The place where we talk about all aspects of wellness along our motherhood journey. We keep mindset at the center; always bringing it back to the importance of protecting our peace and working on our health from the INSIDE out. Welcome to the convo. I'm so glad you're here!
On today's episode of Empowered in Health, I interview Dana Grinnell. I have been so excited to partner with her more and share her knowledge with all of you.
Dana is a 40-something mother of 3 who lives & loves recreating in the mountains. She worked in healthcare for 17 years where she witnessed the rampant chronic illness in our country and became very passionate about uncovering the root causes and avoiding them to keep myself and my family safe.
Turns out toxins are everywhere!!!! And can wreak havoc on our health if we aren't careful. Speaking of careful, Dana was incredibly diligent for over a decade and a half when she had an unfortunate (or fortunate depending on how you look at it) laundry detergent incident that prompted her to start her business, Free Living Co.
She was returning from a routine trip to Costco when her laundry detergent leaked in the back of the car and turned a radioactive purple color. It dawned on her that it was a chemical reaction that caused that and sure enough the detergent was highly toxic.
Here's the link where you can read more about the story on The Cooldown: https://www.thecooldown.com/green-home/spilled-laundry-detergent-car-trunk-color-change/
Dana shares that it's almost impossible to keep up with all the ingredients that cause harm, reading the labels is time intensive, and you simply can't trust natural or "healthy" stores or brand's marketing claims. Because of this - she decided to build a business to solve this problem and make homes healthier without the hassle.
Tune in to today's episode to hear more of Dana's incredible perspective, key tips and simple, manageable steps you can take to start cleaning up the products in your home, for your health.

On today's episode of The Empowered in Health Podcast, I dive into cycle syncing and the WHY behind learning more about our infradian rhythm. Personally - I've always tracked my cycles casually to have a pulse on when my period was coming...but NEVER for my health, my life, my fitness, my fueling, my mood, my productivity, creativity, performance and more.
I have been MIND BLOWN by the knowledge I've leared inside the SYNC Digital Course and from so many knowledgable practitioners in the women's health space (like from the book - In The Flo by Alisa Vitti). I highly recommend her book if you want to dive into some of the beginner information and strategies around cycle syncing.
The reality is...WOMEN NEED TO KNOW.
And we just don't...
Every. Single. Month. There is SO MUCH happening underneath the surface that deserves nurturing and attention for our health today, for the future - and even more so, the many generations to come.
Our infradian rhythm - our second clock - our cycle during reproductive years - CAN be our superpower when we start to dive in and work with it...
We are all so programmed by the 24/7 circadian clock. That's our society. So it's no wonder women get completely buried, lost, burned out and exhausted trying to "keep up" with the day to day grind....while completely neglecting what's happening with our female physiology.
That's the power of cycle syncing. Finally learning the WHY within your body so you can APPLY the best habits that work for you in your unique, individual life. And the best news? One of the strategic partners I work with as a wellness coach, SYNC, has an amazing cycle syncing fitness program launching next week (5/31/24)!

On today's episode of Empowered in Health, I'm pulling back the curtain on my life right now and how I'm not really feeling "okay". If I've learned anything along my personal health journey and the depth of what I've dug into in relation to mental health, it's this...
Speaking through it. Normalizing the feelings. Talking about the hard. And sharing our truth are some of the BEST and most powerful ways to move through the challenges and heal in different seasons. We are NOT meant to have it all together all the time and we certainly aren't meant to pretend like we do either.
From learning new things about my son's health diagnosis, to barely sleeping through the night, to managing our house, other kids, my work, our marriage and more - I'm feeling stressed these days. And confused. And honestly - a little angry that this is our story. I'm still trying to unpack the why behind it and the deeper reasoning for some of the adversity we've been experiencing.
But here's the thing - it's OK to feel all of the things I just mentioned. It's OK to say that "life is hard". And it's okay to normalize simultaneously feeling blessed and grateful alongside frustrated, sad, overwhelmed and defeated. Feelings can and WILL co-exist.
My deeper prayer in sharing more of my story and being honest about the hard is that it empowers you to normalize the up and down in life too. To know that while the challenges aren't easy and there's so much we will learn through them - that at the same time, we don't have to live there. We are not stuck.
Speaking through the hardships and doing our best to stay grounded in things that help us stay in forward motion and positivity are KEY tools to putting one foot in front of the other. Remember - it's OK to not be OK. Do what you need in regards to finding help, reaching out for support and finding others to lean on.
Please call 988 immediately if you feel you need more resources. You are not alone.

On today's episode of Empowered in Health, I talk about the free group I've been running this week over on Facebook and how incredible the conversations have been with other women that want to learn more about hormone health and working with their female physiology.
So many great questions. So many awesome reflections. Lots of learning, unlearning and unpacking what truly serves our bodies and brains best. Especially as we move through different life transitions, manage hormonal fluctuations and so much more.
In one of the surveys I asked feedback in - I received a great comment that asked the following - "how do we do this? I love all the information, but how do we balance taking care of all of these different aspects to wellness with out burning out?" And my best answer is this...
We do it together. One day at a time. One step at a time.

While leading a lifestyle where we pour into ourselves and our health matters - taking time to unplug, decompress and eliminating added stress matters too. Simple tips like sleep, hydration and movement are more than enough to focus on.
How about you? What simple tips do you focus in on while you're away from your normal routine? Things that help you feel good while also helping you feel balanced and gives you an opportunity to decompress?

On today's episode of Empowered in Health, we talk more about tools beyond the scale. Things that can help tremendously when it comes to assessing overall progress on our wellness journeys. And resources that can truly EMPOWER us to press forward with knowledge that encourages us from the inside out.
So much of the women's health narrative has included the scale and weight loss and the idea of focusing most on less, skinnier, smaller. But when it comes to long-term, longevity health - shifting our mindset is imperative.
The truth is, BMI and Weight on the scale give an inaccurate picture of what's really happening on a deeper level inside our bodies. What about water? What about muscle mass vs. fat mass? What about visceral fat and getting a clearer picture around the kind of "shape" our bodies are in metabolically? The best way to get a snapshot into our wellness on a deeper level is through tools like the WH Ratio, InBody Scan, DexaScan, Measurements, Photos and assessing ENERGY.
You can dive into more research below...
Learn more about WH Ratio Here.
Learn more about InBody Here.
Learn more about DexaScan Here.
In the end - I'm all about EMPOWERED knowledge for women. When it comes to our health, stepping into more specific data for our unique bodies completely changes the game on how we can work towards our health goals. With more information, we can intentionally focus on the habits that will serve us best. From nutrition to supplementation to changing up fitness strategies, protecting rest/sleep and working on stress management - there's so much that goes into how our body feels and functions.

On today's episode of Empowered in Health, we're diving into one of the deeper mental soundtracks and messages that has been shared over and over and over when it comes to women's health and wellness. This idea that the goal should be to "get your body back" postpartum. Or in perimenopause. Or really in any stage of life.
Here's why I don't love it.
We're not going back. The truth is, we are meant to evolve throughout our lifetime. When we step into motherhood, everything is different. So the idea of the focus on "getting back" to where we were is doing women everywhere a massive disservice. This messaging will hold us hostage forever if we don't keep up the hard work to unpack it and break it down.
As I mention several times - this isn't an easy process. Personally, I'm still doing SO much uncomfortable unlearning and growth through this concept...as I've been absorbing the message for years, like millions of other women.
So today - I want to empower you to step into the 2.0 version of yourself. And beyond. To chase evolution and strength and new and bold action like never before. FORWARD is the best way and the only way to continue to reach our goals from the inside out. I'd love to hear from you - what do you think of this message? Are you tired of hearing "get your body back" too?

On today's episode of Empowered in Health, let's talk BOLD action and when it comes to taking care of ourselves as women - we can't be afraid to go inward and speak up for what we need.
As busy, overwhelmed moms - our wellness can go to the back burner. That's not surprising, given all the things we manage on a day to day basis. That's why learning some of the key factors that help with navigating the communication and action process can make all the difference for our well-being in health and in life overall. Never forget how important filling your cup is. Truly - health and our mental/emotional wellness are absolutely crucial to nurture.
My hope and prayer is that this episode empowers you to reflect, go inward, assess what you may need and start to take bold, scary action into the unknown for yourself. Remember - the navigating unchartered territory is where all the growth and learning happens.

On today's episode of Empowered in Health, we're unpacking stress and how this imperative topic can play a massive role in our day to day wellness.
Often times, we think of health as getting into a better exercise routine or working on our nutritional habits. But are we addressing stress enough and how leaving the mental and emotional weight to wreak havoc in the background can cause all kinds of symptoms and issues? Because the truth is - it can. In addition to creating routines that serve our health from the inside out, we have to ensure we're taking steps to care for our nervous system and address stress.
For me personally - that's come from really taking the time to evaluate habits and asking myself "is this adding to the stress I already feel in my life?" This isn't an easy process - but a necessity for us as busy, overwhelmed moms. Addressing stress is CRUCIAL as we press forward towards our inside out wellness goals.

On today's episode of Empowered in Health, we talk through the overwhelm a mama can feel and a few simple steps to take to get back to a place of feeling rejuvenated from the inside out.
As moms - it's so easy to get completely buried by all the demands around us. Jobs, kids, families, marriages, health - the list goes on. We forget the importance of taking a moment to pause and really digging into the question - "what do I need right now?" Don't be afraid to take that step in your life, as often as you need to. Because in the end - your health, your mental well-being and how you feel inside your day to day life MATTERS, mama.
I hope and pray that this episode empowered you in some way today and leads you on the path to identifying a few more things that can fill your cup.

On today's eposide of Empowered in Health - we're talking about change. GOSH - it's so hard and scary and overwhelming, isn't it? The idea of having no idea what you're doing or where you're going. The idea of starting new after committing so much time and effort and energy to something for years and years.
I know this to be true - we've ALL experienced this at some point in our lives. A time where we've had to make the bold decision to close a chapter and step into the unknown. The fresh. The new. The next season.
That's where I'm at right now. After almost 8 years as a BODi coach, it's time for me to close this chapter and move into the next season of serving in the health and wellness space. While I still have no idea what that looks like, the nudge has been too strong to ignore. While I continue to unpack and discern what this next season looks like for me - I want to ensure I share my deepest gratitude and appreciation for the connections, the community and for all the amazing things I've learned during this season of starting my entrepreneurial journey.
So while YES - change is hard and scary and overwhelming. It's also wildly freeing, exciting and encouraging as we dream up and think forward to new possibilities.

On today's episode of Empowered in Health, I share more of my story around body image, weight gain, weight loss resistance and the struggle I've been experiencing over the past year+. I've gained 20 pounds and for me, as someone who's extremely passionate about health and wellness, that's been an alarming experience for me.
My habits feel the same.
My effort feels the same.
My grit and determination feels the same.
But things aren't the same. At all.
Metabolic Health is SO important when it comes to longevity and thriving throughout our life. In this season of uncomfortable truth...
It's forced me to get real and honest and evaluate my habits on deeper levels. It's forced me to say goodbye to products and supplements I've loved. It's forced me to get educated and link arms with knowledgable practitioners that understand female physiology and can guide me through this life transition.
There have been very few things about this life transition that have felt "easy". But I'm a firm believer that the hard is what helps us most in life. The refining can be one of the most powerful gifts along our growth journey. While it's easy to feel defeated, lost, overwhelmed, discouraged - don't forget, we can always make the choice to lean into the feelings and actions that will serve us (not defeat us even more).
If you're in a season of defeat in your health journey - just know you're not alone. If you've gained weight, you're working to improve habits, if you're tired of putting in the effort and not seeing the results you crave - you're not alone there either. HOWEVER - that's not the energy to sit in, deal? Instead - get CURIOUS. Stay hope filled. And embrace that there are answers! I pray that my story offers you some level of encouragement today.

