘𝘁𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲’
I am looking for people that’s looking for me...𝘔𝘺 𝘢𝘥𝘷𝘪𝘤𝘦 – 𝗗𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗱𝗼 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝗮𝗹𝗲𝘀!Rather focus on marketing your business daily…
The bittersweet frustration of content creation…Years ago, when I started creating content it seemed the biggest waste of time in my business.I tried everything! Hours of research to offer huge value, coupled with money invested in copywriting techniques yielded zero results!Little to no likes, share or comments with less than 100 views per posts was all I could master.I kept at it adamant to find the solution.👉 At first, I reposted the influencers posts thinking that I should get similar or at least some results – 𝘯𝘰 𝘭𝘶𝘤𝘬!👉 Then I tried to use their message and wrote it in my own words – 𝘯𝘰 𝘭𝘶𝘤𝘬!Back to the drawing board feeling defeated! That is when I discovered the secrets, nobody was talking about.I moved my research and content to my ideal client. Learning who they were. Now I am not talking about knowing their demographics but focused more on their psychographics. To gain this type of deep understanding of who they were I mapped their journey while seeking the solutions I offered. It started to work I got better results. But there was just one more secret component missing…I detail that in my video today…
I don’t normally share my personal life on LinkedIn, on social media. I am a very private person. But it was exactly a year ago that my 16-year-old son suffered a heart attack due to a blood clotting problem. We nearly lost him and our gratitude as a family, today is very real to us.So, naturally, when I did my webinar earlier this week this was on my mind and all consuming.𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘴𝘦𝘦 𝘪𝘧 𝘰𝘯𝘭𝘺 𝘸𝘦 𝘯𝘦𝘸 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘩𝘦 𝘩𝘢𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘣𝘭𝘦𝘮… 𝘉𝘶𝘵 𝘸𝘦 𝘥𝘪𝘥𝘯’𝘵…During my webinar I realized that sometimes in business it is the same. We experience a total collapse in our businesses because we have a problem that we are not aware of!And, that is the 𝗟𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗭𝗲𝗿𝗼 𝗠𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗧𝗿𝘂𝘁𝗵. Helping others through our content to realize that they do have a problem that they were unaware of…Watch this and see if it is helpful…Thank you for sharing this with me.
I was asked the question if I want satisfied or loyal customers. Initially I thought this was silly! We all want loyal customers!👉 𝗦𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘀𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗱 customers are just that – satisfied that their needs and requirements are met.👉 𝗟𝗼𝘆𝗮𝗹 customers will be brand advocates helping us to spread the word, referring our products and services to their friends, family, and business partners. The question is 𝘩𝘰𝘸! How do we ensure that our customers become loyal to our brand, our business?𝗘𝗮𝘀𝘆 – 𝗺𝗮𝗽 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗷𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘆!
Stop using LinkedIn to do ‘email farming’!Ok, this sounds like a rant, but it is not!You see, to me, offering free value should always be for the purpose of building relationships by adding value. But so often I find a LinkedIn user offering a free download, video series or document just to get my email address. Once they have my email address I will be bombarded with ‘buy my stuff’ emails – 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘴𝘶𝘳𝘦!It is frustrating! It feels like a work around. They can’t sell me on #LinkedIn, so I get conned into opting into some value add to sell me via email. The alternative?Treat your ‘free customers’ just like your paying customers. Be open and honest. Reveal your email strategies upfront and offer the option to unsubscribe. But whatever you do focus on providing the value you offered in the beginning.I call this ‘𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝘀 𝗮 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 (𝗚𝗔𝗔𝗦)’Always focus on delivering an exceptional service – whether it is paid or free!
I can only give the value I have…So, I remain a student of my subject!Fact, the world’s data double every 2 years. It therefor just makes sense that we need to keep on learning, we need to stay ahead of what is new and what has changed.I have been following people, influencers, that provide me almost daily new insights in my field of interest such as marketing, social selling, sales, customer experience and so on – consistently. All for purposes of knowing more, so that I can do more and ultimately having more value to give to my followers, my tribe.𝙎𝙞𝙢𝙥𝙡𝙮 𝙗𝙚𝙘𝙖𝙪𝙨𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙞𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙚𝙘𝙧𝙚𝙩…We all need to become that go-to person that others want to follow as they learn from us.Focus on establishing that first and lead generation, business growth will follow!Agreed?!
