Have we become a nation of apologists, where discipline and accountability are mere afterthoughts? This episode dives deep into the frustration of a society that's gone soft, questioning the lack of consequences and the endless excuses. Politicians seem more focused on coddling criminals than protecting citizens, and the once-valued principles of law and order are now dismissed. Hector and Mike argue that leniency has led to rampant, repeat crimes, and they passionately call for a return to common sense: tougher laws, stricter punishments, and a rejection of the enabling attitudes that let criminals thrive. This discussion is a wake-up call for anyone tired of seeing the fabric of society unravel.

In this episode of "The Hector and Mike Experience: Common Sense in an Uncommon World," Hector and Mike dive into President Biden’s latest immigration plan, exposing its timing as a desperate move to salvage plummeting poll numbers ahead of the election. They question the plan's arbitrary cap of 2,500 asylum seekers per port, revealing how it plays right into cartel hands, jacking up prices for desperate migrants.
The duo question the Biden administration for turning a blind eye to the nationwide impact of illegal immigration, from overburdened social services to compromised community safety. As Democrats are torn and Republicans denounce it as a blatant political stunt, where do independents stand?
Hector and Mike argue this isn't about fixing the border crisis—it's a calculated, last-ditch effort to sway voters. Tune in for an analysis that cuts through the political noise and gets to the heart of the issue.

In this podcast, Hector and Mike discuss President Trump's unprecedented conviction on 34 counts and the perception that the trial is a political strategy to prevent his 2024 run. The trial was orchestrated by political opponents, with New York DA Alvin Bragg prioritizing Trump’s prosecution over pressing local crime issues, and it is starting to backfire, at least when it comes to fundraising.
Trump’s campaign raised $53 million in just 24 hours after the jury found him guilty. This trail has galvanized his base rather than diminished his political prospects.
The timing of the sentencing, set just before the Republican National Convention, further fuels speculation of political maneuvering.
Hector and Mike also compare Trump's legal troubles to everyday concerns of voters, like inflation and the cost of living, suggesting these issues resonate more with the public than the legal proceedings against Trump.

Join Hector and Mike in this episode of "The Hector Mike Experience: Common Sense in an Uncommon World." This time, our hosts dive into the hot topic of the unprecedented upcoming debates between Joe Biden and Donald Trump. Breaking tradition, the candidates have taken charge, bypassing the Presidential Debate Commission, which both parties unanimously criticized.
Hector and Mike discuss the implications of these early debates scheduled for June and September, even though neither candidate will be their party's official nominee by the June 27 debate.
How will Trump’s ongoing legal troubles and Biden’s health impact the debates?
This episode also touches on a strange story from Fresno, where a lawyer, Alfred Rava, sues the minor league baseball team, the Grizzlies, for gender discrimination over a Ladies' Night promotion. Hector and Mike highlight how this attorney has turned suing over gender-based promotions into a lucrative business.

This new grading system will eliminate D's and F's. You show up, and you get passed. If you want to nap in school or don’t want to do homework or in-class assignments, we have “Equity Grading.”
Is this really equity? Or is it a way for the school to boost graduation numbers?

In addition, Hector and Mike review President Joe Biden’s recent campaign trip to Pennsylvania. In following President Trump, he ordered milkshakes at a fast-food place and repeatedly said that cannibals ate his uncle.

"Dive into the heart of controversy with our latest podcast episode: 'Identity at the Polls: The Voter ID Debate Ignites in Huntington Beach.' With the 2024 primary election around the corner, the residents of Huntington Beach stand at the crossroads of a pivotal decision: the potential implementation of Measure A, a groundbreaking charter amendment mandating voter identification at the polls.
This proposal has sparked a firestorm of opposition from high-profile figures such as California Attorney General Rob Bonta and Secretary of State Shirley Weber, alongside legislative maneuvers by State Senator Dave Min to forestall such measures through Senate Bill 1174. But what lies beneath the surface of this heated debate?
Our episode peels back the layers of this complex issue, challenging the narratives that have dominated headlines. Is the call for voter ID an act of suppression or a step towards securing the sanctity of our elections? Does it disproportionately impact communities of color, or are these concerns masking a deeper issue within our society? And ultimately, who stands to gain or lose without voter ID laws?