On today's episode of Empowered in Health, I chat through some of my simple and easy tips for adding more quality protein into your day to day regimen.
Protein is one of the most crucial components when it comes to nutritional habits and fueling our bodies for energy and for life. Protein is one of the key drivers to building muscle mass and maintaining muscle mass. It also helps us feel full for longer, its an important building block for bone health and it plays a major role in helping muscles restore and repair for long-term strength.
Working to get .8-1gram of protein per pound of ideal body weight is the goal. And while it takes time to work your way into macronutrient balance and more, quality protein - with more practice, we can make progress.
Some of my favorite - protein packed snacks are:
Aloha Bars
RX Bars
Beachbars
Archer Jerky
Chomps Jerky

On today's episode of Empowered in Health - let's talk Imposter Syndrome and the little voice in our heads that likes to play games.
I share more about the new business mentorship I've invested in this year and how one of the recent activities really had my mind reeling on whether or not I'm equipped to step into the next version of who I'm called to serve. That little voice can be a BEAST to try and unpack in our brains - especially when it comes to work towards something we're passionate about.
When it comes to the "hard" in life - it's imperative for us to feed our minds with truth, surround ourselves with people and communities that lift us up and stay focused most on the learning and growth process that we all face at some point in time.

On today's episode of Empowered in Health, I dive into more of the personal side to my life and share my heart around the recent passing of my 99 year old grandfather, George.
An incredible man, a fiercely loving grandfather and one of the most generous humans I've ever had the privilege of knowing. When we go through times of loss, no doubt - it's hard. At the same time, it's an opportunity to dig into the vivid reminder that time is finite. And that every minute of every day is a blessing.
My hope and prayer today is that the profound things he taught us help empower you in your life in some way. For this week, for the year and for the future. May we always stay grounded in faith, present in the current moment and focused most on finding ways to cultivate love and joy as often as possible.
Don't forget to tell the people you love how much you love them. I love you Grandpa. And we will miss you dearly.

On today's episode of Empowered in Health, I share more about how I've been working with a macro coach the past 12 weeks. While I've learned A LOT about what my body needs - I've also realized there's a lot I still need to unlearn when it comes to healthy sustainable habits. Especially for my midlife, female physiology.
From hormone health to best foods for gut health to intentional rest and more...it's fascinating how every phase of life can feel like an entirely new level of learning.
While I didn't make much progress throughout the past 12 weeks - at least, not the way I had expected - I still made progress is many other ways that are taking me more time to unpack and understand.
That's the thing about working towards a goal...we always have to look at the growth that DID happen and find the continued opportunity for learning through the process of it all.
This was a powerful reminder for me that growth and progress are not linear. And I want to empower you to embrace that message too! There will be setbacks and unexpected situations we have to manage along the way towards our goals. That's OK. And feeling whatever we need to feel through the process of it all is also absolutely OK.
If you're in a place where you're feeling like things haven't gone to plan, things aren't what you expected or you're working hard at something and the progress hasn't panned out the way you had envisioned...me too, sister. BUT - that doesn't mean we sit. We simply flip the script and choose to move forward, learn, grow and evolve - one day at a time.
Speaking of learning and growing - don't miss our FREE Hormone Health Webinar happening on 1/31 within our SYNC Community. This is a great place to come and learn more about nurturing your female physiology and taking care of your health in the best way possible for your female physiology.

On today's episode of Empowered in Health, I share more around the hard truths in perimenopause and why it's important for us to share and talk more about this season of our female life.
What is perimenopause? When does it happen? How do you know if you're in peri? I share more on that. How does it make you feel? What symptoms might you experience? Are you imagining things or is this real? I share more on that too.
For my personal journey - my mental health became the most debilitating piece to my health puzzle, which is why I've worked hard to dive inward to learn more about our evolving health as women, how perimenopause and hormonal imbalances play a role and what we can do to help ourselves feel our best - even in this season of transition!

On today's episode of Empowered in Health, we dive into the wrap up of 2023 and what to do if things didn't "go to plan" this year. But can we be real too? Almost always - things don't go to plan. The goals we set out to accomplish and the visions we put into place are always a work in progress. The sooner we remember that there's no "final" destination when it comes to growth and evolution in life, the more we can learn and grow every year from the reality of our experiences.
Remember - there's no such thing as FAILURE. Only feedback. So this year - as you reflect on 2023 and think about 2024 - I encourage you to take some time to write things down...what went well, where do you want to improve, what didn't go to plan (at all!) and how do you want to refocus again for the next 365 days? Use all that you've learned as feedback and take it as information to help you formulate where you want to go. I am so proud of you for all that you do. Be proud of yourself too!

On today's episode of Empowered in Health, we go deeper on goals, habits and how our daily actions make a huge difference when it comes to pressing forward.
In my current Precision Nutrition certification, I'm learning a lot about the 5S Method along with the overall goals process. I share more about the "5S's" and how breaking down goals into simple, strategic, bite sized pieces are crucial when setting ourselves up for success.
I give a few examples related to wanting to work on my sleep routine as well as the idea of creating body composition change through eating better. While these are basic, simple examples - the overall concepts of evaluating habits in relation to our goals can be applied to literally everything! From setting simple goals to big, scary, out of the box goals - going deeper on the daily habits and actions that need to align in order to get there is one of the best self-awareness practices we can do.

On today's episode The Momlife Mindset podcast, I share more of my experience with the hair analysis test and some of the additional, root-cause information I've been learning for my health.
Testing is fascinating! No doubt. But at the same time - I'd be lying if I said I haven't had moments of feeling completely exhausted by all the information. It can be a lot - because it is a lot.
After a moment last week when I broke down crying to my husband, I went to bed and woke up refreshed - remembering that I am called to do this work and that all the information I'm learning is going to serve my health, my family and my clients for generations to come.
Women need to know that they aren't alone when it comes to unexplained symptoms. That there is hope and healing and answers. That no matter what - our health and vitality is worth fighting for.
The reason I went in to test was mainly to focus on potential original heavy metals, environmental toxins and mold, but as of now - that's not a major burden on my body.
Instead, I was able to uncover things like amino acid deficiencies, vitamin/mineral deficiencies, interference (EMF's and technology), emotions, immune and gut health imbalances, potential malabsorption and more. All things I'm going to slowly work on and tweak in my regimen.
Our bodies are wildly intricate, fascinating works of art. While YES - there is a lot to learn and understand, every piece of information can give you empowered knowledge towards your unique needs. And that's a GIFT! (even when it's hard!)

On today's episode of The Momlife Mindset Podcast, I dive into analysis paralysis within the female brain and some of the simple steps we can take to get out of indecisive loops.
The truth is - most often we get into feeling paralyzed when we're over consuming and leaving "too much" inside our brain. By taking simple steps to write things down, create lists of how we need to take care of ourselves, setting boundaries with consumption online and with time/energy and highlighting our main objective - we can start to take steps with moving forward.
At the end of the day - overwhelm and staying stuck in indecision is a choice. And quite honestly, a disservice to what we truly deserve when it comes to self-care as women. Don't forget that you deserve the same level of love and care you so freely give to others. My challenge for you is to start stepping into "action mode" faster for yourself. The same way you likely do for your family, your kids and the people you love in your life.
Beautiful lady - you deserve that grace, nurturing and advocacy too! Don't be afraid to take messy action steps...and have grace for the self-awareness and self-growth process. It's not about doing it perfectly...it's about making progress along the way.

On today's episode of The Momlife Mindset Podcast, I dive into cycle syncing and the WHY behind learning more about our infradian rhythm. Personally - I've always tracked my cycles casually to have a pulse on when my period was coming...but NEVER for my health, my life, my fitness, my fueling, my mood, my productivity, creativity, performance and more.
I have been MIND BLOWN by the knowledge I'm learning inside the SYNC Digital Course and from so many knowledgable practitioners in the space (like from the book - In The Flo by Alisa Vitti). I highly recommend her book if you want to dive into some of the beginner information and strategies around cycle syncing.
The reality is...
WOMEN NEED TO KNOW.

On today's episode of The Momlife Mindset podcast, I share more about quality, adequate protein and WHY it matters for us as women. Research shows that starting in our 30's, muscle mass starts to decrease anywhere from 3-8% per decade. The reason this matters? Because more muscle mass = more calorie burn while our body is at rest as it keeps our systems functioning optimally. Plus, the more muscle mass - the more effective our metabolism is, the better our bodies move and the more we maintain our quality of life.
The truth is - women most often are under fueling. ESPECIALLY when it comes to protein. If you're dealing with things like intense sugary cravings, brain fog, anxiety, depression, hunger, low energy, little progress/change from your workouts, brittle nails/hair and weak joints, plus prologned soreness and healing...it's HIGHLY likely that looking at protein intake is crucial inside your day to day regimen. Don't be afraid to fuel your body well. Things like diversifying our nutrition and hitting adequate, quality protein in our days not only set us up for success now - but for the future. Women are susceptible to things like osteoporosis (loss of bone mass) - which can be combatted by things like lifting weights and maintaining muscle mass through fueling with adequate protein. The recommended RDA for protein is 0.8 - 1 gram of protein per lb of ideal body weight. For me personally - that's 150 to 160 grams of protein daily! It's totally possible, but it takes intentionality and learning how to track and add in protein to help you hit your goal for your unique body.
Professionals like Dr. Gabrielle Lyon and Dr. Mark Hyman share so much about inside out health and wellness, functional medicine, women's health, the important of getting adequate protein and so much more. I highly recommend following their work and learning more of their knowledge!

On today's episode of The Momlife Mindset podcast, I dive into some of the big questions to ask yourself when it comes to getting quality sleep. While this seems like a simple, easy thing to focus on - so many of us don't get great sleep. Whether that's because of the stage of life we're in with little kids waking us or we have a hard time falling back to sleep - it's important to remember that working on our sleep can make a massive difference in overall health from the inside out.
If you're working to improve your sleep routine - here are some things to think about:
How late in the day are you consuming caffeine?
How close to bedtime are you consuming your last meal/snack?
What techniques are you using to reduce stress?
And I share a few more things to think about inside the full episode here today.
When it comes down to it, there's no supplement or nutrition strategy or exercise that can replace what true, quality sleep does for our body. While I know sleep is TOUGH with little babies and unpredictable schedules - there are still little things we can work on in our days to help ourselves rest as soundly as possible.

On today's episode of The Momlife Mindset podcast, I share more about inside out health and specifically - what habits, regimen and strategies to lean into as we grow older on our fitness journey. It's easy to get tricked into believing that the "one way" we've been doing things may be the way we have to take care of ourselves forever. But nothing could be further from the truth.
Health and wellness inevitably evolves over time. Our needs change. Our mind and our bodies change. Our goals and our motivations change. That's all OK. If you feel like what was once working is no longer working and you need to find your footing again, me too - my friend! Things like changing up the ways you're lifting, trading out high intensity for low intensity, protecting rest, working on mobility more and leaning into the power of recovery are crucial for our bodies and our minds. I hope that some of the insight I share today provides you with a deeper dive on some things to think about as you continue to take care of yourself from the inside out.

On today's episode of The Momlife Mindset Podcast, I interview Emily Terry, co-owner of Get Organized in Park City, Utah.
Emily is the co-owner of Get Organized, a home & office organizing company that has been serving Park City and beyond since 2017. She loves helping clients, especially moms, go from overwhelmed to overjoyed by setting up functional, maintainable, and beautifully organized systems in their homes and workspace. Emily left a full time career in forensic investigations when she and her husband moved their family to Park City from California in 2016. She loves raising her two boys here, and finds a lot of joy and humor in parenthood. When not consumed with all things boy or business related, you’ll find her attempting to workout, cooking something yummy, planning an adults-only vacation, and entertaining family and friends.
As moms, we carry a massive, invisible load in our day to days. From the home, to work, to motherhood and more - it's amazing how a few simple things, like having systems and getting organized, can make a world of different when it comes to the mental weight. Emily's tips on how to start, where to start and how to diminish the overwhelm through getting organized are incredibly valuable. I have no doubt you'll love this episode as much as I did!

