Today’s millennial word of the day is ‘beekeeping age’ — the Gen Z way of saying ‘silver fox’ or ‘zaddy.’

A light driveway dump brings you things that seemed SO embarrassing in grade school that just aren’t anymore. If you ever had to blow your nose in public — ew! — wear white socks to school — gasp! — or were totally out of the TV show loop, you can probably relate.

With a title still to be determined, this next segment is an opportunity to celebrate the little, low-lift luxuries in life. Typology is making Lizz feel fancy and Kelly is loving showering with the lights out and just a candle lit.

Musk moments goes marriage this week as Kelly and Lizz discuss how to be on your phone less, start conversations with your partner, and micro date to mix things up.

Maddie recently decided to get YouTube TV to watch football this season. Sure, great, but Lizz is looking to cut back on subscriptions they aren’t using to pay for the new one. It’s Lizz’s last week of maternity leave, so she’s playing passenger princess today while Kelly takes the wheel. This episode is packed with birthday embarrassment, a big dill taste drive, and more listener icks.

→ If you’re a Mitsubishi girlie, head over to Apple Podcasts, leave a five star review for the show, shout out your ride, and tell us what you love about listening to The Carpool!

To kick things off, today’s millennial word of the day is ‘rat girl summer.’ If you’re into lurking, snacking, and embracing your rodent energy — this is for you. Kelly will take her hot girl spray tan and iced coffee over rat girl summer any day.

Kelly’s 30th birthday pool party made the Margaritas go down a little too smooth and caused the gals a bit of hangxiety. On the bright side, Lizz’s ice shot glasses and the Alpaca Picnic were both a hit. In her driveway dump, Kelly also shares her take on slicked back hairstyles, toxic messy bun tutorials and the overuse of ‘AI.’

Hidden Valley Ranch with pickle flavored ranch and Spritz Society’s canned cocktail collab with Clausen are featured in today’s taste drive. Kelly and Lizz both agree, Seltzer taste tests need to make a comeback on the Carpool.

Listener icks this week include adults using the ‘little girls room’, sleeping with your childhood blankie, and grown men with towels around their waist. Kelly and Lizz add their most embarrassing moments to the mix.

In industry news Mazda’s new SUV, the 2024 CX 90, has a little more oomph and is available as a plug-in hybrid. Lizz says she’d give this ride a chance since it has 490 miles between a full charge and a full tank of gas (which she hates filling up). The Mitsubishi Mirage is the last new car with an average purchase price below $20K. And In July, Americans paid, on average, $48K for a new vehicle.

Sardines are it and listener Genevieve is here to confirm. She’s sending Lizz and Kelly over to Trader Joes to get the best of the best — packed in olive oil, skinless, and boneless. Genevieve shares her tips and tricks to eating them right on toast or broiled with cheese to make a sardine melt. A second ditch the drive-through from Kay, the California Skillet, follows a quick question: is it safe to use an expired car seat in the stroller?

→ Hey Highlander drivers! Whether you drive a Grand or non-Grand Toyota Highlander Kelly and Lizz would love to hear from you in the Carpool podcast reviews!

Can Kelly guess what today’s Millennial word means? The acronym ‘IJBOL’ is here to replace lol and lmao but both gals agree they’ll always be lol-girlies.

In today’s last three transactions, Lizz ordered a new couch cover from Nolan Interiors, shot glass ice molds for Kelly’s birthday celebration, and zip-up storage boxes for her linens. Kelly bought herself new birthday sneakers (the Adidas Sambas), a nap mat for George, and made an H&M haul for Hattie and Fred.  Do you know what you’re spending every month on subscriptions? George is starting school and Kelly is leaving Blippi days behind to become a kid mom. Lizz is wondering what else Kelly got up to when she wasn’t around to monitor activities for the Car Mom Auto Show.

→Do you drive a Cadillac Escalade? It’s your turn to sound off in the Carpool reviews. Leave Kelly and Lizz a five star review and share what you think of the show!

Passenger princess is today’s millennial word of the day. Lizz is Kelly’s passenger princess—in charge of snacks, radio, and looking cute—while Kelly rarely gets the chance with Tyler since he has such an attachment to bringing his tool-filled truck everywhere they go.

A jam-packed dumpity do dah includes a Suntrip family vacay recap. Spoiler alert: having babies at the lake isn’t ideal, especially when the mom’s get sick. Kelly predicted tuna as the next ‘it’ food, but it turns out it’s sardines. And if that’s a part of your next girl dinner, you can thank her for it. Speaking of all things girly — Kelly and Lizz talk girl math and how to get free meals and make money while you shop. Both gals are over threads, content gatekeeping, and reels with descriptions you have to read. On the upside of social media, Kelly is popping off on Tik Tok and has found the Swifty side.

Lover as a nickname, inspirational quotes with selfies on social media, and grown men kick off today’s listener icks. Kelly and Lizz debate which semi-formal and formal occasions are okay to wear your Apple watch to, and which pregnancy-related icks they can relate to.

A Carpool listener writes in for advice on turning down hand-me-downs as a people pleaser and another asks if she should wait until the 2024 body style is released to buy a Kia Sorento.

In industry news the ‘24 Hyundai Santa Fe third row math ain’t mathin’, the 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ has 55 inches worth of screen, and Ford is launching it’s Blue Cruise feature with a subscription model.

Sarah is doing the most for today’s ditch the drive-through with a reminder about the magic of convenient deli salads like chicken and egg salad for lunch or dinner. And as fall arrives, a shepherd’s pie never hurt anybody. This delicious casserole is a sneaky way to get veggies into the whole family

Back from family vacation, Mattie joins his award-winning wife, Lizz, on the show today to review their first seven weeks of parenting complete with poopy diaper highlights.

→ Today’s your day Dodge RAM 1500 drivers. Sound off in the Carpool Podcast’s reviews on Apple Podcasts. Let the gals know what you thought of Mattie on the pod!

JOMO is the new spin on FOMO and it’s today’s millennial word of the day.

Lizz is prepared for a new dad Q&A where Mattie reveals if parenting is easier or harder than he thought, the best part of being a dad, and what has him low-key embarrassed of his gender. He also shares about his logical dad talks that James is not having, how his bluetooth headphones have been a dad-life game changer, and how he likes to hype James for his dirty diapers.

Going head to head in the great eight of baby products today are the Mockingbird Stroller, Clek car seat, Wubbanub animal pacifiers, Ollie Swaddles, zipper sleepers, the baby carrier, 4moms swing, and The Hatch. The winner is a unanimous choice that Lizz and Mattie couldn’t live without.

Trader Joe’s five items or less on Instagram is dishing out today’s ditch the drive-through, a chicken sausage sheet pan dinner. And to wrap up the episode, Mattie comes in with the hard-hitting fatherly advice on what to do with grandparent jealousy.

The Stumpe family vacation planning is in the works, and Chris (mom) is doing the most. Craig’s (dad’s) birthday agenda is full of morning coffee talk, breakfast, pilates practice, nap gaps, and a dress-up-like dad extravaganza. Follow Kelly and Lizz on Instagram for the hilarious highlights!

Today’s millennial word of the day is ‘core’ which defines an aesthetic or vibe such as Barbie core, cottage core, Car Mom core, or Craig core.

Kelly will be thriving and not just surviving family vacation travel with the kids. Her last transaction was an Amazon shop for road trip activities planned out with coordinated toys that you can find on her storefront list here. Lizz is shopping at Athleta and Lulu for new shorts and tops that actually fit and hit Carters for a new pair of PJs for baby James. Kelly bought the pickle flavored Spritz for a future taste test and Lizz is in love with her new Divvy shampoo and conditioner.

We’re all just a little icky— and that’s okay. Today’s listener icks include adults calling each other mama, moms saying things like ‘I’ve got four under four’ as if it’s a contest for who has the harder life, singing happy birthday to adults (unanimously icky), and clipping your nails at work.