Hector and Mike discuss the Washington Post story that President Joe Biden is frustrated by his horrible poll numbers (38 percent approving of his job performance, 58 percent disapproving) and demandinganswers and a plan. https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2023/12/18/joe-biden-polls-campaign/
Mike discusses how, for months, the president and first lady Jill Biden have told aides and friends they are frustrated by the president’s low approval rating and the polls that show him trailing former president Donald Trump.
More from the Washington Post Story: We’ve furtherseen remarks by the Obama-whisperer,David Axelrod, to the effect that President Biden should consider bowing out of his reelection bid — and then more recently adding that the president’s record-low approval rating is “very, very dark” news for his campaign.
And just this weekend, we found an unidentified source “familiar with [former President BarackObama’s] thinking” telling the Wall Street Journal that Obama knows the presidential race is going to be “close,” “feels the Democrats very well could lose,” and worries that “the alternative” — Donald Trump — “is pretty dangerous for democracy.”
NBC News: All come from Democratic strategists whose low-boil frustrations with Biden’s candidacy erupted over the weekend amid bleak polling numbers. No less a party mastermind than David Axelrod, architect of Barack Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign, suggested in a social media post that Biden consider dropping out of the race and letting someone more electable take his place as the Democratic presidential nominee.

How bad are things? Harris has a higherapproval rating than Biden: The Monmouth University survey showed the 81-year-old Biden receiving just a 34% approval rating — the lowest in the poll’s tracking of his administration and down 20 percentage points from its peak in April 2021 — and a 61% disapproval rating.
Harris fares a little better, but her 35% approval rating and 57% disapproval rating are positively glowing marks compared to her boss.

Hector and Mike talk about the latest report from the California Center for Jobs, where they looked at Shohei Ohtani's decision to defer most of his annual salary of $70 million over 10 years and the tax implications.
"Shohei Ohtani's new contract with the Dodgers is worth $70 million a year for 10 years, but he will get only $2 million a year while deferring the remaining $68 million to the following decade. In the interim, Ohtani will have to make do with his additional endorsement income of at least $40 million a year, assuming some of that is not deferred as well.
"Who gets to tax the deferred income will depend on Ohtani's official residence when the payments areactually made. If paid up front, the full $70 million would be subject to California's highest-in-the-nation 13.3% income tax rate plus an additional 1.1% based on the stealth-expansion of the California State Disability Insurance tax rate. … Deferring the income potentially saves Ohtani an additional $9.8 million annually in taxes, or $98 million over the life of his contract." https://centerforjobs.org/ca/special-reports/special-report-california-strikes-out-on-ohtanis-blockbuster-dodger-deal

If things couldn’t get more backward in California, hereis another thing for that list.
Hector and Mike discuss that 18California kids (under 18 years of age) are suing the Environmental Protection Agency, claiming that their “constitutional rights” were not protected because of the impact of climate change on their lives. https://www.npr.org/2023/12/11/1218499186/18-california-children-are-suing-the-epa-over-climate-change
A 17-year-old Long Beach resident called Genesis B (minor) says that with the increasingly extreme heat days, Genesis is unable to staycool in her home during the day - "On many days, Genesismust wait until the evening to do schoolwork when temperatures cool down enough for her to be able to focus” It should be noted that Genesis’ parent can’t afford air conditioning.
What about going to the library orstaying in school to finish the work? Does Genesis of these other 17 kids have a cell phone, sneakers, walk on roads, or use a mop or umbrella, play sports, or wear clothes? If they say yes, they are using petroleum-based products. Get rid of these petroleum-based items before filing a lawsuit.
Or is this another ploy to have the government agency settle out of court to help fund the environmental groups behind this lawsuit?
What about the pollution from importingoil from foreign countries? Should we sue those countries?

Hector and Mike examine why 7 of California’s top 12 insurers have paused or restricted new business since 2022, and consumer options seem to shrink daily.
Farmers Direct Property and CasualtyInsurance Co. recently announced plans to endcoverage in California and shift most policyholders to its parent company, Farmers, which already has limited coverage in California.
In May, State Farm announced a freeze onnew policies: https://calmatters.org/housing/2023/05/state-farm-california-insurance/
For years, insurance companiescomplained to the California Insurance Commissioner, Richard Lara (https://www.insurance.ca.gov/0500-about-us/01-commissioner/), legislators, and the Governor that current rates and the existing regulations don’t allow them to offset the cost of doing business in the state’s most at-risk regions. Insurance companies point to three main areas:
Wildfire risk, the cost of global reinsurance (the cost of insurance policies that insurance companies take out on themselves), and the increasing cost of construction in California.
So where is everyone going forinsurance: The California FAIR Plan.
As of October, the FAIR Plan had anexposure of $290 billion, a nearly sixfold increase from the $50 billion of exposure it had in 2018.

