In this Quiet Time Meditation, Pastor Joe challenged us to intentionally and joyfully submit ourselves to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

He offered four Godward-focused, simply-stated, biblically-rooted, intentionally-memorable prayer requests to guide our prayers: (1) Pray for GOD'S WILL (Matt 6:9-10); (2) Pray for GOD'S WORD (Col 4:2-4; 2 Thess 3:2); (3) Pray for GOD'S WORKERS (Matt 9:36-38); and (4) Pray for GOD'S WISDOM (Jam 1:5-8).
Pastor Joe concluded our Christmas series with the fourth and final of these special messages for Christmas. In this next message, he explained that there are three key truths that should inform our thinking concerning Christ's ministry as the Shepherd of our souls (seen in the text of Psalm 23): (1) The Shepherd PROVIDES FOR His own; (2) The Shepherd PROTECTS His own; and (3) The Shepherd LEADS His own.
Pastor Joe continued our Christmas series with the third of four special messages for this Christmas season. In this next message, he explained that there are three personal implications and applications of Christ's coming as King (seen plainly in Isaiah 6): (1) The King deserves your WORSHIP; (2) The King defines your FEAR; and (3) The King demands your OBEDIENCE.

In this introductory message, he explained that the Christmas story is astounding on at least three levels: (1) The HISTORIC level; (2) The HUMAN level; and (3) The THEOLOGICAL level. What a glorious truth it is that: Jesus came to save!

At the same time, He told His followers not to fear, and He gave us good, solid reasons for confidence in the midst of trials suffered for the sake of His name.

Psalm 145 calls us to: (1) Give thanks for God's GREATNESS; (2) Give thanks for God's GOODNESS; (3) Give thanks for God's POWER; and (4) Give thanks for God's KINDNESS. What a fitting meditation for this time of year!

In this Quiet Time Meditation, Pastor Joe zeroed in on the final verses of the Sermon on the Mount and reminded us that: (1) HEARING is not OBEYING, and (2) AMAZEMENT is not CONVERSION. In the end, we saw that: We can only work out our on salvation as God works in us both to want and to do what pleases Him.
This was the next sermon in our regular Sunday series from Genesis. It was a sermon entitled "Covenant Promises" (from Genesis 8:20-9:17) that called us to wrestle with three big ideas... (1) A Striking CONTRAST, (2) A Repeated COMMAND, (3) A Sobering CORRECTIVE, and (4) A Reminder of the COVENANT. At the end of the day, the goal was to encourage us all with the truth that: We serve the sovereign One Who still reigns, Who still remembers, and Who is still keeping every word of every promise He has ever made!
In this Quiet Time Meditation, Pastor Joe finished his challenge for us to wrestle hard with some of the most misused and abused words in Scripture: "Judge not."

We were challenged to believe and live in light of the truth of Who God is and what He has promised rather than seeking our own reward here on earth too soon and from the wrong people.

This is a God-glorifying response that silences the way our fallen hearts tend to react when life does not go our way.
