I was skeptical of Artificial intelligence until I finally tried it and realized that if you do the difficult creative work beforehand and feed it precise information, then A.I can be your collaborator and thinking partner, making it a powerful idea generator but you create the idea and you do the work.

The other day, I watched a sci-fi movie that had a profound effect on me, it was more than your typical space flick but rather a very thought provoking message on the value we put on time, that continuously keeps ticking...away.
I realized that there will most likely not be enough time to read all the books I want to read, watch all the movies I want to watch, listen to all the music I want to listen to, try all the foods I want to try, experience the world the way I want to experience it and quality time spent with the ones I love, will there be enough? One of my biggest struggles as a human in progress is anticipating negative outcomes before they happen. The cost of negative anticipation when we predict an ending that has not happened yet is a heavy price to pay. In some cases, we have been programmed for so long to anticipate that we stay unaware of the long-term build up that happens in our minds which eventually clogs clear thinking an our enjoyment of pursuing life and not predicting the catch.
The present moment.

"If I was you, I would do this..."
"Let me give you some advice"
"Aren't you happy where you are?"
"I told you so, you should have listened to me"
"Are you sure?"
Recognize any of these meddling catch phrases and unsolicited advice? The meddler is that person who is stuck at their own pity party and wanting you to join them.
They are experts at trying to convince you that following your dreams is dangerous, risky, and you may fail. Unconciously they want the courage to be just like you but it's much easier to convince you otherwise and stay put in the comfort zone and feed your negativity with others like them.
Here's my perspective on how to spot and avoid them, surround yourself instead with uplifters, who will stay away from giving you advice and simply encourage and believe in you, while you pursue your dreams.

I was driving to the music store with my son William last week, he wanted to buy a new keyboard for his studio and he was telling me that he was looking to join a band as a keyboard player but loved having full control as a solo artist.
He then said " I'll either play in a band or be a solo artist"
I automatically responded " Why can't you do both?"
Why limit yourself with a choice?
If you want, you can play in a band and be a solo artist, You can also be an athlete and cook and draw and you may even want to pursue them further with a business or a side project.
I want to share with you my ideas on how we should be careful to not limit ourselves when exploring and experimenting with a few pursuits. Become an expert at one but try many.

A conversation with both founders of Tambour Café's William and Robin.
Co-founder WILLIAM BARRY has given himself the mission of converting all his friends to coffee, even the most reluctant ones! He would move heaven and earth for a perfect espresso. The co-owner of Tambour Café, loves to make coffee entirely by hand. His journey started as a barista in 2019 and went on to learn roasting. His passion for mixing both art and science in every cup.
Co-founder ROBIN DUBE consumes an astronomical amount of coffee allowing him to seem tireless on an ultimate frisbee field. He is sorry to not have taken advantage of his trips to Costa Rica, Peru and Indonesia to meet with coffee producers. Robin has been a barista since 2018, always thirsty for new knowledge, he now embodies both the coffee fanatic and roaster.

Overflowing with imagination, Roger Dubé would write in his sketchbooks and draw in his notebooks. While in the classroom, he would daydream as he starred out the window. In this last episode of season 1 of the Weathercock podcast, I reflect on what I've learned since launching the WC podcast 6 months ago.

In 2018, Alexis Helena started recognizing her worth & wanted to do better; to be better. Alex recognized her values in life & wanted to succeed in everything she did. Alexis discovered the leader within her & learned how to heal from her past.
It went from negative to positive with a winning mindset.
Alexis started becoming spiritually curious & connected with some profound individuals who taught her a lot. What we say to ourselves is key when we make a mistake, screw up or have a bad day.
We call ourselves out while not paying that much attention to the words we use and move on with our day, but those words imprint themselves in our minds and eventually can become downright negative self-talk.
Here are a few ideas and strategies I defer to catch myself and be mindful of the words I call myself.
After all, we would never talk that way to someone else so why would we talk to ourselves that way? Let's unpack!