In industry news, the 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser is returning to America smaller and resembling the 2024 Lexus GX. Elon is giving Kanye with his move to rename Twitter ‘X.’ And the Car Mom is officially driving a minivan

Stop throwing away money, cancel unwanted subscriptions, and manage your expenses the easy way with Rocket Money—today’s episode sponsor. Most Americans think they’re spending about $80 a month on subscriptions. But did you know that the actual cost is closer to $200? If you don't know exactly how much you're spending every month, you need the Rocket Money app to monitor your spending and help you lower your bills—all in one, easy-to-use place.

Lizz finally gets the Carpool hype, Kelly has something shocking to get off her chest, and the great eight makes a return on today’s episode.

→If you drive a BMW X3 it’s your turn to show up in The Carpool Podcast reviews. Share your ride and rating over in Apple Podcasts!

Did we all not know this had a name? Today’s millennial word of the day, girl dinner, is going viral. Kelly and Lizz’s favorite no-cooking (or not-much-cooking) required dinners include tortilla’s with PB&J and salami with cream cheese and pickles.

Once the Fourth of July passes, is it time for Halloween? Lizz says no way. It’s too hot to be looking at pumpkins. And Kelly chimes in about inauthentic holidays on today’s driveway dumps. Baby James has a bit of baby acne and dandruff, so Lizz has Tubby Todd’s Bye-Bye Cradle Cap on order, Kelly is loving laughing at the same mom things with Lizz, and Mattie is putting a cramp in the family photo scheduling with a black eye from rugby. Last, but certainly the most, postpartum Kelly is in LOVE with her new Ahleta Boundless shorts.

The gals are ready to crown a winner in the great eight of things you get to do when you’re not pregnant. Up for the win are: laying on your stomach, having a drink, putting on your socks and shoes, being able to hug your husband again, the post-shower towel wrap, getting down and up off the floor, not having to pee every five seconds, and fitting into your clothes again.    In industry news EVs are feeling the heat wave, losing capacity, and raising questions about the longevity of their batteries. Ford attributes price drops on their Lightning trucks to cost-of-supplies decreases, but Kelly thinks otherwise.

→ Grab your Car Mom Auto Show tickets over at thecarmomofficial.com and join Kelly and Lizz September 10th for a fantastic family friendly event!

An iconic listen submission has arrived for today’s ditch the drive-through: KFC, but at home. Grab a bowl and fill it up with your favorite popcorn chicken, mashed potatoes, and corn then top it with brown gravy. Mouth. Watering.

Kelly and Lizz are ready to wrap up summer poolside with several family vacations in the works, a 60th birthday for dad and a kid-free 30th for Kelly.

A listener writes in with today’s millennial word of the day ‘me-coded.’

Don’t underestimate how far a little meal prep can go. Kelly shares her driveway dump that kicks off with how marinating chicken and chopping veggies while you’re already getting the kitchen dirty is absolutely genius. She’s all about making throwing dinner together a little easier and wonders what the next food-of-the-moment making a splash on the dinner scene will be. Tuna? Hard boiled eggs? The jury’s out.

Meanwhile, Lizz is filling her Instagram stories with silly goose reels. If you’re not following her on IG and laughing along, what are you waiting for?

Today’s episode is brought to you by Zocdoc. Have you ever gone down a reels rabbit hole where you find yourself trusting strangers on the internet for health advice? → Write in your icks and ask for advice! Send Kelly and Lizz an email to get your question featured on the show at hello@thecarmomofficial.com

In industry news the new Hyundai Santa Fé is giving Lexus GX, Land Rover, and EV vibes. Kelly isn’t ready to call it too futuristic, but the gals are a bit shocked. Lizz gives her take on the new Traverse and Kelly updates us on the new Atlas upgrades including a turbocharged 4 cylinder and ventilated seats. The gals love the luxe updates, but are not thrilled they’ve removed all buttons from the dash and steering wheel controls.

→ Hey Hyundai Santa Fé drivers!! what do you think of the carpool podcast and the new Santa Fé features? Sound off in the Carpool Podcast reviews on Apple Podcasts!

Barbie might be making headlines but today’s episode is hosted by Brats girlie Kelly and the show’s first non-husband guest co-host, Polly Pocket girlie Ashley. This duo has been transacting, wardrobe purging, making the most of mom life — and they’re ready to share all.

Attention Buick SUV mamas! Sound off in your Carpool Podcast reviews this week and let us know what you loved about today’s co-host while you’re there!

Ashley brings today’s millennial word of the day from her social scrolling: feminine era. This is when you’re in an LTR and have someone to help you do the heavy lifting.

Ashley has been putting together the most darling mom-fits over on @realactuallyashley and Kelly is a stan. Biker shorts and a dress? Say less. The gals rave about buying the proper size clothes to create more comfort and grabbing a girlfriend to clean your closets out together.

Gym, shower, makeup, ‘get ready with me’ on IG stories, hair, and outfit kick off most of Ashley’s days, but even as a makeup artist, she isn’t judging anyone who doesn’t put a full face of makeup on every morning. She’s simply here to champion every woman doing what she needs to have a better day and wholeheartedly believes you should let your clothes make your body look better instead of making your body look better to fit into your clothes.

In today’s last three transactions segment, Ashley reveals she took the leap and bought her kids tablets she may have to save until Christmas, grabbed makeup erasers and Bento Boxes on prime day, and made a grocery order for her ‘cut.’ Kelly hit Athleta’s semi-annual sale, ordered an ugly t-shirt for her family’s vacation secret santa, and made a Costco haul complete with dinners for Lizz.

BBQ chicken without the grill is today’s ditch the drive-through.

→ To share your ditch the drive-through recipe with us, call (959) CAR-POOL and leave us a message!

Wrapping up today’s episode with industry news, Ford's Electric Mustang Mach E is piling up on dealer's lots, Porsche is expanding its Apple Car Play integration, and the new Buick Invista is giving sporty lux vibes and topping out at $28K.

She even shares her teen’s response to GM’s teen driver feature, app to monitor her teen’s driving, and the driver report card.

Kelly picks Tricia’s brain about her autonomous vehicles predictions, hopes, and fears before diving into her ‘would you rather’ of car comfort features. Listen in to hear what she’d choose out of: heated seats vs ventilated seats, heated seats vs heated steering wheel, Apple Car Play vs panoramic sunroof, and the power tailgate vs keyless entry.

The Carpool podcast equals mini brands — you never know what you’re going to get. Today the most educated of the Suntrup clan, Sydney, joins Kelly and Lizz for a jam packed episode now that she has her life back from rowing.

Straight from the Gen Z source, today’s millennial phrase of the day is, “Double it and give it to the next person,” inspired by a viral TikTok trend. Sydney also shares her last three emojis — heart hands, a farmer, and (thanks to The Bear show) a chef.

Guilty pleasures dominate today’s driveway dump. Kelly’s reading True Biz and bingeing @hintofnattyp, Lizz is loving happy dances from @kellye.essentials, and Sydney is loving awkward OTDs on Tik Tok.

Stop throwing away money, cancel unwanted subscriptions, and manage your expenses the easy way with Rocket Money—today’s episode sponsor. Kelly is sharing a behind the scenes of the biz to kick off industry news today — The Car Mom domain now belongs to its rightful owner. The Mazda CX9 is officially being discontinued and will be replaced by the CX90. Sydney shares her dream car to wrap up the segment.

Kelly and Lizz are back on the mic with babes in tow and on the teet. Get ready for Lizz’s birth story, a newborn report, and an update on how the mom ‘Carpool’ is going for the St. Johns.

CALLING ALL JAMES MAMAS: Kelly and Lizz are mixing it up! If you have a baby named James show up in the Carpool Podcast reviews and give your babe a shout out.

Lizz’s labor started out subtle, but had her panicking in a hurry—about her messy house of course. At a routine weekly appointment she found out she was already dilating, but wasn’t having a stitch of contractions. The nurses were frankly no help in figuring out what was a big deal and how quickly to expect things to progress. Kelly votes for better delivery and a bit more sensitivity from the medical pros.

Mattie was at work, so Mama Stoupe stepped in to keep Lizz company and later hosted the expecting couple for the night closer to the hospital.

Lizz started having contractions throughout the next day while Mattie was at work and as they intensified they decided to head to the hospital.

Spoiler alert: back labor ahead!

