This week I spoke with Nadia, the co-founder of lifestyle and jewellery brand Stooki.

Nadia and her fellow co-founders launched Stooki in 2011 and have been running the business now for just over 10 years. Despite the ups and downs faced by the trio, Stooki is a remarkable brand that is growing from strength to strength. The brand has been seen on the likes of Anthony Joshua and they made exclusive pieces for performers at the 2018 MTV EMAs.

In this episode, Nadia shares how Stooki was able to collaborate with Topman early on in their business journey, how they utilised pop up shops to build brand awareness and also the realities of working full time on your brand.

This week I spoke with the amazing Toluwa. Toluwa is the Founder of ready to wear, slow fashion, womenswear brand By Luwa.

Toluwa launched her fashion brand ByLuwa at the height of the pandemic in 2020 in the hopes of the pandemic dying down in time for her launch. Despite this not being the case, she went ahead and launched her brand regardless and was amazed at the positive response she received.

She attributes some of her success to user generated content and getting her brand on influencers that she deems are on brand. Many people focus on getting their products on the biggest influencers out there but Toluwa believes getting people that reflect your brand image is the best way to go stating that "ultimately, everyone is an influencer" and we couldn't agree more.

In this episode, we discuss what motivated her to launch her brand at such a turbulent time and also how she's managed to get her products on so many impactful influencers.
