In part 3 of our series, "David: After God's Heart," Pastor Dave Fields preaches on how friendship isn't just a nice 'addition' to life, but God made us for friendship. Living a God-dominated life will require that we befriend those who can help us live as God intended.
In this final message of our "Life. Shared." series, we look into how the quality of our life together as a church is an integral part of the mission we are called to. We are to both audibly proclaim the news of Jesus and embody what this new life means; showing the world visibly, through our love for one another, what the Gospel does.
God's goal is the creation of community – to bring us together under his loving leadership – and that means connecting as true friends. But what is the source and the shape of that friendship in Christ? In this message we explore the book of Philippians and how Paul connects with this community with deep closeness and generosity of spirit, as well as with purpose.
Life was made to be shared. We are created for community, by the God who is community - Father, Son and Holy Spirit. But the individualism of our age runs so deep that we may struggle to really be open to all that life together really means. The second message in our series "Life. Shared." dives into God's big purposes in for our Community - and how we should live as the Community of Christ.
Life was made to be shared. We are created for community, by the God who is community - Father, Son and Holy Spirit. But the individualism of our age runs so deep that we may struggle to really be open to all that life together really means. This first message in our series "Life. Shared." dives into God's big purposes in Creation - and what this means for being his people.
Continuing our Advent Series, "Expecting: Awaiting the God of the Unexpected," Pastor Dave Fields speaks on how Advent is all about waiting — waiting for healing, waiting for the dawn, the world waiting for God's promised Messiah, and even God waiting to send Jesus to us at just the right time.
Continuing our Advent Series, "Expecting: Awaiting the God of the Unexpected," Pastor Dave Fields speaks on how the story of Mary and Elizabeth is more shocking than we often realize, and opens us up to the reality that God works in surprising, unexpected ways. Will we be open to the God of the unexpected this Advent?
Pastor Dave concludes our series going through Colossians in part seven where we see that in praying, wrestling, being ‘watchful’, aware of God’s work, and then being thankful – we are participating in God’s healing of the world. And we now come and see that it is all through Jesus’ work of making us new. That we are forgiven, so we are forgiving.
Pastor Dave continues our series going through Colossians in part five where, we see in chapter 3, Paul offers how life rooted in Jesus is to shape our character and our community. Using the metaphor of changing clothes, he shows that in the New Creation life, we are to "put off" those patterns of distorted sexuality and destructive words and in stead put on the Kingdom ways - of compassion, patience, love.
In the fourth part of our series going through Colossians, we see that being "rooted in Christ" means not only maintaining trust in Jesus as God's Son, who rescues through his death and resurrection, but also being on guard for bad ideas that lead away from him. In this section Paul tells the community of Christ to 'stay rooted' and 'not be deceived' by empty philosophy. We need this same word today.
In the second part of our series going through Colossians, we see that Paul presents us with the truest, most beautiful realities of Jesus as Creator and Redeemer – the picture of creation/new creation – not without reason. If we are to be rooted in Jesus, we need to know Jesus as he is. And that leads to knowing who we truly are.
We are starting our new series on Colossians and in this first message we see the joy of Paul over the beginning of this new community of Jesus-followers, and his prayer that they would grow deeply in knowing God. And his sense of joy, and prayer for growth are key to our flourishing today as well.

Spirituality and Mission are intimately -- even 'inseparably' -- bound up in each other.
Like inhale and exhale flow in and out of each other -- they are really the one, single action of "breathing" -- so too is mission and spirituality. * Dave Fields