Lizz opted for the epidural and pitocin and was cheered on by a birth team who said she’d have a quick 45 minutes of pushing before she met her baby. Not so! She finally made progress through back labor, epidural adjustments, and a variety of birthing positions, giving birth to baby James after 4 hours of pushing!

Baby James was born 7lb 130z, 22 inches long, and is absolutely perfect.

Lizz shares her favorite newborn and mama products, first by championing simplicity: your baby doesn't need anything except jammies, swaddlers, pacifiers, diapers, wipes, bottles, and a bassinet. Her top two newborn baby products are the Copper Pearl Baby Gowns and Newton Bassinet.

The first thing moms need postpartum is a ton of breastfeeding bras. Kelly and Lizz are both obsessed with The Bodily Everything Bra. And to keep the milk flowing, Lizz is grabbing her Stanley 64oz.

The Chomps inspired taste drive is protein-packed, featuring a variety of whole 30 approved, free-range, grass-fed, non-GMO meat sticks that each contain 9-10 grams of protein. Kelly and Lizz try the original beef, jalapeño beef, Italian beef, salt and pepper with venison, turkey, and pepperoni turkey flavors.

George is officially The Car Kid, Kelly just wants to be athleisure comfy, and Lizz has another baby name clue to drop!

A Gen Z trend takes over today’s Millennial word of the day, the ‘wrong shoe theory.’ Stretch your imagination and boundaries this summer with Gladiators and Adidas Sambas that don’t make sense. And if people don’t get it—that’s their problem.

Mo News headlines Kelly’s driveway dump with a report on the most popular and rarest birthdays. She also shares her laundry-by-location hack and day-delegation strategy that is saving her sanity.

Today’s all-episode-long taste drive is the new Starburst-style ‘blow pops.’ Can Lizz finish hers before the end of the episode to report back?

Lizz brings a couple of loaded car questions from listeners for The Car Mom. One mom with two rear-facing kiddos is looking to upgrade from a Honda Pilot to a Honda Odyssey and wonders if she should shop new, used, or wait and another writes in to hear what Kelly thinks about the Kia Sorento hybrid.

Apple’s WWDC ‘23 brings a lackluster Apple Carplay Update that is barely worth mentioning on today’s industry news. And Kelly would like to know why electric car names are so bad? Honda is unhinged and their competitors aren’t far behind.

→ Do you drive a moronically named EV? Then it’s your turn to drop a five star review for the podcast! Let Kelly and Lizz know if you love your car and its name when you do!

Ditch the drive-through features one of Lizz’s favorite summer meals that listener Hannah wrote in to share, Pasta Con Broccoli.

Late night nursing scrolls will ruin your bank account — according to Kelly — and Lizz should be prepared. The mama-to-be shares about her postpartum nerves and countdown to baby to kick off today’s episode.

→ Review shout out! If you or your husband are a GMC Sierra driver, sound off in the Apple Podcast reviews. The gals will be looking for you!

For the first time, Kelly absolutely nails the millennial word of the day, “sending me.”

Kelly can’t believe she’s sharing the most embarrassing NASCAR story ever on today’s driveway dumps. Her Suite Life of Zack and Cody experience did not disappoint and the NASCAR race was a top ten family friendly day where she also met comedian and influencer Jalen Hinton. Reel talk with Lizz gives a shout out to the hilarious Entitled Housewife.

Shout out to listener Sarah for the most iconic great eight theme, millennial school dance songs. The songs on Kelly and Lizz’s unhinged playlist for the great eight are: Get Low, Soldier Boy, Hot in Here, Hollaback Girl, Laffy Taffy, My Humps, Don’t Stop Believing, and Temperature.

Lizz gets her favorite advice question ever on today’s advice segment where she and Kelly get to pick car-related baby names for a listener. In case you were wondering too, here’s where you can find those Nuuds pajamas and no, Kelly doesn’t have a code for Pura yet, but she’s working on it! And last, Kelly shares how she would keep kids cool in the back of a 2013 CRV with the Noggle, an after-market remote start, and The Little Bum Cooler.

If you’re raising little gen Alphas, you won’t want to miss this star-studded episode with Suzie from Busy Toddler — the chef of toddler activities.

→ You can find the Busy Toddler home preschool program with a full year of lesson plans for just $40 — far less than the cost of preschool for a year — here.

Expand your vocabulary with today’s millennial abbreviation of the day, TFW. This Gen Z slang means ‘that feeling when.’

Kelly and Lizz dive into Suzie’s journey from Daniel Tiger marathons to simple, low-cost activities her toddler could do on his own while she sipped her coffee. Suzie shares her hindsight parenting wisdom and a ‘take a breath and say yes moment’ that has the gals asking, “Will Busy Toddler’s next frontier be sleeping boxes for kids?” The gals reminisce about the good old days of chronological social media feeds and their Tik Tok aversions.

→ REVIEW SHOUTOUT: Hey, Yukon drivers! whether your doors work or don’t work (like Suzie’s) Kelly and Lizz would love to hear from you. Sound off in the Apple Podcasts reviews and remember to share about your ride when you do!

The great eight of Busy Toddler brings a shocking winner that Lizz just doesn’t get — yet. Featured in today’s segment are popsicle baths, painting toys, washing toys, the cutting bin, color baths, toy parades, toy rescue, and the baking soda bin (aka stinky bubbles).

Today’s episode is sponsored by Rocket Money, formerly known as Truebill. Suzie’s last three transactions brings the super cute Boden swimsuits into Kelly and Lizz’s world and includes an upgrade to her camera equipment as well as a dad joke book for her kids to celebrate their dad on father’s day.

Industry news inspires questions about Toyota’s plan for the Grand Highlander to take over more of the Toyota market. But Kelly wonders if this is a ‘17 varieties of Hidden Valley Ranch’ situation. Also in headlines this week is the world’s best selling car from Q1…and its boring runner up.

Suzie shares the meal her family still makes to this day — the iconic steak and spaghetti — for today’s ditch the drive through dinner.

Today’s millennial word of the day, the ick, can be summarized by how repulsed Kelly is by seeing husbands in Christmas pajamas.

Making a smooth segue into Kelly and Lizz’s driveway dumps, you can get your belly laugh and a half for the day, with a side of ick, watching Camp Rock clips. Kelly recommends tuning into the top ten cringiest Camp Rock moments. The gals discuss the difference between achievement entrepreneurs and lifestyle entrepreneurs, how it might be easier to make money than it is to save it, and Lizz recaps her baby class with Mattie.

Memorial day sales were giving Black Friday, and Kelly and Lizz’s last three transactions are here to prove it. Kelly snagged her favorite Bath and Body Works candles on super sale and didn’t let her sisters know—yikes! She’s also stocked up on Prodoh kids for George and is getting ready for reels with new filming studio lights. Lizz is preparing for postpartum with a Athleta/Gap haul, Free People Hot Shot Onesie, and a Nintendo Switch to enjoy Mario with Mattie on maternity leave.

