Welcome back to Sidenote Suplex

Andrade El Idolo recently spoke with Mas Luchas and commented about Sammy Guevara, saying, "but I did have one issue with a wrestler. I am going to say his name, it was Sammy Guevara. I had an issue with him because he once came to the locker room and complained that we hit him too hard. It's wrestling, solve it in the ring. If I hit hard, hit me hard too. I learned that he came in and that he accused me like a little girl. After I learned about it, I spoke to him and asked if he had an issue with me, but he said he did not and that's all there was to it. It's funny because not even in WWE. For example, Sheamus likes to hit, and all my respect for him because he loves to hit hard and loves the strikes. He is wild. Even The Miz likes to throw strikes. Not even John Cena complained about me, so if he did not complain, imagine this kid who is just starting, but there's that." Guevara fired off the first shot on Twitter, though he didn't outright name El Idolo — "You are a jobber. A favor hire. Be grateful b—." El Idolo and his assistant Jose posted their response this morning: Guevara fired back, "YOU didn't say s— to me you liar but here's some truth you ungrateful prick You would be jobless if it wasn't for your dad-in-law. Are you really mad at me or mad at yourself for failing to get over for a SECOND time? Just go back to WWE like we all know you want to do & f— off." Ricky Starks, clearly annoyed by the whole thing, tweeted out, "Man, can my co-workers just shut the f— up for a minute?" He later deleted the post. AEW talent Sammy Guevara and Andrade were allegedly involved in a backstage altercation, sources tell TMZ Sports, and Andrade was sent home.

We saw with the CM Punk/ The Elite (Kenny Omega/The Young Bucks) beef that it was handled somewhat hush-hush and wasn’t worked into the storyline most likely because it couldn’t be.. Looks like another similar situation has occurred. The heat is Hot The egos are big ..Younger talent once again not gelling with older talent in AEW. Why is this becoming a common theme? And what will be done to remedy this? Let us know your thoughts below A reminder that the Punk Elite investigation is still ongoing No new official news yet.

ICYMI: MONEY! EGOS! TENSION & HEAT! Shots being Shot And THEY AINT subliminal it's direct Backstage Punches Being thrown …Chairs Being tossed Has A mission and a goal now become lost? At All Out 2022 CM PUNK Defeated Jon Moxley to recapture the AEW World Championship But it seems the media Interview after the match is almost getting more attention than the main event itself. CM Punk has previously made his issues with former AEW World Champion Hangman Adam Page clear as Punk called Page out in an alleged unscripted promo moment several weeks ago on AEW Dynamite. The problems between the two men are believed to have stemmed from comments Page made in the build-up to their match at Double Or Nothing event back in May. This verbal receipt from Punk was due to Page alluding to the controversy surrounding Colt Cabana and Punk in AEW. “Hangman” pointed out Punk’s alleged poor treatment of Cabana in one of his promos pre-Double or Nothing. There's history between Cabana and Punk Who were former tag team partners and friends who honed their craft in Chicago’s independent pro wrestling circuit. But things went very sour when Cabana (real name Scott Colton) sued Punk (Real Name Phil Brooks) a few years ago.

After beating the Varsity Blonds along with Bryan Danielson on the most recent episode of AEW DYNAMITE, Jon Moxley got ahold of the mic and addressed the crowd explaining the importance of William Regal to himself and his career, saying REGAL’s the only man whose opinion he ever cared about.  HE ADDRESSED William Regal as his Lordship, a nod to Regal’s time in the WCW promotion When he was the character of Lord Steven Regal back in the early 90s. Moxley also called the new faction the Blackpool Combat Club and said that if anyone wants to earn their respect, they'll have to do it the hard way. William Regal cut his teeth in the wrestling business in England at the Blackpool Pleasure Beach’s Horseshoe Show bar at the age of 15 before going on to achieve worldwide fame across the pond, but still being announced as hailing from the town throughout his career.  Now that an official name has been established for the group, will we see additional members soon? WWE Executive Vice President of Global Talent Strategy & Development Paul “Triple H” Levesque WENT IN-DEPTH on his recent HEALTH PROBLEMS that took him out of the public eye last fall. Triple H joined ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith for an exclusive interview and also announced in the interview that he will be officially retiring from in-ring competition. Triple H has done some WWE work over recent months. He toured the new WWE headquarters facilities in Stamford along with other executives last November. Shawn Michaels has been overseeing the brand since the start of Triple H’s medical leave. Triple H’s last match was on June 29, 2019. He tagged with Shinsuke Nakamura in a win over Robert Roode and Samoa Joe at a non-televised WWE live event in Tokyo, Japan. ALL EGO Ethan Page has reportedly signed a new contract with AEW. A new report from Fightful Select notes that Page has signed a contract extension with AEW. He previously signed with the company in early 2021, and a deal to extend that contract was actually reached later in the year. There’s no word yet on the terms of Page’s contract extension, but the deal will keep him with AEW for multiple years to come. So most likely a big-money deal. And well worth it. Page is currently aligned with AEW TNT Champion Scorpio Sky, as The Men of The Year, and they are being managed by Dan Lambert, along with Paige VanZant. WHO ALSO RECENTLY SIGNED WITH THE COMPANY. All Elite Wrestling star “All Ego” Ethan Page recently sat down with Sports Guys Talk Wrestling Podcast to talk about his current run with AEW. According to multiple reports, AEW superstar Miro signed a new extension with AEW that will keep him with the promotion till 2026. Fightful reported that Miro re-signed with AEW, and this time it is a four-year contract extension. It was also revealed that Miro agreed to this deal last year, but it was officially signed earlier this year. Miro’s original AEW deal was set to expire in Spring 2022. He made his debut in September 2020 after being released by WWE, WHERE HE WAS KNOWN AS RUSEV. He was a three-time United States champion with the company. Rusev was released by WWE on April 15, 2020, due to those dreaded quote-unquote budget cuts.

“The Charismatic Enigma” Jeff Hardy is NoW officially All Elite! DURING WEDNESDAY NIGHT AEW DYNAMITE Matt Hardy and the HFO were gathered in the ring to start their segment, and Matt was apologizing to the Hardy Family Office because he felt like he let down the crew. Andrade said that he wants to be the leader of the group and that they should take a vote. THEN Andrade, Private Party, and the other stars in the HFO ended up turning on Matt and beating him down in the middle of the ring. Darby Allin and Sting emerged from the entrance ramp and came to assist Matt Hardy and get in the mix.

There were still too many men in the newly formed HFO, so they ended up getting the advantage on even Darby and Sting. That is when that signature Hardy Boyz music hit The AEW CROWD POPPED and Jeff Hardy ran down to the ring to make the save. After making the save and even hitting his signature Swanton Bomb finisher, Jeff and Matt had a long staredown with Sting and Darby Allin. It was noted that the original “Loaded” theme song that The Hardy Boyz used as an entrance theme for decades isn’t actually owned by WWE, so AEW worked some licensing magic for the theme and it was used in the segment.

WWE released Jeff Hardy in early December after he reportedly turned down an offer to go to rehab from the company. This came after an incident at a December WWE live event in Texas, where Hardy abruptly disappeared through the crowd during a six-man tag team match. Due to the incident, Jeff was pulled from the road and subsequently released. In the weeks that followed, it was reported that head of WWE Talent Relations John Laurinaitis called Jeff Hardy to talk about possibly bringing him back, and offered a place in the 2022 WWE Hall of Fame. But without his brother. Hardy of course denied their offer and asked for his drug test results from when he was released in December because he knew he wasn’t going to test positive for any recreational drugs. It took Hardy and his wife six weeks to get the results back, and when they did, Jeff indeed had passed his drug test and breathalyzer.

Welcome Back To Sidenote Suplex.

William Regal made his AEW debut at last night's Revolution 2022 event, seemingly forming an alliance with or between Jon Moxley and Bryan Danielson. Moxley and Danielson had a hell of a bout for the pay per view which saw Moxley get the better of Danielson. After the match, Danielson wasn’t happy about the L and argued with the referee and got into Moxley’s face. The legendary Regal then came in and separated the two, slapping them both to calm them down. Regal was able to bring them together with the two shaking hands. Danielson suggested to Moxley on Dynamite last month that they should form a faction together, and highlight younger AEW talent such as Daniel Garcia and Lee Moriarty. Moxley told Danielson that he wasn’t saying no, but not saying yes, saying that if he were to team up with anyone, he wanted to bleed with them first. Which led to the match at revolution.

A reminder that Regal was released by WWE on January 5th 2022 after being part of the company for 22 years, both as an in-ring talent and later as part of the NXT developmental brand, where he was featured as the on-screen general manager. Regal was prominent throughout the 90s and 2000s has been a part of the highs and lows of the business and his rich knowledge of the inner workings of pro wrestling- Can greatly benefit AEW and help continue to push AEW in the right direction.

Work or shoot? Leaving for the Loot? Too Many Chefs in the AEW kitchen? Cody Rhodes has announced that he and Brandi Rhodes are officially leaving AEW. The former three-time TNT Champion has been working as a free agent since the beginning of the year. The two parties have not been able to come to terms with a new contract. Because of that, his time with the company has come to an end. Rumor is Cody wanted a big-money deal, but several within the company didn’t think that a new deal was going to happen, according to Fightful Select. It was noted that Cody and Brandi have not been quite as connected to the AEW locker room in recent years as they were when AEW first launched, with word coming out that Cody had become distant from the other Executive Vice Presidents, Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks. Cody Rhodes released a statement addressing the situation on Twitter. CODY took the time to thank Tony Khan. And many others on the AEW roster. Cody is a founding member of AEW and served as an Executive Vice President when he was under contract as well as a headliner talent for the company. Brandi fulfilled the Chief Brand Officer role as well in her time with AEW and was also an in-ring competitor. Cody spent a decade working for WWE, from the years 2006 to 2016. WRESTLEMANIA RUMOR REPORT Is one of the Kings of WWE’s Attitude era RETURNING TO The Grandest Stage of Them All. WRESTLEMANIA THIS YEAR? Multiple sources have reported that WWE is allegedly discussing the return of STONE COLD STEVE AUSTIN at this year's WrestleMania 38. This would be Stone Cold's first match since 2003, where he rode off into the sunset after being defeated by THE ROCK at WRESTLEMANIA 19. Fightful.com reports that WWE has thrown around the idea of Austin returning to the ring at WrestleMania 38. Fightful wrote that, at the very least, Austin is expected for a physical role at the show. That could mean various things though. In a recent promo, Kevin Owens was heeling on Texas and throwing insults, stating the one good thing about not being on WrestleMania is that he wouldn’t have to wrestle in Dallas… KO took another shot when a fan on Twitter asked Owens his thoughts on Victoria, TX, the hometown of Austin, to which Owens responded with: “Sounds like a really lame place.” Owens also regularly uses the Stone Cold Stunner, which of course was Stone Cold's signature move. Between the finisher and the recent promo shots, Maybe something is already beginning to brew and AUSTIN VS OWENS is going down. WrestleMania 38 will be a two-night event in Austin’s home state of Texas on Saturday, April 2, and Sunday, April 3. The show is being held at AT&T Stadium in Arlington also known as the home of the NFL Cowboys team.

Welcome back to Sidenote Suplex.

It seems like morale in WWE is near an all-time low following The Royal Rumble 2022, and based on various reports, there seems to be many several “discouraged and disappointed” wrestlers up and down the roster. There is allegedly a lot of talent frustrated with the companies current direction in 2022. One unnamed employee allegedly stated quote " it feels like nothing matters outside of a handful of wrestlers. Several wrestlers feel like they are “less heard” than ever before, and their attempts to communicate with Vince McMahon are either dismissed, ignored, or end up working against them. They often have to resort to social media tactics to be heard. Recently Mustafa Ali, made an announcement requesting his release from the company. . Ali posted a short video on his Twitter page.

Ali’s abilities have not swayed and he often is posting his newest wrestling sequences and random training videos may be to not only remind WWE of what they got..but to let other promotions know what they may be missing and need..It's mind-boggling to think ALI is not being used to his fullest potential and reinforces the current behind-the-scenes news with WWE only truly caring about a handful of talent..What's next for ALI? LIKE SHARE SUBSCRIBE and stay tuned for more from SIDENOTE SUPLEX.

Welcome back to Sidenote Suplex on Youtube.

Trending Now: Nia Jax holds nothing back in her recent interview on Renne Paquette's The Sessions Podcast. Nia Jax's seven-year WWE run turned her into a popular name among the wrestling world. She was a two-time Women's Tag Team Champion and won her only RAW Women's title at WrestleMania 34. She also participated in the Men's Royal Rumble in 2019. Savelina Fanene Formally known as Nia Jax in WWE joined Renee and discussed a variety of topics from her time in WWE and what she has been up to since departing WWE. Nia Jax was one of the more shocking names released on November 4, 2021. Lina discusses the shift behind the scenes that led to numerous releases and the overall vibe of the company at that time as well as Vince McMahon asking Nia to become a locker room leader. Another topic of discussion on the recent episode discusses if Nia was indeed a quote "Botch Queen". Lina breaks down the infamous Becky Lynch broken nose botch that occurred when The SmackDown women’s division invaded the RAW women’s division six days before Survivor Series in 2018. Jax legitimately broke Lynch’s nose and gave her a concussion during the brawl, which meant The Man could not face Ronda Rousey at the pay-per-view. That discussion segued into the topic of the August 2021 infamous match with Charlotte Flair on Monday Night Raw. During the bout, everything seemingly got a little bit too real, with a series of “shoot” punches thrown and the two women looking increasingly annoyed at the situation.

Jax revealed that she was one of the many former WWE stars who was offered to come back for the 2022 Women's Royal Rumble match. Jax explained she wasn't particularly happy with the offer given that WWE had yet to send her back many of her belongings in the months since her release. Jax went on to recall a situation with an unnamed star that saw her “handle her” at a live event, which upset her rival and “some other psycho.”

Welcome Back To Sidenote Suplex. Throughout 2021 rumors began to build around the possibility of wrestling legend X PAC real name Sean Waltman returning to in-ring action.. X-PAC also known as the 123 KID early in his WWE career, is a two-time WWE Hall Of Famer who was a pivotal player in many memorable moments throughout wrestling history. Most known for his work with the NWO and DX Factions, Waltman is also a part of the infamous KLIQ, the behind-the-scenes influential group that consisted of some of the biggest pro-wrestling stars including Triple H, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, And Shawn Micheals. AND IF YOU SEEN THE 2022 RUMBLE YOU WOULD have SEEN THAT WWE didn’t pick up the phone and call Waltman it seems unfortunate but not surprisingly.. Shout out to GCW for recognizing that Legends still hold marquee value and utilizing legend can set themselves apart as well as helping to revitalize names of yesteryears, which in turn can also provide financial help to the legends.I appreciate GCW FOR THE FACT THAT they are not sitting on their hands when it comes to this cause time is of the essence no one is getting younger It was at the recent GCW “The WRLD ON GCW” event where X-PAC made his return to save Joey Janela from Matt Cardona and Brian Myers. Waltman looked healthy and dropped a couple of his patented moves. And now officially booked for the GCW Welcome to Heartbreak event in LOS ANGELES..THE TEAM OF JOEY JANELA AND XPAC WILL FACE THE MAJOR PLAYERS MATT CARDONA AND BRIAN MYERS IN A TAG TEAM MATCH. THAT OF COURSE WILL BE AVAILABLE ON FITE TV.. WILL THE REUNION TOUR STOP THERE? OR IS A STOP to AEW ON THE HORIZON?