On today's episode of The Momlife Mindset Podcast, I give an overview of some of the incredible knowledge I learned at Just Ingredients "Mental Health Night". Karalynne Call alongside Dr. Josh Redd and Ashleigh DiLello brought so much crucial information to the presentation. From speaking about brain and body inflammation, how our nutrition plays a role in everything from gut health to mental health along with the power of neuroplasticity - I left feeling the need to share more here on the podcast. And hope that some of my key takeaways empower you to dive deeper on your own health for you and your family, as needed.
The reality is - we are living in a society where Mental Health is on the rise. We're in a crisis - where so many are working to figure out how to manage neurological symptoms and issues. But the most eye opening thing about it all? There's A LOT we can do when it comes to lifestyle choices, the products we use, the foods we eat and how we spend our days that can absolutely impact our mental and emotional well-being. Knowledge is power, my friends.
Make sure to give each of these experts a follow:
Karalynne Call - Just Ingredients
Dr. Josh Redd - The Autoimmune Revolution
Ashleigh DiLello - Bio Emotional Healing
And if you're interested - don't miss the most recent podcast between Karalynne and Dr. Josh Redd - where they talk all about brain inflammation and how our kids health is being drastically affected. Tune in to listen: PODCAST EPISODE HERE

On today's episode of The Momlife Mindset Podcast, I dive deeper into 5 big, red flag symptoms that led me into root cause. I've shared quite a bit about how my health and wellness has felt over the past few years. The hardest piece for me has been some of the ongoing symptoms that grew harder and harder to manage. Things like Anxiety, Depression, Fatigue, Weight Gain, Low Libido and Anger/Rage/No Fuse.
As a Mom of 4, a wife and a woman who is incredibly passionate about inside out wellness - I knew diving inward to get more answers and direction was the path I needed to take. It hasn't been an easy road, but the healing and discovery has been worth it. I want women everywhere to know that the symptoms and feelings the may be experiencing in their day to day life are REAL. And there's a strong chance so much of it is interconnected with what's happening inside our bodies on a very deep, scientific, cellular level.
That's why I'm so passionate about spreading more knowledge and education around body literacy, hormone health and understanding our unique female physiology. If you're interested in diving into the SYNC Community and joining our FREE GROUP on Body Literacy and Hormone Health for September - click below: https://jennyswisher.idevaffiliate.com/145-1.html

On today's episode of The Momlife Mindset Podcast, I dive deep into the narrative around women's health. The truth is - the wellness space contains all kinds of information - where a portion of it focuses on things like "quick fixes", "fast tracks" and even misinformation. As a mom of 4 and a woman that simply wants to learn how to take care of her body and brain in the best way possible, the constant conflict in messaging can feel so overwhelming and defeating. WHY does getting to the core of what we need feel impossible sometimes?
Here's a link to last week's episode on body image:
Episode 85: 40, Hormones + Struggling with Body Image
Recently, I've seen more messaging in the wellness space that's missing the mark. If I'm honest, it's toxic. Testimonials about suppressing appetites to the point of not eating and messaging that shares how "this one thing" changed it all for me. WOMEN NEED TO KNOW - nothing beats patience, time, hard work and science. Literally the basics. Diving into root cause and unpacking what's going on inside our bodies - mentally, emotionally and physically. Wellness is ALL the moving pieces.
I think it drives me crazy because "quick fix" messages chip away at mental and emotional well-being for women. The two biggest pieces to the wellness puzzle! Why? Because the inside out shit matters, big time, when it comes to how we feel in our day to day life. We can't forget that in our pursuit to feeling our best.
When it comes to what I value most as a coach and the work I do with my clients, I want women to feel empowered with knowledge so they can advocate for themselves like never before. This isn't to say there's one right way...but this is to say that the wrong narrative continues to creep through and we have to be aware and willing to question. I want women to do what works for them. If you're making decisions for your long term, longevity health based on what feels good, in alignment with your goals/values and truly keeps your mental health protected, by all means - you do you! At the same time, lean into researching and learning and asking questions - remembering that the basics of wellness and potential root cause issues will always serve us best for the long haul.

On today's episode of The Momlife Mindset podcast, I share more about the internal struggle with body image I've had for most of my life. And how lately - it's been cropping up more and more. Body Dysmorphia has been a part of my story throughout different seasons. As I've learned more about hormonal imbalances and the intense mental and emotional weight that can come along with it, I've also uncovered that a positive body image has felt more challenging to maintain. My body has evolved. Taking care of my health has changed. My clothes don't fit the same. And because I haven't been feeling great in my own skin, with low mood, low energy, extreme fatigue and more - it's been feeding into some of the deep rooted insecurities I've carried for a long time.
As always, I share the raw and real to my story because I want women to know they're not alone. We manage so much mentally, emotionally and physically. Our bodies transition through so many different stages and with each one, we have to learn the importance of deep gratitude and grace for how our bodies carry us throughout our day to day life. Tune into more of this episode to hear my heart around some of my personal struggles and WHY digging into root cause to help myself from the inside out has been crucial for growth and healing.

On today's episode of The Momlife Mindset Podcast, I share my top 5 tips and mindset tricks when it comes to carving out time for YOU inside Back to School Season. Let's face it - we're coming out of a time when life is crazy awesome, and crazy chaotic. Summertime is filled with little schedules, lots of downtime, no real routine, dysregulated kids and moms alike...and more. There's A LOT happening.
So self-care during the summer months can look a little different than throughout the school year.
Here's more of what I dive into today...
Scheduling time.
Asking - what can I do to help myself?
Creating WHITE Space.
Doing 1 fun thing a month.
And embracing imperfection.
The biggest thing, Mama? Knowing that time for you and filling your cup are an essential to showing up day in and day out. Even when things don't go to plan, stay committed to making time for yourself - even if it means rescheduling.

On today's episode of The Momlife Mindset podcast, I dive deeper into some of the results I uncovered with my functional practitioner this week. I recently did bloodwork alongside the DUTCH Cycle Mapping Plus Test in an effort to uncover more of the symptoms I've been experiencing.
Symptoms like:
And WOW - did I learn A LOT through this testing and our conversation. Make sure to tune into the full episode to hear all the details.
As women, there's so much to learn about our bodies as we grow older. I've always heard...."well, once you turn 40...this happens, that happens, that's just how it is." But I can't help but question if that's really how it is. Is this REALLY how it's supposed to be? And it's normal and we're supposed to just deal with it? No thanks.
I'm learning - firsthand - through the certification programs I'm doing as a coach as well as through my doctor that these symptoms are common but they're absolutely not normal. They don't HAVE to be the way we live and we don't have to feel the way we do. If something feels "off" in your body and the only information you've received from your doctor is..."your ranges are normal" - but you still don't feel great - it's time to dive deeper and find more resources for support!
If you can relate to what I'm sharing today - please know there are answers for you. And it would be an honor to help you get connected to more information, resources and tools to help you start to put one foot in front of the other with feeling your best from the inside out!

On today's episode of The Momlife Mindset Podcast - I'm ALL over the place, my friends! That's just the truth. I didn't feel called to share a particularly massive takeaway today, but instead share that there is always some message in the mess and sometimes - just learning to have major grace with ourselves as humans is what matters most. Vulnerability and being real - that's where it's at.
As women - especially - we get way too hard on ourselves and start to beat ourselves up/take it personally when we feel mixed emotion around the different roles we play. In our work, as mothers, in our relationships and so much more. Let me be the one to encourage you to remember that feeling ALL the things is okay. That as humans - we don't have to be positive all the time. We can be angry, sad, anxious, overwhelmed and still be positive, happy, loved, worthy, etc. Harder feelings to not cancel out joyous feelings and it's absolutely OKAY (and necessary!) to share them all.

On today's episode of The Momlife Mindset Podcast - I interview Emily Gonzalez. Emily and I have been connected through the wellness space for several years and I am thilled to share more of her story with you.
Emily is a wife and mom of 3 little kids (2 boys and 1 girl). She's from and still lives in Kansas and just had her 3rd baby this spring. She is still adjusting to her 3rd postpartum journey and the transition to a family of 5! Emily's background is in healthcare as an MRI technologist, but she also started her own freelance business 3 years ago from home.
Emily now works as a podcast manager and supports female business owners (primarily moms in the health and wellness space) with the launch, management, and growth of their podcasts. She is passionate about healthy living (loves working out at home and has for years!), podcasts (she's loved them for several years now!), her faith in Jesus and considers herself a lifelong learner.
In our interview, Emily shares her heart around the reality of navigating different transitions throughout motherhood alongside owning a business. She speaks to the importance of open communication and being honest about your needs. She shares more of her best tips and advice on how to ask for help - reminding all of us that our people aren't mind readers and that our capacity does not define our capability. I truly loved our conversation today and hope you feel encouraged through her story.

On today's episode of The Momlife Mindset podcast, I dive into the concept of cycle syncing and more of what I've been learning through the SYNC community and the SYNC digital course. Every single day, I wake up and have more conversations with women. POWERFUL, honest, raw, real conversations with women who are mind blown that they've never learned the depth of this information before.
ME TOO, SISTER.
That's why I continue to share about why learning about our female physiology matters. Because it can lead us toward the path of really moving into empowered decisions for our health. We deserve to have a road map and more data/information on how to best advocate for our needs and that's exactly what SYNC does. We are sharing the knowledge on body literacy and WHY getting connected to the right doctors and doing the right testing matters. We are talking about the value of cycle syncing, while also encouraging women to go deeper for their wellness.
Knowledge is power, my friends. And the more we share - the more we can grow, evolve and learn together. Not only for ourselves as we continue to press towards our long-term health goals, but most importantly for our daughters and many generations to come.

On today's episode of The Momlife Mindset podcast, I share my reality around the let down post-holidays. As a mom of 4 - I always find myself so excited, anxious, nervous, frustrated (all the things!) in anticipation for the days we celebrate...but even more so, feeling all the same feelings - ten fold, once it all ends. I've had to learn over time that big holiday events and time together 99.9% of the time don't go to plan. They never measure up to the dream I romanticize in my head. I've also had to learn that with so much joy and excitement and anticipation comes sadness and exhaustion and frustration. And you know what...that's okay!
We carry a lot as women. And a lot as mothers. And so much of that goes on inside our bodies and our brains, sometimes without us really understanding and unpacking the depth of it all. I've learned over time that I have to prep myself to have some "buffer" when the mental and emotional let down arrives...as it helps me recalibrate as I settle back into day to day life. If you're a feeler like me. You feel all the things for yourself and for others. You enjoy planning. You enjoy hosting. You enjoy bringing people together. I'm sure you know the mental and emotional component that comes with playing that role and I'm sure you've experienced the wave when it's over.
Don't forget that setting realistic expectations, naming how you feel and sharing honestly about what you're experiencing mentally and emotionally is OKAY. Feeling simultaneous feelings of joy, happiness along with exhaustion and sadness is part of being human. Feeling all the things doesn't make you a bad person or a bad mother. It simply makes you human. Don't forget that!

On today's episode of The Momlife Mindset Podcast - I dive deeper into changing the narrative around health and wellness. Especially when it comes to all of us as females. We live in a world where the common narrative is filled with before and afters, quick fixes, drink this, take that, cut this out - and all the results you want will happen. While I won't knock the effort to try and encourage people to get started - I refuse to let women continue to believe that wellness comes fast, easy and never changes for us. Because it does.
I have been learning so much personally - from my gut health journey to my mental health journey and now diving deeper into hormones. As I continue to learn, firsthand, I want to empower women to embrace the learning process too. And above all - TIME. Taking care of our health from the inside out takes time. It takes investing, it takes effort, it takes patience, it's for the long haul. Our long term health isn't something that clicks together overnight. And the most important thing to know? What once was working, may not be working anymore - and that doesn't mean we're broken...it simply means it's time to dive deeper and lean into learning and evolving too!
My two best pieces of advice for women are: Diving into Body Literacy and Getting the Data. As we age and our bodies change, knowing our female physiology matters for long term health. What our hormones are doing, what's happening inside our gut, with blood sugar and so much more - it all matters. And the best way to learn more about what's actually happening? Working with a Functional Med Practitioner on things like appropriate bloodwork, the GI Map, The Dutch Test, etc.

