This podcast explores what the founder of analytical psychology, Carl Jung, referred to as “the shadow.” The shadow is believed to be composed of all the negative contents of our psyches we repress and find it difficult to acknowledge and integrate.
This podcast’s particular interest is in 1. Delving into the many ways in which these murky elements keep business leaders from realizing their full potential, and 2. In learning to pinpoint and overcome these persistent, self-sabotaging aspects of the personality.

David speaks with a client, who owns and operates a rapidly growing tile installation company, about accountability, his journey into discovering discipline, and doing "the work".
David speaks with Ross, who co-owns and operates a successful online retailer of both print and digital magazine subscriptions. His business partner, it’s important to note, also happens to be his younger brother and the two of them have been going strong for a little more than 10 years.
David met Ross through a personal associate recently, and they hadn't previously talked apart from a brief call a few weeks ago to introduce themselves to one another and setup this session. He wanted to do a coaching call with someone he wasn’t familiar with, as wrangling a personality he's never worked with before can present certain challenges, which he thinks are interesting to work through and learn from.
Ross, for example, is a somewhat cerebral guy who took a fair amount of coaxing to help him out of his head (or his story) and get him into his body, so he and David could uncover and explore what was beneath the tightly-constructed narrative keeping him from executing closer to his full capacity.
David talks with John, an up-and-coming leader working as a General Superintendent in Light Civil Construction, who is working to advance within his company, which presently includes thinking about how to back-fill his current position with a potential candidate who may or may not be the right person for the role.
Jill, the owner of a small marketing firm, dips into heartache as she discovers what lies beneath two matters she has been avoiding.