After a more than two-year hiatus, WWE 2K will return this coming March 2022. The last game in the main series was the notorious WWE 2K20. The title was so poorly received that WWE 2K21 was canceled and the arcade spinoff Battlegrounds was released in its place. riddled with bugs aNd glitches, WWE 2k20 Players quickly gave up on the release and the overall feeling reached a point where the game was deemed so bad that it was better to laugh and of course meme, rather than get mad about it. People began to share their experiences of 2K20 online, which varied from Superstars levitating above the ring, to glitching out of the game entirely. The pressure is now on for WWE 2K22 to meet the current video games market of demand and to create the user experience that has been missing. The official trailers feature a number of superstar athletes including ricochet, Rey Mysterio, Sasha banks Bailey rhea Ripley Roman Reigns, Kane, Bobby Lashley Kofi Kingston Drew McIntyre, EDGE among others.

Popular game modes include the returning 2K Showcase - starring Rey Mysterio. With Universe Mode and the upgraded Creation Suite, WWE 2K22 offers players the ability to fully customize their WWE experience down to the smallest details. WWE 2K22 will introduce new modes to the WWE 2K experience: MyGM and MyFACTION. It was revealed that GM Mode (now known as ‘MyGM’) would be making a return for the first time in fourteen years since SmackDown vs. Raw 2008 and that the game would feature redesigned gameplay controls.

Welcome back to Sidenote Suplex. ALTHOUGH WWE IS STILL WIDELY CONSIDERED THE LEADER IN PRO WRESTLING/SPORTS ENTERTAINMENT ..A.E.W. All Elite Wrestling HAS QUICKLY ESTABLISHED THEMSELVES AS AN ALTERNATIVE BRAND WHICH IN TURN MADE WWE MAYBE NOT WORRY BUT AT LEAST PAY ATTENTION TO THE NEW COMPANY..AND A BIG CONTRIBUTOR TO THAT IS, OF COURSE, THE FRESH TALENT being FEATURED ON AEW.A VARIETY OF MALE AND FEMALE TALENT IS FLOURISHING OVER AT AEW AND/OR BEGINNING TO FLOURISH AND GAIN MOMENTUM AND ALTHOUGH SOME OF THE SPOTLIGHTED TALENT MAY STILL BE GREEN IN TERMS OF WORKING IN THE BUSINESS AND THE RING,, THAT, OF COURSE, WON'T STOP FROM WWE THROWING THEIR MONEY AROUND TO ACQUIRE DESIRABLE ATHLETES FOR THEIR PRODUCT..BUT WILL THIS BE THE BEST MOVE FOR THESE AEW TALENTS? One name that is said to be a favorite among those behind the scenes in WWE is Wardlow. It was noted by Wrestlevotes that WWE will likely have a major interest in luring Wardlow away from AEW when his contract is due as there are several people within WWE who love his potential. Wardlow signed with ALL ELITE WRESTLING in August 2019 after a few years on the indie scene. WHO ELSE COULD YOU POSSIBLY SEE FROM AEW IN WWE ? Jade Cargill is a sight to see. She may be green but that's because she's money. Must see TV. Will WWE eventually make a bid on her creativity? THUNDER ROSA HAS THE KNOWLEDGE AND IN RING BACKGROUND TO MAKE AN EASY TRANSITION AND COULD BRING SOME EXCITEMENT.. WHAT ABOUT LEGIT LAYLA HIRSCH? MAYBE A FEUD WITH SHAYNA BASZLER IN THE FUTURE? ALL SPECULATION BUT LET ME KNOW ALL YOUR THOUGHTS IN THE COMMENTS BELOW AND who you think would be a good fit for WWE FROM AEW….STAY TUNED FOR MORE INDY AND PRO WRESTLING NEWS FROM SIDENOTE SUPLEX.

Welcome back to Sidenote Suplex. Breaking WWE Talent News. Another shocking release comes out of nowhere for fans of Toni Storm. Toni storm created quite the buzz within WWE and is a former Mae Young Classic tournament winner, and NXT UK women’s champion. Video packages for Toni Storms call up to Smackdown began in July and she debuted on the July 23rd episode of Smackdown defeating Zelina Vega. Many criticized WWE as she would lose to Zelina Vega in October in the first round of the Queens Crown tournament in which Zelina would later win. Storm recently challenged Charlotte Flair for the SmackDown Women's Championship on the Christmas Eve episode of SmackDown but was defeated by Charlotte. She has been competing on the WWE live event circuit, most recently wrestling on the December 28th live event that took place in Washington, DC.

Toni recently appeared on the Out of Character podcast and had talked about being in dreaded catering: “Stuck in catering” basically meaning you sit in the back, while creative or the company has nothing for you.

It was noted that Storm flew herself home from Baltimore this morning. WWE is in town for tonight’s live event. A memo was allegedly issued to WWE talent this afternoon, announcing Storm’s departure, but it did not mention budget cuts as the reason, which has been the norm as of late with the various WWE releases we’ve seen in 2021.

Welcome back to Sidenote Suplex on Youtube. Some Sad News for WWE DVD Collectors as it has been announced that WWE DVDs and Blu-rays will no longer be offered in the United States starting in 2022. WWE Home Video has had a physical media presence with DVDs since 1999, and With VHS dating back even further around 1985 (which were under Coliseum Video). Over the years WWF/E would release their content on physical media via several formats Some including rarities that were not available via the streaming platforms. This includes exclusive content such as interviews and never-before-seen matches. The first WWE DVDs ever released were WrestleMania 15 and one on Stone Cold Steve Austin titled Hell Yeah Stone Colds Saga continues. This recent news means 2021 will have been the last year for WWE Home Video in its main market, which also includes Canada too since those releases were closely aligned with the US.

As it stands now, Survivor Series 2021 will be the final US WWE DVD release, which will be available on December 28th. Drew McIntyre’s DVD is also still to come this month, which will mark the last Superstar-themed DVD release in the US, and is scheduled for December 14th. If you’re in the UK you’ll be able to get the Day 1 PPV and the next Royal Rumble on DVD

The New 1996 Prelude to the Attitude Era DVD and in the UK the reboot of 2008’s “The Rock: The Most Electrifying Man in Sports Entertainment”, 3-disc DVD set which was re-released with additional content to make it a 4-disc DVD set were some special exclusive DVDs for 2021.

Although it looks to be the end of an era, an upside to this is those in the collector community may benefit. Scarcity equals rarity.

AEW Professional wrestler Jon Moxley can now add author to his resume, with the recent release of his debut autobiography, Mox. The autobiography Mox recounts Moxley’s journey into the world of professional wrestling and his beginnings growing up in Cincinnati, Ohio. To celebrate the book’s release. “Ride alongside Jon Moxley as he retraces some of the highways traveled on his remarkable journey. Revel in the never-before-told stories about his early life in Cincinnati, Ohio; the gritty independent wrestling scene where he cut his teeth; the complicated corporate landscape of the WWE where he bucked against authority; and the rebellious upstart AEW, where he won the championship in 2020 and was finally free to achieve the vision of the wrestler he’d always wanted to be. More than a backstage pass into the arena, MOX is a ticket into the ring. Once inside, you’ll never look at pro wrestling the same again.” Jon Moxley, a prominent wrestler in AEW who previously held their world championship belt and was also a WWE champion, is entering rehab for alcohol. The news was announced by AEW founder Tony Khan late Tuesday night. “Jon Moxley has allowed me to share with you that he is entering an inpatient alcohol treatment program,” Khan tweeted. “Jon is a beloved member of the AEW family. We all stand with him and Renee, and all of his family and friends, as he shifts his focus to recovery.

Moxley, whose real name is Jonathan Good, is married to Renee Paquette, who was a broadcaster in WWE under the name Renee Young. The two had their first child, a daughter this past June. Thanks for this outpouring of support. Jon is every bit of the badass we all know him to be. I couldn’t be more proud of him for getting to proper help he needs, and being given the space to put his health first. Couldn’t possibly love this man more — Renee Paquette stated on Twitter.

Ring Of Honor has announced plans to go on hiatus after the Final Battle pay-per-view in December. A tweet posted on the official company account notes that they now find themselves in a position where they need to make some changes after not running events for 18 months because of the pandemic. At the end of the statement, they noted that they “anticipate” a return in April for Super Card of Honor and a new “fan-focused product.” Dave Meltzer also noted that ROH will come out of their hiatus operating more as an independent promotion. This will be the same as larger indie promotions like PWG and GCW where they bring in top talents for shows. However, this will make it difficult for champions as there is no guarantee they can make every show, and there is a chance they could get signed and not be able to drop the title on their show. For example, when MSK was signed to WWE, they were PWG World Tag Team Champions at the time and never lost the titles on a PWG show.

Sinclair Broadcasting has reached a deal with Women of Wrestling with programming to start airing in fall 2022. It was previously announced new episodes of WOW will launch in weekend syndication beginning in the fall of 2022 on ViacomCBS stations. WOW announced its relaunch on October 6 with Jeanie Buss heading the organization. AJ Lee will serve as an executive producer.

Producer/writer for the Dark Side OF The Ring series Evan Husney Recently posted a comment on Twitter hinting at a possible future episode of Dark Side OF The Ring. Critically acclaimed and controversial Vice Dark Side of The Ring Series is currently on Season 3 and has received raved reviews on its recent episodes featuring the stories of Chris Kanyon, The wrestling promotion FMW and XPW and the story of Luna Vachon. A post on wrestler Chris Colt influenced Evan Husneys response via Twitter. Evan Husney reposted the Chris colt post and left the comment “SEASON 4?” Colt was a unique performer who wore Alice Cooper-type makeup and was unique at the time in that he used intro music as well as exit music which was less common back in the day. He would make his way to the ring to "Welcome to My Nightmare" while leaving to "No More Mr. Nice Guy", both songs by Alice Cooper. In the Fall of 1976, Ronnie Dupree died of a heart attack during a gig as a ring announcer. He was in his early forties. Colt carried on his career as a singles wrestler. He dropped the biker gimmick and re-invented his character as a hard rocker. He was active until 1986 but took on fewer gigs over time. In an infamous incident in Phoenix that took place in 1975, Chris Colt hallucinated during a cage match seeing spiders all around. He fled the venue fighting with both the fans and arena security. Colt passed away in Seattle in 1996. Many feel Colt was way ahead of his time in so many aspects.. In terms of the art form that is wrestling, he used entrance music years before it became popular, outrageous costumes, and face make-up as well. He always worked the crowd and even innovated moves that were spectacular at the time; his third rope flying elbow broke ground as a finisher in an age when a body slam was a viable finish. Is this an episode you would want to see included in Dark Side of The ring season 4?

A scary moment occurred during the Saturday Night Edition of AEW Dynamite when Lance Archer appeared to be badly hurt during his AEW World Title tournament match against Eddie Kingston.  Late in the match, Archer attempted a moon sault off the top rope but Kingston moved and Archer landed on his head. More specifically on a weird spot more towards the tip of the forehead, With his weight crashing down on the neck. The referee and Doc Sampson checked on Archer by ringside as it looked like the match was about to be called off.  Archer then rolled back in the ring and Kingston quickly rolled him up for the pin. Archer was checked on again after the match was over. Although not known how severe the injury is , Archer wasn’t able to immediately get back up on his feet and looked visibly stunned and shook.  Lance Archer responded later on via Twitter and stated:  "Listen. On Friday’s WWE SmackDown, Becky Lynch and Charlotte were set to exchange titles as each woman are now on opposite brands, due to the new WWE draft being implemented. Charlotte was to hand the title over to Lynch, but it ended up being thrown on the mat which was alledgely not planned and off script. Lynch threw her title at Charlotte hard, which was also not planned. Once Sasha Banks got into the segment, things went ahead as normal. The two Superstars That Being Becky and Charlotte , reportedly were heated backstage, but didn’t get physical. As per the PWINSIDER report, when Flair and Lynch returned backstage after their Championship Exchange segment, there “were loud words between the two” over Flair allegedly disrespecting Lynch by “trying to make her look bad” during the segment. Prior to the show, Flair had reportedly voiced concerns about the idea of a segment featuring her and Lynch trading championship belts. Flair made it clear that she “didn’t want to look weak” nor did she want her title reign to look weak. Despite those concerns, her segment with Lynch went on as planned. The show-closing segment with Lynch and Flair, hosted by Sonya Deville, was interrupted by Sasha Banks, right after Flair proposed a “Winner Takes All” match. Lynch ended up leaving and promising to see one of them at the WWE Survivor Series pay-per-view on November 21. In a report by Alex McCarthy of talkSPORT, Charlotte was supposed to play “cat and mouse” with the title with Lynch getting a hand on it before Charlotte would pull it back. There was a quote “timing mistake” between the two that caused the title to drop. But Was it a Timing mistake or just EGO? The report noted behind-the-scenes Lynch and Charlotte have a “strained” friendship. Charlotte wasn’t a fan of being called “plastic” in a promo a couple years ago and things have been tense ever since. Back at the gorilla position — where Vince McMahon was — Charlotte walked through the room and didn’t talk to Vince about what happened. Vince was described as being not happy with that. Charlotte was also apparently heading to Orlando for AEW Dynamite to support Andrade. In other Charlotte backstage news, she pitched that Bianca Belair wins their match on Monday’s RAW that ended up in a DQ after Charlotte used a chair on Belair. Charlotte is said to be a huge fan of Belair and thought the finish “killed what could have been a big win” for Belair.

Welcome back to Sidenote Suplex. The venues are often smaller and the crowds often unruly. A vibe of the chaos of the original ECW product. Although not for every wrestling fan GCW channels a different side of the art and sport and the unique product has gained much attention and in turn, helped steadily grown the company…GCW put on one of their biggest events in company history tonight at the Showboat Hotel in Atlantic City, New Jersey, headlined by GCW World Champion Jon Moxley facing off against former champion Nick Gage in a death match for the title. It was also the night of surprises at the GCW Fight Club event as AEW And ROH Stars Made Surprise Appearances. The show got underway with a change in the opening match as NJPW and newly signed AEW star Lio Rush was added to the opening match between Alex Zayne and Ninja Mack, making it a triple threat bout. After announcing his retirement from wrestling on June 8, Rush continues to fulfill his NJPW commitments before officially returning and signing with AEW on September 30. Lio wasn't the only AEW star to make a surprise appearance. Later in the night, Thunder Rosa joined a six-way scramble, turning it into a seven-way contest. Rosa has made appearances at GCW events, but this marked her first official match for the company. ROH Ring Of Honor legends The Briscoes (Mark & Jay Briscoe) also showed up, stepping to GCW Tag Team Champions The Second Gear Crew (Mance Warner & Matthew Justice)

Welcome back to Sidenote Suplex. Wow, Women of Wrestling is returning to television and officially announced that they've signed a multi-year deal with ViacomCBS. WOW!, is a women's professional wrestling promotion founded in 2000 by David McLane, previously the founder of GLOW Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling. Wow is owned by McLane and Los Angeles Lakers owner and president Jeanie Buss The promotion launched a series of syndicated programs in 2000-01. On June 2020, it was announced that AXS TV and WOW parted ways following the network's acquisition by Anthem Sports & Entertainment, the parent company of Impact Wrestling. New episodes of WOW will begin on syndication in the fall of 2022. Previous seasons will be available on CW Seed streaming and Pluto TV platforms in December 2021. Former WWE champion AJ Lee has announced her much-anticipated return to the wrestling business. Lee, now working under her real name AJ Mendez, has joined the relaunched WOW – Women of Wrestling brand. Mendez will be the colour commentator on the show, and will also act as an executive producer alongside owner Jeanie Buss.

PWInsider reports Mendez (who is the wife of CM Punk) decided to sign with WOW instead of WWE and AEW because of how much time a mainstream promotion would take from her other projects. She also liked the deal offered as an executive allowing her to continue her other ventures in Hollywood. But It is unlikely she will return to the ring due to neck issues. WOW World Champion The Beast and former champion Tessa Blanchard will lead the roster for the revamped WOW. Other wrestlers to be featured: Charity Kane, Danni Bee and Killa Kate, among others.

