This International Women’s Day, we’re celebrating women across St. Modwen – and picking up this year’s theme of #ChooseToChallenge. We know that we need to encourage more women into the property sector – and to raise the profile of inspirational women that make a difference every day. St. Modwen is committed to diversity and inclusion – and we have forged a partnership with Women into Construction to help pave the way for change. In this episode of St. Modwen Talks, we speak to Rachel Doherty – Recruitment Advisor at St. Modwen Homes, to hear her experiences – and to find out why women should consider a career in property and construction.
Attracting more people into the homebuilding sector is one of the biggest challenges faced by the industry. In a bid to try and address this, the Homebuilding Skills Partnership has launched its 'Attract' campaign to bring more young people into the industry and promote the full spectrum of homebuilding careers. In this episode, we speak to Lisa Hooper - a parent of an apprentice - to find out more about her perception of the sector and apprenticeships in housebuilding, as well as any advice that she would give to other parents whose children are looking at careers in housebuilding.