Halloween feels like it was yesterday, but Lizz is already decking the halls, Kelly is prepping a 3-foot tree for George and Hattie's room, and Tyler the Grinch is no help. Today, the gals take a moment to get ready for Thanksgiving, though.  Today's great eight brings you all the Thanksgiving vibes: a cocktail, cheese board, and kitchen gossip; meal prep and the parade; a post-Turkey-Trot donut; pumpkin pie and decaf; Black Friday and Cyber Monday shopping; Friday leftovers, letting your Christmas flag fly guilt-free; and an after-meal nap with football in the background. Today's millennial word of the day brings you 'rizz' 2.0 from a Gen Z family friend who has Kelly and Lizz's back. Kelly shares her thoughts on the TSA sock-check — aka you should always be prepared to take your shoes off — and where she's found her new favorite boot socks. The satisfaction of using up and pulling 'empties' and clearing Christmas clutter round out the segment.  You don't want to be talking politics with your uncles and aunts this Thanksgiving, so why not talk auto and shake hands after? Kelly and Lizz, sans guests, have a LOT to catch you up on today. Kell is feeling super pregnant, is looking forward to the holidays, and will be doing a lot of hand washing and saying her prayers to keep her and the baby healthy into the new year.  Did today's millennial word start with drag queens? In any case, 'wig,' as in, 'I was so shocked my wig fell off,' is just another bit of Gen Z slang that the gals will not be using.  Kelly's driveway dump features Alexa timer parenting, teaching your kids to be polite to robots, and how she plans to make her hospital stay a super cozy spa time with her new baby. The gals discuss when the Christmas tree will go up, and Kelly gets jazzed about the yard blow-up she's sneaking into her outdoor decor. Her excitement spills over to kitten heels making a comeback. To wrap up the segment, Kelly shares a little rant about giving credit for vague advice. Minivan mom Megan writes in on today's advice segment looking for a spacious recommendation for her family. Kelly explores this mama's many options, including another minivan for the teens and a sleeker Expedition or Tahoe for herself.  In industry news, EV registrations through September are up 57% in the US. Volvo is releasing a new three-row SUV EV. The EX 90 will be under $80,000 and will launch in 2024. The car is said to be safer than any Volvo car to come before it. The queen herself and the Carpool’s most iconic guest, Car Grandma Kris, returns for a family-packed episode with Kelly and Lizz.  ‘Guap’ — not guac — is today’s millennial word of the day. And while Kelly and Lizz don’t need to be ‘coutin’ their guap,’ at least they now know Gen Zers are talking about their cash-money, not an add-on to their Chipotle bowl.  A love and wisdom-filled Q&A with today’s guest brings you all the secrets to life, love, and aging in reverse. Kris shares where you can find the fountain of youth on your local Trader Joe’s shelves and names one of her favorite products for achieving a little glow every day. Kelly and Lizz also ask their mom about her current ride, how she met their dad, and how she juggled raising five kids along with the rest of life. You won’t want to miss her sage parenting, marriage, and holiday planning advice. The Car Grandma also joins Kelly and Lizz for a special taste drive of Mom Water. Mom Water sponsors today’s test drive, sending over their iconic, fun, and refreshing drinks for the gals to sip (and spit, in Kelly’s case). Lizz and Mattie's first suburban Halloween might have been a bummer, but Lizz is back, and the gals are ready to show up and show out. Kelly and Lizz bring a millennial word of the day that is hot off the press: 'rizz.' Mom-owned business Drink Mixy is another fabulous sponsor of today's episode (and a huge Car Mom fan). These mason jar kits infuse dried fruits, sugar, and other pre-prepared ingredients so you can make alcoholic or non-alcoholic craft cocktails at home without all the work. Kelly and Lizz are making sassy sister Halloween plans and spilling the tea on the 2023 Kila Telluride event on today’s episode of The Carpool Podcast.  Killing it is out, and ‘ate that’ is in on today’s millennial word of the day. And the gals definitely ‘ate’ the new Car Mom car buying course. This course has been in the works for ages and is finally ready for The Car Mom crew. Today’s episode sponsor is thecarmomofficial.com, where you can now grab your copy of the course and get to buying. Inside you’ll find absolutely everything you need to know about the car-buying process. Kelly and Lizz dub San Antonio, Texas c-u-u-u-t-e and have only positive things to say about their stay at the Hotel Emma. Goat cheese, fennel, and rosemary were everywhere, and Kelly was all about seconds. The 2023 Telluride has a handful of exterior updates, and the gals share their take on how Kia rolls out new models year after year.  Kelly brings a click monster of an article to discuss titled, “Stylists reveal 14 items from your 2022 wardrobe that you should get rid of,” from Insider. From headbands to high-waisted pants, the article doubles down on styles Kelly and Lizz thought were just coming back. Moral of the story: Love your body, love what you’re wearing, and love the way you’re made. In today’s advice segment, Kelly directs a listener to Gap to find a cute holiday outfit for her little guy. Kelly’s driveway dump brings you slippers galore and a star-studded, hilarious, and wholesome movie recommendation: What to Expect When You’re Expecting. In industry news, a Toyota Grand Highlander has been spotted in Michigan, and it’s giving minivan. Jeep wants help naming their all-new electric Wagoneer SUV, codenamed Wagoneer S, for speed.  Diane from Kentucky calls in with today’s ditch the drive-through and shares a quick and easy quiche that’s perfect for heating up during the week.  Blake’s Besties honors Nicolette, who lost three babies this year: Primrose, Paul, Emma, and Paige, who lost her daughter Heiden Adelle in September at 17 weeks. Kelly and Lizz extend a huge thank you to all the amazing moms who wrote in and shared their stories. They’ve read them all, they’re with you, and will be praying for you! Little cutie Corbin, who’s now a Carpool star, kicks off today’s episode, which is packed with the segments you know and love. “Big brain” is today’s millennial word of the day, as in, Tik Tok is small brain, and IG is big brain. 90’s throwbacks from the driveway diaries include bubbles you could eat and silk accessory scarves that are coming back hot. Kelly also clears up all the confusion surrounding the two-ingredient pumpkin muffin recipe.  The great eight of children’s cereal — Kelly and Lizz’s favorite nightcap — is here. Cocoa Puffs, Cocoa Pebbles, Fruit Loops, Lucky Charms, Cookie Crisp, Reese’s Puffs, Captain Crunch, and Trix are going head to head. Cereal connoisseur and Stumpe sibling Craig joins the gals for a tiebreaker.  Kelly raves about her favorite Edmunds.com tools that make car shopping so easy — a hat tip to the fantastic sponsor of today’s industry news. Kelly’s favorite tools are the comparison tool for a side-by-side comparison of four vehicles, the price checker tool for comparing car prices in your area, and the appraisal tool that shows you what your car is worth in minutes.  The Acura ZDX collab with General motors is giving precision EV essence, and Mercedes is expanding its crossover lineup with the ugliest car Kelly’s ever seen in her life, the EQE. Industry news also brings a report of the Rivian R1T recall repair process that affected 12,000 vehicles. How long did the inspection and repair take? Listen in to find out. Ditch the drive-through sweet chili salmon from Kelly and Lizz’s new favorite Instagrammer: Trader Joe’s Five Items or Less. Run, don’t walk to @traderjoes5itemsorless There’s no fear or guilt, just gratitude on today’s Blake’s Besties segment. Today, we’re remembering Cooper James, who turned his mom into a ketchup lover, Noa — Courtney’s baby who just got their special name, and Greyson, who had his mama inhaling jars of pickles through her 17 weeks of pregnancy.  Share your sweet, fun, and funny ‘gone too soon’ baby memories with us, and we’ll read them on the show at hello@thecarmomofficial.com Today’s episode is brought to you by Athletic Greens. Does a Carpool episode exist that is not absolutely jam-packed? Absolutely not. In today’s episode, Jessica from Edmunds spills some car industry tea in a special interview segment, Kelly defends her podcast one-liners, and Grayson brings us the millennial word of the day “boxed.” Kelly’s driveway diaries are full of curiosity. With a dash of sass, the gals explore: Where are the baby shark kids now? Has anyone checked with North Face about their fanny packs? And why is the value of an IG follower more than the value of a TikTok follower?  Lizz shares about her smashing success with her latest new-construction home improvement project, understandably brags about her Facebook Marketplace finds, and shares a bit of a warning about clicking random listings that could lead down an algorithm rabbit hole. What’s happening in the car market that isn’t getting enough attention? Edmunds’ Executive Director of Insights, Jessica, is here to tell all. To top off the interview, Jessica brings us today’s ditch the drive-through: salmon in the air fryer. Be sure to check out Edmunds’ leasing calculator, loan payment calculator, and incentives search feature mentioned in today’s show.  To share your ditch the drive-through recipe with us, call (959) CAR-POOL and leave us a message! Kelly and Lizz give A+ advice to a listener on what to wear to a dressy casual wedding at a winery brewery. This is a tricky one, and the gals truly bring it.  