People buy from people they know, like and trust!Right?!But the question is – 𝘩𝘰𝘸?Here is my take on it:▶️ 𝗞𝗻𝗼𝘄 – Creating a presence on #linkedin and be visible to your ideal client by establishing a relationship▶️ 𝗟𝗶𝗸𝗲 – Add value to the relationship by engaging on their content and activities▶️ 𝗧𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁 – Position yourself as an authority in your niche, your market, your field. So how do you create a trust relationship?Simple, 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙣𝙩!Instead of focusing on creating content at the 𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦, using the 𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘵 with the 𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘮𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘢𝘨𝘦 rather focus on positioning yourself as an authority offering valuable information.𝙀𝙭𝙖𝙢𝙥𝙡𝙚: 𝘐𝘧 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘰𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘳 𝘏𝘙 𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘥𝘰𝘯’𝘵 𝘥𝘦𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘭 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘴𝘦𝘴. 𝘊𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘧𝘪𝘵𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨, 𝘦𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘰𝘺𝘦𝘦 𝘥𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘭𝘰𝘱𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘢𝘥𝘷𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘨𝘦𝘴, 𝘣𝘦𝘴𝘵 𝘱𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘦𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘴𝘰 𝘰𝘯.Remember, people prefer to buy from someone that is an authority and can provide guidance on finding solutions. Are you seen as an authority to your LinkedIn community?
Content – 𝘊𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘢 𝘮𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘻𝘪𝘯𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 #LinkedIn 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘺!This will give ‘dwell time’ a whole different meaning.Let me explain…You see we focus on dwell time as to how much time someone will spend on your LinkedIn post. Rightfully so, as the algorithm favours that. Now this can easily be measured by vanity metrics such as views, likes, shares and comments. However, I do not produce content for the algorithm. My focus is on the 𝘷𝘢𝘭𝘶𝘦 𝘐 𝘢𝘥𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘮𝘺 𝘓𝘪𝘯𝘬𝘦𝘥𝘐𝘯 𝘵𝘳𝘪𝘣𝘦, 𝘮𝘺 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘺.▶️ What I want is to create enough valuable content that someone reading my post want to read more and will scroll down in my feed. This can easily be measured by the engagement my past posts receive.…And that is the first sign that the 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗮 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 has started.Let them read your post feed like a magazine…Are you doing that?
Want to grow your business? Want to achieve your business goals? Then focus on becoming 𝘦𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦!Not good or great, but 𝘦𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦!I am not just trying to play with words. Effective marketing, sales, and business growth activities and initiatives is specific to your business requirements. That is when you know and understand your numbers. So, how many leads to you need to fill your sales pipeline ensuring that you do the amount of daily sales presentations your business needs?Makes you think, doesn’t it?
What is the #1 marketing strategy you should focus on in 2023?𝗔𝘁𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴!Also known as Inbound Marketing. So, you have been pushing your marketing message out there hard. Sending messages, creating content, engaging with your ideal client on LinkedIn and even maybe attempted advertising…Now imagine if your ideal clients knocked on your door asking to buy your services or products.Imagine the amount of time, effort, and money you will save if you do not have to focus only on ‘pushing your marketing messages’ all the time!It is possible but it takes time…
The power of small steps… combined with habits…We all are in the habit of making BIG plans, especially in the beginning of a new year. 𝘉𝘶𝘵 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘸𝘦 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘴𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘷𝘦𝘴 𝘶𝘱 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘧𝘢𝘪𝘭𝘶𝘳𝘦?I have found that focusing on habitual small steps are a sure way to win – 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦, 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦!Just focus on achieving a tiny step everyday and do that over and over, until it has become a habit. Now think about marketing your business in this way…Powerful I say…You?