Welcome back to Sidenote Suplex. In this episode, we'll talk about the Keith Lee bearcat rebranding. Recently, Keith Lee’s ring name has officially changed to Keith ‘Bearcat’ Lee and officially debuted on the September 27, 2021, episode of Monday Night Raw. Lee defeated Akira Tozawa in an aggressive squash match on RAW, while sporting new in-ring gear. Now, remember this is after Lee came back and faced and lost to Bobby Lashly in July. Then lost to Karrion Kross then got his win back.. Now we have this new moniker… It seems the WWE main roster gatekeepers haven’t seen Keith Lee as marketable.. But have they really given him a chance? Recently it was revealed that WWE Wanted to use Adam Cole as a manager for LEE But Cole as we now know has since left and joined AE All Elite Wrestling.. But would THAT have been the right move? And Why is WWE so hush-hush about his real-life relationship with Mia Yim.. How about her as a Manager? You know similar to The Rusev/Lana gimmick? The “Bearcat” nickname, is believed to be inspired by Bearcat Wright, a popular African American/ADOS pro wrestler from the 1950s and 1960s, who was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame’s Legacy Wing in 2017, or Bearcat Brown, an innovative African American/ADOS wrestler who usually worked the Memphis area in the 1960s and 1970s. More news on Bearcat Wright: In the 1960s, racial tensions were boiling all over the country, yet African-American/ADOS wrestler Bearcat Wright was immensely popular as a babyface. A mere five days before Martin Luther King's "I Have A Dream" speech, Bearcat Wright won the WWA World Heavyweight Championship in Los Angeles, California. Many wrestling historians credit Wright for helping to desegregate the business. In front of a live audience in Gary, Indiana, Bearcat declared that he would no longer participate in segregated wrestling. This controversial promo got Wright suspended by the Indiana State Athletic Commission. However, his charisma and work ethic were too strong and unique for promoters to ignore. Bearcat was an electrifying performer for the time. His in-ring arsenal would include flying dropkicks, spin kicks, and leaps from the top rope. These types of moves were rare for the 1950s and 60s, but for a man of 6'6" and 260 pounds, they were impossible or so was thought.

But here's the problem…Why are we guessing? For a company who’s known for their cinematic work, as seen in the 24 series, in their cinematic matches Most notable maybe Aj styles vs Undertaker , WWE Icons series, The WWE untold series which is basically a history lesson ..With all of this potential exercised I simply ask.. WHERE IS THE VIDEO PACKAGE.!? . You know something explaining The origins of this name and the rich history behind it..?? The video package tool is extremely useful for all ages to get something over and have something properly explained and in turn, can only help the performer/athlete.. Unless the gimmicks not meant to be … I have to ask myself will this all work out? I ask myself that because I don’t know if this was even Kieth lee’s idea. In a recent Tweet, Keith stated No matter the task asked of me IAM STILL LIMITLESS. This could reference the fact that it wasn't Keith's idea. If WWE is going to represent Black history and going to make a financial gain off of it..Should it not be handled with the utmost respect..I mean give it its full justice and really dive in.. And if this is not in reference to the original bearcats…Then what is the meaning behind the name?

Welcome back to Sidenote Suplex. FOX’s WWE King of the Ring preview special will be titled “King of the Ring Countdown.” As noted, FOX is scheduled to air a King of the Ring preview special during the weekend of October 1 – October 3, to hype the upcoming return of the WWE King of the Ring Tournament. In an update, FOX 5 in the New York City area now has the special listed for Sunday, October 3 at 4:30pm ET. It will air in different timeslots depending on your market, so check your local listings for more info. The King of the Ring countdown special is scheduled to air for 1 hour. It’s being reported that the finals for the 2021 King of the Ring Tournament and the finals for the first-ever Queen of the Ring tournament will be held at WWE Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia on Thursday, October 21. The tournaments would reportedly begin in early October, incorporated with the SmackDown season premiere and the RAW season premiere episodes. WWE’s Crown Jewel 2021 is WWE's next pay-per-view which will take place in Saudi Arabia, and the company's first in the country since February 2020. While the promotion was initially prevented from holding women's matches in the country, this changed when Natalya wrestled Lacey Evans at Crown Jewel 2019. Fightful reports that the promotion no longer sees holding such bouts in Saudi Arabia as a hurdle, believing they have "broken the barrier" there. At the event, both women wore full-body suits and T-shirts instead of normal ring attire, due to the country's conservative dress policy. A bottle was also thrown at Natalya on her way to the ring and it was also reported that the WWE crew and talent experienced travel issues returning to the United States in which some news outlets reported that they were held in a potential “Hostage” situation But the reports are conflicting.

Welcome back to Sidenote Suplex. American Gladiators, the classic competition series that originally premiered in 1989, is taking another shot at the obstacle course. Deadline understands that MGM has teamed with WWE for a reimagined version of the non-scripted series that will feature a slew of WWE wrestling superstars. Mark Burnett and his team are currently pitching the rebooted series, which is based on the format created by Johnny Ferraro and Dan Carr, to broadcasters and platforms. It seems like good timing for the Hollywood studio and Vince McMahon’s wrestling federation given the success of physical competition series in the non-scripted space from American Ninja Warrior to Floor Is Lava and Holey Moley, as well as the growing focus on WWE with Netflix’s interactive film Escape the Undertaker featuring the new day and a documentary series about Vince McMahon as well as Blumhouse TV scripted series The United States of America Vs. Vince McMahon in the works. Deadline also revealed this year that a documentary about American Gladiators has been set as an upcoming “30 for 30” documentary from ESPN and Vice Studios. American Gladiators is considered one of the first reality competition series. It pitted a cast of amateur athletes against each other as well as the shows’ own gladiators across a range of challenges including a tough obstacle course. The series initially ran between 1989-1996 in syndication and was rebooted on NBC in 2008 with WWE wrestling star Hulk Hogan and Muhammad Ali’s daughter Laila Ali hosting. A successful international remake also aired on ITV in the UK between 1992-2000 with a revival on Sky in 2008. There have been 12 international adaptations airing in 95 countries, as well as 114 arena tours. It is the latest attempt to bring back the franchise after MGM, Ferraro and Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg teamed up in 2018 to shop a remake that ultimately did not make it to air. MGM and WWE will serve as executive producers on the project.

Welcome back to Sidenote Suplex All Elite Wrestling is teaming up with the Owen Hart Foundation to honor the professional wrestling career of Owen Hart. This includes holding an Owen Hart Cup tournament, as well as allowing Owen to be included in the upcoming AEW video game. AEW and The Owen Hart Foundation Enter Into A Relationship to Honor World-Renowned Wrestler Owen Hart’s Legacy Owen Hart was a beloved athlete that tragically passed away in 1999. In the 21 years since his passing, the discussion about honoring Owen's legacy and giving fans a way to fondly share their memories of Owen has always been a touchy subject. Because of the way Owen Hart passed, the surviving members of his immediate family have always been adamant about not allowing the WWE to profit off of his legacy. However, Owen Hart has been inducted into other wrestling Hall of Fames and was even on the roster for the Legends of Wrestling game series produced by Acclaim in the mid-2000s. In the past when WWE has used Owen Hart's name in DVD's and promotional videos it brought upon lawsuits from Martha Hart who once sued Linda and Vince McMahon for doing just that--using Owen's name in projects that WWE profited from and reportedly did not pay the royalties from those projects to Owen's children and estate. Owen's brother Bret Hart joined the CBS 'In This Corner' podcast in 2018 and the WWE Hall Of Famer voiced his opinion on many topics including Owen not being in WWE's Hall Of Fame after so many years have gone by. Bret did partially place the blame on Martha Hart as he stated that instead of keeping Owen's memory alive, he feels that she is doing more to erase it. Martha Hart responded to Bret Hart's comments with a detailed statement explaining that she refuses to work with WWE because they want to exploit Owen's image for financial purposes. "The suggestion by Bret Hart that I am “erasing” the memory of my late husband, Owen Hart, is reckless, irresponsible, and clearly untrue. Bret’s comments are rooted in the fact that I have steadfastly refused to work with the WWE to exploit Owen’s image for commercial gain. Owen was an incredible entertainer and I know that his many fans around the world enjoyed his wrestling career immensely. I encourage them to continue to do so. But I am firm in my belief that the WWE was responsible for Owen’s death. As a result, I cannot and will not support any efforts by the WWE to profit from Owen’s memory. As AEW grows, it seems to be gaining a reputation of truly loving and caring about the athletes that partake in their product. CM punk has stated that a big part of him choosing AEW was due to how the company carefully handled the passing of Jon Huber aka Brodie Lee and known in WWE as Luke Harper. Maybe this was also a deciding factor in Owen’s family feeling comfortable enough to embark in this partnership with AEW.

Welcome back to Sidenotesuplex on Youtube. After weeks of teasers, A New era of NXT is here.. But is it your particular cup of tea? A multi-colored logo breaks away from the black and gold branding.. As I often mention, WWE seems to be honing in on a younger audience … This multi-colored look seems to be more tailored to the demographic… The crowd setup is also a change from the recent caged gritty environment.. We saw many fresh faces debut on the New NXT… Bron Breakker (briefly known as Rex Steiner), who is the son of the legendary Rick Steiner (WCW Steiner brothers fame) made his debut on the show, interrupting LA Knight's opening promo. Knight was willing to give Bron the opportunity of a lifetime, facing him in the first match on NXT 2.0. Breakker made an impactful debut, making relatively short work of LA Knight, who was scheduled to compete for the NXT Championship in the fatal four-way main event against Kyle O'Reilly, Tommaso Ciampa, and Pete Dunne. This left many scratching their head…Again why does LA Knight need to be chosen for this segment ..Does this help or hurt LA Knight?… La Knight is going to shine regardless, in which he did later on in the main event…But why… Sidenote: Do you think the Bron Breakker name is an ode to one of Vince's favorites…BRAKKUS ..I kid I kid But why is WWE so scary when it comes to showing reference to legends namesake? That's always a missed storytelling opportunity. Drake Maverick unfortunately looks promising in becoming the NXT 2.0 jobber as he was destroyed by Ridge Holland.. Carmelo Hayes winner of the NXT breakout tournament champion is money and was featured tonight..I hope NXT does right by him … We saw great intensity from the creed brothers and I have to ask..Why can't we see more of this type of intensity throughout WWE and will this soon be toned down? Remember before we get too excited ..This was only the first episode..Not trying to be all doom and gloom here…Im just conscious in reality and haven’t forgotten things like WWE ECW.. But I will give props where they are due of course..And Keeping the belt on a Veteran Can be a positive for many reasons..And Although there was love in the air with the INDEX wedding… The real love story was the reunion of Goldy and Ciampa…Kyle O really was beat up backstage by Dunn and Holland and replacing his spot was another fresh talent Von Wagner…. Ciampa ended up winning the Gold and Faced off with Bron Breaker at the end of the show.. So looks like as of Now Bron Breakker Brakkus will be getting a push And hey may even be champion by next week You never know.. We saw a rebrand from Mandy Rose and she was featured in a 6 women match ..Ex Titan Games star Ivy Nile was Introduced with the Diamond Mine faction….The new Brooklyn brawler character Tony D Angelo had a promo vignette and will premiere soon…And B-Fab of the Hit Row Faction picked up a win in her in-ring debut….We also saw Josh Briggs and Brooks Jensen Who sidenote is the son of former WWE tag team champion Bull Buchanan Take on Imperium with Imperium getting the win…. So was it your cup of tea? Although Dubbed NXT 2.0 this really is what ..NXT version 4 or 5… Do you think this version will outshine the rest? Do you have faith in Team Vince and Where will Samoa Joe fit in all of this?

Trending this week in pro wrestling: Olympic gold medalist wrestler Gable Steveson has signed a multi-year deal with WWE, one that looks to be significantly accommodating to Steveson as he wants to finish college. WWE announced that 21-year-old Gable Steveson will be a part of the company and has signed a unique contract with the company, their first-ever NCAA NIL (name, image, likeness) deal. It was noted that while signed to the exclusive agreement, Steveson will join the WWE roster while defending his NCAA title for the University of Minnesota. And Side note: that could be a good look ratings-wise if he appears on television for both brands. NCAA and WWE could benefit from that depending on the draw of his name. But let's continue on…. ESPN’s Mike Coppinger reports that Steveson’s deal is a multi-year contract, but it was not clear on the exact length. The deal will allow Gable to attend the University of Minnesota for his senior year, and defend the Division I national championship at heavyweight. Gable appeared at ringside for WWE NXT “Takeover: Stand and Deliver” during WrestleMania 37 weekend, and was also featured in the ring at SummerSlam with fellow Olympic gold medalist wrestler Tamyra Mensah-Stock. WWE also recently announced a new class of Performance Center recruits that have officially reported to Orlando to begin training for the company. Bobby Steveson Brother of Gable is also in this new class of recruits. He is the older brother to WWE prospect Gable Steveson. Bobby Steveson is 6-feet tall and weighs 220 pounds. He wrestled at the University of Minnesota as well.

After the match, Omega got on the mic and proclaimed there to be no one on his level. He and The Elite proceeded to beat up Christian Cage. Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus came to his aid but the numbers were still against them. Adam Cole then came out, much to the surprise of everyone in attendance. Although If you’ve been following closely to the history of Bullet Club and the Elite, This was the perfect setup to introduce Cole. The former NXT Champion teased attacking Omega but suddenly superkicked Jungle Boy and hugged his old friends. Cole grabbed a microphone and said that The Elite is the most dominant group in the history of the wrestling business and that no one can stop them. Soon after, the familiar Flight of the Valkyries song played, and out came the man once dubbed ‘The Leader of the YES Movement,’ Bryan Danielson aka WWE’s Daniel Bryan. He and Jurassic Express cleared the ring and stood tall along with Christian to end the show. Bryan, who had spent the last decade-plus with WWE departed the company earlier this year. Cole had been with NXT since 2017 and not only served as a founding member of Undisputed Era but also as the longest-reigning champion in NXT history. Cole had his last in-ring appearance with NXT at NXT Takeover 36, and he had not signed a new contract as of that weekend. On the September 3rd edition of WWE Smackdown, there was a commercial for the September 14th edition of NXT. In addition to the new logo which you may have seen recently, there were teases of what the new Capitol Wrestling Center will look like. The weekly WWE NXT show will reportedly not be directly produced by WWE Chairman & CEO Vince McMahon and Senior Vice President & Executive Director Bruce Prichard with the upcoming revamp that kicks off this month but they will be closely overseeing all the new changes very closely.  McMahon and Prichard will be behind the big decisions for the NXT brand, but not the smaller ones. They will also be responsible for the marketing, promotion and direction of the NXT brand. It was also said that NXT will be like “the old NXT” moving forward.  While McMahon and Prichard won’t be directly producing the weekly NXT TV show, Vince remains in charge of everything in WWE, and there have been and will continue to be more big-picture decisions on the NXT brand that are made by higher-ups in the company and those outside of the NXT circle, including decisions related to creative, branding and marketing.

