For many, death is terrifying. We try to live as long as possible while hoping that science will soon find a way to allow us to live, if not forever, then at least a very long time.
Whether we deny our mortality though literal or symbolic immortality or try to turn death into something benign, our attempts fail us. But what if the real solution is not in denying death’s reality, but in acknowledging it while enjoying a hope for a wonderful forever?
Clay Jones, a professor of Christian apologetics, explores the ways people face death and how these “immortality projects” are unsuccessful, even destructive. Along the way, he points to the hope of the only true immortality available to all—the truth that God already offers a path to our hearts’ deepest longing: glorious resurrection to eternal life.

God used Caesar Augustus to bring the prophecy to pass that Christ would be born in Bethlehem. In the birth of Jesus, we see a God who is sovereign, the humble life of our Savior, and a baby who was born that we might be born again.
Thank God for Christmas. In this message, we explore Mary's visit with Elizabeth, and Mary's praise, known as the Magnificat. In hearing Mary's praise we are reminded what true worship looks like.

Have you ever tossed a stone into a lake? When the water breaks the surface it sends out ripples, and we see concentric circles form. When we look at the early church and the Gospel message, we see these same ripples. It began in Jerusalem, spread to the surrounding areas, and then into the world! In this series, we are challenged to serve in concentric circles: Home, Church, Community, and the World. Today, we begin with the furthest circle, and are reminded to serve the world.
We often hear people say things like, "All sin is equal in God's eyes" or "sin is sin." What does that mean, and is it true? Let's talk about it in the concluding message of this series.
You have probably heard it before, "I don't have to go to church to be a Christian." You also don't have to have a parachute to jump out of a plane, a lawyer to go to court, or an oxygen tank to go scuba diving...well...you get the point! Assembling with other believers is crucial for the Christian! The person of God needs the people of God.

Love is love....or is it? What is love (🎵 Baby Don't Hurt me🎵 )? How do we make sense of our sexually confused culture? What kind of sexual ethic do we find in scripture?
Follow your heart! Have a big decision? Follow your heart! What direction in morality? Just follow your heart! Our culture is quick to offer this advice. Is it a good idea to follow our hearts?
It is a frequently quoted verse. It is played as a trump card to end all arguments. "Judge not." So, should Christians make judgments? Does everyone judge sometimes? Is there a right and wrong way to judge our behavior and that of other people?
God just wants me to be happy. Right? Is it possible, that what makes me happy might be bad for me? Perhaps happiness today is misery tomorrow? Is happiness tied to circumstances?

We have all heard it when going through difficult times, "Hang in there, you know God won't give you more than you can handle." Is that really the case? At times, life can feel overwhelming. At times, it feels as though God allows way more than we can handle! What gives?

Companies build their brand with catchy slogans. At times, we find slogans in our culture that promote an idea or philosophy. Sometimes, these phrases even get repeated by well meaning Christians! We all have those "breakthrough" moments in our lives and in regards to our faith. In this message, we see a last minute breakthrough in the life of a man whose name we do not even know! However, we have so much to gain by listening to the conversation he had with Jesus. Perhaps, we too, need a breakthrough?

He broke through all obstacles that separate man from God. We see so many places in scripture where people had breakthrough moments with God. We all want to win the game. We live in a society where everyone is going 'round and 'round the board at a breakneck pace! However, when the game is over, it all goes back in the box. How are we playing the game? Are we focusing on the things that truly matter?
Just imagine it......A preacher delivers a message to a sold out venue of 120,000 people. The majority of the people hear his message and repent. The preacher then walks off into the sunset with the theme from The Mandalorian playing in the background. Is this what happens in Jonah chapter 4? Have you ever need a second chance? Sure you have, because we all need a second chance sometimes. The God of the Bible is the God of second chances. We find that Jonah gets a second chance to obey, and Nineveh gets a second chance to repent. Here, we find ourselves reminded that our merciful and gracious God often gives us a second chance if we repent and seek Him.

The story of Jonah has been told, and retold, thousands of times. Jonah being swallowed by the fish is certainly an exciting part of the story, however, if we focus on the fish we miss so much! In between Jonah being swallowed and spit out we find God's sovereignty, grace, and mercy, along with Jonah's stubbornness, unrepentant heart, and dead theology. Dive into chapter two with us, but don't focus on the fish too much.
Jonah thought he knew better than God. God said "go" and Jonah said "no." Instead of obeying God, Jonah ran. We have probably all ran from God at some point in our lives. However, our disobedience always brings a storm into our lives, and our storms impact the other people in our ship.
The story of Jonah is a story of grace, mercy, love, forgiveness, learned lessons, and obedience. It reminds us to always run toward God instead of away, to love God above all, and to love our neighbor as ourself. We can learn much from Jonah, the man who ran.
What is going to happen in the future? What is to come? What happen's when we die? Every worldview has to answer these questions. Find out in this concluding message of the series, "A Christian Worldview."
We know that something is wrong with the world, but how do we fix it? We understand that we are broken people who have lost our way, but what is the cure? This week, we look at the classic Christmas song, "O Come, All Ye Faithful." This year, perhaps, as you listen to the lyrics or sing the song, you don't feel faithful, joyful, or triumphant. The good news is, God is always faithful. Through Christ, we can be faithful also, and with faithfulness comes joy and triumph!