Welcome to 2023! Feeling rested and motivated?𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘄𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘁𝗵… about motivating others? If you have been unsuccessful in 2022 to motivate others to buy your products and/or services, this will help you to avoid failure in 2023.𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗶𝘀 you cannot motivate others to do anything, especially making buying decisions. All you can do is channel and direct their motivation to find solutions towards your business solutions, offers, products and services. How?By telling their story in such a way that it will resonate with them, that they can relate to it – through content. But it will not work once or the first time…You need to do it again 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘪𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘪𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘪𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘥…Make sense?
To me the real of power of LinkedIn lies within:▶️ Relationship Building▶️ Referrals▶️ Collaborations▶️ Brand Advocacy
Be consistent, 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘴𝘢𝘺… BUTIt's hard to be consistent for all of us!Most people tend to focus on the outcome more than the process because they are more drawn to the positive feelings of outcomes rather than the struggle of the journey. The solution is easier than you think.Map your journey focusing on these 3 elements:▶️ Time▶️ Effort▶️MoneyBut whatever you do, 𝗱𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗾𝘂𝗶𝘁 during the struggle rather focus on daily small wins…And you will quickly experience the rewards of staying the course.Watch this for more clarity
Who are we creating content for?The #algorithm or our communities?Years ago, when we started with Websites all emphasis was on SEO (Search Engine Optimization). We had to be on the first page of a Google search!Remember? Now the question is this…❓ Are we doing the same on Social Media Platforms, on LinkedIn?Do we focus so hard on the algorithm that we forget to serve our communities well?𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙙𝙤 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙠?
Social Media, LinkedIn, can be such a distraction…Yet we advocate consistency is key!So, does that mean we need to be consistently distracted?😄No we need to stay focused on the daily activities on LinkedIn that will move us closer to our goals. Here is a method we have been using for years. Not only does it help us to stay focused but also to work with insight, while 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗹𝘆 .What to you do to eliminate distraction and stay focused constantly?

Holiday Season! Do not put your business on hold.Marketing momentum takes time – heaps of it!Some businesses build momentum in months with an aggressive approach and flawless execution, while others take years to build it.Now consider that LinkedIn is a very noisy marketplace and there’s no ‘magic bullet’ in terms of marketing success. However, there is a bulletproof strategy that works: build and maintain marketing momentum.𝙎𝙤, 𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙞𝙨 𝙢𝙖𝙧𝙠𝙚𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙢𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙪𝙢?If people see your name and message once, they’re likely to forget about it. But if they see it many times, they’re more likely to start remembering you. Initially they’ll remember your brand, then, as your momentum picks up, they’ll start understanding what your brand does, and the benefits you’re going to bring them.Think about it as a train gathering speed and collecting passengers along the way.If you look at successful people, you will see that they are always looking for new tactics to move closer to their goals and build on their accomplishments. The key to their success is momentum. If you want to achieve success, you need to create momentum and move through those external forces that can challenge you – especially during a Holiday Season.𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝟱 𝘁𝗶𝗽𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗺𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗺:▶️ Make a commitment - 𝘕𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘢 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘪𝘵𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘬 𝘢𝘸𝘢𝘺 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘯𝘰𝘳𝘮.▶️ Focus on what you want – 𝘋𝘰𝘯’𝘵 𝘭𝘦𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘺𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘱 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘵𝘰 𝘢𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘦𝘷𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘨𝘰𝘢𝘭𝘴▶️ Model success – 𝘙𝘦𝘱𝘭𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘦𝘹𝘤𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘴𝘶𝘤𝘤𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘪𝘯𝘧𝘭𝘶𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘳𝘴, 𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘴.▶️ BHAG – 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘉𝘪𝘨 𝘏𝘢𝘪𝘳𝘺 𝘈𝘶𝘥𝘢𝘤𝘪𝘰𝘶𝘴 𝘎𝘰𝘢𝘭, 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘯𝘰 𝘣𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘸𝘢𝘺 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘶𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘯 𝘨𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘉𝘐𝘎. The LinkedIn Formula nobody talks about…When I started using social media nothing made sense. How did others become influencers with millions of followers, claiming to generate clients at will and on demand?I was more than just confused… and wasted a lot of time and effort on methods yielding no results.𝙏𝙝𝙚𝙣 𝙄 𝙘𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙠𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙘𝙤𝙙𝙚…If you can understand this, if everybody can grasp this very simple concept, we will have no salesy or spammy messages.I share this with you to help you to stop wasting time on daily activities that do not work but instead become known as the go-to-person for the solutions your ideal clients want and need.Let me know if you found this as profound as it was for me, 𝙖𝙩 𝙛𝙞𝙧𝙨𝙩…