With no trial, jury, or presentation of offense or defensive stance on whether President Donald Trump's speech and words led to a level of insurrection under the 14th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, the Colorado Supreme Court removed Trump from the ballot.
Discussing the implications of this decision, Hector and Mike point out an unexpected twist. What would typically spell the end for most campaigns has become a boon for Trump. Republicans whopreviously withheld their endorsement are now rallying behind him in opposition to the CO Supreme Court's decision. Even Trump's fiercest critic, California Governor Gavin Newsom (a staunch Democrat), has criticized the CO Supreme Court's overreach. In an ironic turn of events, Trump's opponents now defendhim.
This decision by the CO Supreme Court ismaking the case that Democrats in power are persecuting Trump, as the Democratic preferred candidate's poll numbers are cratering. This seems like election interference is what the Trump team is saying and it is working to solidify the base.
There's a looming threat that could spell trouble for the Biden team. If the U.S. Supreme Court decides to step in and overturn the CO Supreme Court's decision, the political landscape could shift dramatically.
Trump the Martyr.

Every election cycle we hear “This is the most important election of our generation,” “this election will change the trajectory for the next 100 years,” “If you elect X, this could spell the end of our democracy,” If you elect Y, we are all saved.
And somehow for over 200 plus years our Republic has survived – resignations; assassinations; scandals; debilitating illness; and most of all, abject incompetence. 2024 is no different.
2024 is the most important election of your lifetime because it is the next election of your lifetime. And because men and women have died on battlefields across the world to give you that right to choose who represents you.
Don’t vote because you’re scared. Vote because you are happy or pissed off with interest rates that are almost seven times what they were three years ago, gas prices three times what they were three years ago, home affordability the lowest its been in a long time, and basics like food and clothing higher than it has been.
Democracy will survive whether you vote or not. But if you don’t vote, don’t complain.

Talk is cheap, especially when people are stealing from you. But that’s the best Sacramento can do when it comes to retail theft in California.
Another committee meeting and more discussion in the halls of the Capitol, while the businesses outside the secure halls of the Capitol are getting destroyed by retail theft.
You don’t need talk, you need action. And the action is simple.
When someone steals something, arrest them, prosecute them, throw them in jail even if it’s for a week or a month or a year. Actions have consequences, that’s where you start fixing this problem.
Law enforcement has repeatedly pointed to Proposition 47 as a reason for this increase in property crime. This law says that if you steal less than $950 it’s a misdemeanor. This includes stealing a firearm, as long as it’s with less than $950. Absurd. This should be a felony and there should be jail time.
It is not just Proposition 47, in certain areas in our state we have Zero Bail. That leads to stories like, “Glendora police arrested and released a man three times in one day, blaming California's new zero-bail policy for their inability to keep the suspect behind bars.” https://abc7.com/california-zero-bail-prison-overcrowding-glendora-police-ca/6144190/
Catch and release is fine for fishing, but it does nothing to protect our businesses, our shoppers and our communities. Catch and prosecute and jail – now that’s a real solution.

In this podcast, Hector discusses with Mike a recent interview he had with a reporter about immigration and the idea that there are 16 million people who are living in the United States without documents (undocumented immigrants).
The reporter said we must secure the border before moving forward with any plans. Hector informed the reporter that in the past three years, more than 8.3 million migrants crossed through the border, with 240,000 crossing in October 2023 alone. There is no room for legalization with a broken border.
In the podcast, Mike and Hector discussed the various economic, crime, and national security problems faced throughout the United States with this open border, including the fact that we are letting terrorists into our country, our cities and our neighborhoods. In addition, now that sanctuary states like Illinois and New York and California are seeing the real cost to their local citizens, they are turning on the federal government by cutting programs and blaming the Biden Administration. Can Democrats and Joe Biden come up with an answer that anyone will believe, after the debacle of the last three years?