Want our advice on your next car (or just got a life question for us)? Shoot us an email for a chance to get your questions featured on the show at hello@thecarmomofficial.com Blake’s Besties today honors baby Johnston (18 weeks) with Janelle, who loved their solo sunrize moments. Their family eats each baby’s favorite foods once a month to remember their little loves.  Share your sweet, fun, and funny ‘gone too soon’ baby memories with us, and we’ll read them on the show at hello@thecarmomofficial.com Today’s episode is brought to you by Athletic Greens. Kelly feels 99-years-old testing out today’s millennial word — fade — followed by perusing a J14 magazine complete with quizzes, horoscopes, and first-date advice.  Deux cookie dough from Shark Tank stars in today’s taste drive. Three gluten-free, vegan flavors go head to head: pink frosting, brownie batter, and smores. Which flavors will get the fade, and which one will win Carpool approval?  Driveway dump is now driveway diaries where Kelly brings you her hopes, dreams, and fears. Today, she’s got a chicken salad update, Patreon celeb drama to report on, and Lizz is concerned about Kelly’s Bethany Frankel ‘can’t-look-away’ obsession. Carvana, the ‘pick me’ girl of the auto industry, gets their dealership license suspended in Michigan. Rivian just recalled nearly every vehicle they’ve made and promises to make repairs in pop-up tents. And the most popular used car paint color in the US is revealed in today’s industry news.  Blake’s besties are here for Pregnancy Infant Loss Awareness Month, honoring Babies Miles Elijah and Red West, who send their mommy butterflies, Melvin Donald (aka Pork Chop) sends his rainbows to say hello, and Zoe May, whose mom shares her story of her angel nurse.  → Share your sweet, fun, and funny memories with us, and we’ll read them on the show at hello@thecarmomofficial.com Today’s ditch the drive-through recipe is ‘pick-ones’ from Lizz, who says to keep mealtime simple and don’t make it such a big deal. Carpool Karaoke, anyone? Kelly and Lizz belt out “Bop To The Top” as they embrace today’s millennial word of the day and kick off a jam-packed episode. Listen in for celebrity biz predictions, holiday vibes, a driveway dump from Kelly, a great eight taste drive gone sour (candy, that is), and more of your Carpool faves.  NOW ON PRESALE and sponsoring today’s episode: Car Mom holiday lights! We all know there’s a time and a place for holiday magnets and it’s every time and everywhere. These cuties are BACK and better than ever. Holiday lights will be shipping out the first week of November so grab yours while they’re still in stock: shopthecarmomofficial.com Kelly’s driveway dump includes predictions of Mogurly Bethany Frankel’s beauty biz future and tips on how to use your kids’ holiday jammies. Then, the gals dive deep into their favorite kind of investigative journalism to bring you today’s great eight: the best (non-chocolate) gas station candy. Contenders for today’s sweet, sour, and fruity taste drive are Sour Patch Kids Watermelon, Haribo Gummy Bears, Sour Punch Straws, Trolli Sour Bite Crawlers Very Berry, Starburst, Momba’s, Skittles, and Nerd Gummy Clusters. Another odd and interesting Elon Musk story is making headlines in industry news as Musk introduces Optimus, a robot who can raise the roof and not much more. Edmunds puts the fuel economy of the EV Ford Lightning, gas-powered Chevy Silverado, diesel RAM 1500, and a hybrid F-150 to the test and Honda launches their new 2024 Prologue, an EV crossover collab with GM.  Lizz takes on the advice segment today to answer a listener’s question about making friends as an adult with an 18-month-old in a new city. Kelly takes the backseat as she’s an ‘I want to be invited but probably won’t come’ kind of girly.  Today on Blake’s Besties (a special segment in honor of pregnancy loss awareness month), we hear a bit more about Rachel’s little one, Blake, and Ria’s baby girl Emma.  Share your sweet, fun, and funny memories with us and we’ll read them on the show at hello@thecarmomofficial.com Wrapping up today’s show is a ditch the drive-through that lets you do THE MOST or the absolute least: Shepherd’s Pie.   To share your ditch the drive-through recipe with us, call (959) CAR-POOL and leave us a message! Is it a vent sesh or another episode of the Carpool pod chock full of all your favorite segments? How about both? Lizz brings the new construction neighborhood news, and Kelly reports on her ‘big trash week’ treasures. Kelly has some things to get off her chest, and the episode wraps with a few heartfelt tears.  Kelly and Lizz’s little sister Sydney came through with the millennial word of the day today: slay. As in, “That’s so slay,” and, “Stay slay forever!”  The gals continue their search for a soda to drink that isn’t soda on the taste drive with the Cola, Cherry Cola, and Dr. Zevia flavors from Zevia. Kelly and Lizz don’t see eye to eye on the reviews but agree that they’d splurge on the Mountain Dew and Grape Soda-inspired flavors to try them, too.  Kelly shares how she’s using Canva to make mood boards for her kids’ rooms and recommends a podcast listen: How I Built This featuring Melanie Perkins, the creator of Canva.  Kelly recaps her lasagna marathon and is excited for her next meal-prep date with a bestie that’ll stock her freezer full of tasty chicken enchiladas. The gals love the new buzz about butter boards, and their chat triggers Kelly’s next pregnancy craving. Lizz adds some Trader Joe’s dinner inspiration to the mix and suggests that everyone follow the fabulous Anna Lisa over at @traderjoes5itemsorless. Industry news today is sponsored by Edmunds. Car shopping can be confusing, especially new car shopping with the current inventory shortages. Things are starting to cool off in the used car market, and Edmonds goes the extra mile to make car buying easier. They have a ton of used car buying resources like car reviews, video test drives, online shopping tools, and the latest consumer advice. Check them out at Edmunds.com  The industry’s anti-slay of the day award goes to Elon Musk, who is claiming that the new Tesla truck will be waterproof enough to serve briefly as a boat. Car and Driver is asking some hard-hitting EV questions and the gals are curious, too: What are fire-fighter concerns about taming an EV fire? Kith partners with BMW on a new line featuring Edward Norton, and the gals dream up a handful of other darling ideas for triad collabs. TRIGGER WARNING: Today’s advice segment speaks about pregnancy loss as October is pregnancy infant loss awareness. The Carpool will support moms in honor of our listener who wrote in and shared about her loss. If you’d like to share your own story for October and Blake’s Besties, shoot us an email with your memories at hello@thecarmomofficial.com Ditch the drive-through today is an oldie but a goodie: Sweet Potato Buffalo Chicken. The recap you’ve been waiting for is HERE! Kelly and Lizz are living their dream come true. It was amazing. Iconic. A movement. A historic event…IT WAS THE CAR MOM AUTO SHOW!!! The auto show setup was an absolute RUSH. The gals share how they got ready for the show and who their MVP team members turned out to be. One amazing Car Mom follower even got put to work (voluntarily!) and became a staple team member of the auto show overnight. Kelly and Lizz reveal which car at the show had the most QR code hits and which one surprised car show-goers.  Attendees lined up at the door before the two o’clock start and came from as far as Seattle, New York, Massachusetts, Florida, and Colorado. The gals are obsessed with the crew who showed up and share what made this show extra special compared to every other audio show they’ve been to.  Today’s Gen Z and Millennial updates include an ‘emo’ inspired phrase of the day and a new trend that Kelly and Lizz are pretty excited about: ballet flats. They both agree the chunky shoe moment was getting out of hand, and they’re ready for these darling shoes to have their time again.  Three quake-worthy industry news stories bring you an exciting update from Hertz rental cars and BP. The companies are teaming up to create an EV charging network — but how will the logistics work?! 40,000 Ford F-150 trucks are stuck in storage and waiting to be ready for sale since they’re missing their blue oval badge, and Volkswagen is creating a vision of the future for travel that will help you sleep on the go.  Ditch the drive-through today comes from Billy in St. Louis. Kelly is sick to her stomach — and it's not the 20-week baby scan that has her tummy in a twist. The Car Mom Auto Show is coming up this Sunday, and the gals are ready, rain or shine. Bring your umbrella and get ready to check out the Honda Odyssey that even the NY Auto Show couldn't snag. 'Busted' makes an appearance as the millennial word of the day. This Gen Z slang is infiltrating today's controversial great eight, now renamed 'the great hate.'  Right now, EVERYTHING from the 2000s is back, and the gals are anticipating…and dreading what's next. Today's great hate features high school and college fashion trends of the 2010s. Thin infinity scarves, the color coral, owls, and chunky necklaces are just a few in the lineup. And wouldn't we all like to know when we're finally going to get our Zenon Girl of the 21st Century space girl vibes instead of these ever-returning trends? CBT News reports major automakers are diving into the metaverse to engage with digital car buyers. Toyota is focusing on its metaverse workspace, and Audi is turning their cars into moving theme parks. Lambo, Mercedes, and Ford are getting into NFTs and other VR technologies, while Subaru and Lexus are busy winning awards for their reputations. Questions have not stopped pouring in about micro-influencing. In today's advice segment, Kelly and Lizz answer a listener's question about moms influencing and showing kids on social media.  