The concept of the 4 Legged Chair is something Jenny explains on a deeper level inside the SYNC digital course. On today's episode of The Momlife Mindset Podcast - I had the honor of interviewing Jenny Swisher. Jenny is a Certified Personal Trainer, Certified Nutritionist, Integrative Health Practitioner and the creator of the SYNC digital course. She is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to women's health and hormone health. The depth of the information she shares in our podcast interview is SO important for every woman to hear.
When it comes to our inside out wellness - learning to pay attention to our cycles and our hormones play a massive role in how we feel as women. The reality is, women are complex beings. We have fluctuating hormones that change drastically month to month. Bringing more awareness to what this means, what's happening inside our bodies and how we can tailor our health efforts to work WITH our hormones (rather than against them) can be the missing piece for many when it comes to truly stepping into our healthiest selves. In our interview, Jenny shares more of her personal story, her ongoing struggles with migraines and her infertility journey. She speaks about the days when she owned a gym, trained men and women and noticed the differences. She shares deeply about the tests in her life that finally brought her to digging deeper on her own health. She knew that learning more about her hormones and the functional side of medicine were imperative if she was going to get answers and identify the potential root cause to her symptoms and health hurdles.
Her own journey sparked a passion that led Jenny to where she is today. An extremely dedicated woman - determined to empower women to step into being the best advocate for their health. Out of her passion stemmed the creation of the SYNC digital course - a step by step guide to learning hormone literacy (everything we NEVER learned in health classes from the good old days), how to work with a functional practitioner and diving into root cause issues/potential hormone imbalances, how to eat and train alongside your monthly cycle and so much more. It has been an honor to connect with Jenny, take her course and get certified as a SYNC certified coach and I can't wait to work alongside her and many others as we continue to bring this knowledge to more and more women.
If you're interested in learning more about SYNC and how to take the course (as we share at the end of the podcast) - I encourage you to take this FREE HORMONE QUIZ and get set-up for receiving more SYNC information: https://jennyswisher.idevaffiliate.com/145-2.html

On today's episode of The Momlife Mindset Podcast, I share about moving from an insecurity mindset to an empowered mindset. And how getting educated about who we are, our unique physiology as women and why our daily choices matter is the first step to doing just that. I am SO SO excited to share that I am now officially a SYNC certified coach. I will be sharing much more about women's health, hormone health and how the strategy from our nutrition choices, to what kind of movement, to rest, to active recovery, to stress management either helps us or hurts us tremendously.
If you're interested in learning more about SYNC, the course and want to opt-in - take this free hormone quiz and start getting educated:
https://jennyswisher.idevaffiliate.com/145-2.html
In addition to my most recent certification - I'm excited to keep diving into more. More education. More learning. More knowledge. And more empowered thinking. Gone are the days of feeling ill-equipped, unsupported and unworthy of finding a way to feel good. Gone are the days of mixed messaging and diet trends and feeling like doing it all is the answer to getting it all. I am on a mission to empower women to learn who they are, how their bodies function and what they can do (daily) to maximize energy and keep their hormones happy. Because as I often say here on the podcast - our wellness is all intertwined.
With all that I've learned and with what I feel called to do as I continue to serve - I am PUMPED to move the coaching side of my business from Triple E Wellness to Empowered Wellness. Starting NOW. On today's episode of The Momlife Mindset Podcast, I take a moment to recap mental health awareness month and dive briefly into my gut health/inside out health journey over the past 2+ years. Long story short - I reached a point where everything I was doing was no longer working. No matter what lifestyle choices I implemented - I didn't feel better. No matter what I ate, what I eliminated, what I focused on - I always felt sick after meals. I have been STUCK in every sense of the word - physically, emotionally, mentally. Finally, I reached a point where I knew I needed more help. More education. More data. More information on my body and how to truly feel good again.
I've been on my gut health journey for a little over a year - most recently working through the Gut Fix with Gut Personal. It has been a TREMENDOUS program where I've made a lot of great progress. I still have my protocol to finish, but I can't recommend GP enough and truly feel like I'm FINALLY on a trajectory of forward progress again on my health journey. I'm an affiliate for GP and if you want to try their products, programs or take their free gut health quiz...feel free to do so by using my code (EKT10) and this link: https://www.gutpersonal.com/pages/gutpersonal-partner
The next step for me is diving deeper into hormone health, women's health education and getting certified as a SYNC certified coach. I'm learning so much about women's physiology, targeting our effort intentionally (with fitness and nutrition) to link up with what our unique body does every month and WHY paying attention to our hormone health matters for our overall wellness.
I can't say it enough - health is intertwined. Our gut health, our mental health, our hormone health - it all plays a role in how we feel. And learning to talk more, share more and get educated so we can advocate for our health needs is imperative to all of us as mamas and women.
As mentioned - to stay looped in on all the information I'll be sharing about my certification, group opportunities and the chance to dive deeper to learn how to advocate for your own health - Subscribe Here: https://view.flodesk.com/pages/646edaa9644615ff2d1adc34

On today's episode of The Momlife Mindset podcast, I interview Allie Darr. Allie is someone I've followed and connected with over the past few years and have huge respect for. Her raw, honest, real approach to motherhood, to sharing her life and to diving deep on the important topic of mental health is so relatable. I feel honored to share her story with you today.
My favorite quote from this episode is when Allie says..."Just SHARE the mess!" We all have some level of adversity we manage. It's always comforting to know that others are also working through their own hardship and mess. It truly helps us feel less alone and that's exactly what Allie's story does for the motherhood community today.
Allie is married to Jordan, Mom of 6 and they live in Tennessee. In our interview today, she talks about her personal story with mental health along her motherhood journey. From overwhelming anxiety, to advocating diligently for her needs, to best doctor advice, ways to find support and more - her tangible tips are incredibly helpful! She also dives deep on her mother's journey with mental health and her passion for normalizing the conversation around the hard in life. The grief she has experienced from miscarriages to suicide that have turned into an incredible story of healing is beyond inspiring. And I know her words will touch your heart today because her perspective is so honest, so refreshing and paints the picture of hope...even through the heavy and the mess.
If you or someone you know is suffering in silence and is in need of more support - please call 988 (Suicide + Crisis Hotline). Help is available.

On today's episode of The Momlife Mindset Podcast, I interview Bethany Swart. I am so humbled and honored to bring her story and her words to you today. Her perspective on motherhood, her relationship with God and her commitment to digging into habits that serve herself, her family and others are incredibly inspiring.
Bethany was born and raised in Iowa. She now lives in Eastern Wisconsin with her husband Tim of almost 15 years and their four kiddos. She was an elementary school teacher turned stay-at-home mom and now enjoys homeschooling her 4 kids! Bethany enjoys the outdoors, traveling, and cheering on other women to pursue God's best for them both physically and spiritually!
In our discussion, Bethany shares about the depth of motherhood and how scared she felt during her postpartum journey after her 4th baby. She started to dip into feelings of intense postpartum anxiety and dark, irrational thoughts that she had never experienced before. She felt confused, lost and buried by how to manage it all. She shares about how learning to find stillness was key for her. And how she was able to find a way to make time outside, at night, in the winter - to finally get still enough to hear God and lean into the hope and peace that she knew he would inevitably provide. She also shares her heart around one of the most powerful bible studies she's ever done on how changing perspective can help us refocus on HIS word. I have no doubt her transparency, vulnerability and encouragement will offer peace and hope to your mama heart today.
Tune in to hear her full story and some of her best advice for the woman that feels anxious, lost and wants to find a way to lean into stillness as she works to hear God more in her day to day life.

On today's episode of The Momlife Mindset Podcast, I have the privilege of interviewing Kaitlyn Vander Schaaf. Kaitlyn and I connected as wellness coaches and she has been someone I've admired for years. From her incredible faith to her passion for serving other women in the health space, I am honored to share her story with you today and pray that it gives you a glimpse into why staying grounded in faith and habits matter in our day to day lives as mamas.
Kaitlyn was born and raised in NW Iowa, and now lives with her high school sweetheart (Dan) and 2 children (Avery and Charlie) in the Twin Cities. She was a CPA in international tax for 9 years before God laid it on her heart to stay at home with her kids and continue to build her coaching business. For over 5 years she has helped her clients with fitness, nutrition, and provide a community with a faith-based focus.
She shares how - growing up - she never really struggled with body image or weight. But in college, the struggle began. It just so happens, the struggle with her spiritual life began in college too. On the outside, Kaitlyn was achieving everything and had everything, but inwardly was spiraling. That continued on through her 20's. The appearance of having everything... the "dream life" - the international tax job as a CPA, the big house on a cul de sac, the money, married to her high school sweetheart, traveling the world on the company's dime.
But inside, she was a perfectionist with OCD tendencies that never felt satisfied, that was in constant fear of failure. She drank, ate, and watched reality TV to numb the overwhelming pressure to never let a ball drop and keep up appearances. She no longer attended church. Once she had her first, my daughter at the age of 28, the added load of motherhood broke me. And the numbing continued...
Tune in to hear her full story and some of her best advice for the woman that feels a little lost, a lot overwhelmed, wants to lean into better habits and develop an unwavering faith as she continues along her healthy living journey.

On today's episode of The Momlife Mindset Podcast, I share a few of the harder, bigger lessons I've learned on my personal mental health journey. I believe that mental health is health. It's truly the most pivotal thing we can talk about and nurture on our health journey because without mental health, healthy doesn't exist.
I've had some darker days along my journey - especially as I've transitioned into motherhood. I've learned the hard way that habits, lifestyle choices, boundaries and ownership matter if we want to nurture our mental well-being. That showing up for the rest of the world, but falling apart at home isn't okay and it isn't healthy. That talking about mental health and the reality of it doesn't mean it's too dark or too serious or too negative or too deep. It means we're normalizing that mental health and emotional turmoil are a REAL part of life...and sharing our truth, going deep on our stories and talking more about our experience allows all of us to feel less alone.

On today's episode of The Momlife Mindset Podcast - let's talk MAY and Mental Health Awareness Month! Every year, I've been doing a give-back campaign to different mental health organizations in an effort to bring awareness to this topic and spread the word about the importance of normalizing discussion and breaking the stigma.
This year - I will be doing a give-back on Bonfire.com (campaign link coming soon!) with all proceeds going back to Mental Health America. I encourage you to research the theme that MHA is promoting this year - "Look Around, Look Within". I will be cross-sharing their important tips, tricks, information and ways to get involved. They're also partnering up with LL Bean to promote 500,000 hours of OUTSIDE time! Why? Because getting outside is SO GOOD for our mental health. Participants are encouraged to go outdoors and log hours of fresh air. You can learn more about the challenge here: https://mhanational.org/llbean.
In addition to the information above - another important discussion I want to bring to your attention is listed below:
For Maternal Mental Health Week (May 1-5) Gemma is going LIVE on Instagram with @shannonrwatts and @poojalakshmin on May 5th at 10:00 am ET.
Shannon Watts is the Founder of Moms Demand Action and they will be discussing maternal mental health in America and how to take care of yourself when the world is too much. I shared more of my heart a few weeks ago about the senseless violence in our country and how it all feels like too much. This will be a GREAT mental health conversation to tune into for more perspective and powerful thoughts.
Throughout the month of May - I will be sharing as much as I can from my personal experience, but also other important conversations, articles and information being shared all over the map. as we As a mom of 4 and woman who has managed my own level of mental health struggles in my life - I want to be a voice that shares "it's okay to not be okay" and it's OKAY to reach out for help, support and resources to help you. The more we share our stories and talk about the things we manage mentally and emotionally - the more we normalize the big, deep feelings we have as humans. Please know you are never alone.

On today's episode of The Momlife Mindset Podcast - I share a simple message that I hope encourages your heart. If you feel like a mess. If you feel like you're falling short. If you feel like life seems to never slow down and you can't catch your bearings. If you feel like it's never enough or it never measures up - know you're not alone. You're not the only one! And I know...for a FACT...that you're absolutely doing your best, day in and day out.
Do me a favor will you? Share this message of encouragement with a mom friend or someone you love. Let them know you see them, you appreciate them and you care deeply for them. Let them know that you KNOW they're doing their best and that their best effort is always enough (even when it looks different every day).

On today's episode of The Momlife Mindset Podcast - let's talk confirmation bias. And the idea that whatever belief we have the most or whatever we tell ourselves the most - the brain will actually go out and find the evidence to confirm the belief. This is an incredibly interesting concept - especially as women and mothers. What we tell ourselves matters. And learning to change the soundtracks inside our brain matters.
I share how I've had many seasons where I've felt like "I'm not enough". Feeling overwhelmed and helpless and hopeless. Feeling outrageously high, unrealistic expectations of myself and others and in turn - feeling some level of disappointment often. Feeling like I'm different - like I'm the only one - like I have a hard time connecting to others because of how I feel so deeply. And with that - my brain consumes the world in ways that starts to support these thoughts and beliefs. It has been a hard mental battle for me for most of my life, but I've learned that awareness is key because it's what allows us to identify the thoughts that aren't real. Yes - our brain is that powerful! And it can create stories that aren't a depiction of the truth.
That's one of the most powerful things we can do as we continue to work through our mindset and mental health - learning to ask ourselves "is this thought real?" and "is this thought serving me?" It's a process...but a mindful one that's worth it so we can continue to train our brain to look for the good, see the good, feel the good and tell us the good day in and day out.