We want to remember throughout the Christmas season there is so much "myrrh" to Christmas! Each week, leading up to Christmas, we will look at a Christmas carol and examine the timeless truths that the song communicates. This week we discuss The First Noel, but what in the world is a Noel anyway?
As Americans, most of us have our basic needs met. Often, we have many of our wants met as well. Yet, at times, we forget to be thankful! As we close out the book of Philippians, we are challenged to be thankful and content people.

Do you ever think about...what you...think about? Philippians 4:6 reminds us that we should not be anxious about anything. Instead, we should learn to practice thinksgiving!
Integrity is who you are when no one else is looking. We see this modeled in the life and character of a man named Daniel! Bryan Bozman reminds us of the call to be people of integrity!
Have you ever laughed when someone slipped or tripped? Shame on you! It is easy sometimes to lose our footing, and then we hit the ground. However, as Paul begins Philippians chapter four, he reminds us to stand firm. As Christians, we have a firm foundation. In Philippians 4:1-6, Pauls tells us how to stand firm and live a life of stability on the foundation of Christ!
Tolkien once wrote, 'It’s a dangerous business, going out of your door. 'You step into the Road, and if you don’t keep your feet, there is no telling where you might be swept off to.'" It is easy to be swept off course! There are so many deceptive ideas and false teachings. At the close of Philippians 3, Paul reminds us that we run with other believers, run from evil, and we run toward Christ!
If you are in a race, you run to win! The Christian life is not a passive endeavor. The Apostle Paul challenges us to strive daily, keep our eyes on the prize, and run to win!
Are you a list person? There is something about making a "to-do list" and checking the boxes that is just so satisfying! In Philippians 3:4-11, the Apostle Paul shares his testimony. He creates two lists. One is a list of losses and the other a list of gains. When He became a believer, He traded everything he was for everything Christ is. The gain far exceeded the loss!

However, as Christians, we have the light. We are to shine in the darkness. The world needs to see the light of Christ. Let's burn brighter and brighter.

What kind of title is n ty??? Well, you can't have UNITY without U and I! In this message, we receive a reminder from Paul about the importance of unity within the church. We will notice what motivates unity, how to achieve it, and also examine the perfect example, Jesus!
Paul challenges us to live in such a way that our lives our worthy of the Gospel. It is a call for self-examination. It is a call to "check ourselves." Is my life worthy of the Gospel? How do I live such a worthy life? Paul lets us know in Philippians 1:27-30.
Have you ever thought about what you want to be remembered for? Often, there is a difference between what we want to be remembered for, or who we think we are, and how we live day to day. We are etching our story into stone on a daily basis whether we realize it or not. What if we could truly say "To live is Christ and to die is gain"? What if that were the story we left behind?
We all have our share of setbacks, disappoints, trials, and struggles. In those moments, it is tempting to want to escape or fast-forward through them. We say things like, "I just want things to be normal again." We are often tempted during difficult seasons to be angry, detached, or downcast. However, we must be reminded that there is joy in the struggle. The apostle Paul is a testament to finding joy in the middle of difficult times.

We expect adults to act like adults! In the same way, as Christians mature, we expect them to act more like Christ! We all have some growing up to do in our faith. As Paul prays for the Philippian church, we note that he prays they would mature in their faith! In this message, we are encouraged to grow up in Christ.
As Paul prays for the Ephesians, he points out five essentials for the joyful Christian!
When we don't know how to do something, we frequent the internet. We can find all kinds of information in the vast reaches of cyberspace, but how do we find joy? Did you know, the book of Philippians is often referred to as a letter of joy? The apostle Paul dearly loved the Philippian church. He encourages them and challenges them to find peace, contentment and joy. In this introduction to the book of Philippians, we look at the origins of the Philippian church and learn a few things along the way.

We really hope you like this message!At times, it is easy to fall into the habit of trying to please others. It is great to treat people kind and do nice things for others, but the person we should strive to please is God. When we say no to pleasing people, we find freedom to live and speak in a way that honors Christ. Maybe you have a "suitcase" full of striving to please people. Let's unpack that together.

Bruce Shelley stated, “Christianity is the only major religion to have at its central event the humiliation of its God.” Scripture gives us some bad news, we have some serious problems. Yet, it also gives us some good news. The good news is found in humiliation and brutal murder of God.
Jesus came as a suffering servant. He came as a servant to the world. In John 13, He demonstrates his humility by washing the feet of His disciples. He came and died that each of us might be washed clean of our sins. That is some GOOD NEWS! However, not everyone welcomes the good news. We must first receive it into our lives and then share it with the world around us!