COP28 (The Conference of the Parties, 28th meeting) was just held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, where more than 200 nations gathered to discuss climate change rules and impose goals for meeting them.
The amount of hot air from the private jet-setting, limousine riding millionaires and politicians could melt the Polar Ice cap, while costing all of us regular people more money out of pockets. me.
The impact of their impractical policies will not just impact the United States, but will have devastating impact around the globe:
The Guardian reported that "Sultan Al Jaber stated there is no science indicating that a phase-out of fossil fuels is needed to restrict global heating to 1.5C, the Guardian and the Centre for Climate Reporting can reveal.
Al Jaber also said a phase-out of fossil fuels would not allow sustainable development 'unless you want to take the world back into caves.'"
To complicate the matters, France 24 reported that" some representatives of African nations have said they could support a phase out deal if wealthy countries, who have long produced and used fossil fuels, agree to quit first. 'To tell Uganda to stop fossil fuels, it is really, really an insult. It's like you are telling Uganda to stay in poverty,' Uganda's energy minister Ruth Nankabirwa said."
Many African countries and others around the world are worried about being left behind economically because they have low electricity access rates and are planning to develop and expand their oil and gas production.
Uganda's energy minister Ruth Nankabirwa told Reuters,
"First in, first out - and we will be happy to be the last one to exit from fossil fuels."
And finally from the Hector and Mike Experience,”How do you stop climate change if the two largest polluters on the planet – Russia and China - are not part of the deal?”

As of this recording, more hostages in the Middle East are being released on both sides. Hamas is releasing 50 civilian hostages, many of them children and the elderly, in exchange for 150 known jailed terrorists. What we saw from a Sky News reporter this past week was absurdity at its worst.
"I was talking to a hostage negotiator this morning," asks host Kay Burley. "He made the comparison between the 50 hostages that Hamas has promised to release, as opposed to the 150 prisoners that are Palestinians that Israel has released. And he made the comparison between the numbers and the fact that 'Does Israel not think that Palestinian lives are not valued as highly as Israeli lives?'"
Government spokesperson Eylon Levy raises his eyebrows in shock.
https://www.timesofisrael.com/liveblog_entry/israeli-govt-spokesmans-reply-to-uk-hosts-question-about-hostage-deal-goes-viral/
It doesn't take a diplomat, a college Professor, or a President to understand common sense. If you are giving away three for every one you get, if those three you are giving up are known terrorists who want to kill your people and destroy your country, and if the people you get in exchange are innocent women and children who survived slaughter, rape, and abuse by your opponent to become hostages, then there is nothing even about this exchange.
It is disheartening to hear and see so many in the United States and around the world justifying what happened on October 7.

Politics is a brutal game. Von Drehle, the Deputy opinion editor and columnist for the Washington Post, recently wrote an opinion piece entitled, “Who can beat The Donald? The Rock.” Drehle writes, “For four years, I have been saying to anyone who will listen — not many people, I must admit — that America has a sure and happy pathway out of the doom loop of Biden vs. Trump, Trump vs. Biden, seemingly for the rest of eternity.
This political hellscape worthy of Sartre’s “No Exit,” this zombie apocalypse, this death of imagination and hope. Johnson is that pathway. A man bigger than the Super Bowl is exactly what we need to break the cycle of despair. Johnson for President!”The business world and Hollywood aren’t the political world. In the world of politics, there are teams of opposition research firms working year-round to collect data on candidates.
They interview friends, colleagues, and acquaintances, trying to dig up dirt. They comb through personal data, financial reports, media interviews, and your social media, compiling pages of information and potential hits. There is also a mountain of issues that you will have to learn and establish a position for - knowing that no matter what you say, there will be groups who are opposed. There are no shortcuts.
The media will love the circus but tear you down - they will test your knowledge and scrutinize your every move. Arnold transitioned from Hollywood to politician, but he left the governor’s office far less popular than when he had entered. He needed to reinvent himself.
Ronald Reagan made the transition, but he was Governor of California first. Having worked in politics for over 60 years (combined years), at least for this election cycle, don’t give up your day job.

Could this debate between California Governor Gavin Newsom and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis be DeSantis’ last stand?
Newsom takes his “not running for president” campaign back on Fox News, with a “nothing to lose” approach to a national audience focusing on every word and gesture he makes.
For DeSantis, the stakes couldn’t be higher. In this “do or die,” Ron needs a win.
Newsom is skilled, smooth and memorizes numbers, events, and facts. He convinces viewers that his talk is based on science, facts, and reality. Newsom’s opponents haven’t been able to push back hard. They get stuck debating the numbers, of which Newsom throws more in the discussion. The result is like punching a pillow – a furious effort by his opponent that has gained nothing. DeSantis can’t afford that.
When Newsom talks about the homelessness programs he has supported, the amount of beds, meals, and people it has helped, DeSantis better have a response. It requires an answer of facts. It requires DeSantis to ask so where is the accountability on all those programs?
Why are you allowing for the construction of a 220-square-foot unit for $720,000 in Los Angeles? Ask about how the money is being spent, who it goes to, and whether they must report back to the city, county, and state. How do you know what is working and what is not? $20 billion in homelessness programs over the past few years, and the situation has only worsened, isn’t a recipe for the nation but one that requires a forensic analysis.
And finally, Ron has to have a defining moment, something along the lines of why does it take a Communist leader for you to do what the people elected you to do – make their streets and neighborhoods safe and clean and crime-free?
Showtime.

