I am so thankful for all the hours of practice doing hard things, and overcoming so many fears in the shower but it's time to regulate my nervous system in a different way. They say the things that helped you survive won't help you thrive so I have been switching it up.

some of the tools ive been using:

May 9th Living outside of the "what ifs" inspired by @pastorkeion

the "what ifs" is US judging the circumstances based on our experiences and not really trusting in Gods Plan.

we so easily get stuck in the "What if I had, or did not"

No matter where you are or what you're experiencing good/badm KNOW THAT it is all happening FOR YOU not to you

Emotional Regulation is the ability to exert control over your emotional state.

It involves behaviors such as rethinking a challenging situation to reduce anger or anxiety, hiding visible signs of sadness or fear, or focusing on reasons to feel happy or calm.

At the end of the day it's a process that takes work, and if you want to learn the most effective ways to control such try these strategies... meditation/ identify triggers/ name the emotion/ journal / talk through the emotions/ notice when you may need a break / and be okay with the fact that you're not quite okay.

Learning to have patience as a stroke survivor is a task indeed, but one that is very important as our actions expel out on our loved ones, caretakers

and the unknown.

So being mindful to sit back in thought before reacting can help us to make sure our actions don't affect others negatively or harm ourselves.

side note having Tracey in my life we balance and remind each other of how far we've come but to also slow our roll.

Not going to lie trying to update in real time is hard but at least I'm documenting. I'm doing daily lives to share about my second brain surgery. This time we coiled my aneurysm before it ruptured on 6/12. 7 years ago my aneurysm ruptured on 5/5/16 I had surgery 5/12/16. Please ask questions I want to show a different side of healing and recovery when you retrain your brain

7 years ago I had a ruptured Brain aneurysm on 5/5 drs misdiagnosed me so I went bleeding in my brain for a week until the 12th when I had a coil procedure. On a scan we found a new aneurysm so on 6/12 (wild the synchronicity) I will have another brain surgery. After my first surgery the CPTSD I have managing my anxiety through this all I'm actually proud of my growth. The years of retraining my brain with meditation, breath work, podcasts, binaural beats, somatic dancing, tapping all of this DOES WORK it's not just hippie woo woo so I'm sharing my story. I hope no one else has similar battles but I bet some of these feelings or thoughts can help you feel not alone and give you some relief that we can get better.

This week and I had a really bad migraine so I had to listen to my body and manage my anxiety all knowing that I have another aneurysm when seven years ago my brain aneurysm did rupture. Brain surgery #2 to coil "Arnold"

There's no guides or rules on how to handle healing from anything... so this time around I'm using what I've learned. Saving the positive & motivational for when I need pick me ups. Timer or shorter time blocks of answering messages, comments, consuming content. Reminding myself there is no right or wrong. There is no timeline. I know these are just thoughts & emotions that are healthy, necessary, & just a part of the process. Doesn't mean I have to like it and I just wish I had a better vocabulary & was better at expressing. I see my progress though I use to just ignore & shove things into a box to not even feel anything. Just move on instead of through it. So I appreciate everyone who is helping me evolve. Finding out your fears were correct, coils are slipping & a new aneurysm. But I always knew another brain surgery would happen so I glad we get to have it before it's an emergency.