On today's episode of The Momlife Mindset Podcast, I'm going deep. I don't have much encouragement or magical words or a huge takeaway to offer this week - but I know showing up and going through the uncomfortable is the only way. As a Mom of 4, I'm scared shitless for our country. I'm tired. I'm overwhelmed. I'm emotional. I feel hopeless and helpless. Tragedy after tragedy, so much trauma, school shootings that aren't stopping - it feels insurmountable to try and create change. Where do I even start? What can I do - as one mom? How do I make sense of getting involved when I struggle enough trying to hold it together for our family of 6?
But even amidst the mental and emotional turmoil I feel, I know that THRU is the way. And it's the only way we're going to continue to create change together. The resources I've been looking at most are Moms Demand Action and Everytown. I strongly encourage you to get connected to their work too.
My heart is with you, Mama. I know this feels heavy and hard. My heart is broken for so many reasons. For our kids, our families, our teachers, our schools, our communities, our country. THRU is the only way. I know you're tired. I know it all feels like too much...but together, we can work together to take more and more essential steps towards change.

On today's episode of The Momlife Mindset Podcast, I'm sharing about women, moms and how above all else - we truly need community in our life. Relationships, friendships and women to lean on that allow us space to be real. To be vulnerable, honest and share about the truth they're living.
One of the most powerful things we can do for a mama friend is provide her with a place that helps her feel seen. No - we don't all walk the same path. No - we don't all experience the same things or view life the exact same way. And no - our struggles will not be identical. But they're all still valid. They're all still real and any level of adversity or struggle deserves attention and support as we work through it.
Moms need community more than anything for two reasons - 1. Because everything changes when we transition into Motherhood. Life as we know it will never be the same. That brings on an entirely new level of growth and learning - not only how to be a mother to our babies, but also how to grow into our new identity. 2. We live in a society that needs a lot of work when it comes to supporting mothers. From pregnancy to postpartum to working mama to stay at home mama and everything in between - the resources and support networks need a lot of improvement. Filling the gaps falls into the laps of our immediate communities and the women we surround ourselves with every day.
Please know if you ever feel like you haven't found a community of support to lean into - I want to hear your story and connect more. On today's episode of The Momlife Mindset Podcast - I share my feedback on some of the most common thoughts I hear from women I work with...
I don't have the time.
I don't have the energy.
It's just too expensive to invest.
I'm incredibly passionate about the work I do as a coach because the community I've built and the system I empower women to implement addresses these three pain points. Less Time. Less Energy. And Cost Effective. I know these are the things that are INCREDIBLY important to women and I know they can often become the hurdle and the excuse to never starting if we don't have someone to guide us as we take action.
It would be an absolute joy to support you on your journey - from every aspect of wellness. As I share in this episode - the most important aspect to our investment should be ensuring we're putting our time, energy and dollars towards solutions that help us work on multiple aspects to health (fitness, nutrition, mental/emotional well-being, community building and more!)
My Q2 Wellness Studio is officially open for enrollment - and I would love to connect, hear your story, answer your questions and chat more about how we can work together if it's of interest to you. On today's episode of The Momlife Mindset Podcast - I'm sharing my experience and perspective around parenting a child with neurodiversity. I will preface this by saying that parenting is one of the hardest jobs of all time. It's a tremendous challenge for all of us. An incredible blessing that comes with incredible adversity and learning and trying things. It is MESSY. And imperfect. But I wouldn't trade it for the world. I know you wouldn't either.
In our household, we've learned that having a neurodiverse child heightens the stressors. It all feels a little more intense, harder to manage and seems to last forever and ever - with the seasons changing as slow as molasses. It's a different kind of hard and I want all parents, including parents of kids with neurodiversity, to know that you're doing incredible work learning alongside your children.
I share more about ruminating loops, connecting with other people, rigidity and meltdowns. Why these things have felt harder in our household and a few of the things we've learned to help manage the behavior within our family dynamics. It's a never-ending journey of learning and I want you to know you're never alone. Our family is learning right alongside you, Mama. Never forget that.

On today's episode of The Momlife Mindset Podcast - I dive into the HARD of advocating for our health needs. The truth is, trying to find support, learning what we each need as individuals and finding the resources to help is a JOURNEY. It's a process and it can be incredibly exhausting, defeating, lonely, mentally taxing and more. I want you to know that if you're on the path to advocating for health needs (for yourself, your family or your kids) - you are not alone! None of us are ever alone. Please never forget that.
This is one of the biggest things in the mental health space that breaks my heart. It's ALREADY vulnerable and emotional to get to the place of asking for more support. But THEN - to have the process of finding support feel mentally and emotionally exhausting...it just makes it all harder. And I believe there is NO reason for it to be this way or feel this way for people. We can do better and it all starts with talking more, sharing more and normalizing the importance of having inside out health resources readily available in our society.

On today’s episode of The Momlife Mindset podcast - I’m sharing my heart around staying present and how to cultivate a mindset that finds joy in where you are - right now. As I’m on vacation this week, I’m vividly reminded of how important it is to really live in the moment. That’s not always easy to do as a mom that carries the heavy mental load. Lean into these 3 things - taking care of yourself, unplugging and loving your people - and remember that what you have now, is something you once prayed for. ♥️

On today's episode of The Momlife Mindset Podcast, I'm talking all about learning to love the life we're leading - now.
Nothing in life puts things into perspective quite like tragedy, loss and deep uncertainty. It's been an interesting week in the world with some heavier news surrounding these topics. And when this happens - it always pushes me into this incredibly reflective headspace of learning to live...right now. But most importantly, to LOVE the life you're living right now.
Sometimes, in our motherhood journey especially, we can hit really hard seasons. Mentally. Emotionally. Physically. It's imperative to feel it all and give ourselves the grace and space to grow through it. It's also imperative to know it's OK to not necessarily love every single minute, especially in the seasons that feel impossibly hard. But at the end of the day - choosing to lean into the lessons, learning through the growth opportunities and finding a way to love where we are, who we are and the life we're leading, right now - is such an incredibly important mindset to embrace.
If you find yourself really struggling to manage the mental and emotional weight - reach out to me anytime for more guidance, support and information about the work I do as a coach. I'm here to be a resource for women who need more guidance on how to find the resources they're looking for to help them feel their best from the inside out.

On today's episode of The Momlife Mindset Podcast, I'm sharing two simple words that can truly encourage a mom friend. Inside the motherhood community, we can be quick to compare and in turn, feel like we're somehow doing something wrong, messing it up or missing the mark. But I want to encourage all of us to remember that we're on our own journey when it comes to parenting - just like everything else. Our job is to lift one another up through pausing to listen and offering validation - through the good times and the hard times.
Take a moment today (or whenever you listen to this message) and reach out to a mom friend. Tell her she's doing great work and you want to know how you can support her. Make an effort to pause and listen to her heart and when you see the parallels between her journey and yours, share with her - "me too, sister." At the end of the day, validation and compassion are two of the most powerful things we can feel as mothers.
On today's episode of The Momlife Mindset Podcast - I share my heart around feeling ill equipped. Does this happen in your motherhood journey? Where you question things? Don't know if you're on the right path or making the best decisions? When you overanalyze your skills or your parenting style or the values you're teaching and you start to wonder "am I just messing all of this up"? I've been there too. OFTEN.
This year - I'm diving into writing a book and share about how ill equipped I feel/felt joining in with the COMPEL training community. COMPEL is a writers membership created by Lysa Terkeurst of Proverbs31Ministries. She is an INCREDIBLE writer with admirable faith. The thought of joining in with a Christian community to learn more about writing alongside growing my spiritual faith...? Needless to say - I have felt under qualified.
But I'm learning to pause and let HIM stand in the gap. Remembering that I'm only human. We're human. And as women and mothers - we don't need to have all the answers or know exactly what to do or where we're going. We simply have to remember that who we are and what we were created to do is more than enough - and in any ways we feel like "we may fall short" - it's our job to have faith that the support we need will be revealed.

On today's episode of The Momlife Mindset Podcast - I'm sharing more about women's health and the 3 most important things that matter. In an industry that shares so much information and lots of different perspectives, strategies and resources - I want you to know that above all else, these are the things that matters most when taking care of yourself...
Doing MORE is not the answer.
Food and nutrition truly matter in big, deep ways.
You have to nurture your mental and emotional tank.
No matter what you're doing when it comes to your day to day regimen, these 3 things are KING. They are the lifeblood to creating sustainable change and progress because all 3 things matter that much! It's time to throw away any old school narratives and remember that taking care of ourselves as women includes every aspect of the puzzle. Please know that I'm always a quick message away if you're looking for more accountability, easy to implement tools and sustainable solutions that can help you reach your goals, feel great and above all - empower you and your health from the inside out!

On today's episode of The Momlife Mindset Podcast, we're talking the power of a fresh start! A clean slate. A chance to start again. I share a little more about what I've been doing to start again as we kick off 2023 and I want to encourage you to do some evaluation in your own life as well. Sometimes, our minds can convince us that idea of taking a new route or doing things a new way is "starting over". And that somehow - we'll lose all that we've already created. But nothing could be further from the truth...
When you start again - you're starting from a different version of you. In a new season. With new thoughts and new ideas and a different perspective. There's a lot of exciting and invigorating energy that comes from that headspace. Don't be afraid to evaluate where you may want to wipe the slate clean. And lean into the lessons and growth that will come - mentally and emotionally - from the unpredictability.
It just may be the boost of excitement you need to propel you towards your goals and so much more this year!

On today's episode of The Momlife Mindset Podcast - I'm sharing more about the "after feeling" and how making decisions based on pausing and remember how we feel AFTER we make choices can be an incredible mindset shift.
With 2023 off to the races - I've found myself working hard on shifting habits and evaluating how different choices make me feel in my body and my brain. So often, we can get caught in the "NOW" feelings - overwhelm, anxiety, information overload, paralyzed and not sure how to put one foot in front of the other. Or sometimes we get caught in the instant gratification/immediate satisfaction mindset and don't take the time to really think about how choices will affect us. It can leave us completely stuck in our thoughts and our circumstances.
My challenge for all of us is to PAUSE a little more and think a little harder on how the choices we make NOW will ultimately make us feel in the future...
How we're fueling our body and our food choices.
How we show up to move our body and how that affects our brain.
How we choose to show up online, add value, consume, connect with others.
How we prioritize intentional relationships over brainless activities.
And so much more...
In the end - it's so important to remember that we have the power! We can change our mindset and dig harder into remembering what makes us feel great and what feeds our insecurity and our down moments. Knowledge is POWER. Don't be afraid to take messy action and take note of the choices that really help you feel your best.

It's the FIRST episode of 2023 - yahoo! And this one is all about reflecting back on last week's message and what it means to work, live and serve in a way that "feels good". On today's episode of The Momlife Mindset podcast, I dive deeper on alignment vs. our comfort zone. Pushing all of us to think harder on our goals, dreams and vision for the new year...
All with these powerful, reflective questions in mind...
"Does this work feel good because it's aligned with who I am and what I want to do?" OR "Does this work feel good because it's easy, brainless and comfortable?" There's a BIG difference and one that I think we all need to evaluate as we push towards how we want to show up this year - for ourselves and others.
The reality is - working in alignment feels good because it keeps our soul happy. It keep us grounded in the place that truly "feels" like us and allows us the opportunity to dream up what we want to do while staying authentic to who we are. But that doesn't mean we won't encounter major adversity, challenges and opportunities for new learning. Working and living in alignment is a beautiful place to be, but it's not easy.
Which path do you want to take this year!? In what ways can you get uncomfortable so you can show up, serve and live in a way that feels truly authentic to who you are and what you want?!