Ditch the drive-through comes to you from Shawna in Tennessee. Second summer is heating up today’s episode with a controversial taste drive meets great eight (plus a few extras). An exciting invitation arrives, and ditch the drive-through brings the slow cooker magic and a delicious and healthy dessert. Kelly and Lizz talk about the hard-working food bloggers they could never be.  After deleting TikTok, Lizz has no idea what’s going on with Gen Z, yet she’s scraped the bottom of the barrel for today’s millennial phrase of the day, “take several seats.” If you’re too much, take several seats. In the spirit of Gen Z trends, Kelly and Lizz share the fall fashions they love and are resisting.  An invite arrives for the debut of the 2023 Kia Telluride in San Antonio, Texas and the gals wonder if the EV 9 invite is on its way next. Ford’s CEO is sticking with the V8 manual experience in the new Mustang that debuted recently at the Detroit International Auto Show. How I Built This featured RJ Scaringe recently, and the Rivian story did not disappoint. And to wrap up industry news, the gals share why Toyota isn’t all-in on electric vehicles — and why they aren’t.  The ultimate taste drive and great twelve today is brought to you by listener demand and trolling comments on the ‘gram. The Carpool audience came out swinging for their favorite candy bars, so Kelly and Lizz are doing their due diligence today with just about every other bar you could think of. Was Kelly sleeping on the true winner? Is Lizz just scared for her marriage, or can she be unbiased in her vote? And will the gals de-throne Twix in the end? Oh, the chocolatey drama. Today’s advice segment covers a few handy car-selling tips, and the show wraps with a full ditch the drive-through meal. A listener shares her slow-cooker chicken mushroom stroganoff with peas that looks FIRE, and Lizz shares a healthy PB and chocolate treat from Earthy Andy’s Plant Over Processed. Kelly and Lizz are giving basic and proud of it in this fall-tastic episode! If you're not basic this fall, what's wrong with you?  The gals are providing the $36 service everyone needs right now — a taste drive of the full lineup of Starbucks fall flavors. They're also sharing the one fall thing that has got to go and chatting about their pie baking goals.  Today's millennial word of the day is 'next question.' As in: "Sydney, is there anyone special you'd like to add to the family group chat?" Sydney: "Next question." Kelly and Lizz's last three transactions reveal an Abercrombie haul, an up-and-coming trend purchase at DSW, and Kelly's search for bump-friendly styles. The gals cover a few fall micro-trends, their upcoming color sessions, and how Brown is having a moment. In true crafty fall fashion, Lizz is loving her upcycled pot project, and Kelly is gearing up to make granny squares to crochet baby Stumpe's blanket.  Pioneer Woman's Chicken Tortilla Soup makes an appearance in today's ditch the drive through — and it smacks! Kelly also shares her faux meal planning that she's calling "Meal Vibing."  Industry news is model heavy. Kelly and Lizz report what they love about the new "Equinox" they toured, yet wonder, "If it doesn't look like an Equinox and doesn't act like an Equinox…what makes it an Equinox?" The devil works hard; Jeep works harder as they promise a line of 4 all-electric SUVs by 2025.  To wrap up the episode, Lizz answers a listener's question about home decor, wedding photos, and bouquet preservation.  → To share your ditch the drive-through recipe with us, call (959) CAR-POOL and leave us a message! → Want our advice on your next car (or just got a life question for us)? Just when the gals think there’s nothing to talk about, there’s everything to talk about. Today’s episode kicks off with an often overlooked self-care practice: car washes. Everyone knows a clean car drives better, so plug it into your routine, load up the kids for the wash adventure, and get yourself a car-wash membership.  It’s 2022, and the gals don’t do Mean Girls vibes, but today’s millennial word of the day is the controversial ‘pic me girl.’ As in, Tyler is a pic me girl about his favorite candy bar — which is in the running for the best gas station grab in today’s great eight.  Kelly and Lizz commit a crime and will probably be canceled for their picks in today’s great eight featuring Snickers, Twix, Kit Kats, Reese’s, 3 Musketeers, Hershey’s Cookies and Cream, Peanut M&Ms, and Milk Duds. Their secret candy desires are revealed as the gals crown the ultimate candy bar that’ll help you get your Halloween priorities straight, too.  Micro-influencer business advice is back as Kelly and Lizz share about getting started, keeping it simple, and being social. They encourage anyone wanting to become a micro-influencer to get consistent with stories and reels and share some absolute non-negotiable no’s about influencing on the ‘gram.  → Tag The Carpool on Instagram in your stories and share your successes! Get the Hyundai IONIQ 7 on your radar; the concept car is officially out, a man in Texas has the world’s first Rivian-powered vasectomy, and Kelly has questions about the sustainability of the electric used car market in industry news. To wrap up the show, Lizz shares her new favorite snack that’ll satisfy your sushi cravings and bookmarks a fun dino nugget mashed potato volcano to make with her future kiddos. Kelly gives us meal planning vibes with her pick me girl pasta bake. → To share your ditch the drive-through recipe with us, call (959) CAR-POOL and leave us a message! → Want our advice on your next car (or just got a life question for us)? The reviews are in, and everyone’s already raving about season two. New Carpool merch has just dropped, and you can now rock a Carpool sweatshirt in black or gray while chauffeuring your kiddos to school. So True Bestie shirts from season one are still available, too.  Kelly and Lizz bring a millennial word of the day from the ever-toxic Tik Tok — ratioed. Will Lizz get ratioed for her seasonal stance later in the episode?  If you’ve had enough of the internet lately — Kelly has — you’ll be nodding along as the gals discuss how unhinged Facebook reels are and how they beat the Tik Tok toxicity by switching to the less addicting IG reels.  → Kelly and Lizz are at 76K subscribers on YouTube, shooting for 100K! Subscribe to The Car Mom on YouTube here. When’s the perfect moment for grabbing your first PSL of the season? Kelly and Lizz have answers and the first great eight of season two. It’s giving fall. Bonfires, PSLs, home decor, and sweaters go head to head in this great eight. The gals call on mom to break their tie, which leads to mom’s chili taking over today’s ditch the drive-through. You can find mom’s legendary, award-winning chili recipe over on thecarmomofficial.com.  In industry news — which large SUVs are the most reliable, longest lasting, and most likely to reach 200K miles? A report from iseecars.com analyzed 1.8 million vehicles to find out. Kelly also shares a terrifying story from Motor Trend about Teslas running over child-sized mannequins. Yikes. We hate to see it.  Kelly and Lizz share their recommendations for non-mom friends and fans of the Carpool, and a heated buffalo wild wings debate wraps up today’s show. Why does it seem like all millennials have issues with their gut health? Lizz has been taking Binto’s Bloat Aid when indulging in foods like cheese, alcohol, bread, or an unpredictable test drive tasting on the show! Kelly’s gone rogue this week at Carters, Target, and Old Navy after finding out big baby news that she reveals on today’s show. Lizz adds to the baby fun with a list of illegal baby names worldwide. These two can’t keep a secret to save their lives, so today’s millennial word of the day — gatekeeping — just isn’t in their wheelhouse. The long-awaited Magic Spoon Cereal test drive is here! Do the 5 cups inside each box justify the $8.99 price tag? Kelly and Lizz taste-test the Fruity, Peanut Butter, and Chocolate flavors to find out. Kelly briefly updates us on her BeReal experience and dives into the industry news she managed to scrounge up this week. A recall of 2020-2022 Hyundai Palisades and Kia Tellurides over a fire risk affects 281,000 vehicles. The gals talk about air tag safety concerns and common signs of trafficking before getting ramped up about the upcoming Chevy Equinox unveiling that they’ll be in Detroit for next week. To wrap up industry news, Kelly shares a shocking story of a recent 2023 Corvette purchase in Texas. Ditch the drive-through today comes from Brittany in Philadelphia. The gals were on the hunt for a fantastic chicken salad, and Brittany delivered a delicious recipe with a poppy seed twist. A listener writes in for advice about adult birthday gift giving, and Kelly and Lizz share their thoughts about gift-y people, birthday people, and horoscope people. Today’s episode is brought to you by Athletic Greens. Two very married gals are here today, bringing you SEASON 2 of the Carpool Podcast! They just keep climbing the charts — oops — so this episode kicks off with a little re-introduction.  The millennial word of the day is clean girl aesthetic, and like most Gen Z things, it’s hard to explain. Basically, Hailey Bieber + Athletic Greens = clean girl. Kelly and Liz offer a (not sponsored) apology to Dime perfume and share how wearing the perfume went over the last week. The test drive was a little harsh, but both gals are seriously considering a purchase now.  Today’s taste drive features three entirely unhinged oreo flavors:

Toffee crunch

Pumpkin spice with a vanilla cookie

Caramel coconut that is giving Girl Scout Samoas

Then, Kelly brings a wild card topic to the show: MLMs, micro-influencers, and making a little extra cash with affiliate links.  Industry news dives into Carvana’s new influencer commission model, why Kelly and Liz are not fans of the company, and what’s next for automobile affiliates. An inventory update from Automotive News estimates how long we’ll be at inventory record lows, while a Toyota report records highs in customer satisfaction. Kelly gets an invite from VIN Fast to tour their facilities in Vietnam, and data from IC Cars reveals the shocking percentage of EVs in each state. Ditch the drive-through, an artichoke rice salad from Brunch with Babs, had Kelly sold at first sight. Rice-A-Roni? Say no more. You can use this recipe as a side dish or add chicken to make it a meal. Yum! Are car dealership trade-in promotions spam mail or legit? In this week’s advice segment, Kelly and Lizz encourage listeners to run the numbers and shop around — no one wants your car THAT bad.  Today’s episode is brought to you by Athletic Greens. Improve your gut health and overall energy with 75 high-quality vitamins, minerals, whole foods, and probiotics daily with just one scoop in water. The newlywed St. Johns are in the house for the season finale of the Carpool podcast. Of course, a wedding recap is on the agenda. Gen Zers are unhinged about today’s millennial phrase, and Lizz and Kelly agree it was overused on the wedding weekend. The episode rounds out with a test drive and ditch the drive-through.  Wedding questions from the carpool crew reveal Lizz and Mattie’s favorite parts of the day, what went wrong, how was Kelly’s speech, and who was the most fun (hint: his wife is pregnant).  The gals share a hilarious story about Tyler’s love for our Carpool fans, which is so next level that it resulted in two Carpool listeners making a forced appearance at the wedding reception. You’ll also hear who was bridezilla, what Mattie thought about the ‘first look,’ who saved the day with their seltzers, and the one thing Kelly didn’t have on hand. The only thing close to industry news today is that the crew rode off into the sunset in the new Expedition.  The unanimous consensus from Lizz, Mattie, and Kelly is that the day was one of the best days of their lives.  Lizz and Mattie are now off on honeymoon in Mexico, so there will be no episode next week! The following week Kelly and Lizz will be back with two episodes a week for the brand new season. Today’s test drive is the Dime Perfume sample set. 7 Summer is giving popular girl in 8th grade with a bit of Victoria’s Secret, Lovely Dream is sweet and sassy, ILYSB is gushers in a bottle, and Malibu Night brings the straight-up coconut vibes.  Bubble guts, anyone? Today’s episode is brought to you by My Binto and their incredible digestive enzymes. on Lizz’s last episode, as a bride-to-be, Kelly commits to turning down her drama, Lizz tries to keep her cool the week before her wedding, and they share a sisterly bond over their love for any recipe that calls for a stick of butter.  Kelly and Lizz try their millennial best to remember what Visco girls are and decipher the ironic from what’s genuine in the Gen Z vernacular as they define the millennial word of the day ‘and I oop.’ Round two of the (so far disappointing) Ollipops is here with a test drive of the ginger lemon, cherry vanilla, and strawberry vanilla flavors. Finally, one soda takes the cake and puts Ollipops somewhere between a seltzer water and soda pop experience.  Old wives’ tales are in the house! The gals give predicting the gender of Kelly’s baby a shot, and there’s more to come. Today, they analyze Kelly’s food cravings, hair and skin glow, and mood before pulling out a Chinese gender chart.  In the last three transactions segment, Lizz gets ready for her honeymoon with a clutch and a wifey sweatshirt, while Kelly finally feels good enough to eat her favorite salad from Chick-fil-a. Lizz is also gearing up for some video recording of the podcast episodes, and Kelly is going all-in on Hatty’s wardrobe. Industry news is some hot goss on a Volkswagen throwback, Rivian layoffs, and wholesale vehicle prices decreasing. A listener brings the Mississippi pot roast to ditch the drive-through. And the gals give a bit of parenting and tips on getting started with stocks.  Don’t miss the summer merch mentioned at the end of the episode! Grab your ‘So True, Bestie” tees here.  Today’s episode is brought to you by Athletic Greens. BIG baby news is here this week, and Lizz dives right into a preggo Q&A for Kelly. Will she find out the baby’s gender? How are the two Stumpe kiddos warming up to the news? Can the whole Stumpe family still fit in the three-bedroom house? And, of course, is the Expedition here to stay?  This week’s millennial word of the day is a Gen Z app trend called ‘Be Real.’ This French, spur-of-the-moment social media app is all the rage in the Gen Z crowd, but Kelly and Lizz are just not ready for this level of real.  Change is stressful, and the gals are torn over the new Instagram updates. The consensus? The Carpool podcast is in, and Instagram is out, but they’re still not leaving anytime soon! On this week’s test drive, Kelly and Lizz give three Ollipops flavors a shot as their public service. Let’s just say Mattie will have plenty of rejects to drink later. In industry news, Sequoia by Toyota is reporting better mpg as a hybrid, and Kelly is ready to get her hands on one to tour.  Lizz gives a listener some small business wisdom and shares her app and routine recommendations for moms who lift.  Kelly shares an absolute jaw-dropping rave over Naptime Kitchen’s creamy chicken enchiladas — a crockpot and freezer meal that had her and Tyler going back for seconds (and lunch the next day). Check out this recipe that’ll make a 9 x 13 pan for dinner and two 8 x 8 pans for the freezer! Today’s episode is brought to you by My Binto. Kelly and Lizz rave about the inositol they discovered through My Binto and how it can help reduce anxiety, support hair growth, balance blood sugar, and curb cravings. “Do you even know us?!” These two rusty gals are back from vacation, just hit 500,000 downloads of the Carpool Podcast, and want to send a huge thank you to their listeners! Lizz is getting married in two weeks and reports on the last of her dress saga. After a tiff with a disgruntled employee, a chat with the shop owner, and a few more fittings, Lizz finally has THE dress in her hands!  In the millennial word of the day segment, Kelly and Lizz admit, “Drip we are not, dry we are,” in their biker shorts and tanks.  Their most recent trip to 30A was full of chilling in the best way, minus the $14 hot dogs and chicken nuggets by the pool. A highlight of the trip that inspired today’s test drive was the completely unhinged candy store. The gals didn’t come home with sardine candy canes or hot dog cotton candies, but they are giving some Fruit Loop, Kool Aid, and Sour Patch grape gummies a try.  Next up on Kelly and Lizz’s last three debit card transactions, Kelly’s on a health kick and feeling inspired in the kitchen, Lizz flushes $58 down the drain, and Kelly tackles a home reno update.  In industry news, Rivian rolls out their first electric Amazon delivery vehicles and reports a staggering list of reservations for their new R1S SUV. The new Honda CRV stokes the Rav 4 battle and proves it’s a car to watch, which Kelly and Lizz would love to do at a Honda event (wink wink, Honda!). Kelly and Lizz have got places to go and people to marry this summer, but they’re back from ‘The Bach’ and ready to recap their weekend with their girlies on this loaded episode. Kicking the episode off today is a light hearted millennial word of the day ‘core memory.’ As in, the bachelorette weekend is, for sure, a core memory! The gals headed to their family’s lake house in the Ozarks where dad captained the boat. The 200 seltzers Kelly bought for the weekend plus a batch of the Suntrup family classic Yucca made for quite the mix of day drinking and night drinking that left Lizz yearning for her middle of the day naps.  Kelly and Lizz give a nod to the power of dressing in color schemes with your friends. Mama Kelly frets over the dangers of night swimming and brags up her morning parfait bar that was served alongside quiche and cinnamon rolls.  Bachelorette jeopardy was a huge hit and exactly zero twerking happened on the cove-out — mostly because the gals don’t know how.  Industry news is a little sad today as reports of new car prices and leases continue to rise. On the bright side, Bloomberg reports that the US has crossed the eclectic car tipping point for mass adoption with 5% of new car sales powered only by electricity.  Today’s ditch the drive through is all about Kelly’s fridge clean out. She’s normalizing everyone in the house eating different meals and using muffin tin charcuterie trays for the kids.  To wrap up the episode the gals bring another new advice column segment to answer a question from a mom from northern Michigan looking for advice on buying a car for her new teenage driver.  To share your ditch the drive through recipe with us call (959) CAR-POOL and leave us a message! The gals’ brand new advice segment is HERE! But before Kelly and Lizz dish their ideas on best family cars, they’ve got a fantastic little lineup for you. Kelly gives a not-so-glam review of motherhood and hates on the summer heat. She’s also got a recap of her recent trip to Indy with the fam including her first Torchy’s Tacos experience, fun with the kids, and the most darling parks she’s ever seen.  Lizz brings a shocking and disturbing millennial word for girls that came straight from the mouth of a true Gen Z’er. It leaves Kelly and Lizz wondering…what are the Gen Z ladies calling the men?! Today’s great 8 segment flips the script from last week where Kelly and Lizz decided which of the Disney male leads would win the Hunger Games. This week, the gals are lining up Elsa, Rapunzel, Mulan, Ariel, Jasmine, Belle, Pocahontas, and Meg from Hercules.  In the show’s first ever advice segment working and pregnant with #2 mom, Angela, writes in to get Car Mom’s advice on whether she and her husband should go with a Kia Telluride or a Hyundai Palisade as their new family car. Kelly and Lizz talk about car seat placement, third rows, and three-kiddo convenience.  In industry news storage startup StowIt.com provides people a place to park their cars, boats, and RVs AirBnB style. Then, Kelly and Lizz discover the most popular vehicle in each state and which has the highest percentage of minivans on the road. Lizz brings a ditch the drive through that will help you figure out what to do with your leftover hamburger buns from dinner or a backyard barbeque.  To wrap up the show, Kelly and Lizz check in on their summer goals and talk Peloton, painting kitchens, and peach salsa.  REMINDER: Get your copy or audio of The Love Hypothesis book and join us for our summer book club! This week Kelly and Lizz are spying on a couple of grant-seeking scientists…aka they’re loving the cheesy love story inside of this month’s book club book The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood.  On the docket today is a millennial phrase of the day — “It’s not that deep” — as well as a hysterical great eight, decent industry news, and a ditch the drive through coming to you from a TCP listener in Ohio.  Quick note from Kelly and Lizz: For July and August we’ll be publishing one episode per week. In September we’ll get back to two episodes per week.  Lizz did her first ad on Instagram and is taking the slow burn growth of her following day by day. She’s happy to stay behind the camera for tours and content creation, though, since Kelly is, in Lizz’s words, atrocious at holding the camera.  In the Tik Tok inspired great eight this week Kelly and Lizz decide which Disney princes would survive the Hunger Games. Featured are princes and male love interests from The Little Mermaid, Mulan, Tangled, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, Frozen, Princess and the Frog, and Sleeping Beauty. Who do the gals think can fight AND survive? In industry news, hopefully we’ve turned a corner and aren’t just headed downhill as demand numbers are slowing down a little bit. Interest rates and prices are up, some dealerships are trying to survive without much new car inventory, and companies like CarMax are seeing a decline in retail sales. Kia and Hyundai cars between 2011-2015 are being stolen everywhere after viral videos have shown how to start these cars without a key and Ford announced this week they’re no longer going to be allowing buyouts of their EV leases. The gals speculate why Ford is following Tesla’s lead.  To round out the episode Kelly and Lizz rant about Subdivisions, HOA’s, toxic neighborhood Facebook groups, and dudes on hoverboards selling bug spray at dinner time. Speaking of dinner time, this week’s ditch the drive through is a delicious and quick throw-it-together meal that is a whole-family favorite at Kylie’s home in Ohio.