Welcome back to Sidenote Suplex on Youtube. The advertised matches for this past Monday Night Raw were changed last minute and it seems a new direction is being taken with Charlotte as of right now. Many thought after the appearance of Alexa Bliss lAST week that we would see a build of Bliss vs Charlotte..But plans as they do in WWE often change and we got a matchup between Charlotte and Niz Jax. Nia Jax ended up getting the win over WWE Raw Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair in a non-title match on Raw, but it was a rough and awkward match that many fans were talking about even Mick Foley himself didn’t understand what he was seeing. In the Match, there seemed to be a shoot situation that went down With Charlotte and Nia dishing out some real blows. It seemed that both women appeared to be agitated with each other. There were hard slaps and kicks towards the end. Flair stopped a Samoan Drop spot and did an awkward Scorpion Death Drop. Fans even speculated that they were shooting on each other as their frustration continued to build. PWinsider.com provided some details on what happened in the match after talking with several sources. Per the report, the match did go out of control and there were some real slaps and punches thrown after there was some sort of breakdown in communication. A brief but legitimate confrontation inside the ring. Once the match was coming towards the end, they got back on the same page and went to the original finish. After the match, it was said there was no issue backstage between the two. Following Jax’s win, it appears WWE will book a title match between Flair and Jax at the Extreme Rules pay-per-view event next month, although that has yet to be confirmed. The was Two different moments where Jax dumped Flair unevenly on her head or the side of her shoulder. The Bump wasn’t flat back at all. What was different last night though than from past situations, was that Flair appeared to be having none of it and noticeably gave Jax some "receipts". Charlotte Flair looked pissed after the botched slam by Nia Jax and after taking a moment to compose herself, responded by repeatedly slapping Jax in the face. It looked like at one point Charlotte was getting ready to throw a solid closed fist punch, but held off. Nia was making her presence known throughout raw on last nights episode but did she take it too far…..once again? This isn’t the first time Nia has injured women talent in the WWE. She has been reported as allegedly inadvertently injuring Alexa Bliss, Kairi Sane, Zelina Vega, Bayley, Ember Moon, Mandy Rose and of course Becky Lynch, in recent years in the ring. But Is she getting a pass? If Charlotte did get injured last night, how would WWE feel? Would they regret their booking? That is one of their current bread and butter wrestlers of the company. Meaning someone they can count on for the show to go on. This is why the belt is often on her…Things of course happen in the ring..but are these incidents more than accidents? Is this more carelessness and a disregard for consequences?

The date of August 20th 2021 will go down in Pro Wrestling history… CM Punk arrives in All Elite Wrestling during AEW RAMPAGE on TNT Televison. On August 20, 2021, CM Punk made his AEW debut on The First Dance edition of Rampage. This was his first time in the ring since leaving WWE back in 2014. Punk immediately thanked the audience in a very emotional moment for the 7 years of chanting his name. Now, he is looking towards the future and it is not part-time. CM Punk returned at the house made famous by Michael Jordan and made his return channeling the great Jordan. Michael Jordan famously issued the same "I'm back" statement when he returned to the NBA in March 1995 after retiring following the 1993 season following his third straight NBA Championship. Cult of personality hit and the pop was felt through the TV. Punk walked out to a beautiful reception. There was shock….There were tears…What many fans thought would never happen was indeed unfolding in front of our eyes….

Punk opened up the second episode of AEW Rampage by saying he couldn't explain everything now, but he will have time Wednesdays, Fridays, and four Saturdays/Sundays a year. CM Punk coming to AEW wasn't a spur-of-the-moment decision. During a post-show media scrum, Punk was asked about the decision to return now and what has changed in the past couple of years. He said the following: "I'll go ahead and spoil that I've been talking to Tony for probably a year and a half about this. Some girls are easy to get into bed. I am not. I need to do wined and dined. That's not, 'oh I need more money and less dates' and 'oh I need this and I need that.' It was literally just talking to Tony and getting to know him, and the more people that he employed that I knew, I'd ask them questions and they'd tell me things.

I've been in the game for a few minutes, you know, so I've seen that. I think I traced it back to, especially since the downfall of ECW, every six months to a year, somebody pops up, 'I have money, we're gonna have TV and we're going to use all the ECW guys.' This is not a slight on Tony at all. It's more of, it's more of a slight at me being a paranoid, neurotic, anxiety-ridden, very careful person, and I wasn't in a hurry. The pandemic kind of help that out, you know, and I knew I couldn't debut if there's no people in the building. So, I always say, timing is everything, and there were a lot of happy accidents along the way that made this possible." Punk famously left WWE in January 2014 following the Royal Rumble and stayed away from the ring until his return on Friday. He went on to become a UFC fighter and star in a handful of movies before joining WWE Backstage in November 2019 as a special analyst before the show was canceled as a weekly show in June 2020 due to the pandemic. Punk did make two Independent appearances during his time away from wrestling, both times under a mask. CM PUNK will make his first appearance on AEW Dynamite THIS WEDNESDAY, August 25th in Milwaukee! Punk said he's back to work the young guys, calling out Darby Allin. Punk said he's here to help Allin because he likes danger and there's nothing more dangerous than wrestling CM Punk in Chicago. He said he'll see Allin, Sting, and everyone else at AEW All Out. It was confirmed on commentary that Allin will face Punk at AEW All Out on September 5th.

Welcome back to Sidenote Suplex. In journalism and reporting, there are options on how to curate and deliver content. As a journalist, you’re responsible for your product. If you don’t care to get things right…why should an individual consume your product. Is the consumer not coming to you for the scoop or the facts on the situation? So you can't get mad when you don’t get taken seriously or cant establish yourself among the greats within the industry you’re attempting to make a mark in. Are you running a professional operation or is this just a personal diary of sorts..A fan club to get your own ego over? Do you cite work? Do you leave links to the information collected? Report rumors as facts? Do any of your own independent research? Do you even care? There are many ways to deliver content. Not saying one is particularly better than the other I'm just saying . Identify yours! ..stand on it..and take what comes with that… I say all that as a precursor to today's topic…Ringside News vs Fuego de sol. Ringside News is notorious within wrestling media as having more of a TMZ, Bossip, world star, reporting style, and ethic. They even have recently came on the radar of WWE When the WWE on Fox Facebook account stated in 2020: 'Guys, we usually don't interject, but when it comes to serious stuff we will. Ringsidenews, especially Brad Shepard, isn't a trusted 'news source' about anything. Please do not listen to them. Do as you will with other journalists, we won't promote anyone here, but avoid Ringsidenews - especially when it comes to something as serious as this.’ Well, the controversy recently continued from Ringside News but it seems this is something they wanted. And maybe this is a part of their journalist style. Recently signed AEW talent Fuego Del Sol took to social media recently and posted a direct message from the company. Fuego was offered an AEW contract on the premiere episode of AEW rampage after losing to TNT Television champion Miro. Ringside News Spent the rest of day on Twitter posting other tweets that many would describe as continued trolling. Ringside News recently added an update to their article on their website titled “when Fuego del sol really received AEW contract” "After speaking with Fuego Del Sol, he has stated that his contract was actually offered that night on AEW Rampage. We apologize for any misunderstanding."

Welcome back to Sidenote Suplex. There has been a lot of internal talk about major changes being planned for the WWE NXT brand, according to PWInsider. Changes being discussed include a new NXT logo, new lighting and overall look, a different format to the weekly TV show, and a focus on the younger talents. As noted, WWE released many NXT talents this past Friday while SmackDown on FOX aired. It was noted that the planned changes appear to be related to the cuts. During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com provided new details regarding how WWE reportedly plans to change the NXT brand. Here is what Meltzer said regarding the 13 NXT stars that were released and changes that are expected to be made: “Paul Levesque [Triple H] and Shawn Michaels didn’t have anything to do with the cuts. It was done by Vince McMahon, Bruce Prichard, and John Laurinaitis and the basic gist is that NXT is gonna change in some ways. They think the competitors are too small and too old.” Meltzer said that “the basic feeling is that they lost the war” when it came to trying to have NXT compete with AEW and indy promotions. WWE is reportedly looking to go back to the previous developmental system of hiring younger and bigger wrestlers that the company feels can headline Wrestlemania. Meltzer then read off what he was told from a WWE source regarding what the company is looking for which is as follows: “No more midgets, no one starting in their 30’s, they want people who can be box office attractions and main characters.”

the majority of the released NXT stars are believed to have 30-day non-compete clauses. Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men Podcast wrote “and more to come” in response to the news of the 13 releases. Brandon Thurston stated:NXT renewed flat and isn’t much of a revenue growth opportunity. If anything it’s a cost. It’s not the third media rights brand hoped for. But in an effort to become that, nor is it developmental. Recently released talent Bronson Reed recently discussed his departure from the brand. 4:34

There were other rumors that Cole is being offered a Million per year contract to stay in WWE. Allegedly he currently nets 100 thousand a year with his current NXT contract. Is the releasing of some talent adding more $ in the pockets of others? There are also rumors that The NXT rebrand will be a Similar vibe to the original NXT that featured Curtis Axel and A younger Daniel Bryan.

Welcome back to Sidenote Suplex. Stephen Amell Broke His Back Literally Filming upcoming Wrestling Show Heels Stephen Amell opens up about the back injury he sustained while filming the upcoming drama Heels. Making its premiere on August 15th, the Starz series revolves around the world of small-town professional wrestling. Created by Ricky and Morty and Loki writer Michael Waldron, Heels particularly focuses on a family-owned wrestling promotion and the two brothers (played by Amell and Alexander Ludwig) who battle over their late father’s legacy. Although the promotion for the show is well underway, with a full Heels trailer out now and the unveiling of a featured character posters, a potentially worrying pause occurred back in October of last year when it was reported that Amell had been injured while filming one of his scenes. In a recent interview, the actor spoke out about the experience. During an interview on Oral Sessions with Renee Paquette, the actor cleared up how the injury happened. Amell explained that while performing a wrestling move, known as the “Coast to Coast”, which involves leaping off the top rope from one side of the ring to the other, he didn’t like how the first take turned out. When he requested to do a second take, that’s when the accident took place. What’s interesting is that, as Amell himself notes, he had performed the same move previously. During his match with Christopher Daniels, at the AEW All Out pay-per-view in 2018, the Arrow star had utilized that same maneuver. Amell remembers that, even back then, he found it to be a challenging experience. It speaks to how, in wrestling, high-flying moves that utilize the top ropes and rely on agility can sometimes be the most challenging. But, on the flipside, for those who master it, they get recognized as some of the most elite wrestlers to grace the squared circle. Rey Mysterio and Jeff Hardy are two currently active legends that built up their reputation thanks, in part, to their eye-popping moves. Other names, such as Ricochet and Mustafa Ali, are routinely cited as exciting talents to watch and that’s partially thanks to their reliance on the type of moves that resulted in Amell’s injury. The coast to coast has been often used by Shane McMahon in WWE Matches but its Rob Van Dam who first popularized the move in the US while in the ECW pro wrestling brand. Coined as the Van Terminator, RVD would hurl himself across the ring from the top rope and connect with a weapon on the other side sometimes held by a tag team member or manager.

WWE announced Bray Wyatt has been released. “WWE has come to terms on the release of Bray Wyatt. We wish him the best in all his future endeavors,” WWE wrote. It was recently reported that WWE was keeping Wyatt off TV for the time being for reasons that were not related to creative. He had been away from the ring since WrestleMania 37, losing to Randy Orton. He made an appearance on RAW the next night for a Firefly Fun House segment, indicting he was getting ready for a fresh start. Early this week, a photo was shown of Wyatt looking to be in great shape. Wyatt first signed with WWE back in 2009. Along with The Wyatt Family and “The Fiend” stories, Wyatt was a one-time WWE Champion and two-time WWE Universal Champion. Wyatt was told by John Laurinaitis that his departure was due to budget cuts and said it was nothing that Bray had done to cause his departure. according to F4WOnline. Wyatt is among a string of stars who have been released as of late for the same reason. Former on-screen partner Alexa Bliss has taken to Twitter to thank Wyatt, real name Windham Rotunda, for his contributions to both the company and her personally. “I really am at a loss for words,” Bliss wrote. “Thank you so much Windham for everything you’ve done for this company. The most fun I’ve had is working with you. Such an amazing talent & the most kind person. I’m just in shock.” Bliss made her Twitter account private shortly after the tweet. Bliss had been linked to Wyatt on WWE TV since last summer, when she made a cameo as Sister Abigail in Wyatt’s cinematic match with Braun Strowman at The Horror Show at Extreme Rules. From there, Bliss would have a complete makeover, ditching her traditional ring gear for attire inspired by The Fiend. While Wyatt was off television selling her loss to Randy Orton from TLC: Tables, Ladders, and Chairs, Bliss appeared on RAW weekly, taunting Orton and attempting to ‘resurrect’ The Fiend. Bliss would accompany The Fiend at WrestleMania, but would turn on him and cost him the match. Does this mean a character change for Alexa bliss coming soon? In regards to Vince McMahon and Wyatt, they were said to have a “very hot and cold” relationship. Wyatt’s 90-day non-compete clause runs out a week before AEW Full Gear on November 6.

Welcome back to Sidenote Suplex. Today's Topics: Domino's Pizza vs AEW, Domino's threatens to pull ads due to pizza cutter product placement spot, Nick Gage responds, Moxley responds, WWE contacting journalists for smear campaign story on AEW? Domino’s Pizza has disavowed AEW’s pizza cutter stunt that was seen during the main event of Wednesday’s Fight for the Fallen edition of AEW Dynamite on TNT. The bloody match saw Chris Jericho defeat hardcore wrestler Nick Gage in a No DQ match. There was a spot during the match where Gage used a pizza cutter to cut Jericho’s head open. Right after, the screen split with a Domino’s commercial, which also featured an image of a pizza being sliced for a delivery. It was speculated by some that AEW and Domino’s worked together for the pizza cutter spot, but that is not the case. Front Office Sports reports that Domino’s was not involved, nor had any foreknowledge of the pizza cutter spot. Domino’s issued a statement to FOS disavowing any involvement or knowledge of the promotion. “We share the concerns expressed about this incident and the content of this TV-14 rated program, and are assessing our advertising presence on it going forward,” said Domino’s spokeswoman Jenny Fouracre-Petko. GCW star Nick Gage took to Twitter this afternoon and apologized to Domino’s Pizza for the pizza cutter stunt on Wednesday’s Fight for the Fallen edition of AEW Dynamite on TNT. “i tried to cut jerichos scalp off my bad TMZ it is what it is but yeah thanks aew and thanks all MDK gang members we showed em whats up and also sorry dominos didnt mean to offend you guess im too ultraviolent for tv oh well all my new fans come see me at GCW its MDK all fn day,” Gage wrote in his first tweet since the match. WWE is reportedly not happy with the pizza cutter incident and how it reflects on professional wrestling, and as such is trying to land AEW hot water with their sponsors over the incident. The spot aired just before a Domino’s Pizza commercial on TNT. It has drawn complaints from those watching, which promoted Domino's to issue a statement about possibly pulling their advertising during AEW programming: "We share the concerns expressed about this incident and the content of this TV-14 rated program, and are assessing our advertising presence on it going forward,” Domino’s spokeswoman Jenny Fouracre-Petko told Front Office Sports. Babyface v. Heel website journalist David Bixenspan is reporting that a screenshot that was shared with him shows that a mainstream reporter said that WWE contacted them about writing an article on the situation with Dominos and AEW. Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reveals there has been a concerted campaign to contact AEW’s sponsors to alert them about the content of the match. "Domino’s is a major sponsor of TNT and WarnerMedia programming so this is a serious issue. There was a concerted campaign to contact sponsors but at press time Domino’s was the only one that has reacted to the match." In addition, Voice of Wrestling is reporting that WWE has contacted a number of journalists to pick up on the story to smear AEW.