In the wake of the 2nd Republican Presidential Debate held at the Ronald Reagan Library, the California Republican Party met for it’s annual convention in Anaheim, in the shadow of Disney.
Although Donald Trump didn’t participate in the debate, he did speak at the state GOP Convention, and shook the walls of the hotel and the Magic Kingdom itself. In an hour-long speech at lunch Trump lay waste to all those who have come after him, both in the political arena and in the courts. And he pulled no punches in the language he used.

What a major screwup.
In response to a public records request, Los Angeles Police Department released every officer's name, rank, serial number, and photograph, including officers, working undercover operations involving gangs, cartels, and narcotics. LAPD Chief Moore apologized to the officers and admitted that the department mistakenly provided the photos of the officers.
And Assemblymembers Corey Jackson (D-Perris) and Ash Kalra (D-San Jose) introduced Assembly Bill 742, which would ban"the use of police dogs for arrests, apprehensions, and crowd control," citing racial bias and trauma.

Mike and I discuss several critical issues, from the renter's assistance program, the Walgreens ban, Silicon Valley Bank's economic impact, and how Mexico is caught in a narco battle.
Newsom Build Momentum For 2024: From banning gas-powered vehicles to "punishing" oil companies and banning Walgreens from state contracts - these short-sighted grandstanding policies are helping California Governor Gavin Newsom build momentum for a potential 2024 presidential run, provided that Joe Biden doesn't run.
Newsom's latest political stunt is hurting those that need Walgreens the most, seniors, and people who can least afford to travel farther for their medication, yet as Newsom takes the moral high ground with Walgreens, he continues to allow California to do business with countries that are anti-LGBTQ+ or who are destroying the rain forest.
Silicon Valley Bank Run: What does the Silicon Valley Bank fiasco mean to our economy, the constant increase in the interest rate, and the impact on inflation? A few years ago, $100 filled up the shopping cart, and now the food covers the bottom. Will this be a repeat of the 2008 collapse?
Renter's Assistance Programs: With renter's protection programs ending, what happens to all those who owe rent? How will that impact homelessness?
Mexico’s Cartel Problems: Mexican cartel issues apology for kidnapping Americans and killing two. The cartel problem in Mexico is difficult for the people and the government.
With the cartel so entrenched in Mexico, is it a lost cause for the government?

Hector and Mike examine whether California Governor Gavin Newsom will challenge Kamala Harris if Biden decides not to run and the continued verbal fighting with Florida Governor DeSantis.
Governor Newsom shouldn’t defer to anyone. He is the Governor of one of the largest states, progressive, and able to raise a ton of money - he shouldn’t blink to anyone within the Democrat Party, especially the Veep.

Republicans used to be the masters of mail ballots, but then came Donald Trump.
Across the nation, as voting by mail (absentee) expanded, President Trump talked about mail fraud and voting machine manipulation and insisted that Republicans cast their ballots in person, not via absentee.
On November 8, Election Day, Californians experienced severe rain throughout the state. How many voters fell ill that day, had to take their kids to practice, experienced long lines, and just went home? As all of us know, life happens.
For Republicans to be successful, they need to stop with the conspiracy theories and engage in all three types of voting – mail, early, and in-person. Play by the rules of the game and use all your weapons.

Before the election, Hector and Mike wondered if Fetterman in PA would be the unforced error that costs the Democrats the Senate. But when the votes were counted, Fetterman was a Senator-elect, and the Red Wave mania turned out to be a Red-Wave illusion. Will GOP learn from its many mistakes or resort to the circular firing squad?
The political pilgrimage to Georgia begins with every political operative in the country, but the bottom line: it won’t make a difference. Democrats won everything they needed on November 8. We now know Nancy Pelosi will give up her gavel as Republicans take control of the House. With such a small margin, will the GOP equip all its members with heart monitors?
Abortion, civility, protecting democracy, and mini-Trumps seemed to be the issues that overcame the economy, inflation, and crime. The message was clear – time to look ahead and stop looking behind.

