In this episode I had the chance to speak with Primerica Insurance Agent and Financial Advisor Chris Taylor about Life Insurance Products and managing money. I felt it was necessary to talk about sharing insight with our listeners because all to often we hear of situations where a loved one died unexpectedly and the family is stuck with the cost of the funeral bill. While we as entrepreneurs and Real Estate Investors work towards building our future for ourselves and our family we must keep in mind the importance of being protected to protect our overall family interest. In this Episode I had the opportunity sit down and speak straight talk and business with the Lovely and very talented Lenora of Houston Forward Times. Her family story is that of Leadership, Tragedy, and Triumph and is simply amazing some of the things that they have contributed to the City of Houston and their Contributions to Civil Rights.
The Houston Forward Times was founded in January 1960, under the leadership of the late founder and publisher, Julius P. Carter. Mr. Carter founded The Houston Forward Times as a means of uniting Black Houston to overcome the obstacles that were holding Blacks in the shackles of second class citizenry. He realized that Blacks could only overcome in unity, and needed a mechanism to communicate their needs to one another.
Mr. Carter passed away suddenly in 1971 after catapulting Forward Times into the third major newspaper in Houston ― a weekly, only behind the two dailies.

Today I had the pleasure of being visited by my father Willie H. Garner III which turned into an impromptu Podcast session from him initially stopping by the office to drop off a wheel barrow! We sat down and started discussing how he got into Real Estate back in the 80s and some of his accomplishments and where the industry has gone since then!