What is the #1 marketing strategy you should focus on in 2023?𝗔𝘁𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴!Also known as Inbound Marketing. So, you have been pushing your marketing message out there hard. Sending messages, creating content, engaging with your ideal client on LinkedIn and even maybe attempted advertising…Now imagine if your ideal clients knocked on your door asking to buy your services or products.Imagine the amount of time, effort, and money you will save if you do not have to focus only on ‘pushing your marketing messages’ all the time!It is possible but it takes time…
Successful marketing is dependent on laser targeted focus...But your focus must include these 3 Key elements
Don’t stop there…So, you created your LinkedIn Profile personal brand!𝙉𝙤𝙬 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙘𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙡 𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙩…You need to get your ideal client to visit your LinkedIn profile to see who you are, what you stand for and most importantly how engaging with you, will benefit them.Driving ‘traffic’ to your profile will require 3 strategic campaigns:▶️ 1. Content▶️ 2. Messaging▶️ 3. Engagement (my favourite – I call it the ‘secret sauce’)More so, do not work blind! Measure and manage your progress.
It is the small things… and action speak louder than words!Creating and establishing your LinkedIn profile personal brand is hard work and do not come easy!𝘽𝙪𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙞𝙨 𝙤𝙣𝙡𝙮 𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙬𝙖𝙮, 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙛𝙞𝙧𝙨𝙩 𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙥!Now you become your brand and that is when everything can go horribly wrong! You can literally undo all your hard work in one small, almost insignificant, act!
Who sold you that? Tomorrow is never guaranteed… for any of us…There are certain events, especially in business, we can control and others we need to manage.𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘀!With the holiday season upon us, do even have those in place? Here is my take on the matter…What is yours?
But it will not work once or the first time…You need to do it again 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘪𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘪𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘪𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘥…
I am looking for people that are looking for me!𝘽𝙪𝙩 𝙝𝙤𝙬 𝙬𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙮 𝙛𝙞𝙣𝙙 𝙢𝙚?Keywords…Phrases… I use often…When we create our personal brands using the LinkedIn Profile, we need to focus on what words and/or phrases we want to be known for.𝙃𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙙𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩?So, what words represent you, your personal brand?
All we have in life is our 𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗲 and 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝘂𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻...The best way still to create our personal brands using the LinkedIn Profile is still... 𝙒𝙤𝙧𝙙 𝙤𝙛 𝙈𝙤𝙪𝙩𝙝Therefor let others confirm who you are (your name) and what you stand for (your reputation) when you are not in the room... on your 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙛𝙞𝙡𝙚
Are you committed or involved in your business, your clients?Somehow, we all think we are committed to our businesses, our successes.𝘽𝙪𝙩 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙬𝙚?How far are you prepared to go for your clients? Ensuring that the benefits they receive from our service and products, don’t only change their businesses for the better but ultimately becomes a life altering experience for them.
What is the purpose, the objective of your LinkedIn Profile? To create a positive impact for your LinkedIn connections, audience, and community! And your LinkedIn Profile...?
Are you prepared to fail?“𝘠𝘰𝘶’𝘭𝘭 𝘯𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘢𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘦𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘴𝘵 𝘣𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘭 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘧𝘢𝘪𝘭 𝘢 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘱𝘭𝘦 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦𝘴 𝘸𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘦 𝘱𝘶𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘱𝘢𝘴𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘵 𝘻𝘰𝘯𝘦.” That is what Timothy Hoang, CEO of Stories By Tim, Inc. advices his influencer clients, when he develops their personal brands. We all failed in our personal lives, our careers, and our businesses. But here is the thing…𝗙𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗜𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗙𝗶𝘅 𝗜𝘁!Then use that failure experience to grow stronger, but don’t stop there!Go out and help others to learn from your failures and become success stories without the pain and agony you had to face.Apply all that to your LinkedIn Profile when you build your personal brand. Then you will serve your LinkedIn communities well. And should you fail in building a successful brand using your LinkedIn Profile, the analytics will reveal what you need to Face and how to Fix it!