Georgia was ground zero in 2021 when the MLB All-Star game was moved from Atlanta to Colorado because of election integrity laws passed by the Georgia Legislature. Even the President and Vice President got involved calling it “Jim Crow 2.0” and saying it would “suppress the vote.” On Tuesday, Georgia voters will decide with their feet and their vote by going to the polls and voting. Right now, Georgia already has had more people voting in 2022 (an off-year election) than in the 2020 Presidential election. Will Biden, Harris, and all the other election integrity deniers eat crow when the vote totals are counted?

Rather than begging foreign nations to increase oil production and lower their price, President Biden should just call up Gavin Newsom and have him sign the 1,200 oil permits that are collecting dust on his desk. There is no need to negotiate with countries who hate us and have purposely decreased oil production to side with Russia which is the Vice Chair of OPEC. We should become energy independent.

he election is seven months away, but Gavin Newsom is already playing the Trump card on GOP endorsed Governor candidate State Brian Dahle.
In a zoom meeting with campaign volunteers, Alexei Koseff (CALMatters reporter) wrote on Twitter that Gov. Newsom accused Brian of supporting the January 6 attack and not acknowledging Biden as president: "This guy is Trump through and through.”
This line of attack successfully worked against Larry Elder in the recall campaign, but will it work again? Everyone knows it’s just Gavin trying to talk about anything but the job he has done as Governor of California.
We talked with Brian, and he has more than once denounced the January 6 attack and has publicly acknowledged Biden as president. He also acknowledged that California has the highest gas prices in the nation, the greatest problems of homelessness in the nation, the highest cost of living in the nation, and the great flight of people from any state in the nation. High gas prices, inflation, and a flip-flop foreign policy agenda are causing more anxiety for millions of Americans as they get ready to vote in a few weeks. The GDP cratered in the first quarter of the 2022 to go along with the highest inflation in the last 40 years.
How bad are President Biden's numbers? Just 26% of Hispanic and 41% of youth voters approve of the job Biden is doing.
And American’s faith in our economy is even worse. A recent Gallup poll shows 42% of Americans believe the economic condition of the country is poor, and another 38% rate it only as fair. A New Year but the same rookie mistakes by VP Kamala Harris. In an interview with Administration-friendly MSNBC VP Harris came across as out of touch, told people to “GO Google,” lacked basic facts of the Administration’s own program, and somehow ended up giving props to the work of the Trump Administration.
Last night, Vice President Kamala Harris sat down with MSNBC reporter Craig Melvin to discuss the Omicron variant and the Biden/Harris administration response.
Kamala started her interview by praising the work of creating the vaccines, the boosters and acknowledged that when COVID-19 first hit the United States, there was much we didn't know, but that we are in a much better position now. Without saying Trump's name, the vaccines, booster, therapeutics and the operations for those getting them approved and distributed happened under the Trump administration. That had to leave some people in the West Wing shaking their head.
But now, as we are about to enter the 3rd year of COVID, the Biden/Harris administration act like the Three Stooges are running the show.
In the interview with Melvin, Kamala can't remember how many home COVID tests they ordered and when asked about testing sites, she responds with "do google." She goes on to explain when you want to find a new restaurant go goggle it on how to get there. Apparently to her finding a restaurant and finding a place to get a COVID test are equal.
Why doesn't the Health and Human Service department have a site where people can plug in their zip code and the nearest COVID sites appear? Why doesn't Harris know that her administration told the American people that they had ordered 500 million home test kits? And "do google" is her answer?
After that interview is it any wonder the approval ratings of Harris and Biden are so low.

The Hilda and Jesse restaurant in San Francisco asked three uniform officers to leave because some employees were uncomfortable because they were armed. Then they went online to brag about it, saying that their restaurant was a “safe place.”

Make no mistake – the looting and smash and grab crime taking place in California is being seen around the country. It’s in the news everywhere, and it leaves people inside and outside California asking: Why is this happening?
The question is a natural one. How could a state which boasts so much prosperity become as unsafe as a third world country?
The answer is simple: It is human nature.
Criminals in California understand the laws better than the politicians who pass those laws.
If you allow criminals to get away with stealing from a Walgreens or CVS, why wouldn’t they move up to from stealing from higher-end stores? They think why stop at CVS when you can steal from Nordstrom?
The truly shocking news is that Governor Gavin Newsom seems surprised at what is happening.
Someone needs to tell the Governor that he supported lowering the charges and penalties for many offenses, including reducing property and drug crimes from felonies to misdemeanors (Prop. 47 and 57). Democrats have supported eliminating the bail system.
What is happening is a result of the laws and policies supported and passed into law by our Governor and Legislature.
And then we have District Attorneys who don’t want to prosecute for certain crimes.
People need to be held accountable for what they do. Will they be?
That answer is also simple: No. In Los Angeles 14 out 14 people arrested for violent smash and grabs are still on the streets. Because of the laws on bail, every one of them is out free to do it again, or worse.
You reap what you sow. California has moved radically left in handling crime thanks to our Governor and District Attorneys and Attorney General and state legislators. The result is a state where lawlessness runs rampant with no consequences. And it doesn’t look like it will get better anytime soon.