Daniel is the husband of an amazingly inspiring wife of over seven years and the father of two energetic and loving sons, ages 5 and 3.5. He previously worked as an elementary school teacher for a decade. He has worn many hats in his lifetime: teacher, banker, volleyball coach, volunteer, stay at home dad. However, when you boil down all these experiences, you get someone who has lived a life dedicated to serving others. Seeking to understand when having a conversation rather than wanting to be understood would improve ten fold our relationships and help them become more robust and fulfilling.
I believe we should listen with more intention and shut up a little more before voicing our point of view and consider what has been said.
Anticipation + expectations = jumping to conclusions.
This has been a pattern of mine for a long time, but I work hard and try my best every day to be a better listener and and look to understand and not be simply understood when having a conversation or hearing someone out.
I am a constant work in progress but always improving.
How are you on listening and understanding rather than anticipating and jumping to conclusions?

Every new year, you have tons of advertisements and promotions for courses, programs, coaching, etc. on how to make this year your best year yet and make your Resolutions and more resolutions stick.
81% quit and abandon their new year's resolutions around this time of the year.
There are a lot of reasons, but the need for quick results comes to the top of the list of reasons and add how we sometimes feel pressured to join, be part of a movement, get on the bandwagon without knowing exactly what it is we are looking to upgrade in our lives with intention.
As I strive to become a better version of myself, I feel it too, but i choose to have a consistent and impactful 2023 instead of simply a best year, I want to get a little better every day, 1% more at whatever it is that i'm pursuing.
Learn and grow through repetition and being committed to the process of acquiring skill a little more every single day.
It's long and I get impatient, but i'm getting a little better every day at understanding and committing to being patient and having fun along the way.
Patience is the key to unlocking your potential. Let's talk about it in this episode!

The first guest of 2023 is none other than my son William.
We have an open and honest talk about identity.
This very heartfelt and insightful conversation about being identified for what we do, and not who we are at our core and our search to find meaning and understand my son and myself better.
The road is not straight, exits, off ramps, back roads, pitfalls and pit stops are part of the process of experimenting and discovering your true identity.
William played hockey for most of his life, he was associated as a hockey player throughout his childhood and adolescence which he believed was his only identity and that created an obstacle to follow his curiosity of other interests he had.
But in 2020 when the pandemic hit, he decided to hang up his skates from the sport he was associated to and try something new.
Something that would make his heart glow and light a fire under his feet.
Being and staying curious oftens leads to great discovery and your identity.
...And he even returned to the sport he loves in 2023 with a new perspective.

The last episode of a trio of solo holiday podcasts.
Question:
Are you in the process of becoming a better version of yourself?
I often get asked by clients and my surroundings is: "is it's normal to develop an uneasy feeling around conversations and comments with people, friends, family members, colleagues and others that do not elevate us?
Answer: Totally normal.
I call it being "allergic" to communication with others that do not serve us, that do not reflect who we are becoming and honour all the inner-work we are doing to elevate our life. We become more aware and lose all desire to participate in any conversation or topic that is negative, puts down others, blames others, join a pity party or listening to someone who is not taking responsibility for their decisions.
You cannot change someone who does not want to change but you can decide that you will not participate in "low level" communication with others or at least try and change the subject or maybe you wil choose to slowly move away from people that do not lift you up anymore.
Here's a story that happened to me over the holidays and how my partner inspired me to try better next time.

Last episode of 2022!
This one is about looking back and celebrating the progress we made in 2022.
No matter how small or how big, if you took a few steps forward, that is still progress.
So, what's next for you in 2023?
One thing I love doing, is write a letter to myself on January 1st and open it Januray 1st of the next year and take a moment to reflect and review my year.
It is a special moment between my words and my thoughts staring back a me.
The letter to myself encapsulates and records a period in time and we continue to go forward from there on.
Celebrate yourself, set your dreams high, you only have this life to live so take a first step forward and most of all, enjoy the process!
Let's raise our glasses to progress!

The holidays are right around the corner and wether you celebrate or not, this time of the year is busy everywhere and can test our collective patience.
I caught myself being impatient the other, stuck in traffic while running a few errands and although I was able to bring myself back to a patient state, I realized that I hav yet to tame my impatient monster!
I try my best.
This was a blessing in disguise because I got the idea to create this episode and share with you a few strategies I use when running errands, shopping, going to an appointment or just in a traffic jam, etc.
I'm sure you have your game plan too when going out but I believe we should all practice a little more patience towards each other, whatever the wait time, take advatange of waiting in line, in a waiting room or in your car and do something productive, fun and try to tune out the noise, oh and don't forget, keep hydrated!
Here are a few things I do... maybe you do them to or maybe you have your own approach and maybe you don't.
Hopefully this will inspire you to try more abd be a little better at being patient, here is my perspective on a little more ( merry) patience!