On today's episode of The Momlife Mindset Podcast, I'm sharing about the 3 big lessons I've learned from taking a break from social media and really focusing on unplugging this holiday season. I've been doing this the past few years and every year, the lessons get bigger and the feelings go deeper. The truth is - social media and having the opportunity to connect in ways we never have is a gift. I know that I never would have met many of the people I know today without it. However, creating boundaries and understanding the mental and emotional ramifications to consuming online are HUGE for our overall health and well-being. We have to stay aware.
Tune in to today's podcast to hear more of the 3 big lessons I've learned and how they've been eye opening, uncomfortable and tremendously powerful. It's been so good for my overall health and well-being, I'm still working on my forward plan with continuing to give and serve online. TBD on where I land and what that looks like. But if I've learned anything - it's the importance of truly LISTENING to what you need from the (inside) out and allowing yourself the time and space to figure it out in whatever way works for you.

On today's episode of The Momlife Mindset podcast, I share my heart around the importance of sharing kindness and encouragement with other people. I've been reflecting hard over the past day about the recent death of Stephen tWitch Boss who died by suicide. While I'm not diving into that specific topic on this episode, the sadness and devastation I feel spurred me into sharing more about some important ways to tell others how much they mean to us. Super simple things can make a huge difference in the lives of others. We all need to do better about remembering that.
I hope that you'll tune in and listen to my list of 10 ideas. Then - my challenge to you is to write them down and work to practice them more often than you do now. Maybe you choose 1 thing to practice the most and commit to doing it a certain amount of time, with a certain number of people every month. Whatever it is - I think we all need to remember the most important message of all...EVERYONE needs to hear that they matter - as often as possible. I truly believe we never can hear it enough.

On today's episode of The Momlife Mindset Podcast - I share my heart around how you're still YOU, Mama. With all the life happening around us - from transitions to seasons to endless needs - it can be incredibly easy to lose sight of who we are and what we need as individuals. Let this be your reminder - YOU are still you - as a strong, beautiful woman from the inside out. Don't ever forget that.
I'd love to know - do you find that you've lost yourself a bit in motherhood and in life? Do you sometimes feel like "who am I?" anymore? I want you to know that you're NOT the only one and we all go through this level of questioning and confusion as we grow further into our motherhood journey. Please know that the best gift you can give yourself is QUIET. And intentional time to really reflect and zone into what you need to feel like yourself. Is that a passion project? Is it a hobby or a creative outlet? Is it deeper connection with certain groups of people or more time alone? Whatever it is - give yourself the time to dig deep and find what lights you up - just for you.

On today's episode of The Momlife Mindset podcast - I share about the importance of staying grounded in gratitude and why appreciation matters so so much in our day to day lives. I've learned the hard way what can happen when you're overly focused on the future or stuck in beating yourself up about the past. It's not a fun and/or energizing place to be in mentally, emotionally, physically or spiritually.
When we focus on gratitude and appreciation - what we already have becomes enough. What we're doing can be celebrated. The life we have - today - can become the thing we think about most. When we remember how RICH we are because of the family and friends in our life, because of the time we've been given and because of our health - the added stress of the uncontrollable can slowly start to melt away. Life will always be filled with ups and downs, unpredictable hardship, loss and adversity - no doubt. But finding a way to stay grounded in the blessings we DO have is one of the fastest ways to maintain a sense of calm and peace.
TODAY AND EVERY DAY -
BE THANKFUL.
REMEMBER JUST HOW RICH YOU ARE.
YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS
ARE PRICELESS,
YOUR TIME IS GOLD
AND YOUR HEALTH IS WEALTH
During this Thanksgiving week, I'm wishing you the gift of enjoying intentional time. Soaking in the littlest things and working to practice gratitude as often as possible.

On today's episode of The Momlife Mindset Podcast, I share more about the newest launch coming to my mindset shop AND the deep, reflective place I've been sitting in as I approach my 40th birthday. I can't pinpoint exactly what it is - but I am becoming vividly aware of how fast life is moving, how I'm growing older and our kids are growing up. It's this weird place to realize that you're on the brink of some massive family transitions alongside a big birthday milestone.
That's one of the reasons I wanted to focus on PRESENCE with this year's Merry Mama launch at the shop. Being present, spending time with family and friends, making an effort to really soak in every teeny, tiny thing. That's my goal this year - more than ever before. To cut out even more distraction. To cut out even more screen time. To get into writing more and diving into the vision I have for my book and loving on my family every second I can get. It won't always be pretty and it definitely won't be perfect, but I know that the opportunity I have - right now - to enjoy this season - is the ONLY time in my life where it will be this way. As with everything - it will come and go. Time will keep moving and things will change.
My encouragement to you is to go deep and reflect. Ask yourself what you want most this holiday season and if presence and intentionality are two of your big goals (like mine) - what steps are you taking to minimize distraction and lean into the habits that will offer that energy most often?! It's a process - but one that's well worth it.

On today's episode of The Momlife Mindset podcast, I share all about "adding value" and what to do when we wake up and feel like we have no value to add to the world. I'm feeling that this week and almost didn't even share a podcast. However, I knew that simply saying the words "I don't know how to add value" would add value, encouragement and light into someone's life. Because WE ALL experience those kinds of feelings!
As humans, we overcomplicate it sometimes. Really - when it comes to connection and growth, transparency and just being open and honest are the name of the game. That's how we normalize. That's how we break down walls. By simply saying exactly how we feel!
I absolutely have days, weeks, seasons where I feel "off". Where I feel like the effort I put in doesn't matter. Maybe you can relate to that? In those times - we have to remember two things: 1. We don't have to always be ON and adding value everywhere around us. It's OK to slow down, sink into yourself and just work to add value and joy into your own life. That is ABSOLUTELY an important part to the self-care and inside out health process. Give yourself permission to just exist and pay attention. It can be an incredibly powerful growth tool. 2. Remember that we're all uniquely made - exactly as we are. That in and of itself is a miracle and a gift! Who we are and what we do is more than enough - not something we to prove through constant value add.

On today's episode of The Momlife Mindset podcast, I share more about the window of tolerance and how it plays a massive role in learning more about our stress levels, boundaries and how we are "triggered" in our day to day life. We all have triggers. It's inevitable as a human. Pair that with motherhood and the responsibility of taking care of a household and it becomes more and more important to dig into self-awareness when it comes to our mental and emotional well-being.
Hyper-arousal is the state when we're feeling anxious, overwhelmed, angry, about to explode, etc. Hypo-arousal is when we're tired, numb, emotionally checked out, mentally burned out, etc. The most interesting component about the window is that stress and trauma causes our window to shrink, which means our tolerance to stay in our grounded, calm, peaceful state is harder to manage.
Above all - I want you to know you're not alone when it comes to unpacking and learning more about the mental and emotional component to our health. Learning about the window is a HUGE visual piece to knowing our needs and working to implement the boundaries, habits and coping skills that work for us as individuals. My encouragement to you is - don't be afraid to dig in. We are ALL imperfect beings, just learning to do our best, who are triggered into different emotional states for all kinds of reasons. The more aware you become, the more you can valuable skills that will help you stay inside your window as often as possible throughout day to day life.

On today's episode of The Momlife Mindset podcast - I share more about the book I just finished, The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry by John Mark Comer. I HIGHLY recommend this book if you're looking to build your spiritual strength and want to dive deeper on boundaries, mental and emotional well-being and evaluating the specific values that matter most to you in your life.
The reality is - we live in a more more more, what's next, what else can I commit to world. It seems like no matter what we do - there's always MORE that we "feel" like we need to or should be doing. I want you to know that we don't have to live that way. Every day, I'm working harder to stay grounded in that truth. Please know that working to create mental and emotional boundaries in our life is a process. It takes time, lots of practice and learning to adjust as needed. You are NOT alone when it comes to finding the best balance of it all - but above all else, know that you can absolutely choose how you want to show up day in and day out.

On today's episode of The Momlife Mindset Podcast, I share my heart around strength. Believe it - sister, we are strong - right now! Today. I've been thinking a lot lately about health and wellness. About society conditioning. About the outrageous, inside out expectations, on women and mothers. The reality is, I am 100% a product of society conditioning. Maybe you can relate to that? Maybe you've also struggled with self-image, self-worth, you need to pick apart your body in the mirror and so much more.
As women - we have been conditioned in so many ways to believe that what we're doing isn't enough.
I've been a health and wellness coach for a little over 6 years - and I've learned so much about myself along the way. One of the biggest things is my conditioning and how I need to continue to shift my mental and emotional focus to the strength I have - TODAY. Not 4 years ago before my other babies, not one day once I get to "xyz", not based on what society tells me or shows me to do. NOW. Today.
I want to encourage you to do the same, my friend. You are an amazing woman and mama - just as you are. The things that once were are the things that have gifted you the strength you have now. Remember - the only reason to ever look behind you is to remind yourself how far you've come. Keep doing the work to break down the conditioning, practice self-love and give yourself the gift of reassurance that YES - you are more than enough and beautiful enough and STRONG beyond belief...right now.

It's truly a great opportunity to get together in community, move our bodies, practice gratitude and connect on inside out health. I love that this event brings women, families and communities together to give back to the greater good.
This year - all proceeds from the event will be donated back to NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness).
And all information on how to join and register is listed HERE on my website (www.erintrier.com).
If you have any questions about how to join or how to be a part of this amazing give back initiative, please don't hesitate to reach out anytime. On today's episode of The Momlife Mindset podcast - I had the pleasure of interviewing Lindsey Konchar.
Lindsey is a licensed graduate social worker, author of I Got 99 Coping Skills and Being a B*tch Ain't One, and owner of copingwithlindsey.com. She has a two-year-old daughter and a baby boy on the way! When she became a mom, the transition was a challenge, to say the least. Lindsey experienced the trifecta of mental aliments: PPD, PPA, and postpartum rage. Needless to say, she was a BITCH and when her daughter was 9-months-old, she unshelved the book that had been on my heart. It was published June, 2022.
After experiencing a rough transition into motherhood, Lindsey has decided to take control of her life by prioritizing her needs and integrating her daughter into her life. Now, she's on a mission to help other mamas do the same.

On today's episode of The Momlife Mindset podcast, I share about some recent hurdles we've had to manage in our household. Long story short - we've had A LOT of unexpected circumstances pop up in our life this year and almost all of it has been out of our control. That can be hard to swallow - right? And it can become so overwhelming and triggering and just plain brutal. Please tell me I'm not alone!
With that said - I found myself really working hard to take a pause in my overwhelm and thought this topic may be helpful for you too. After digging in to more of the unexpected we've been managing, I started to draw the parallel of how powerful this life skill truly is. Learning to PAUSE and put a hard stop on any action, reaction or forward movement is a gift that takes practice. A lot of practice. And it's not perfect. But it allows us to really gain clarity and remember that we have the control over how we want to show up for ourselves and others.

On today's episode of The Momlife Mindset podcast, I share a little more about a conversation I had recently with a friend. We talked about overwhelm and having the will/strength to face the day. We talked about how sometimes, no matter what we do or no matter how hard we try, it always feels "off" - like we can never win or never give enough or never truly fulfill the needs of ourselves, our families and the day to day demands.
I related HARD to her feelings. And I know mothers everywhere can 100% understand the adversity I share in this episode. Motherhood is HARD freaking work. It's the greatest gift, the biggest blessing and the most fulfilling work, while at the same time being the hardest, most demanding, draining, exhausting, defeating work as we grow and learn along the way.
I share some of my top tips to think about when it comes to really feeling the overwhelm. The importance of the PAUSE and the importance of pulling yourself outside of your own head to really look at the day from a birds eye view. At the end of the day - getting out of our own way and really digging inward on what we're saying to ourselves/what our mind is telling us, is some of the most powerful personal work we can do for our overall health.

On today's episode of The Momlife Mindset podcast, I interview my husband Dave! Two weeks ago, Dave accomplished a massive, personal goal of completing a full marathon before his 40th birthday. He chose Santa Rosa, CA so we could enjoy a few days of adult life and relaxation post-race in Napa Valley. It was an AMAZING trip and the reboot we both needed for ourselves and our marriage.
During our interview, I ask Dave a lot about how taking care of himself and his health. I ask him WHY wellness matters in his day to day and how he feels when it comes to how taking care of our individual needs ultimately affect our marriage. We've learned A LOT as individuals, a married couple and as parents about how prioritizing health makes all the difference when it comes to managing our day to day life. With all the needs of our children on top of making the time for one another - it's not always easy to do so when "life" happens. Every day - little by little - we are working on it and ultimately, our goal is to show our kiddos that prioritizing your health doesn't need to be the thing that gets pushed to the back burner. And that above all else - taking care of YOU is actually the catalyst to showing up for your life the way you truly want to and deserve to.
I would be honored if you shared this episode with others in your network. I'd also love to hear from you too and connect further on our stories. If you found this episode valuable, please leave a review, comment below and/or send me a message anytime so we can continue the conversation.