Welcome back to Sidenote Suplex. More news on Karrion Kross Recent WWE Monday Night Raw loss vs Jeff Hardy. During the Mat Men Pro Wrestling podcast, Andrew Zarian revealed what was told to him when he contacted people within WWE about Karrion Kross losing to Jeff Hardy during his main roster debut. “Karrion Kross was supposed to lose again to Jeff Hardy in the rematch and then finally go berzerk. I’m not 100 percent on this but I was told that the plan was that Karrion Kross keeps losing until Scarlett shows up and that’s gonna bring him back on track because she is able to unleash the warrior, whatever they’re calling him, the gladiator in him.” “When I spoke to somebody over there they were like ‘yea I don’t understand why people are freaking out on the internet, it’s leading to something. Why don’t people understand, we’re telling a story, the match doesn’t matter, the story matters.’ Those aren’t my words, I don’t agree that he should be losing but I also agree that sometimes we should let things play out.” But heres the thing… At this point in time I think the majority have lost hope When it comes to proper storyline writing booking etc. in WWE. From the mishandling on Tazz's run, Daniel Bryan's at times to a Hand Coming out of Mae Young, the infamous reboot of WWE ECW, creepy Eric Bischoff Stephie McMahon make out scenes to the god awful Katie Vick angle….shall I go on? And that's why many are enjoying other wrestling products now in 2021..MLW NWA IMPACT AEW Could this storyline work Yeah most likely But I see this for a talent that may need it… This is your NXT Champion.. Is this lazy booking for him? I believe WWE’s writing should be able to stand up to dramatic shows such as the very popular Law and Order etc. Mini Movie type feel.. They have writing that use to write on shows like that right? Jeff Hardy Didn’t need to be used for this the same way Keith lee didn’t need to be used how he was… Could this potential storyline be used for Keith I guess.. But When Brock Lesnar , maybe or maybe not breaking script, looks startled, shook and says “Who the F is this guy” If you member from the royal rumble 2020..I mean brocks the top of the mountain and he was shook Shouldn’t he be booked strong forever then..How can you go back after that ? Does this behavior with Karrion Kross shine a light on Vince McMahon/Ryan Dunn/Bruce Prichard, the higher-up's view of NXT? A report from Sean Ross Sapp on Fightful SelectThere was significant frustration from those we spoke to about how Finn Balor, Adam Cole, Johnny Gargano, Santos Escobar, Oney Lorcan and others had worked hard to help make Kross as dominant as possible.” The report also added that Kross’ treatment has led many to believe that this is how the NXT brand is viewed by higher-ups “as a whole.” The casual fan has dwindled, Tv Networks are talking to Stephanie McMahon on how to get WWE’s ratings up..You can’t bring in Old talent forever - The Bill Goldberg era will most likely end after the contracts up..But is the WWE building up young stars? Do we have time to play games like this Especially with the NXT champion !

NXT CHAMPION KARRION KROSS MADE HIS MAIN ROSTER DEBUT RECENTLY ON MONDAY NIGHT RAW WHERE HE WAS FEATURED IN A LESS THAN DOMINANT FASHION QUICKLY LOSING TO JEFF HARDY. Kross and Hardy were scheduled to go one on one again on the July 26 edition of Raw but the match was scrapped after The Charismatic Enigma tested positive for CO 19. That match wouldn't have featured Kross getting revenge, though, as Fightful Select reported the NXT Champion was scheduled to lose to Hardy again on the show. The decision reportedly baffled several members of the creative team and many WWE wrestlers, who were confused about why Kross was booked to lose once, never mind two weeks in a row. The match ultimately didn't go ahead, though, and Kross earned his first victory on Raw against Keith Lee instead. According to a report from Sean Ross Sapp on Fightful Select there was “significant frustration” backstage about how several Superstars worked so hard to make Kross look like unbeatable only for him to lose to Jeff Hardy in under two minutes! The report also added that Kross’ treatment has led many to believe that this is how the NXT brand is viewed by higher-ups “as a whole.” “The general mood of those that we spoke to was a “not mad, disappointed” vibe, as they felt this represented how the NXT brand was viewed by higher-ups as a whole.” If a casual was clicking around and ends up seeing this Kross guy lose quickly and awkwardly ..What do you think their reaction will be? NXT Aint a threat ..There champion cant beat an older Jeff hardy .. Vince McMahon steroids trial will be subject of dramatic series produced by WWE, Blumhouse Television The limited series is currently titled 'The United States of America Vs. Vince McMahon.' The WWF’s 1994 steroid trials will be adapted into an upcoming dramatic series. But this might not be the most objective portrayal of the federal case against Vince McMahon alleging the supply of anabolic steroids to WWF wrestlers. WWE is producing the series, tentatively titled The United States of America Vs. Vince McMahon, with Blumhouse Television. McMahon is an executive producer on the project along with Jason Blum, best known for producing films such as Get Out, the 2018 Halloween reboot, and The Purge and Paranormal Activity movie franchises. Blumhouse Television has produced series including Into the Dark, Sharp Objects, and a TV version of The Purge. The series will chronicle the federal court case in which the U.S. government indicted McMahon for allegedly providing anabolic steroids to his pro wrestlers. McMahon was charged with conspiring to distribute steroids, possession of illegal steroids with intent to distribute, and embezzling money from his company (then called Titan Sports, Inc.) to purchase illegal steroids. The United States of America Vs. Vince McMahon will delve into WWE during the 1990s, at the time Rupert Murdoch had purchased the New York Post. For years, Post writer Phil Mushnick regularly hammered McMahon in his column with headlines like ‘Legislators Give WWE A Free Pass On ‘Roids’ and ‘McMahon Skips Through the Cemetery’ eventually capturing the attention of the FBI and the U.S. Attorney’s office for the Southern District of New York. Steroid use in wrestling wasn’t exactly a secret, looking at the pumped-up, superhumanly muscled physiques of WWE performers. (Years earlier, WWE successfully argued that it was entertainment, not a sport, in order to avoid the sort of regulations that apply to sports like boxing that could result in serious injury.) Despite being near bankruptcy, McMahon turned down a plea deal with prosecutors and went to trial. The distribution charges were dismissed after the trial’s judge ruled that prosecutors had provided insufficient evidence and a jury acquitted McMahon of conspiracy charges. Following the trial, WWE instituted a drug-testing policy that stated that any wrestler who tested positive or was caught with PEDs would be fired. During the past 25+ years, McMahon has expanded WWE into a global entertainment empire. The WWF steroid trials will also get the documentary treatment in an upcoming episode of VICE TV’s Dark Side of the Ring series. The third season of the docuseries was split in half for production purposes, and executive producer Evan Husney told Awful Announcing earlier this year that the steroid trials are a story he and co-creator Jason Eisener have always wanted to cover.

Welcome Back to Sidenote Suplex. Dates For The 2021 WWE Draft Revealed The dates for the upcoming 2021 WWE Draft were reportedly set but now have been changed. According to a report from Andrew Zarian of Mat Men Pro Wrestling Podcast, the WWE Draft was to be held on the Aug. 30 and Sept. 3 episodes of Monday Night Raw (in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma) and Friday Night SmackDown (in Jacksonville, Florida), respectively. These are the final two dates for WWE's 25-city tour. Earlier this month, Zarian reported that the draft would be held after SummerSlam, which is set for Aug. 21 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. The last two drafts have been held in October.

The latest reports suggest that Big E could be one of the top names who could be moved to Raw from SmackDown. The New Day was split up in WWE Draft 2020 with Big E competing as a singles wrestler on SmackDown, while Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods continued their stint as a tag team on RAW.A report from WWFOldSchool claims that there have been talks of moving The Scottish Warrior Drew McIntyre to SmackDown during the Draft. This move would lead to a program between Roman Reigns and Drew McIntyre for the Universal Championship at some point which is rumored. Ringside News reported that they were told that many legends and part-timers have made it to the list, but Brock Lesnar’s name is missing out. Previously it has been reported many times that Brock Lesnar is not in WWE’s plans for Summerslam.- This may be a reason why Lesnar’s name is not on the list. Goldberg, a part-timer, and The Undertaker, who has retired from the wrestling business, have been mentioned in the list.

Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men Podcast is now reporting that the company has opted to delay the WWE Draft for 2021 for more than a month, with the new date being revealed as October 4th. Zarian did note that it was unclear if this was the date of night one of two of the annual Draft.

Welcome back to Sidenote Suplex. Today's Topic: Daniel Bryan Has Signed A Contract With AEW? CM Punk heading to All Elite Wrestling? Daniel Bryan has reportedly signed with AEW. Cassidy Haynes of Bodyslam.net reports Daniel Bryan (Bryan Danielson) is "locked in" and "100% signed a contract with AEW." Haynes also reports "was wanting to work less dates for comparable money, he wanted the ability to be able to work in Japan, and wanted to have creative input on his character, which he got." Haynes goes on to report that the "tentative plans creatively" are for Bryan to debut at the Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York City on September 22. PWInsider reported on July 20 Bryan was not listed on the internal plans for WWE merchandising and licensing for 2021-2022. Bryan's contract with WWE expired following his match with Roman Reigns on the April 30 episode of WWE SmackDown. As per the stipulation of the match, Bryan was banished from SmackDown.Along with main eventing the April 30 episode of SmackDown against Reigns, Bryan main evented WrestleMania 37 in a triple threat match Reigns and Edge. Bryan is a former four-time WWE Champion. He has not wrestled outside of WWE since 2010. Bodyslam.net was told that Danielson was wanting to work less dates for comparable money, he wanted the ability to be able to work in Japan, and wanted to have creative input on his character, all of which he got. The plan was to hold off debuting Danielson until after all of their plans for All Out were wrapped up, and to bring him in after the PPV. However, with the news of CM Punk’s potential AEW debut may have caused plans to change.

CM Punk is reportedly in ongoing talks for a return to the ring, according to Fightful. The most likely place for him to go is AEW, but a contract hasn’t been signed, nor has a timetable, return date, or creative plans been put in place. The report noted simply Punk and a company official have been talking about him wrestling once again. The report stated they haven’t confirmed with Punk or AEW officials about this news, but were told recently that higher-ups in WWE believe Punk is going to All Elite Wrestling. Punk was released from WWE in 2014. He fought twice in the UFC with an 0-1 record (1 no contest). He has also since pursued a career in acting and made a few appearances on FS1’s WWE Backstage. Back in 2019, Punk allegedly crashed an indie show under a mask but hasn’t had an official match since 2014.

Harry Smith (aka Davey Boy Smith Jr., DH Smith) has announced that he is back in WWE. As noted, the Money In the Bank go-home edition of SmackDown from the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas featured two pre-show dark matches with Smith and WWE NXT Superstars in action – Smith and Austin Theory vs. Odyssey Jones and Xyon Quinn, plus Aliyah vs. Xia Li. In an update, the tag team bout was won by Smith and Theory, while the singles match was won by Li. Smith spoke with Megan Morant for a post-match backstage interview, which you can watch below. Smith talked about being away from WWE for a decade, making himself a better wrestler around the world, and how he is now back. Morant asked Smith what it felt like being the first Superstar to come through the curtain. “You know, it’s great to be back in the WWE, especially in front of the WWE Universe, live here in Houston, Texas,” Smith said. “The atmosphere, the ambiance, the energy that you can feel from a live WWE audience, nothing can touch that and that’s why Harry Smith is back in the WWE. The past 10 years I’ve been going around the globe, making myself the best competitor that I can be, all over in Japan, all over in Europe, and that’s why I’m back in the WWE, to show exactly how much Harry Smith has grown over this past time.” On a related note, it appears Smith fooled fans into thinking he was headed overseas for an international tour before flying into Houston, Texas for tonight’s SmackDown episode. Smith tweeted on Thursday and acted as if he was flying out for shows in Russia and Egypt. It looks like WWE will be billing Bulldog Jr. by his “Harry Smith” name.

Smith, a former WWE Tag Team Champion, previously worked for the company from 2006-2011, and since then he has found significant international success. There had been speculation on his return after the two sides expressed interest in recent months. Smith, his sister and mother inducted his father, “The British Bulldog” Davey Boy Smith into the WWE Hall of Fame earlier this year.

WWE star Riddle finally explains real-life beef shoot heat with Seth Rollins, shares their conversation at Survivor Series. Speaking with talkSPORT, Riddle has commented on the rumors that he has beef with SmackDown star Seth Rollins, confirming that the pair don't really like one another. It had already been speculated that Seth Rollins didn’t like Riddle when last year’s Survivor Series rolled around. When Rollins then exited the match without going near Riddle, the rumors intensified. Rollins had said publicly, in character or not, he didn’t want to work with Riddle and wouldn’t be on the same show as him. Then, at the 2021 Royal Rumble, the pair did work together. Rollins actually threw Riddle out of the match following a Curb Stomp, so it seemed the door wasn’t firmly shut. When talkSPORT caught up with the Original Bro this week, we asked him what was really going on behind the scenes with him and Rollins? “I’ll be honest, I’ve met Seth multiple times and he’s met me and I don’t think we’ll ever be best friends [laughs]. I don’t think we like one another, we’re just two different people. [Although] we both love wrestling,” said Riddle. “I know my significant other said something about Becky that they didn’t like and I also did not like or agree with. Seth didn’t like me after that and I don’t think Becky liked me or my wife either, which is understandable. It is what it is.”

Lisa Riddle recently kicked up a storm by body-shaming wrestlers such as Becky Lynch by calling them “skinny jiggly fat.” She then called the situation funny, claiming there are many female athletes who train under her and they know what they want to achieve. She then compared herself and WWE women, informing that she doesn’t care about looking good and only wants to become a decent Olympic lifter. She also claimed that WWE women are getting paid to look good.

After the Survivor Series five-on-five Elimination match between RAW and SmackDown – which Riddle’s RAW swept – he did finally get a chance to talk to Rollins and he told talkSPORT exactly what was said. “After Survivor Series, because he was there I got to talk to him and I said ‘Hey’ and a camera came up to us to film it and I said ‘No, don’t come over here, don’t film this. It’s between me and him.’ “We talked. I told him – and this is exactly what I said – I said ‘Hey man, what was said, I don’t agree with it. I thought it was bullcrap. It’s not cool. I just want you to know I apologise, I apologize on her behalf as well. “On top of that I think you’re a great performer and if you would ever have it in your heart to work with me, I would love that. And I will say this, we’re good enough to be working together, I don’t think we’re friends. “I’ll tell you this, that last curb stomp he gave me at the Royal Rumble, we’re not friends [laughs]. When I get in the ring with him, he’s going to get it! Put that online! Can we get back in the ring? I need to repay that curb stomp, bro!” Riddle is currently on RAW and Rollins is on SmackDown, but with a reported draft coming up, they may be working together sooner than we think.

Malakai Black is officially All Elite. AEW confirmed on Twitter today that Black has signed with the company. As noted, the former Aleister Black (Tommy End) made his AEW debut on the Road Rager edition of Dynamite on TNT. He attacked Arn Anderson and then took out Cody Rhodes when he made the save, setting up a new top feud for AEW. Earlier in the day, Black revealed his new gimmick with a promo video on Instagram. Black was released by WWE in June due to budget cuts. Earlier today, he teased his new name in a video posted to his Instagram. Typically, when main roster stars are released by WWE, they are under a 90-day non-compete clause. Black was able to appear in AEW so quickly due to a clerical error, according to PWInsider. When Black was moved from NXT to the main roster a couple of years back, WWE failed to update his contract from the standard 30-day non-compete clause that NXT stars typically have.

Andrade El Idolo picked up a decisive win in his All Elite Wrestling in-ring debut. At the special “Road Rager” episode of AEW Dynamite, Andrade faced Matt Sydal in a singles match. Vickie Guerrero accompanied Andrade to the ring and watched him pick up an emphatic victory. Clad in suit pants, Andrade was all business as he showcased the remarkable skills that won him the WWE United States Championship during his time with the company. He controlled most of the bout against Sydal and pinned his opponent with the El Idolo. After the bout, to put an exclamation point on the win, Andrade attacked Sydal and wrenched his arm in a brutal submission hold.