Today, we talked with Lance Christensen about his work with Fix California Education - Education Saving Account Act of 2022.
Californians pay high taxes for an expensive and outdated public education system that fails our children and does not prepare them for the 21st-century economy. Despite record spending on education this year, California public schools continue to rank below the national average in academics.
The Education Savings Account Act of 2022 is a bi-partisan approach that provides the opportunity to have the funds follow the students so parents can decide which school offers the best options and learning experiences for their students. Additionally, extra funds not used before graduating high school can be saved for college or vocational schools. And the best part is that this comes at no additional cost to taxpayers.
Here are some of the items that the Education Saving Account would provide parents:

Gavin Ghosts California, Biden Payout/Reparations Ignores African & Japanese Americans
Governor Gavin Newsom goes missing, and after ten days, he said his kids wanted him to spend time with them. This is a noble and a wonderful thing that a father should do, but do you believe it?
If that was the reason, Newsom should have said something from day 1. He is the Governor of one of the largest states in the nation. The media was going to ask why he didn’t attend the Climate Change Conference in Scotland and why he had no public events scheduled after he got his booster shot.
On a scale of 1 - 10, the believability is not where it should be - Newsom should have been upfront with it.
There were many rumors about why Newsom didn’t go to Scotland, including that he reacted to the booster shot and an alleged affair.
Will California’s estimated budget surplus of $31 billion create a cycle of dependency? More government services? Or should that additional tax money go back to the people?
Lastly, we look at how the Biden Administration is trying to settle with immigrant families separated at the border ($450,000 per person) but can’t find the money for reparations to African Americans or Japanese Americans.

And what about the trillion-dollar infrastructure bill - $550 billion for roads, bridges, and highways, but where did the rest go? The answer will make you wonder what infrastructure means to Congress.
Did you know there is a provision that requires all new vehicles to have "advanced impaired driving technology" installed? But of course, it doesn't detail what that means.
The President's favorable hovers at 38%. The Vice President's favorables are below 30%. Will the latest payout discussion crater even more?
We discuss that the Biden Harris Administration wants to pay at least $450,000 per person who was separated from their child when they tried to cross the border illegally. Some families can expect to get over a million dollars.
As this payment plan moves closer to reality, expect social media to light up. Here is how some have already couched the argument: If that doesn't offend your senses, think of this - the families of American military men and women who lose a loved one in service to our country only get $100,000. They can receive $400,000 but only IF THEY PAY for an insurance policy.
This immigration issue is bound to get heated as more details emerge.

Virginia is for lovers...of common sense - https://www.virginia.org/
The Commonwealth elects a Republican Governor, a Republican African-American woman Lt. Governor, and a Republican Hispanic Attorney General. Is this a path to success for the GOP for 2022? What's next for a Biden Administration that threw everything they had into Virginia?
Was Kamala right when she said, "What happens in Virginia will in large part determine what happens in 2022, 2024, and on." Will her words come back to haunt the Democrats throughout 2022?
Hector and Mike give President Biden two very different suggestions on who he should call to salvage the Democrat Party in 2022.
And besides Virginia, other elections showed people are fed up with radical ideas which make their communities unsafe. In Minneapolis, a Defund the Police referenda was defeated, and other public safety measures where people are saying: "enough is enough."

As President Joe Biden hits the campaign trail to promote his Build Back Better Plan, are Americans buying it? They might have no choice. It's about the only thing on the shelves these days—a shortage of paper products, chicken, and other staples at the market. The energy price skyrockets and media reports of a lack of Christmas trees and turkeys are daily stories. Will the Biden message cut through the reality in America, or will people be asking, what exactly are you building?
Governor Gavin Newsom institutes vaccination mandates, but his administration supports California prison guards from having to follow those mandates. The Newsom Administration is in court fighting the order.
The Los Angeles Times wrote: "A champion of COVID-19 vaccines, Newsom fights plan to mandate them for prison guards. Newsom and the state's opposition to the mandatory vaccines are supported by the unions representing correctional officers and other staff."
Wait, so the Max Vax Governor says no to mandatory vaccines for prison guards? Why?
Follow the money. "In July, the California Correctional Peace Officers Assn. cut a check for $1.75 million to Newsom's recall defense fund. The Service Employees International Union, which represents about 12,000 staff in prisons, kicked in a combined $5.5 million to Newsom's anti-recall campaign from its various locals." https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2021-09-24/newsom-covid-19-vaccines-prison-guards