On today's episode of The Momlife Mindset Podcast, I share my heart around prioritizing marriage and how amazing our trip was that Dave and I just took to Santa Rosa, California. Dave has been training for his first full marathon since April. During the past 4 months, we have endured an intense amount of adversity personally. Things you simply can't predict. All super uncontrollable. From health concerns, to mold remediation, unexpected house costs, cars breaking down, a kitchen renovation and more - it's been a wild few months managing day to day life while making the time to reach our personal goals.
This trip was EXACTLY what we needed as individuals. But even more so, it was EXACTLY what we needed for our marriage. Making the time for our relationship (intentionally) has felt nearly impossible this year and over the weekend, we were reminded how important it is to travel outside the normal day to day grind. We spent 5 days around Santa Rosa, Sonoma and Napa Valley together - eating delicious food, drinking amazing wine and simply enjoying the quiet time with one another. Something we've drastically underestimated as an essential in our relationship.
I'll be the first to admit that when you're in a season of raising little kiddos and needing to ask for LOTS of support, it feels like trying to climb a mountain to make it happen. But I can promise you - the climb and the effort is worth it when it comes to your relationship. There's nothing like focused, quiet time together that truly fills your soul.

On today's episode of The Momlife Mindset Podcast, I had the privilege of interviewing Ashley Grover.
Ashley has been married to her husband Nate for 12 years! She's a mom to Kennedy (9) and Graham (7). Colorado born, went to Minnesota for college and lived there for the first part of her adult life. Now, they're currently living their dream in a suburb of San Diego!
Ashley's season of life revolves around her kids. They are both so busy with sports, which they LOVE. Getting them to their practices, cheering them on at games, and loving on their hard moments and successful ones!
Ashley is also a teacher, going into year 16!!! She has her Bachelors and Masters in Elementary Education with an emphasis in educational leadership and is currently teaching 5th grade.
I loved our conversation today - as we talk through the importance of personal wellness, cultivating healthy habits, having community, learning to ask for help/advocate for needs and most importantly - why partnering on the educational experience matters (not only for kiddos, but for parents and teachers alike!)

On this week's episode of The Momlife Mindset podcast, I share my open heart as a Mom of 4, special needs mom, some of my biggest fears and the things we're working to focus on at our house as we kick off a new school year.
My oldest kiddos are headed into 3rd and 5th grade. I can't pinpoint what it is - but somehow, there are lots of things that feel more "out of my control" and it's making me feel extra anxious and overwhelmed. As I continue to take things one day at a time and truly unpack where my unrest is coming from, I want to encourage you to know that the reality of up and down emotion is REAL when we get back into the swing of things with school, schedules, routines and more.
We have a lot of needs in our house. Neurodiversity included. While using the term "special needs" feels like one of the fastest and easiest ways to directly connect to other families - I am determined to be a change agent around changing the narrative. In my heart of hearts and the way I see the world - we all have needs. They're all different. They're all unique. They all vary based on who we are and how we were uniquely made. I have SO much more work to do. For myself. For my family. For my son. For my community. And as I continue to get educated and find ways to be a voice and make an impact, I will keep sharing. Because I have faith that our family's story will resonate somewhere with someone. And I know God laid this message and this mission on my heart for a reason. The mission of overall health and wellness - from the inside out - for all.

On today's episode of The Momlife Mindset Podcast, I had the personal joy of interviewing Mindy Court.
Mindy grew up in MN, went to college in WI and currently lives in La Crosse, WI with her husband Josh and their kids, Pearl (14) and Cam (10). She has been a teacher off and on since 2005 and has taught both middle school and elementary school. Mindy was lucky to stay home for four years while their youngest was a baby and being a stay at home mama was both fulfilling and difficult. She also started her wellness business (Fit Mind, Healthy Body) at that time as a way to enjoy her passion of fitness and nutrition while staying connected to other women and bringing in some income.
Once Cam was in school, their family decided that Mindy would head back to the teaching world. She started teaching full time at a local elementary school that was a year round, community school. Most of the students received free and/or reduced lunch and the families in general struggled at home with addiction, prostitution, abuse, neglect, etc. The children were these beautiful little beings facing adult problems and it was very sad. She thoroughly enjoyed working there and being a safe, loving, and consistent adult in their lives but it did take a toll. Mindy often came home mentally and physically exhausted and had zero in the tank left for her own family. Throw in Covid, having to teach virtually and the worry about students at home and her anxiety revved to an all time high. Mindy also decided to majorly scale back her wellness business because she couldn't put in the time or effort the women deserved and that was really hard for her.
In May, she made the decision to apply for a transfer to her neighborhood school, her son's school, and a school she has gotten to know well throughout the years. She is excited to make the move and to be on the same schedule as her children. She is hoping to spend more time actually focused on teaching and her own family once she walks in the door after school. Pearl is heading to high school and Cam has one year left of elementary school and Mindy can't wait to be more present for them! She also may be able to actively lead other women in healthy habits groups again, we will see!

On today's episode of The Momlife Mindset Podcast, I had the privilege of interviewing Anne Kenny.
Drawing from 15 years of experience in user research and design, Anne illustrates her observations and reflections on modern motherhood to visualize and validate what others feel but don’t always say. She’s inspired by the joys & challenges of life with 2 littles at home, infinite-scrolling supportive conversations with mom friends, and a Masterclass in parenting by her own mother. She also gets an “itch” to visualize insightful or poignant things she hears from others to help promote and amplify their work.
Most recently, Anne started Caring Ink to help moms feel seen through all the invisibility of motherhood– infertility, loss, postpartum, breastfeeding/pumping/feeding, invisible labor, returning to work, raising the next generation. Why? Because caregiving is woefully under-appreciated and we want people be more comfortable talking about and celebrating care.
In our interview, we dive deep on caregiving, the unseen, the tricky balance of finding support as a mother in the working world and so much more. I absolutely love that we share the common mission of helping moms feel seen in the unseen and I can't wait for you to tune in and hear Anne's story.

On today's episode of The Momlife Mindset Podcast, I share my thoughts on the power of AND. What do I mean by that? Literally - the power of saying - I need this AND that. I want to commit try this AND that. I love having access to this AND that. I'm super happy with this AND I want to keep finding new things too. It doesn't have to be OR. We don't have to pick and choose when it comes to our health. Or really anything in life. And we definitely don't have to feel boxed into one way of taking care of ourselves and serving others.
As a wellness coach, I share a lot about how I felt I had to choose in the beginning. That I wouldn't come across as truly committed or educated enough if I diversified the things I talked about and the ways I serve others. But the truth is - diversifying my effort has felt incredibly freeing over the past 2+ years. Learning what I really love MOST about the tools I have in my life AND taking a step to get educated on what else I want to learn, grow into and promote that feel aligned with my mission to wholeheartedly help women.
Don't be afraid of the power of AND - because it's truly incredibly powerful.
In the end - it's the key to staying grounded in immense gratitude for what we have while embracing our desire for growth.

In today's episode of The Momlife Mindset Podcast - I share some honest truth and encouragement around STOPPING this one big, thing in motherhood....the feeling/need to apologize or justify or over explain!!
Listen - motherhood is hard. Life is messy. Things rarely go to plan. If you're in a situation or surrounding by a circle that makes you feel like you need to over explain the WHY behind you and your life...time to surround yourself with new people! After listening to some amazing keynote speakers at my virtual coaching event this weekend, I want to pass this message along to you too...
You are WORTHY, NOW. You have extraordinary life, NOW. You are amazing and beautiful and strong and worth it - now. Just as you are. Just for merely existing and for being the human that you were created to be. Don't let the mess of the world or the things outside of your control ever deter you from doing what feels good to YOU in your day to day life.

On this week's episode of The Momlife Mindset Podcast, I had the honor of interviewing Monica Hoss.
Monica is a registered and licensed dietitian with a masters degree in nutrition science.
Ever since she was young - she's been interested in functional nutrition. Her mom had a book in our kitchen called foods that harm, foods that heal. She loved reading through it and learning about the relationship between food and our bodies. She became a dietitian because she wanted to spread this message! And fun fact?! She doesn't use recipes when she cooks. Or meal plans! She likes creating recipes on a whim!
In our interview, we dive deep on food freedom, women's health and how our inside out wellness is tied to our gut, hormones and so much more! She is a wealth of knowledge and I can't wait for you to hear more of her perspective on taking care of ourselves as women as our health evolves over time.

Jodi also holds a master’s in education and is a behavior specialist in schools. She brings her expertise to her podcast as host of the weekly show, The Good Mom Podcast.

In today's episode of The Momlife Mindset Podcast, I had the honor of interviewing Stephanie Watson. Stephanie is a Certified Health Coach. She attended the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and completed Emory's health coaching program. She also did Teach For America right after college and ended up teaching for 6 years. She has her Masters in Curriculum and Instruction.
During our interview, we dive deeper on functional medicine, gut health and why working with a practitioner is so powerful. Stephanie shares her own personal wellness journey, starting with anorexia at the age of 9 all the way to the symptoms she's working to uncover and manage now (chronic (low grade) dizziness, gut issues and a histamine intolerance). She has learned so much about inside out health in her own life and she's super passionate about supporting others as a health coach with Stat Wellness. Truly, finding the root to what may be causing symptoms and how you feel? It's game changing for our well-being from the inside out.

On today's episode, I'm sharing more of the story behind the MOLD exposure our family is working through, what we're learning and how diving into functional medicine/root cause truly is a pandora's box. It takes work. It takes effort. It takes resilience and patience and an investment. It's super emotional and brings up an overwhelming amount of questions.
But we are getting more data. We have more information. And slowly but surely - we're making progress.
Between my own, personal wellness concerns plus the neurological and behavioral concerns we've seen crop up more and more with our son, we are learning A LOT as a family. This process can really make you feel like you're on an island - but I know that's not true. Remember - sharing our stories provides HOPE. And my deepest prayer is that sharing our journey of uncovering more root cause concerns and neurological issues/inflammation/toxins and more will help other mamas and families advocate for health the way you deserve.

On today's episode of the podcast, I interview Bridgitte Carroll of Gut.Personal. What a BLAST our conversation was and truly - so incredibly eye opening when it comes to gut health and digging into the root cause of potential health concerns. I loved learning about her personal story, her own health concerns/symptoms, the birth of her company as well as the opportunity she had to intern with Dr. Mark Hyman.
Bridgitte is a conventionally trained dietitian - that always felt "off" and was on 5 different meds. She experienced symptoms and ongoing issues with thyroid, constipation, ADHD, migraine and had horrible periods. Over time - she found doctors weren't giving her answers, just more meds! So she decided to dive further...
Bridgitte is a serial entrepreneur and dietitian specializing in gut health. She's also a business coach and the Founder of GutPersonal supplements. Her mission is two fold - improve health and wealth for women! After healing herself & a decade of studying functional medicine and nutrition and healing hundreds of women, she realized even women who eat super healthy, have a lot of gut issues.
She started GutPersonal personalized gut health supplements on a mission to help 1 million women get rid of gut issues like bloating that are often normalized. Bridgitte also does high level private business mentorship & The Aligned Mastermind to empower female wellness entrepreneurs to create a business that aligns with their highest vision of self, family, life and biz.
The best news? You can easily get started on diving into your own gut health journey and healing by taking the quiz on their company website and connecting with her team on social. Details below...

In today's episode - I share more about my specific gut health journey and how much I'm learning as I dive deeper on root cause in my own health (and really the health of our entire family). From removing inflammatory foods like gluten and dairy, to SIBO testing and following LOW FODMAP, adding supplements, to mold exposure, regulating our nervous system, environmental toxins and more - it's amazing what you start to uncover as you get specific data on your body.
Throughout the month of June - I will be interviewing several amazing women in the nutrition and functional medicine space that will offer great feedback and perspective around how to advocate for your needs. Especially as our health evolves with age!