Todays Topics: 0:45 Zelina Vega Returns, Deletes "I Support Unionization" Tweet 2:30 Zelina Vega vs Dave Meltzer 3:59 Dave Meltzer history with Women's Wrestling (Peyton Royce, Charlotte) Reporting Ethics, 5:03 Mercedes Martinez/ Xia Li Update 5:47 Tegan Nox returns to NXT television at the Great American Bash Event Zelina Vega: Zelina Vega (Thea Trinidad) deleted her tweet about unionization that was sent out shortly before it was announced that she was released back in November. As previously noted, Vega made her return to WWE on Friday Night SmackDown. The tweet that read, “I support unionization” is no longer on her Twitter feed. Another tweet that has been deleted is the one where she thanked SAG-AFTRA for a “pleasant conversation and insight.” On Saturday, she alluded to a supposed lie that was told from the “dirt sheets” but she did not cite exactly what was reported about her that was not true. The tweet, which included a GIF of a woman reading a laptop, says the following, “Actual footage of dirt sheet writers trying to think of the next lie to post about me Face with tears of joy:” The terms of Vega’s new deal with WWE are not known but it’s worth noting that she is still on Twitch so it appears that things worked out positively on her end. Dave Meltzer had a lot to say about Vega’s comments and she didn’t let that go unanswered. Dave Meltzer heard her statement and he commented during Wrestling Observer Radio. Meltzer later replied to say, “You should point out who lied and the specifics of the lie rather than a blanket statement and group people in one category. I explained that in detail how horrible it would be to say something bad about “wrestlers” that only applied to a small percentage of them.”

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful.com is reporting that Mercedes Martinez has been taken to hospital following the finish to the Mixed Tag Team Match Up of Xia Li & Boa vs Martinez & Jake Atlas during tonight's (June 29th 2021) NXT on USA Network. The finish of the match saw Martinez take an impressive spinning heel kick from Xia Li. It seems as though she caught Mercedes a little too hard knocking her out. Mercedes did an odd type of kick-out thing which looked really awkward, but the match was quickly stopped as there was obviously something wrong. Sapp noted on Twitter that "talent/staff were told she's headed to the hospital for further evaluation" This was not confirmed by WWE or the announcers, but there was speculation on Martinez possibly being knocked out by Li’s kick. After Mercedes went down, Xia Li went for the cover, there was an awkward kickout and Mercedes lip even looked. bloody. The camera never went back to Mercedes for the remainder of the segment. Xia Li is the first Chinese woman to ever compete in a WWE ring. In June, Li went on to feud with Mercedes Martinez over losing to her in the inaugural Mae Young Classic, defeating her in a match at NXT TakeOver: In Your House. This incident on NXT only adds to their rivalry. he Boa and Xia Li duo added a new member to create a faction known as Tian Sha. While we all thought Tian Sha was the name of the spooky character Boa and Xia Li teased, it’s actually the name of the faction.

“She was hospitalized last night after Xia Li hit a spin kick to the jaw that knocked her out. They did the referee stoppage finish, it wasn’t like a worked finish, it was legit. She was taken to the hospital and evaluated. I was under the impression this morning that she’s alright, but that’s all we know.” - Bryan Alvarez Wrestling Observer Newsletter

Welcome Back To Sidenote Suplex. Today's Topics: Non- Compete Clauses, The Returns of Samoa Joe to NXT, New backstage role and more. Samoa Joe may be the on-screen assistant to NXT General Manager William Regal on TV, but the former United States Champion also has another role within the company. Samoa Joe rejoined WWE last month after being released in April, and has revealed on the Out of Character podcast that he will now also be working as a talent scout after returning to the company, saying: “Me and Triple H had spoken about this transition in-depth,” Joe replied. “It wasn’t just coming back to NXT and being an enforcer and having a role on the show. Now, I’m working in the talent scouting department, working with Canyon Ceman, doing more administrative things behind the scenes. It’s a transition into some of the other aspects of the business. It’s an evolution of my journey. It was a cool opportunity that Hunter offered me. It was a very nice understanding that we had come to.” Samoa Joe is not only well connected within wrestling but also within MMA too, and he told Ryan Satin that he is looking forward to giving a variety of people opportunities to try out for WWE: “I always try to keep a pulse on the industry in general, whether it be through me looking or my network contacts and people I know. Outside of the Indie wrestling world, in the combat sports world and a lot of the athletic world. Just heavy connections. It was a really nice fit. I’m looking forward to giving an opportunity to a lot of people that maybe wouldn’t get a look.”

Ever since Samoa Joe made his return to NXT on June 15 after being released in April, many people have been wondering who his first opponent would be back on the black and gold brand. Speaking on the Out of Character podcast, the two-time NXT Champion listed a some potential opponents on the NXT roster that he would love to get in the ring with. “Karrion Kross and Pete Dunne are at the top of that list. A guy like WALTER, people have been asking for it, I’m not blind. It’s for good reason. The guy is a powerhouse and people want to see some furniture moving. It’s not just one or two guys. Adam Cole, Roderick Strong, Kyle O’Reilly, there are several very accomplished athletes in NXT. Bronson Reed, he’s always yapping and wants to get some. Aussies, they got big mouths.”

Joe officially debuted in WWE's then-developmental territory NXT in May 2015, and signed a full-time contract with the company in June; he went on to become the first-ever two-time NXT Champion, and the co-winner of the inaugural Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic (with Finn Bálor). After joining the main roster in January 2017 and being assigned to the Raw brand, he headlined several WWE pay-per-view events and contended for the Universal Championship, and later the WWE Championship during his time on the SmackDown brand. In March 2019, Joe won his only title on the main roster, the United States Championship. Following several injuries, he became a color commentator on Raw. He was released from his contract in April 2021, but was re-signed just two months later to be an on-screen authority figure on NXT. Who would you like to see Samoa Joe Face off against this time around in NXT?

Welcome Back to Sidenote Suplex. Topic: Billy Corgan, NWA Wrestling, NWA Power, Mickie James, Kylie Rae and more. WWE released six more talents on Wednesday, June 2, putting them on the open market come September. While is it unknown where those talents will end up, they will have options with AEW, NWA, IMPACT Wrestling, ROH, and NJPW all being potential homes. Appearing on Busted Open Radio, Billy Corgan was asked who he has his eyes on of the released superstars. "Braun Strowman," stated Corgan. "If he was green in NXT, I'd be jumping all over it. There aren't a lot of big guys who have that level of ability. How do you let a guy like that out the door? I don't mean to be critical, I'm not making the business decision, but I don't know how you let a guy like that go. Ruby Riott, I think has a very bright future. Lana, holy cow, how do you let her go? It appears that Mickie James somehow got out of her 90-day non-compete contract with WWE, as the former six-time women's champion appeared today on NWA Powerrr alongside NWA President Billy Corgan. NWA will be holding an all-women's pay-per-view on August 28. Hours later, this report was confirmed and officially announced on the latest episode of NWA Powerrr. This pay-per-view, as well as NWA 73, will be held in St. Louis, Missouri. Mickie James is the executive producer for NWA's upcoming all-women's pay-per-view.

Kylie Rae is officially joining the NWA. During NWA When Our Shadows Fall, Joe Galli confirmed Kylie Rae had signed a contract with NWA, making it her home in wrestling moving forward. Rae was a surprise addition to the When Our Shadows Fall card when the full lineup was announced the week of the event. Rae teamed with Taryn Terrell, scoring a victory over Melina & Thunder Rosa.

Are you excited for the future of NWA?

Welcome back to Sidenote Suplex. Chyna, WWE’s “Ninth Wonder of the World,” is the subject of a new Vice documentary. “The Ninth Wonder of the World,” Chyna was an indelible part of the WWE’s Attitude Era of the late ’90s and early 2000s. However, like so many before her, Chyna’s departure from World Wrestling Entertainment was a heartbreaking affair. Beset by addiction, Chyna (real name: Joanie Laurer) struggled in the years following her exit from the WWE. She bounced from reality television to adult movies to Mormonism before her tragic death in 2016. In a new documentary from Vice, director Marah Strauch aims to give the “definitive account of the wrestling phenom’s life.” From her incredible rise to sudden downfall, VICE VERSA: Chyna covers the full breadth of her career, both as Chyna and Joanie Laurer, the woman behind the most devastating low blows in wrestling. A new documentary from Vice will dive into the life of Joanie Laurer, the pioneering WWE performer better known by her ring name, Chyna, who died of an overdose in April 2016. "Joanie aka Chyna's meteoric rise and fall is the stuff of Shakespearian drama, but underneath all that flash, she was an intelligent and sensitive person who struggled with addiction," Vice Versa: Chyna director Marah Strauch says in a statement to PEOPLE. The film will premiere on Vice TV on June 17 at 9 p.m EST/PST, and features interviews with Laurer's mother, Jan LaQue, and other WWE legends including Mick Foley, Sean Waltman, and Billy Gunn.

Laurer rose to fame as a member of D-Generation X, the six-member faction that helped to cement the WWE as a powerhouse entertainment brand in the 1990s and early 2000s. The group — made up of Laurer, Gunn, Waltman, Paul "Triple H" Levesque, Shawn Michaels, and the Road Dogg Jesse James — was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2019. According to Vice, the movie comes as part of an effort to expand Vice TV’s wrestling coverage, following the success of Dark Side Of The Ring. “With the critical acclaim and success of our hit series, Dark Side Of The Ring, we wanted to expand our wrestling content,” Catherine Whyte, Vice TV’s head of production, says in the press release. “Chyna’s story is so powerful—she was a disruptor and an icon.” Vice is currently on Season 3 of Dark Side of the Ring with an additional show titled Dark Side Of The Ring Confidential. Welcome back to Sidenote Suplex. WWE Breaking News: WWE has officially announced that Braun Strowman, Aleister Black, Lana, Ruby Riott, Buddy Murphy, and Santana Garrett have been released from the company, as reported earlier. WWE released the following announcement and wished the Superstars the best in their future endeavors: WWE has come to terms on the releases of Braun Strowman, Aleister Black, Lana, Murphy, Ruby Riott, and Santana Garrett. WWE wishes them the best in all of their future endeavors. As noted, it had been reported earlier this week that these releases were being made due to budget cuts. These departures come after a round of talent cuts in mid-April, a round of talent cuts in mid-May, and a number of significant office/corporate departures in May that were part of a major WWE HQ restructuring. Strowman had been with the company since 2013. His last match came at the WrestleMania Backlash pay-per-view in the Triple Threat with Drew McIntyre and WWE Champion Bobby Lashley, but he has not been seen since then. He leaves a one-time Universal Champion, a one-time Intercontinental Champion, a two-time RAW Tag Team Champion, the 2019 Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal winner, the Greatest Royal Rumble winner, and the 2018 Men’s Money In the Bank winner. Lana had also been with WWE since 2013. She just wrestled on this week’s RAW, teaming with Naomi for a loss to Dana Brooke and Mandy Rose.

Black signed with WWE in 2016. He was away from the storylines for 6 months but just returned in April with new vignettes after being re-packaged on SmackDown. His big TV return came on the May 21 SmackDown and it looked like he was about to feud with Big E. They were held off last week’s SmackDown but it was reported that this was a creative decision to allow for some time before they did the follow-up. Black leaves a one-time WWE NXT Champion, and the 2019 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic winner with Ricochet. His wife Zelina Vega was released in late 2020 but was reportedly recently re-hired. There is no word yet on if WWE still plans to bring her back. Riott also signed with WWE in 2016. She just competed on last Friday’s SmackDown, teaming with Liv Morgan for a loss to WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Natalya and Tamina Snuka. Murphy signed with WWE in 2013 and leaves the company as a one-time NXT Tag Team Champion, a one-time WWE Cruiserweight Champion, and a one-time RAW Tag Team Champion. He last competed in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal in April. Before that his last singles match was a DQ loss to Cesaro on the March 12 SmackDown. Garrett originally began working with WWE in 2013 and officially signed a contract in 2019 after making various appearances over the years. Many Top Wrestling Talent from WWE, Impact Wrestling and AEW responded via Twitter to the recent WWE Releases. What are your thoughts and is this good news for AEW Rampage?

Welcome back to Sidenote Suplex Today’s Topic: WWE Lumberjack Zombies at Wrestlemania Backlash Damian Priest vs The Miz,MVP, Dirty Heels Perspective, WWE Attitude star As zombie, and more. Zombie stunt at WrestleMania Backlash is one of WWE’s saddest moments ever: WrestleMania Backlash continued a recent string of WWE pay-per-view filled with great matches and compelling stories, but many will remember this one for the terrible, cheap-plug zombies. Thankfully the actual wrestling was good enough to stop one of the company’s worst ideas from truly dragging the show into the muck. Zombie Lumber Jacks. Yes, read that again. WWE turned the lumberjacks for The Miz-Damien Priest match into zombies as basically a big ad for Dave Bautista’s new movie, “Army of the Dead,” which sponsored the show. Kudos to those two and John Morrison for trying to make the most of this absolute disaster. Priest and Miz even teamed up to fight the zombies at one point. The Miz received the first major injury of his career during a Zombies Lumberjack match against Damian Priest at WrestleMania Backlash pay-per-view. When Priest delivered a kick from the top rope and landed on the former WWE champion, one of his knees got injured. The Wrestling Observer Radio informed that his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) was torn. WWE reportedly received a big million dollar payday for the “Army of the Dead” sponsorship deal that led to the Zombies Lumberjack Match at the WrestleMania Backlash pay-per-view, which saw Damian Priest defeat The Miz. As noted, Zack Snyder’s “Army of the Dead” movie sponsored the WWE pay-per-view and the deal included the zombies, plus former WWE Champion Batista narrating the opening video package for the show. Batista stars in the movie. It was confirmed by F4Wonline.com that Khan brokered the deal for more than $1 million, but there’s no word on exactly how much the sponsorship was worth for WWE. The zombie lumberjack match has been widely panned, with many folks saying it actually managed to eclipse Randy Orton vs. The Fiend from WrestleMania 37 as the worst wrestling match of the year. MVP doesn’t understand why so many people have a problem with the zombie lumberjacks. He specifically pointed out that the Undertaker’s massive fan base and success show that it’s hypocritical to all of a sudden suggest that zombies have no place in pro wrestling. "I don't "have" to "defend" anything. Just pointing out the ridiculous hypocrisy. Taker didn't eat people. But he was a DEAD MAN. He could teleport and shoot lightning. He was buried alive. But no, he didn't eat people. That's just too unbelievable."-MVP But is the legacy of The Undertaker much different than the quickly thrown together Zombie spot? Why wasn't the cinematic approach applied? What do you think about the recent Wrestlemania Backlash Lumberjack Match between Damian Priest and The Miz?

