Love Fulfills the Law
8 Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law. 9 The commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not covet,”[a] and whatever other command there may be, are summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”[b] 10 Love does no harm to a neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.
The Day Is Near
11 And do this, understanding the present time: The hour has already comefor you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. 12 The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light. 13 Let us behave decently, as in the daytime, not in carousing and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and debauchery, not in dissension and jealousy. 14 Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the flesh.[c]

Speaking on the theme of generosity Annika is a Swedish-Italian-American with a diverse vocational and geographical background. Having married a Brit, she’s now settled in Liverpool and joined Stewardship’s Philanthropy Services Team in 2023. Annika is passionate about seeing the Kingdom of God transform all areas of society and equipping the Church to live out its calling as God’s agents of reconciliation. She loves to live generously and expansively through hospitality, travel and strategic giving.

Dan brings a message of hope from 1 Peter 1 - 3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercyhe has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, 5 who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.

Bob Cooper is the Archdeacon of the Diocese of Durham. Bob brought us an encouraging message of hope on his first visit to our church, challenging us to double our numbers by inviting someone to church, which is how his own journey started.
THIS PRAYING THING
I suppose someone, somewhere has got it all wrapped up…
This praying thing….
But it’s not me!
If I were called on to pray in public
I think I’d die…honestly-
Or If I didn’t die, I’d clam-up and stutter out
Some stupid things I’d heard other folk say
And it wouldn’t really be me!
I’ve heard folk say that praying is just like having a
Conversation with You-
But I’m not much good at making conversation either-
Especially with people I don’t know,
And I sometimes feel I don’t know you really well,
Really!
There are lots of things I don’t like about praying, actually!
For instance-
I don’t like it when people sound as tho’ they’ve got it all
rehearsed and off pat!
You must have noticed, surely!
But then-
I don’t much care for the over chatty types;
That doesn’t seem very natural to me, either,
At least, not in public!
So You see the problem…
It looks as tho’ I’ve got to find my own way to you!
Do you know how I’d like to think of it?
I’d like to think of it as ‘coming home’…
You know how it is?
If you want to talk-you do!
If you don’t…you don’t!
And everyone understands!
Could it be like that between me and You?
That wherever I am
Whenever my thought turn to You,
You would count that as prayer?
Because if it wasn’t a difficult thing
I think it would happen more often!

Elijah the Tishbite. John tells us of Elijah and asks two questions: Where is the God of Elijah? and Where are the Elijah's of God?
The Lord God created a man and a woman and Terry tells us of the consequences of their sin. Relationships are crucial, and he considers the greatest example of male friendship: David and Jonathan.
David taught us how to face our own giants. Discover how to face the giant challenges that we are facing today. David was plugged into the source of the power.
In the story of David and Goliath it is Jesus who is our David. We can't defeat the giants in our lives by trying harder but in trusting Jesus to be our giant slayer. When Jesus sets us free, we are free indeed.

Fools Gold’ , (Pyrite) looks like real gold until it’s tested. Even experienced miners can be fooled by it. So it is with faith which must be tested if it is to be proved genuine. Today’s message looks at the trials of Daniel. He demonstrated how his faith was the real deal, proving that we can not only survive through difficulties but actually thrive!”
Daniel and his friends found themselves in a foreign land against their will but gained credibility with their captors. How they conducted themselves acted as a witness to those around them. They demonstrated 3 key values:HumilityRespectPersuasiveness

“How much do our insecurities prevent us from living the kind of life we and our creator God desires for us? What barriers and obstacles stand in the way of the abundant life we’d like to lead? Christ offers a road to freedom. From the past, from the fear of failure. Through his Word, through Worship, and through Witness.
Continuing in Acts. Division in the church is nothing new but we need to work hard to prevent / resolve it by pursuing the unity of the church.& encouraging each other daily.
Continuing in Acts, Chapter 15 describes great friends Paul and Barnabus having a "sharp disagreement" and falling out., No dispute is resolved by ignorance or arrogance, but by humility, patience, love and kindness
Continuing our journey through Acts.The divisions and conflict in the early church still exist today yet if we really understand the gift of grace we should be shoulder to shoulder. A fresh move of God is always preceded by a change in attitude and thinking so to move forward we need to be united in our faith, despite differences.
Continuing our series on the Book of Acts. For many people God is percieved as hard and judgemental but nothing could be further from the truth. God wants us to to be centred on him so that we can have the full lives we were designed for. True worship is measured by the priortiy of God in our lives.
Sam talks about the life of King David. David's story gives us all hope because he had an extremely turbulent young and middle life, getting into all kinds of scrapes but ending up as a man after God's own heart. God dealt with Goliath and he can slay our giants too.
The story of Nehemiah is a great example of being hands on for God He prayed, sacrificed and had tremendous perseverance. The body of Christ is the people, not the buildings we use, and God wants his people to get their hands dirty!
Visionaries use language and actions that bring about results. Initially change might not always feel good but we must believe God is in control.We can't afford to get sidetracked- our future is intrinsically linked with our ability to look aheadDon't settle for good when great is on the menu.
Martin Luther King had a dream.So did Joseph.They were both visionaries. In the same way, if we value the future of the church we have to be dreamers and visionaries too. Godly vision is for the building and edification of the church and without visionary leadership we will never see the fullness of God's plan for us.
We all have fear - Fear of loss. Fear of failure. Fear of rejection. Fear of the unknown. Fear is faith in the wrong things - having faith in the "what if's" rather than faith in God. So- Find the root cause, Give it over to god. Actively seek god - keep on and don't stop. God is bigger than we can imagine, and bigger than all our fears.
And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.
Jesus passionately pursues us. Never gives up, even when we doHe won't relent until he has our whole heart.
Barnabus was an encourager. What would people say about you? Chasing after God means making time for him, dropping all that hinders our relationship with Him. He hears us and doesn't want to miss any of the great things he has planned for us but busy-ness can get in the way.
Continuing the series on the Book of Acts. Some things in life are just too good to miss. Peters challenge - how did he integrate a different culture into a long established congregation is a challenge that faces every growing church.