Could business be compared to a 'calling'?We want to think so!Here is the thing:-If our business solutions can save another business, then it is critical that we change our mindset from merely trying to make a sale to providing a service, rather!Which means being present and available always is no longer a choice...
When you create your LinkedIn Profile Personal Brand you need to remain Personal but Professional. And to achieve that you need to follow a detailed structured approach...
Want to build a personal brand, using your LinkedIn Profile? The secret is to always focus on just one 'thing'...
A quick word of advice - 𝙙𝙤 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙘𝙤𝙥𝙮 𝙤𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙨 𝙤𝙣 𝙇𝙞𝙣𝙠𝙚𝙙𝙄𝙣!Use your profile to build your personal brand but focus on:👉 Being genuine and authentic - it will be much easier to manage your personal brand on a daily basis👉 Being deeply skilled - then your reputation alone will help you build the personal brand you want
Creating and developing your personal brand can be a daunting task...But not if you use your LinkedIn Profile!
Where focus goes, energy flows...Are you getting ready for a well-deserved break in December? But what about your business...I wonder why so many business owners walk away from their businesses for almost a month, when it is in fact such an opportune time to get ready for the new year. For years staying focused, engaging with my communities during this period always assisted me to start January onboarding new clients.
FACT: It is not about you but about them!Sometimes we try so hard to detail who we are and what we do that we forget to focus on our LinkedIn communities. We need to focus on their needs, making their lives and businesses better and we need to tell them that! 𝘛𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘳 (𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘥)!How?𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗟𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗲𝗱𝗜𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗶𝗹𝗲! 𝗔𝘀 𝗮 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗕𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱!Is your LinkedIn Profile customer centric? Customer focused?
If you are in Rome, you need to do as the Romans do... 𝘚𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘢𝘺𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘨𝘰𝘦𝘴If you are on #linkedin, you need to do as the algorithm dictates... 𝘕𝘰𝘵 𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘦 𝘴𝘢𝘺 weHelp us out here... what is it that we do not understandWe are not going to change my marketing strategy to fit into a set of robotic rules. Our first focus is to follow our strategies to serve my LinkedIn community - they are human after all.Now we are not going to be stupid and post 20 times a day on my profile if the algorithm will only favor one post every 18 hours...But there are limits. Our marketing strategy, our community comes first then we will consider best practices using LinkedIn as the tool to execute.
How busy is your LinkedIn Profile? Do people actually engage with your content? All this is necessary to ensure that your personal and business brand looks like it is 'sought after'
Generosity with content drives a lot of inbound interest in companies’ social presences, far more cheaply than advertising. This is when you combine your own insights with the desires of your ideal client. And if you don't know your ideal client, create a 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻...Always remember that LinkedIn is to your marketing team just a tool used, like Quickbooks will be a tool to your accounting team.It is not LinkedIn that generate leads and clients for your business.▶️ It is the principles of customer experience marketing utilising the power of LinkedIn as a marketing tool that will ensure your business growth success.▶️ LinkedIn is the vehicle, the Faster Horse, to move to customer obsession and not possession!
LinkedIn a great tool to determine your ideal clients thoughts and views regarding your marketing efforts. It is a great way to start improving your customer experience marketing efforts with insight, removing the guess work.𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 us:1. 𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗣 𝟭: Monitor the traffic to my profile via profile views. This is a great source for inbound marketing purposes. It is a great indicator of whether you are in fact attracting your ideal client. But it is only the beginning.2. 𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗣 𝟮: Monitor content engagement. Once our profiles are working for us and we have the right audience we monitor if they enjoy our content and find enough value to engage and respond?3. 𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗣 𝟯: Monitor messaging responses. Now that we have their attention, did we do enough to earn the right to reach out via messaging and engage on a more personal and professional level? If we now get ghosted, we know that we need to go back to step 1 and re-visit our strategies.𝘐𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘦𝘯𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩 𝘵𝘰 𝘢𝘴𝘬 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘧𝘦𝘦𝘥𝘣𝘢𝘤𝘬. 𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘸𝘰𝘯’𝘵 𝘨𝘦𝘵 𝘢𝘤𝘤𝘶𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘴.