NXT Breaking News: NXT Releases 2021 Several WWE NXT departures have been made today, according to PWInsider. Former MMA Horsewomen member Jessamyn Duke is gone from the company. After a MMA career with the UFC and Invicta, Duke signed with WWE in 2018. She appeared on RAW Underground last year, picking up a win over Avery Taylor. She has not been in action since then. Vanessa Borne (Danielle Kamela) has also been released. She trained under WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi in 2016, and signed with WWE in April 2016. Borne was reportedly called to the main roster in January 2020 after re-signing with WWE, but never made her official debut. She worked as a NBA dancer, NFL cheerleader and FOX Sports presenter before signing with WWE. Her last match was a six-woman match at the January 31, 2020 NXT live event in Citrus Springs, FL as she teamed with Jessi Kamea and current NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion Indi Hartwell, for a loss to Mercedes Martinez, Katrina Cortez and Valentina Feroz. Skyler Story (Brandi Lauren Pawalek) is also no longer with NXT. She was formerly known as Ava Storie and Brandi Lauren on the indies, and also spent about a year with Impact Wrestling from 2017-2018. She has not wrestled since a Battle Royal on the September 23, 2020 NXT TV show, and before that she lost a RAW Underground bout to Marina Shafir on August 13, 2020. Ezra Judge (Ezekwesiri “EJ” Nduka Jr.) was also released. He was signed in August 2019 after multiple WWE tryouts. Judge previously played arena football and was a pro bodybuilder for the IFBB. He last wrestled at the March 6, 2020 NXT live event in Melbourne, Florida, losing to Arturo Ruas. That was just his second match with the company as he lost his debut to Dorian Mak, on the February 29, 2020 NXT live event in Jacksonville. Fightful Select reports that Alexander Wolfe (Axel Tischer) has also been released. He just wrestled on last night’s NXT TV episode, losing to Killian Dain. He was attacked by Marcel Barthel and Fabian Aichner after the match, kicking him out of Imperium. The former SAnitY member signed with WWE in April 2015.

Kavita Devi (Kavita Dalal) was also cut today, per Fightful.

It was noted that those being released today are told that their departures are due to budget cuts. As noted earlier today, NXT referees Drake Wuertz and Jake Clemons were also released. WWE NXT referee Drake Younger (Drake Wuertz) is reportedly gone from the company. There is no word yet on exactly what led to the departure, but PWInsider reports that he was released earlier today.

Welcome back to Sidenote Suplex. Today’s Topic: Mickie James “Trash Gate” situation. Mickie James was released alongside Billie Kay, Peyton Royce, Chelsea Green, Samoa Joe, and other stars on Thursday, April 15, 2021. Mickie James returned to the company in 2017 alongside Alexa Bliss on the SmackDown roster and would be shifted between Raw and SmackDown for the next several years. While she had been a multiple-time WWE women's, WWE divas, and Knockouts champion in TNA, she had never recaptured a championship in her most recent run. Mickie James was outspoken about not enjoying sitting on the sidelines and recently spoke out against ageism in wrestling and the different expectations set for women as opposed to men. “With age comes a strength and wisdom that you can’t teach. I feel more powerful & sexy than I ever have. Yet it is only this way because this is the narrative we’ve accepted to be ok. We’ve pushed this mindset & it’s damn time we changed it. Times have changed. And so have we!” States Mickie James via Twitter. A week later, Mickie James received her “care package” from WWE and it so struck a chord with her that she tweeted at Vince McMahon to once again let him know that she was grateful for all of the opportunities. She received her farewell package from WWE in a garbage bag with her first name on it. First, Mickie shared a video of this package, along with a quip from herself about it being appropriate given the nature of her release last week. Soon after it was reported that many changes to the corporate level occurred.

Stephanie McMahon and Triple H both commented on Mickie’s Trashbag incident via Twitter and disapproved and apologized. It’s no secret situations like this have occurred in the past (I.E. CM PUNK Gets Fired on Wedding Day Etc.) Why do these situations keep happening? Mickie James Pitched an all-women show but was turned down. Many think she has heat due to her marriage to NWA World Heavyweight Champion Nick Aldis. Mickie James Also discussed on her Grown-Ass Women podcast she co-hosts with SoCal Val and Lisa Marie Varon. “I will say this... the person who’s responsible for me feeling like shit, and that I feel like completely tried to sabotage or devalue me or make me feel less than is still very much employed, and that’s fucking - you know what I mean?” What are your overall thoughts on “Trash Gate”?

Welcome Back To Sidenote Suplex on Youtube. In This Episode: Final List released For Season 3 of Dark Side Of The Ring. Chris Jericho speaks on Dark Side Of The Ring. "Dark Side of the Ring” will debut Season 3 on Vice TV on May 6. In an interview with Variety, series narrator AEW’s Chris Jericho says the show allows non-wrestling fans to learn to appreciate what wrestlers go through in their careers. “I think one of the reasons why the show is very important and very relevant is because you’re learning and maybe getting a little more respect for these guys,” Jericho says. “We’re playing these characters, and not just doing it for three months making a movie. We’re doing it every single day of our lives. And in some ways that’s great and in other ways, it’s not so great.” According to Jericho, working on the show is fun for him because he gets to approach it both as a professional with over 30 years of experience and as a fan. “First, I come at it from a fan standpoint,” he says. “So when you’re talking about a Dynamite Kid who I only met briefly once, but it was a huge fan of, I can hear the story about this guy. Then there are other stories, like the story of the company, FMW, kind of the first hardcore company in Japan. I went there in ’91, it did two tours. So I can speak from experience.” “Dark Side of the Ring” has been a breakout hit for Vice TV since it debuted in 2019, quickly becoming the highest-rated show in the network’s history. Season 3 is set to tackle topics such as the career of Brian Pillman (Premiere Episode), The Ultimate Warrior, Dynamite Kid, Grizzly Smith/Jake The Snake, Collision in Korea, Nick Gage, Luna Vachon, The Plane Ride From Hell, FMW, XPW, Chris Kanyon and The Steroid Trials.

Season 3 wil be narrated by Chris Jericho, a professional wrestler, singer, podcaster, author, actor, and entrepreneur.

Out Now: Ahead of season three of Dark Side of the Ring, each 90-minute episode of “Confidential” will feature series creators Evan Husney and Jason Eisener sitting down with Conrad Thompson for roundtable discussions on various topics from the first two seasons of the hit series. Guests will include names like former WWE referee Mike Chioda, Savio Vega, The Blue Meanie, and Tommy Dreamer. The roundtables will feature “never-before-seen moments, unanswered questions and secrets uncovered” from episodes that aired in the first two “Dark Side” seasons.

Welcome Back To Sidenote Suplex. Today’s Topic: History of Ivelisse and Thunder Rosa Heat, AEW Parts ways With Ivelisse and more. Ivelisse Says She's Been 'Let Go', Says Thunder Rosa Slandered Her Name In AEW, Talent Disputes Claims: On April 14th 2021, news broke that Ivelisse had been “let go” from AEW All Elite Wrestling. “History repeats itself, unfortunately. I speak up about mistreatment and get let go. Thats life.” Ivelisse stated via Twitter. That Tweet is now deleted. Ivelisse hasn't been used on television since the March 2 episode of AEW Dark and her tag team partner Diamante has been working singles matches over the past month. Ivelisse also stated on Twitter:”Nope, it was her being unprofessional, she had done the same thing in LU as well, and was unprofessional hurting my tag partner s jaw the next match and slandering my name the entire time at AEW” and in Fightful Select’s exclusive report Ivelisse stated, "I spoke up about mistreatment from a Coach, even to other women too, there were witnesses and I was the one suspended and left in limbo and just now let go, and nothing has been done at all the entire time about (Thunder Rosa) slandering my name the entire time in AEW and doing everything to sabotage my position there, I kept quiet, (Thunder Rosa) also has a history of getting involved with officials in order to get ahead which there was a lawsuit and everything in (Lucha Underground).” That statement confused many because The Lucha Underground lawsuit that was known seemed to be concentrated on pay disparities between the roster and nothing in particular to a situation with Rosa injuring a tag partner etc. Many on social media stated Ivelisse said that to create more hate towards Rosa and “continue to make Rosa look like the bad person.” Though she wasn't a regular presence on AEW Dynamite, Ivelisse and her partner Diamante won the AEW Women's Tag Team Tournament in 2020. The two defeated Brandi Rhodes and Allie in the finals, and it seemed like they would find their way to the top in AEW. However, Ivelisse's mounting issues with the coaches and Thunder Rosa led to her being pulled from programming, with Diamante becoming a singles competitor as of now. The Major Heat from coaches is said to have begun on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 episode of AEW Dynamite on TNT from Daily's Place amphitheater in Jacksonville, Florida, the AEW women's match between Ivelisse and Thunder Rosa saw things get physically heated between the two to the point where they reportedly exchanged actual legitimate shoot-style strikes at each other during various points. The incident took place when Ivelisse was uncooperative with Rosa while the latter was executing a seated surfboard hold transitioning into another spot. Apparently, Rosa did not appreciate the no-selling, which prompted the two women to begin exchanging shoot strikes. Sources also noted that Rosa and Ivelisse were having trouble getting along backstage prior to the match, which likely boiled over once they were actually in the ring, and particularly when things during the actual bout starting going south. Jealousy? Ego? Wrongful accusations? What are your overall thoughts on this situation?

One year ago, WWE had a massive cut to their roster and let go of talent such as Rusev, Kurt Angle, Lio Rush among many others. Now a year later, another Mass firing of talent takes place, leaving 9 wrestlers moving on from WWE for now. The list includes Peyton Royce, Billie Kay, Mickie James, Bo Dallas, Wesley Blake, Chelsea Green, Samoa Joe, Tucker, Kalisto. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful noted that John Laurinaitis, who recently took over as head of WWE Talent Relations, made the release phone calls this afternoon and cited budget cuts as the reason for the departures. Tucker tweeted almost immediately after his departure and wrote, “Freedom baby!!” Mickie James thanked WWE Chairman & CEO Vince McMahon in her post-release comments. “Grateful for the memories. Grateful for the locker room. Grateful for the fans. Grateful for these little keys to my golden handcuffs. You can never expect others' vision of you to be big as your own dreams. Thank you Vince McMahon” she wrote. There is no word on what exactly led to the departures. Many were shocked and commented via social media including Renee Young, Lio Rush, Nick Aldis, CM Punk, Kayla Braxton, among others. Billie Kay was recently featured at Wrestlemania 37 alongside tag team partner Carmella. Peyton Royce and Billie Kay were Once the tag team known as The IIconics but were split apart and both never recovered from the quick character change. Peyton Royce cut a promo on Raw Talk that trended all over social media in which she states her frustrations and called out Asuka. Peyton later lost to Asuka and wasn't used again.

Welcome back to Sidenote Suplex. Today’s Topic: AEW’s Chris Jericho Appearing on WWE Network for Interview With  Stone Cold Steve Austin. Is WWE and AEW working closer together than we know? News broke Friday afternoon that wrestling worlds will collide with the special edition Broken Skull Sessions featuring current AEW roster and ex WWE champion Chris  Jericho. Jericho, who is one of the driving forces of All Elite Wrestling, will be the guest on Steve Austin’s Broken Skull Sessions on the network following the second night of WrestleMania 37 on Sunday. “Having someone from there on a WWE show, especially the caliber of Chris Jericho, is pretty damn cool,” Austin says. “Chris spent almost 20 years in WWE. Welcome to the Sidenote Suplex Sidenote Sampler. In this episode we discuss: Keith Lee, Andrade, WWE Hall Of Fame and WWE Fastlane 2021. WWE broke the news on Sunday night that it had granted Andrade his release from his WWE contract, making him a free agent. The news came weeks after reports of "El Idolo" requesting his release (and WWE reportedly rejecting it initially) popped up online and just a few days after the former NXT Champion confirmed the rumors on his Twitter account. Andrade has yet to open up publicly about why he wanted out (or why WWE relented and gave him his release), but former WWE star Epico (Orlando Colon) shed some light on the situation while on the UnSKripted podcast this week. "I've been talking to him. I saw him in Orlando two weeks ago and he was like "they are not doing anything with me and it's not a matter of the money but me following my dreams," he said [h/t Sportskeeda]. "I hate sitting at catering every week. It's pretty toxic when you look at it that way. You've got the best performers in the world over there. Just look at the locker room.” Keith Lee hasn’t appeared on WWE programming in over a month and there’s been a lot of speculation as to why. Fightful Select reported today that Lee isn’t factored into WWE creative plans at the moment. However, it’s not a situation like Aleister Black, who isn’t being used at all. It was reported that Lee was sidelined for health reasons in February. Fightful noted WWE has not cleared him for a return as of yet, but he underwent some testing following being sidelined. WWE sources told the media outlet he is actively trying to get cleared. The Great Khali is the latest name added to the 2021 WWE Hall of Fame class. The Hall of Fame that started with Andre the Giant will now have a new giant-sized inductee added to its ranks in 2021. After The Undertaker revealed Kane's WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2021 inclusion, fellow WWE Legends and Superstars such as Triple H, Stephanie McMahon, Mick Foley, Drew McIntyre and more paid homage to The Big Red Monster. Undertaker appeared on WWE’s The Bump to give Kane the good news. The current 2021 hall of fame class is Molly Holly, Kane, Great Khali, Eric Bischoff with rumored Rob Van Dam and Batista from the 2020 class will not be featured. WWE Fastlane 2021 featured in a main event Roman Reigns vs Daniel Bryan with special enforcer Edge.

Jack Evans reportedly picked up some backstage heat after this week’s AEW Dark main event. The 15th and final match on this past Tuesday’s AEW Dark episode saw 10 (Preston Vance) of The Dark Order defeat Evans in singles action. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that this “bad match” included Evans doing a Phoenix Splash, where he ended up catching 10 in the face with an elbow. 10 was busted open badly and could be seen dripping blood through his mask. It was noted that Evans and 10 went right to the finish, and 10 needed work done after the match. It was also said that this “bad match” may be why the original AEW Dark feed for Tuesday was taken down and edited. After the 10 vs. Evans match, “-1” Brodie Lee Jr. jumped into the ring as planned and did a fist bump to the bloody hand of 10. The Observer reports that this was edited out of the original broadcast because people saw the young kid fist bumping a guy covered in blood. This aired just hours after Brodie Lee’s widow, Amanda Huber, took to Instagram and issued a statement on fans criticizing AEW for how they have continued to use her son on their shows. Evans reportedly got internal heat from “the people you don’t want heat with” in AEW. Evans was also not in Angelico’s corner on AEW Dynamite the next night at St. Patrick’s Day Slam when he lost to Rey Fenix in singles action. There is no word on if the botched spot had anything to do with Evans being absent from Angelico’s corner on TNT Dynamite.

Charly Caruso is no longer appearing on RAW Talk, and many fans wondered when she will be seen again. Backstage heat reportedly caused Caruso to be pulled from television. According to Fightful Select, Charly Caruso gained heat backstage because she was late to do interviews intended for RAW. It was reported that there were “specific instances with Randy Orton and Sheamus” that caused this decision. Caruso also appears for ESPN as Charly Arnolt, her real name. She still has plenty of fans who love to see her, but it won’t be on WWE television right now. A new report says Charly Caruso is no longer on RAW Talk, that she was pulled from television due to her tardiness. Fightful Select continued to report that Caruso might be leaving WWE very soon. It’s unknown what her current contract status is, but there are a lot of people in the company who don’t expect for her to stick around much longer. There is a belief that her WWE contract is expiring soon. There is no word on whether she will sign a new deal, or what her future is in WWE. It was also said that Vince McMahon got word of her tardiness and he “took exception to the situation.” Kevin Patrick, the new host of RAW Talk, is also being seen as a “direct replacement” for her. The jury seems to be out right now, but she hasn’t left WWE yet. Charly Caruso made her debut in 2016.

Back at the 2000 WWE Royal Rumble, Taz made his big debut by submitting Kurt Angle in a relatively quick match. Towards the end of the bout, Taz pulled off a few of his signature suplexes on Angle, one of which Angle flipped over in midair and landed on his stomach. According to Jim Ross — who brought in the ECW star — Taz’s suplexes were considered dangerous by some people backstage. “Nobody could’ve had a better debut in Madison Square Garden than Taz got and he beat Kurt Angle by submission,” Ross said on an episode of Grilling JR earlier this year. “People thought his suplexes were dangerous, a lot of the talents got back to Vince and said, ‘I don’t really want to work with this guy.’ Enough of the top talents convinced McMahon that Taz was not a good hire, he was limited on what he could do, his suplexes were dangerous, so he fell out of favor.” On The Kurt Angle Show, Angle wanted to make it clear Taz was not a dangerous wrestler, and it was in fact his idea to pull off that particular suplex during the match in 2000. (h/t Inside the Ropes for the transcription): “Taz was not dangerous,” Angle stated. “That was my idea. I told Taz to give me a German suplex and throw me really high in the air, I would flip over to my stomach. I wanted to do a moonsault German suplex where I landed on my stomach, I thought it’d look really vicious and brutal. So that was all my call. I’m not sure why Taz didn’t then tell the office that I’m the one that chose the move. Taz was never dangerous with his suplexes. He was relatively safe, I never had a problem with him.”