As we kick off Mental Health Awareness Month - I'm diving into my FULL motherhood story on the podcast today. While I tried to keep things concise - looks like this will be PART 1 of the story. From moving abroad to Australia to have our first baby to transitioning back to the states to have our others - I've learned a lot about the differences in maternal care and postpartum care delivering in two different parts of the world.
In this episode - I share my heart around how going from 1 - 2 babies was incredibly hard for me. I reached an extreme low when our second was about 1 years old. I was lonely, overwhelmed, lost, burned out and so OVER it - but felt incredibly guilty and riddled with added sadness when I admitted those words to my husband. I didn't understand why I felt so down when I was "supposed" to be so overjoyed, thankful and remembering to count my blessings.
Tune into my story today and stay tuned for PART 2 coming later this week.

On today's episode, I'm sharing more about the give-back plan for Mental Health Awareness month and how you can get involved! By either sharing your story/perspective through posts for Maternal Mental Health Week or purchasing items through my shop as a part of the give-back initiative - it's an honor to do this work alongside you and bring more awareness to this incredibly important topic.
The Happy Place. Happy Mind. focus is all about staying present in the moment, feeling calm/peace and truly working to create energy that leaves you fulfilled. A carefree sort-of energy, embracing that life is happening FOR us and where we are - in this moment - is the only place we need to be. These kinds of mindset practices are so important on our overall wellness journey. Every day, I'm reminded how our health starts from the inside out. As women and mamas, it's imperative that we keep working to normalize talking through our needs, our co-existing feelings and knowing that it's OK to reach out for added help and support.
All items are officially LIVE at The Momlife Mindset Shop and as mentioned in today's episode, a portion of all earnings from now until the end of May will be donated back to the non-profit organization - 2020Mom.

I'd love to know, Mama - where is your happy place?! In today's episode, I'm sharing my heart around our spring break trip and the importance of finding happy places. We hear all the time about happy places like the beach, Disney, the mountains and more. But have you ever thought about the importance of finding happy places in the small, simple things that we experience day to day?
May is Mental Health Awareness Month and here at The Momlife Mindset, we have big plans to give back and spread awareness when it comes to talking more often and with more depth about this important topic. Our mental health matters more than anything. Without it, it's impossible to work on our overall health and well-being the way we deserve.

I'm not perfect. And sometimes - I learn the hard way. Our lifestyle choices - from what we choose to eat, how much we sleep, how we create boundaries and protect our peace - it all affects how we feel from the inside out. In this episode, I'm sharing more of my heart around our weekend as a family and how my indulgences started to pile up on one another and left me feeling TERRIBLE come Monday morning. I've been diving a lot further into gut health, food sensitivities and root cause issues as of late. As I continue to learn more about these things - I'm also continuing to learn more about what works and what doesn't.
My truth is - I have a much harder time managing my mental and emotional well-being when I'm not fueling my body well. I can feel the affects of my choices times 100 when I'm haphazard with my habits. As I continue to learn my body's needs, it's an incredibly long, interesting, eye-opening process to learn how my body is evolving.
Have you ever noticed any differences in how you feel as you make certain lifestyle choices? Too many indulgences? Not enough sleep? Send me a DM anytime and let's chat more about what you're learning.

Over the weekend, I had the opportunity to watch the LA Marathon and my youngest sister completely crush her goal of completing it. I am one PROUD big sister and was vividly reminded of the power of believing in yourself while watching so many run the race.
When I decided to go watch her a little over 3 weeks ago - I also registered for the 5K race. Going out of town, spending the money, renting the car, getting the hotel, registering for the race, doing all the things - all on my own - with no one to rely on and no one relying on me - was a gift I needed to give myself (more so than I even realized). It can be so easy to forget how hard we work every day, Mama. We do hard things day in and day out - and we were meant to do whatever our hearts desire.
Sometimes - it takes that little, added push of perspective, outside of our comfort zones, to instill belief again on a deeper level and help us remember that we are capable of doing anything we set our minds to!

In today's episode, I share about a powerful quote I came across this weekend and how it forced me to really dig into the idea of boundaries when it comes to protecting our mental health. So often as moms and as women, we equate not having the capacity to not being capable, worthy or enough. This is SO FAR from the truth.
Please know that setting boundaries and coming to terms with not having the capacity in this season for certain things is OKAY. We are not created to do it all and be it all and get it all done at one time. Lean into the power of setting boundaries for yourself and remember - if it's no longer serving your mental and emotional well-being...then it's too expensive. It's time to pivot, change, try something new, communicate in a different way and set new boundaries.

The further I dive into gut health, the more I'm learning about the mind-gut connection and how our wellness is all intertwined. As someone who faces mental health struggles related to anxiety and depression, it's become glaringly clear that my symptoms feel heavier and harder to manage when I'm not paying attention to my overall health needs from the inside out.
After working with my functional doctor over the past 5+ months, root cause has been the main thing we are working to uncover together. While watching foods I consume and cutting out potential autoimmune triggers, there's still a deeper level of healing that I know needs to take place in my body. I can feel it! And my goodness - is the process long, uncomfortable and takes an insane amount of added patience.
But here's the thing. Our overall health and wellness is worth that level of committed, diligent advocacy. Feeling our best is worth the effort - no matter what it takes or how long the road goes. As I continue to learn - I will continue to share. I'd love to hear from you too and connect further on our stories. Life has broken me a lot. But as of late - it's broken me down to my core. The littlest things can send me into negative spirals. The overwhelm can become so intense, I don't want to get out of bed. And while I don't know exactly what I need, I won't stop trying to find solutions, resources, help and support in order to empower me through to the other side of this broken state.
Even in the broken - I'm working to focus on finding the joy. Reminiscing on good memories, finding the quiet, breathing, using my creative muscle, watching consumption and embracing that feelings co-exist. Lean harder into SIMPLE things - more than ever before. Adjust expectations - more than ever before. It's absolutely okay that things are different than you imagined.
I want you to know that being human is HARD. And being a mom is HARD. The things we experience and the feelings we have are real. They're heavy, they're intense and the journey of trying to process it all takes time. Please know you are never alone when it comes to the up and down of life. We all go through heavy seasons. I'm in one right now. But let this be your reminder to seek the help and support you need. It's okay to say "I'm not okay" and lean into others. And it's okay to give yourself immense amounts of grace for the process.

In this episode, I'm sharing the interview I was honored to do with Jessica Crate Oveson and Communities That Care. She asked me to do an interview and share my heart around the work I do here at The Momlife Mindset. You can read more about this amazing initiative and the important work the CTC does at https://ctcsummitcounty.org/blog/. Mental health MATTERS and the more we continue to connect, talk about how we can help/serve and bring light to this topic - the more we will continue to break down the walls and the stigma that exists.
I am incredibly PROUD to be a mental health advocate and I look forward to many more powerful and meaningful conversations with other voices in the Mental Health space. Please know - it takes all of us. We need to come together to flip the script. With community, connection and conversation - we can (and WILL!) normalize what we all manage internally from the inside out.

In this Episode, you'll be surprised by the powerful realization and reflection that came about for me as I've started celery juicing. While working on my health and healing from the inside out, I'm learning a lot about myself. Some good things, some not so good things - as that's the true journey of healing. Our mind and our thoughts are an incredibly powerful thing. The more I dig into self awareness and learning my habits, triggers and the things I'm saying to myself - the more I'm able to identify patterns and habits that I want to change.

In today's episode - I share about the importance of really knowing what's triggering you in motherhood. What thoughts are you having? What little things are putting you over the edge and outside your "window of tolerance"? While this is sometimes easy to identify, other times - it's not. As moms in a busy, connected and chaotic world, there is SO much information and noise. I know it can feel nearly impossible to stop the swirling of thoughts in our heads and really get back to a place of feeling grounded in truth.
If this sounds like you and something you're working on, please know you're not alone. I feel it too. The sensory overload feeds into my anxiety and in turn, can lead to habits that tear me down and perpetuate the cycle. While I share some of my top tips, tricks and tools that work for our household when it comes to addressing emotion, sensory overload and anxiety - I'd love to hear what kinds of things work for you too! In this episode, I talk about how habits can carry us one direction or the other when life gets hard, heavy and unpredictable. Our family recently went through an unexpected traumatic experience and while I continue to process, I wanted to share WHY self-awareness related to our choices truly matters.
As a Mom of 4 kids, I'm learning every single day that my daily choices matter to my kids. Not only because it can determine the energy I have for our day to day life, but it also showcases the example of how I want them to learn how to take care of themselves too. I am a major work in progress on this - but the older I get, the more I'm learning and the more I'm pulling myself out of the "pit" faster and faster.

In today's episode, I'm sharing how powerful it can be to remove the word "JUST" from our vocabulary. This past weekend, I saw the winner of the Dopey Challenge at WDW (Brittany Charboneau), share these powerful words - "Remove the word JUST! Stop downplaying your accomplishments and instead, focus on being PROUD of what you did."
She shared these words of encouragement in response to people congratulating her and then sharing what they did over the race weekend as well. I couldn't love this message more - which is why I felt pulled to share it with you today too. So often, we downplay what we're doing. As moms. As women. As business owners. As partners. We downplay because we feel like we have to justify, over explain or defend where we are, what we're doing on our own path and the choices we're making. The truth? All that matters is following what you feel is meant for you.
My challenge to you this week? REMOVE the word JUST from your vocabulary. Move through some of the uncomfortable you may feel and push into a place where you PROUDLY declare exactly who you are and what you've done, what you're doing and what you're working towards.
I would greatly appreciate your review, comments and feedback as you tune into the podcast. Your support means the world to me!

In today's episode, I'm sharing my overall experience from start to finish after completing my first half marathon at Walt Disney World. What a RUSH! And what a process as we get back to reality this week and embrace the daily grind. I've been finding myself stuck in two places mentally..."Where do I even start?" and "So...now what?"
As I navigate the post-race process and the mix of feelings - I wanted to share my top tips and the simple tricks I've been focusing on to help pull myself back into forward motion. Remember, one of the most powerful processing tools (mentally) is talking through your thoughts and thinking out loud. I hope this message adds value to your day! In today's episode, I'm drawing a boundary. And as an Enneagram 2 w 1 - that's hard to do. I can be really good at serving those around me and in turn, not so good at paying attention to my personal needs and the immediate needs in front of me. This year, I'm working hard on this and want to encourage you to do the same.
While I have big goals and a massive vision for 2022 - I'm not quite ready to release the details. I'm not quite ready and that's okay. I want to give you permission to embrace the pause too (if you need it). Don't live there, but allow yourself to evolve and flow in a way that feels good to you and your overall health from the inside out.
Give yourself grace and space, Mama. If you're not quite ready, if you need more time - take what you need before your next steps.
More to come on the mindset trainings in the near future!

With only a few days left in the year - let's take some time this week to really focus on what matters most. Maybe you're thinking ahead to the 2022. Maybe you're setting new goals, new dreams, have a new vision. Maybe you're thinking hard about what you didn't get to over the past 365 days and it has you feeling "off". Regardless of how the last year went - it's so important to MAKE the time to focus on what you DID do, DID accomplish, DID impact as you prep ahead for all to come.

I just wrapped up my first podcast interview and wanted to unpack my feelings with you. Have you ever had a season where you felt down, low, lost, unmotivated, just "off"? So much of that ebbs and flows as a part of life. Some of it also comes from allowing ourselves to forget what fills us up as women, mamas, wives and beyond.
Today - I want to encourage you to remember that pushing outside your comfort zone is worth it. Why? Because truly - it gives you that added boost of energy and confidence to remember WHO you are and how WORTH IT you are.

As a health and wellness coach - I LOVE seeing all the FIT-MAS challenges pop up around the holidays. Encouraging ourselves and others to move, take care of our health and carve in time for self-care is crucial! Especially during the busy-ness of the holidays!
This year - I wanted to add a little twist at The Momlife Mindset. Cue the 12 Days of FLIP-MAS Challenge! 🎄🎅🏼 A holiday MINDSET challenge where we're working together to FLIP the SCRIPT and focus on the things we say to ourselves.
During the 12 days, I've been sharing statements and encouraging people to FLIP it into a positive. All engagement goes towards the opportunity to win fun giveaways, all while changing HOW we say things and working on our personal soundtracks.
The challenge runs through Thursday, 12/16 (as I'm only posting on weekdays). There's still plenty of time to join in on the fun! Head over to Instagram for more information - hope to see you there and Happy Holidays!