If your ideal clients land on your Profile and notice that you offer the solution, they desperately need and want why will they then send you a ‘Buy my Stuff’ message.I say, the solution to stop spam messages lies in LinkedIn Profiles that focus on the ideal client experience with your personal brand!
Marketing is about telling other businesses (B2B) that your business, products, or services do exist. But it is an urgent message. If you are confident that your business, products, or services are indeed the solution to your ideal client’s problems; by not telling them or not marketing your business, you are actually causing them more problems.
The answer to these Spam messages we all hate here on LinkedIn, is not to stop messaging! The answer is simply to do it the correct way!
Get people interested in your product or service. It is called marketing! So focus on how to achieve that more... using a tool like LinkedIn!
In our humble opinion, these are the 𝟮 𝗺𝗮𝗷𝗼r #LinkedIn challenges that is the 𝗡𝗼 𝟭 reason for spam messages on LinkedIn..
People buy from people... so who the heck are you?Seriously?I say, we should stop trying to create the 'perfect' content and rather focus on creating content that will introduce us - transparent and authentic... 𝙮𝙤𝙪!We are all human - and maybe some of my content might have the awkward spelling mistake (or be grammatically incorrect). Or maybe my videos should be studio quality...But people buy from people that they 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁... next time you create content focus on that...
Let's call a spade a spade. Messaging everyone that you can find in a LinkedIn search is just wrong!Automation!Mass production!Maybe someone told you LinkedIn is a goldmine to tap into, to find leads, and you fell for it!Don't!There is a better way...I call it the 𝘁𝘄𝗼 𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗽 𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. This is what you do...
Yes it is marketing.Nope, a Facebook approach will not work on LinkedIn if you want to see results.LinkedIn is a professional network focusing mainly on the B2B business model. Your approach should always be personal but professional, with the objective of introducing your brand to decision makers,And to achieve that you need a solid plan of action - a LinkedIn Marketing Strategy that will create brand awareness and generate leads - else what is the point of being on LinkedIn.Who in today's busy economic demanding world has the time to be on a social media platform just to be social?Let's get back to the LinkedIn Marketing Strategy. For many LinkedIn users this can be a daunting task - especially if you are solopreneur or a small business owner with no marketing skill or experience. This is a 5 Step LinkedIn Marketing Strategy that works for me and all my clients always - follow these and success will be yours!
Gaining understanding of what will be perceived value to your social media audience, online communities, raving fans and ideal clients will save you a heap of time and frustration.Start with understanding:▶️Their needs - we all have basic needs to survive and thrive (Maslow's hierarchy). In marketing you cannot create these or add value to them; you just need to understand these▶️Their wants - wants are an upgraded version of needs but are shaped by society. Owning a car will be a need but driving a Mercedes will be a want.▶️Their demands - the 'new economy' where buying experiences are expected to provide pleasure for the customers. It starts where a business identifies a market need and ends with customer satisfaction.Don't make the mistake of trying to add value based on your understanding or even worse - your needs, wants and demands.𝘋𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘥𝘦𝘦𝘱 𝘥𝘪𝘷𝘦, 𝘤𝘢𝘱𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘷𝘢𝘭𝘶𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘣𝘶𝘪𝘭𝘥 𝘮𝘦𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘧𝘶𝘭 𝘳𝘦𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘱𝘴.