Andrade has dropped the “WWE” from his Twitter handle. The hottest story in the IWC in the last 24 hours, Andrade (AKA Andrade Cien Almas) who is still listed as a WWE RAW Superstar, changed his Twitter handle causing concern and intrigue. He can now be found at AndradeElIdolo instead of AndradeCienWWE. His Twitter bio also no longer mentions him being a WWE Superstar, and he is just billing himself as a wrestler. Andrade’s Instagram bio still has him as a WWE Superstar. Andrade posted a new Instagram photo from Orlando and captioned it with, “Si no te gusta donde estás muévete no eres un árbol! Feliz fin de semana! If you don’t like where you are, move you are not a tree. Great weekend! Only adding more intrigue and questions. Andrade reportedly requested his release at this week's RAW tapings, on Monday, March 8th, but WWE has not granted it. According to Fightful, people behind the scenes in WWE said they expected Andrade's course of action, but Andrade's release isn't expected to happen immediately. It's also said that Andrade's push quickly fizzled out once Paul Heyman was removed from his Executive Director role on RAW. Subsequently, Andrade wasn't moved to either brand in the 2020 WWE Draft. Rumors have also suggested that Vince McMahon has changed his mind on Andrade's potential. Andrade is part of a handful of WWE Superstars who Vince McMahon reportedly doesn't believe in. Similarly, Aleister Black lost his push when Paul Heyman left his Executive Director role in 2020. Many fans have been comparing these two superstars because they're both former NXT Champions who have vanished from television. Andrade was last seen on WWE television in October 2020. In the weeks leading up to this appearance, his tag team with Angel Garza imploded after the duo unsuccessfully competed for the RAW Tag Team Championship. Next, The Fiend and Alexa Bliss attacked Andrade and Zelina Vega on the October 12th episode of

Shortly thereafter, Zelina Vega was released from WWE and some fans have connected her departure with Andrade's lack of prominence on WWE programming. Either way, it's unclear what the former United States Champion's future holds. A person close to the situation told PWInsider that Andrade looked 'absolutely terrible' this past Monday on RAW. Charlotte also requested to do something with Andrade but that was also shot down. In this episode, we also address IWC Andrade haters, Andrade’s promo “skills” and much more. Jealousy? Ego? Why can’t some credible proven talent shine through? Are backstage politics and hierarchy hindering this? Who are the young new stars of the now and future? Should language be used as an excuse in 2021?

Welcome Back to Sidenote Suplex. In this segment: Christian and Paul Wight backstage notes, diving deeper into the jump from WWE to AEW. Christian Cage spoke about his decision to leave WWE and sign a contract with AEW in an interview with Renee Paquette on the Oral Sessions podcast. The ex-WWE Superstar made his AEW debut Sunday at the Revolution pay-per-view, but he told Paquette that he hadn't even officially signed with the company until days beforehand (transcript via PW Mania): “On Wednesday [March 3], there was nothing signed. It was a shock to me when I heard [Paul Wight’s announcement]. Obviously, Tony [Khan] and I hit it off pretty quick and we felt comfortable enough that we were going to work together. I wasn’t sure I was going to go (to AEW after the Rumble) and all the talks I had (with WWE) were very cordial. [Jon Moxley] talked to me and had his opinions and made me think, ‘Okay, I’m doing myself a disservice if I don’t at least explore my options.’ At this final stage of my career, I had a conversation with Tony and it escalated very quickly. Within a week, it was a done deal.” Cage, who wrestled as Christian full-time in WWE from 1998-2005 and again in 2009-2014, took part in WWE's Royal Rumble event last January. It appeared that Christian could be beginning a third full-time stint with WWE, but AEW's appeal ultimately swayed the 47-year-old.

Wight foreshadowed Christian's debut March 3 when he told play-by-play commentator Tony Schiavone on AEW Dynamite that the promotion would be picking up a Hall of Fame-worthy talent that would be making his debut at the Revolution PPV. Big Show Paul Wight will still be working with WWE with the Special Olympics events Annually held by WWE.Paul Wight, the former Big Show in WWE, recently debuted in AEW. Although he is primarily going to be an announcer on AEW Dark: Elevation, Wight will be wrestling at some point during his tenure with the company. Paul Wight stated he has interest in facing Darby Allin and working in some capacity with Kenny Omega, Wardlow, Luchasaurus, Lance Archer and others. How do you feel about these potential matches? Are you excited to see Paul Wight and Christian?

Christian Cage is officially All Elite. At AEW Revolution, Christian Cage was revealed as the "Hall of Fame worthy" signing by AEW. Christian came out to ramp, stepped in the ring, signed his contract, and walked to the back without cutting a promo. Christian retired in 2014 due to injuries, but managed to return to the ring at 2021 Royal Rumble, making a surprise entry in the match. Christian entered the Rumble at number 24 and lasted just over 18 minutes before being tossed by Seth Rollins. He didn't make a follow-up appearance on WWE television. He did appear on WWE's The Bump following the Royal Rumble to discuss his return. At the time, he said no decision had been made on his future. The main event of the pay-per-view saw Kenny Omega beat Jon Moxley (with help, since the Good Brothers gave an assist), and the trio ended up handcuffing Moxley and leaving him in the ring as the countdown was set to expire. Eddie Kingston came out and tried to save him, then saw the timer expiring so he covered his friend to try and protect him. The clock hit zero and a few brief puffs of smoke and pyro went off, but it was certainly not the exploding ring some were expecting. Moxley first addressed the ending in a post-match promo, caught by some fans and released by AEW on social media. Moxley put over Omega as a “tough son of a bitch”, but added that he “can’t build an exploding ring worth a shit.” Later on the Revolution post-show media call, Tony Khan was asked about the explosion not going according to plan, and he explained it as if the ending we got is what was supposed to happen. Khan said there were no serious injuries in the match and it was a great spectacle, but “maybe we’re all lucky” that the bomb going off at the end didn’t do the damage as intended. Khan added that Kenny built a dud and jokingly asked “who would’ve thought that when he drew up his big plan with crayons” that it might fail. When asked how everything came together during a media call after the pay-per-view, Tony Khan revealed that it was Christian, desiring to compete on a more regular basis, who made the first contact and Tony was more than happy to get him on board.

Pat McAfee Responds to Cody Rhodes’ Claim That He is Trying to Get a Job at AEW. NXT’s Pat McAfee has been talking about AEW a lot recently, mostly in r esponse to Shaquille O’ Neal wrestling on AEW. During a media call, AEW’s Cody Rhodes expressed surprise that McAfee had such a negative opinion of AEW having a celebrity match with Shaq as McAfee himself wanted to be on AEW. “I’m pretty sure Pat is trying to get a job at AEW like every other day, but that’s another conversation,” said Cody Rhodes. Shortly after, McAfee responded to Rhodes, stating that he had no interest in going to AEW. He made his statements on The Pat McAfee Show. “Cody Rhodes just said I’ve been trying to get employed by AEW or whatever every other day,” said McAfee. “I’d like that to be know that is not true.” “I’ve actually contemplated retirement more than I’ve contemplated going to AEW,” McAfee added. Is this a work or shoot you think? Despite this and his previously disparaging words regarding Shaq wrestling, McAfee watched the match and seems to have been grudgingly impressed. Pat McAfee has been involved with WWE since 2018 when he began appearing as an analyst during NXT Takeover Events. He was officially signed to a multi-year contract in February 2019. He began his WWE wrestling career with a match against Adam Cole during NXT TakeOver XXX and had his second match during NXT TakeOver: WarGames last December. On the March 3rd 2021 AEW Dynamite on TNT, Cody Rhodes and Red Velvet vs Jade Cargill and Shaq opened up the show. Many were surprised at how well the team Of Shaq and Jade Cargill performed and Shaq’s Table bump began trending soon after airing. Stay tuned for more NXT and AEW news as it breaks.

ASUKA: Much like many wrestling fans had feared, it looks like WWE did indeed have plans for Asuka to drop the Raw Women’s Championship to Lacey Evans at last month’s Elimination Chamber. As per Fightful Select, the original plan was for Lacey Evans to defeat the Empress of Tomorrow at the February PPV. From there, Evans would’ve walked into WrestleMania 37 as the defending Raw Women’s Champion against Charlotte Flair. Fightful didn’t detail where this would’ve left her for this year’s Showcase of the Immortals. Purely speculating here, but a singles match with Rhea Ripley could’ve been one option, and similarly about against a strongly built Shayna Baszler is something fans would still be keen on if handled correctly. Other than that, it’s pretty slim pickings on the Raw brand right now. The feud between Lacey Evans and Charlotte Flair has now been completely scrapped due to Evans becoming pregnant with her second child. This recent week’s Raw saw Flair make it known that she has plans to challenge Asuka for the Raw Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 37, although that match is far from locked in right now. Much is quiet about Asuka currently..speculations on concussion…stay tuned for more info.. JIMMY/JEY USO: A video has emerged online of Jimmy Uso training for a return to the ring. The video shows Uso running back and forth through a room in the WWE Performance Center to test his leg. Uso has not wrestled since WrestleMania 36 due to a torn ACL. There is no word on when Uso will be returning to the ring. During his absence, his brother Jey Uso has joined forces with their cousin Roman Reigns as a singles wrestler. Is WWE missing a huge opportunity for layers within the Roman Reigns storyline? Should Naomi and Tamina be included? Or other members of the Samoan Dynasty? Samoa Joe: Samoa Joe is enjoying his work as part of the Monday Night Raw broadcast team, but he is treating his time away from the ring as only temporary. “I don’t think my in-ring career is done,” Joe says. “I have some really strong goals I look forward to pursuing in the near future.”

It appears that the Wednesday Night War will be coming to an end as NXT and USA have been discussing moving the show to Tuesday nights -- a conversation that may be in the final stages of being put into motion. The targeted date for the move is April 13th -- the first Tuesday after WrestleMania. The Mat Men podcast was the first to report the story with our Dave Meltzer confirming. Meltzer couldn't confirm whether it's a done deal, but that if not, they are very close, adding it's been heavily talked about over the last seven days. He also added that almost all the key NXT personnel haven't been told about a move. If the move happens, it would leave the Wednesday 8 PM Eastern timeslot to AEW who moved head-to-head against NXT when they launched Dynamite in October 2019. MLW also runs on Wednesday nights, but airs before both shows. It was believed that when NBC announced a move to fold NBC Sports Network later this year and move some of that programming to USA, the National Hockey League would present a conflict for NXT due to their Wednesday night slot on the NBC Sports Network. However, on the February investors call, WWE president Nick Khan said the shutdown would not affect or impact Raw or NXT. It's unknown at this point what precipitated this conversation at this point in time. While Dynamite would benefit from the move, Impact Wrestling likely would not as they also air from 8-10 PM Eastern on AXS TV and Twitch with AEW Dark airing on YouTube starting at 7 PM Eastern. When asked repeatedly over the last year plus about moving NXT off Wednesdays, Paul "HHH" Levesque reaffirmed their stance on playing the long game and questioned why no one asked "anyone else" about moving since they were there first. From a conference call last September, Levesque said there are always conversations around the placement of their products all the time. "It comes down to a question of where the show best sits, not only for us, but our partners and wherever they want to go to. We're open to doing the best business we can, but it's not as simple as it's our decision and we just put the show where we want," he said. (Wrestling Observer)

In this segment, let’s dive Into the future of RVD and WWE. Van Dam gained mainstream popularity in Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW). During his time in ECW, he was managed by Bill Alfonso and had memorable feuds with Jerry Lynn and Tag Team partner Sabu. They would win the ECW World Tag Team Championship twice. On April 4, 1998, Van Dam defeated Bam Bam Bigelow to win the ECW Television Championship, a title he held for 700 days until he vacated the championship due to an injury on March 4, 2000. When ECW closed, Van Dam signed a contract with the World Wrestling Federation and was involved in the Invasion storyline, where several former WCW and ECW wrestlers joined forces against WWF wrestlers. After the Invasion ended, Van Dam wrestled the following years as a singles and tag team wrestler, winning the Hardcore, Intercontinental, European, Tag Team, and World Tag Team Championships. At WrestleMania 22, Rob Van Dam won the Money in the Bank Ladder match. After this victory, he received a big push and challenged WWE Champion John Cena to a title match at One Night Stand, an ECW-themed PPV. At the event, Van Dam defeated John Cena and won his first World Championship. Two days later, Paul Heyman awarded Van Dam with the reactivated ECW World Heavyweight Championship. While speaking with That 90’s Wrestling Podcast, Rob Van Dam has revealed that he was contacted by people within WWE recently about a documentary that the former WWE Champion has revealed is set to come out in May. The former ECW man has also explained that while they haven’t filmed much of the documentary yet, the majority of the filming will be taking place very soon: “They [WWE] contacted me and asked if I’d be interested and that they wanted to make a documentary on me, and I said sure, I’d be interested. We haven’t actually shot much of it yet, but, [whispering] it comes out in May. So we’re gonna be shooting a lot of it real soon. So I’m excited about it, I’m talking to them [WWE] about doing a book, we’re in talks.” The Whole Damn Show’ has sat down with the TC Martin Show to talk about his upcoming WWE Icons special on the WWE Network and reveal that even though he has been absent from the Stamford group for seven years, they imposed zero restrictions on the tales he was allowed to tell: “It’s part of the Icons series. A lot of people caught the Yokozuna Icons and I watched it the other day to know what to expect. I’m so stoked and it’s so good. It’s not going to be like another documentary. This is telling my whole story.”

It was rumored that the former NXT Champion Aleister Black had requested to be moved back to NXT but was denied. Dave Meltzer has now noted that Aleister Black will continue to be part of SmackDown for now and that he did not make a very strong request. Although, it is known that the master of the Black Mass does want to go back to the Black-and-Yellow brand. 'There were reports Aleister Black asked to go back to NXT and was turned down. That’s basically true as far as smoke and fire but not exactly true. We were told he didn’t directly ask and get turned down, but he did float the idea around and nobody seemed interested when he did so’' Via Dave Meltzer. Aleister Black has failed to make a mark on the main roster since his arrival. It was believed that Black was one of the Superstars who Paul Heyman wanted to get over when he was in charge of RAW. However, after the departure of Paul Heyman, Black has been languishing in the mid-card. Aleister Black is a former NXT Champion and hopefully, he will not be punished for the statements and the actions of his wife outside WWE. A Reminder that Zelina Vega WWE announced it had released Zelina Vega from her contract, just hours before SmackDown was going on the air with FOX in 2020. Speculation was abuzz all weekend about WWE's reasoning behind the release. Many fans figured it was due to her insistence on being able to continue utilizing her Twitch account. However, the word is now coming out that it was more than that. According to Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, WWE informed him that Vega breached her contract in October when she opened up her OnlyFans account. Barrasso was told that WWE owner Vince McMahon, in particular, saw this as a breach of contract, which led to her release.

What do you think? Do you think Aleister should go back to NXT like Finn Balor? Maybe face off against Karrion Kross? Let Us Know In the Comments Below...Thanks for stopping by!