As inflation and supply chain problems drive up the cost of diapers, spaghetti sauce and other products, a California State Assemblywoman tweets to Elon Musk “FU," and now Elon is moving Tesla’s headquarters from California to Austin, Texas.
If that wasn’t enough, more California schools are reporting budget deficits, even after the state of California provided them with almost 40 BILLION in new funding…so what happened to all that money?
Is it a full Halloween moon, or just another example of common sense disappearing faster than bacon at a supermarket (Bacon shortage)?

The Mayor of Los Angeles, Eric Garcetti, addressed a small crowd this past week at the groundbreaking ceremony where a 19-story homeless housing project, consisting of 278 units, is scheduled to be built by December 2023.
At a cost of $160 million, the housing project comprises 47 one-bedroom units, 228 studio units, and three units for the managers.
I get that property in Los Angeles is expensive and that lumber and other construction materials are in short supply. But what I don’t understand is the absurd amount of $575,000 per unit—each homeless resident could have been given a condo to own, at a lower cost.
The $160 million price tag doesn’t include maintenance costs or other support services that will be required for the homeless residents. Residences for the homeless should be transitional, safe, and functional. If LA government can’t figure out how to do that for less the $575,000 a unit, they should quit right now.

Virginia gubernatorial candidate, Terry McAuliffe is in some hot water after he was recorded saying that parents should not control what schools teach their kids.
But Terry’s type of thinking isn’t just limited to Virginia, it is found throughout the country - critical race theory, and with the idea that math and test are racist, and if you object, then you get labeled as a racist or white supremist.
Schools are funded with taxpayer money, our money.
Parents are stakeholders in our education system.
Every data point shows the more parents are involved with their kids (whether it’s father, mother, grandparent) the better the chance the kids will grow up right.
As parents we get asked to help fundraise, volunteer, and join the PTA. If our schools are to succeed, they require parent involvement, even if it an inconvenience to the teacher’s union and Terry.

Yes, you read that right. The city of San Francisco, home to the Speaker of the House and the Governor of California and the Vice President of the United States is doing a pilot program where it pays known criminals not to shoot people.
What happened to personal responsibility? Either the population of SF is so bad, or the politicians are so oxygen deprived from the forest fires that they have decided the best way to stop crime is to pay people who commit crime not to do it. Apparently, the thought of arresting people who shoot other people never entered their mind.
If the city already knows the 10 biggest troublemakers, why are they not in jail or under surveillance?
Is this how far we have fallen, where we have to pay bad people to do the right thing, to be good citizens?

In this episode, we look at Virginia gubernatorial candidate Terry McAuliffe’s comments that parents shouldn’t have a say in what schools teach their children. If Terry’s comments are accurate, why do we get asked to join the PTA, help raise money, or volunteer if we, as parents, don’t matter? Now we know who comes first – the union, then the teachers, then everybody else.
We also look at the insane amount of money the city of Los Angeles is spending on homeless apartments: $575,000 per unit.
And in San Francisco there is a new government pilot program that pays 10 individuals not to harm or shoot anyone because they have a reputation for repeated violence.
Whatever happened to personal responsibility? Why does SF only reward people who act badly? Why does LA spend over half a million dollars a unit per homeless person?

"Don't Let California Become Texas" was the message that Governor Gavin Newsom and other state Democrats used to defeat the recall campaign. It galvanized dispassionate Democrats, rang true with Independents, and even cut into recall support among Republicans, especially women.
For Republicans, the Texas law is like kicking a hornet's nest with national implications. What worked in California will be replayed in Virginia on November 2, 2021, in a dead even Governor's race.
Meanwhile, back here in the Golden State, the only thing golden is Gavin. The rest of California still faces the same problems we have had for years - homelessness, wildfires, crime, droughts, and poverty are still with us and have gotten worse in some areas.
Will the political success of Newsom evolve into policy changes that make our state better? And with less than a year until the June 2022 primary elections, another thing to consider is redistricting, and where political lines will be set for the next ten years.
How long do candidates have to lick their wounds from this bad defeat or celebrate their victory?