Customer experience marketing! Differentiate your brand, personal and business, with the experience you existing and potential customer has with your brand. But just as you create your products and services, so you need to create your brand. A simple formula I use to establish my brand is:👉 Value plus Relationships equals Loyal Fans, Loyal CustomersThe easiest way I know to create and establish a brand that will differentiate you and your business from the noisy crowd is the LinkedIn Profile and Page.Think about it similarly as to product or service creation. Step out of information overload, the noise, and focus on differentiating your business by focusing on what really matters to your potential customers - their experience with your brand!💡 HINT: First impressions last! Ask yourself:- What is their experience when they first met with your brand by visiting your LinkedIn Profile, your LinkedIn Page?Customer experience marketing is the differentiator to ensure your brand will be noticed in a very noisy, information overload, online world.Start with setting up your brand, Profile and Page, to be noticed.
Show me your friends and I will know who you are!Show me your followers and I will know who you are!𝘙𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵?!Here is the thing…If you engage with other peoples posts based on your own value system - who you are, what you stand for - as your Profile, your Personal Brand you will attract those LinkedIn users that supports your views. They will ultimately follow you…
Why are we here?Well, I have pondered on this for years.I came to the conclusion that the only reason we are here, why we are here on Earth, is to help one another, to serve one another in life as well as in business. It's such a conviction to me that I've phrased it in my business as a Generosity as a Service.Learn how the MarketingCX Social Selling Roadmap Coaching Program can help you take your business to the next level.View the Program here: https://marketingcx.news/socialselling
Tired of getting spam messages on LinkedIn? What if it is your fault?Okay that might sound harsh but let me explain my logic.
People buy from people. So before any commercial transaction will take place your potential client will need to know, like and trust (KLT Factor) YOU first! And the KLT Factor will be established firmly based on your reputation, which is based on having a strong personal brand! This is not such a daunting task if you consider the power of a LinkedIn Profile!Think about it...Your LinkedIn Profile can be your Personal Brand's voice where you can establish your reputation.Question then...?𝙄𝙨 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙇𝙞𝙣𝙠𝙚𝙙𝙄𝙣 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙛𝙞𝙡𝙚 𝙗𝙪𝙞𝙡𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙧𝙚𝙥𝙪𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙨𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙘𝙖𝙣 𝙚𝙣𝙟𝙤𝙮 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙞𝙣𝙘𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙚 𝙞𝙣 𝙧𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙣𝙪𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙖𝙞𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙛𝙤𝙧?Reputation always comes before revenue.
To fully understand the power that lies within your marketing efforts will be a complete game changer for your business, especially if your focus is B2B.Marketing also focuses on 2 main functions:1. Creating your brand2. How to take your brand to market𝘈𝘯𝘥 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘣𝘦 𝘥𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘰𝘯 𝘓𝘪𝘯𝘬𝘦𝘥𝘐𝘯!To create a strong brand presence on LinkedIn, for marketing purposes, you will need:▶️ A personal brand - The Profile.▶️ A business brand - The Page.Once you created your brands on LinkedIn take it to the 'LinkedIn market' by means of 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁, 𝗠𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴, and 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁!

How To Build a Dedicated LinkedIn Tribe?
The LinkedIn Group!
Little has been said about the LinkedIn group and the opportunities to build a LinkedIn Tribe that will boost your business growth quickly.
The power of LinkedIn lies in creating and managing your own group.
Consider this…
One of the main advantages of creating your own LinkedIn group is having access to people while creating discussions related to your industry.
It is also a sure way to build a laser targeted network and generate qualified leads.
Most importantly it is a hub of like-minded professionals sharing similar interests enabling people to share information, find answers and as the owner of the group to be viewed as an expert, a thought leader!
You can also strengthen the relationships with key people in your industry as well as potential customers by establishing a know, like, and trust relationship. This can be achieved as you can (and should) send messages to your members for free.
Unlike the LinkedIn profile or page, the LinkedIn group is focused on networking. But remember effective networking focuses on providing value, sharing, assistance and informing. But it has nothing to do with spamming, promoting, or selling.
But you will not reap the benefits of a LinkedIn group unless you know how to:
Create a LinkedIn group and choose an effective name as well as topic
Invite your connections and followers to join your group
Create interactive conversations in your group, get the members talking
Use the group to strengthen relationships and ultimately generate leads
