God seems nearer to people when he speaks their language - St. Augustine of Hippo in North Africa
What you need to do:
OneTribe,
Let all bitterness, wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice.
Be kind to one another
Be tenderhearted
Forgive one another as God in Christ forgave you.
Therefore, be imitators of God as beloved children. And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. Ephesians 4:31-32
Run John Run! The law demands but gives me neither feet nor hands. Far grander promises the gospel brings, it bids me fly and gives me wings -John Bunyan
We launch a new series called "Wings to Fly: How the Gospel Shapes Us to Become Extraordinary in Ordinary Everyday Life."
In the past, God spoke to our ancestors many times and in many ways through the prophets, but in these last days he has spoken to us through his Son. Hebrews 1:1-2
The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross. - Col. 1:15-20

If you aim for Jesus when you read the scriptures, you get yourself thrown in; if you aim for yourself you get neither.
This sermon explores the protoevangelium, the first announcement of the good news found in Genesis 3:15. We delve into the promise that the seed of the woman will crush the serpent’s head, signifying Jesus’ ultimate victory over evil. As we embark on this new series, we aim to see Jesus in the scriptures, come to him for life, and point others to him.
Evil Will Be Undone: Despite humanity’s disobedience, God promises to intervene and overcome evil through the seed of the woman, ultimately fulfilled in Jesus.
Victory Over Evil Comes at a Great Personal Sacrifice: The seed of the woman will suffer in the process of crushing the serpent’s head, a theme seen throughout scripture and culminating in Jesus' crucifixion.
The Thread of the Seed: The promise of the seed runs through the entire story of scripture, tracing genealogies from Seth to Noah to Shem to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, leading to Jesus.

The Bible, and especially the Book of Acts tells us there’s much more to the people of God than a gathering around an organised agenda, because God’s very presence is here in power to fulfil his ancient promises to his people
For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace. - Rom. 6:14
Married to Mr. Law
He is always finding fault
He is always right
He never lifts a finger to help you
He will never die
What is the source of your sustenance?
Answer this from your mental health, which comes from the way you are currently viewing your finances, which comes from how you handle your work.
How you answer that question will go a long way in determining whether you will fulfil this great call upon your life to turn your work into worship.
To be loved but not known is comforting but superficial. To be known and not loved is our greatest fear. But to be fully known and truly loved is, well, a lot like being loved by God. It is what we need more than anything. Timothy Keller
What do we need to do?
• Identify the unique grace upon you
• Embrace these as gifts
• Seek to collaborate
• Surrender your creativity to the Holy Spirit
Of what benefit would it be to me if Christ had been born a thousand times, and it would be daily sung into my ears in a most lovely manner if I were never to hear that he was born for me and was to be my very own? - Martin Luther
The gospel is not just "the A-B-C" but the "A-to-Z" of the Christian life. The Gospel is not just the way to enter the kingdom, but is the way to address every problem and is the way to grow at every step.
Tim Keller

The line separating good and evil passes not through states, nor between classes, nor between political parties either but right through every human heart and through all human hearts.
Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn
This city that we love and have been called to is plagued
with this seemingly powerful and spirit-filled brand of Christianity,
which is in an actual sense powerless religion because it looks
nothing like Christ and it is devoid of the freedom that Jesus
paid for with His life.

Believe Jesus is building an unseen kingdom
Believe Jesus is building a growing kingdom
Believe Jesus is the best thing about the kingdom

As we celebrate Father's Day, we acknowledge the current leadership crisis in our world, and in this teaching, we see how we can revive biblical leadership by following the three guiding principles demonstrated by Paul in Acts 20:1-16. These principles include putting others first, prioritizing encouragement towards others, and investing in the next generation.
In Acts 19:23-47, we gain an understanding of idolatry and recognize its presence in Nairobi, where idols can be common, confusing, and costly. This is a battle that concludes with a knockout.

In this podcast episode, we will discuss the final part of a four-part series called Generous. This series focuses on understanding what it means for us to have a generous God and become a generous people. In the previous episodes, we were reminded that everything belongs to God and were shown how God provides for us. Last week, we were called to excel in the grace of giving for various compelling reasons. In this episode, we are reminded that the main focus of the Church is not fundraising or even doing great and wonderful things in the world; it is Jesus, who He is, what He has done, and what He has called us to. The call to discipleship is uncomfortable, easy, or even possible without denying oneself, taking up the cross, and following Jesus. In the passage from Luke 16:1-14, Jesus exhorts us to use our wealth to love people, pursue true riches, and choose who and what we serve.
This episode challenges us to ask ourselves where we are with our commitment to follow Jesus and encourages us to listen to His heart for us concerning money and possessions.
In this teaching, we discuss one of the main topics in the church: giving and tithing, seeing the reasons to give, both bad and great. The teaching references biblical passages that discuss giving, including tithing before Jesus, after Jesus and most importantly, in Jesus. Connecting relationally, serving sacrificially, giving generously, and what it means for the church!

In this teaching, we are reminded that God's power (the Holy Spirit) is the one that changes and keeps lives intact in the faith. We should challenge ourselves to get out of our comfort zone to share the gospel with those around us so they, too, can get the eternal gift of salvation.
We continue with Paul's journey, and in this episode, we see how Paul and Silas praised God even in their suffering.