Part 1 of a 2-part conversation with our guest Pauline Grouette who revisits the past and shares with us her story of pain and abuse growing up and how these experiences that almost broke her had quite the opposite effect.

In this solo episode, I look back on words my father said to me on his hospital bed one year ago that triggered a deep reflection about my own mortality and what I am striving to become as a human in constant progress.
This also provoked one question to measure the quality of my life thus far.
I call it my yardstick question.

Pooja shares with us stories about being curious and adventurous as a child growing up in India and making the important life decision as a young adult to move to Australia with her partner and with only 2000$ in their pockets!
Pooja looks back at the important part her father played in her growth as a young woman and even in passing, the lessons she learned from her dad remain invaluable and although he has left the physical world, he is still very present in her life today his wisdom helps her navigate the many challenges she's had to face in recent years.
This healing journey is what Pooja calls "excavating the layers of rubble" and where the answers from within await, the healing can begin and then be transformed into living a fulfilled life.

In this new episode, I break down my recent struggle with keeping my patience in check when working on projects that just do not seem to move forward quickly enough. Impatient frustration sets in. How about you?
I am a firm believer that patience is the key to accomplishing all of our wildest dreams, more importantly we need to also be enjoying the process, the journey, the pursuit etc.

In this solo episode, I had my subject all planned out and ready to roll, when something happened to me on my way out to run an errand.
It was one of those perfectly timed events that you realize had to happen at that precise moment. I had no choice... out the window with my original subject and go with what just happened.
Here's a short story about taking lunchtime walk on a blustery winter day in February 2022 where anxiety kept me in a scarcity mindset and how finding a 20$ bill flipped the script to an abundance mindset, going full circle to this past week.
The story turned into an important lesson life taught me about money, reactions and responses to unplanned events.
The story is the lesson.

In this solo episode, I want to share a story with you about some of the darker days I experienced when I was a business owner and book publisher.
I had made decisions about purposely leaving financial stones unturned which caused immense stress and sleepless nights.
One morning, I looked at the reflection in the mirror and said something to the bloated, distressed man staring back at me and suddenly everything changed.
I want to let you in on this state hack I discovered that helped me regulate and become more mature in my decision making process.

In this new solo episode, I explore the meaning we give to "giving up". Often we associate giving up with failure, fear, loss and we tend to get hard on ourselves.
What if we changed our perspective?
What if giving up meant surrendering the pursuit that does not serve your life anymore?
What if giving up meant shifting gears and starting something new that lights you up and generates a fire under your feet so powerful that you are ready to embark on a new adventure that will serve you and get you closer to what it is you really, really want for your life?
That is the essence of becoming a weathercock.
But... do not confuse the word surrender with quit... that's a whole other concept, I will give you my thoughts on that too.

In this episode, Nicole talks about the long process of how she fell in love with herself. The limiting beliefs she had to overcome, the comparison game and the steps she took to live fully/completely in her body. She also talks to us about how women shouldn't live in shame of their sexuality and how they should enjoy that part of themselves.

American scientist and philosopher Alfred Korzybski said " the map is not the territory"
which basically means that our percieved reality is in fact often not reality.
You can also translate this as planning and preparing but when actually put into action you will need to adapt as not all things will go as planned no matter how prepared you are. Hence "the map is not the territory" theory.
This melted my mind when I learned about it and in this episode I share with you a story that happened to me in my early twenties on a first ever trip alone to Los Angeles, what happened and how it all connects to my present life.
In the end it's all learning and growing and now understanding how to better adapt.

Here I unpack on how the Weathercock concept came to me and why I believe it is a great strategy to adopt and keep you curious so that you are more open to explore, experiment and discover all of the possibilities and opportunities waiting around the corner for you.
I also touch on my fulfillment vs achievement, changing your mind as often as you like, following trends and starting over as many times as you need as long as you do not stop pursuing something new!