Warning: Bumpy ride ahead! Lizz is back from her 10 hour drive to Dallas WITH NO DRESS. The gals share their last three debit transactions — which may just spark some controversy and reveal the next book club book. Lizz’s wildest wedding dress fears came true this week complete with a near black-out, dress that wasn’t even close to fitting, and a wedding date quickly approaching. Kelly is going hard on hyping her backup and fending off the nightmare stories from other brides. At least the duo have Lizz’s bachelorette party to look forward to in a couple of weeks! Kelly and Lizz recount their last three debit card transactions. Kelly shares her bread bagel slice secrets (is this bagel heresy?) and purchase of a new, life changing 16 slice apple slicer. Lizz’s card is still getting a wedding themed workout with her most recent purchases of new wedding shoes and a fake diamond ring for the boat ride. The millennial word of the day — ship — is here to make Kelly, Lizz, and their millennial mom listeners a little less lame. The Carpool Podcast officially ships Lizz and Mattie. In industry news, new vehicles cost more, but there’s no shortage of buyers. The average transaction price for a vehicle is now over half of the annual US median household income and Kelly’s passion for affordable family vehicles is on the rise, too. A new collab between Honda Motor Company and Sony looks like a Tesla baby, and Kia shares its EV strategy and hopes to debut eight EVs by 2029. A short and sweet ditch the drive through comes to you from Kelly’s freezer and Stauffer’s lasagna. This one’s not so quick to cook, but it definitely belongs in your back pocket as a no-brainer, family-friendly, crave-worthy dinner option. The next book club book: The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood.

Long-lost Suntrup sis joins Lizz and Kelly today. Sydney is a 2000’s model Suntrup and brings a Gen Z flair to the show with a bit of slang, Q&A, and a college-friendly ditch the drive through. Kelly’s been practicing her maid of honor speech in the car and Sydney doles out some tips on how she can be both funny and heartfelt. Kelly deems that anything less than pure excellences will be a failure. Q&A with Sydney covers how she got started with rowing, her love affair with little sedans, and her quirky sense of style. She shares about her double major and masters degree plans and then…reveals who her favorite Suntrup sibling is. Today’s great eight is a worst eight all about what the gals hate about summer. Sweat, bugs, burns, laundry, and shaving make an appearance as Lizz, Kelly, and Sydney remember the most dreadful days of summer. Lizz is leaving Kelly! But only for a week. The wedding is just around the corner and Lizz is making a ten hour drive for her three final dress fittings in Dallas. Only time and distance will tell if the gals can handle working remotely from each other again. What makes you more millennial than saying Bye Felicia every time you hang up the phone? Maybe debating the great eight of millennial slang — which Kelly and Lizz unapologetically do on this episode. On fleek, adulting, goals, FOMO, and can’t even all make an appearance on the list and Mattie gets called in for a tiebreaker…may the most millennial word win! Kelly and Lizz have wrangled some wild auto industry news stories for today including a report on the new all-electric Chevy Blazer, which inspires the gals to dream up an interview with Chevy's badass CEO, Mary Barra. Next, they cover a new study that suggests your car color impacts its resale value and why yellow cars come out a clear winner in the resale value category. Last, the legal battle of a Missouri woman who contracted an STD while very much ‘adulting’ in a man’s car filed claims against his auto insurance company Geico for the incident. Kelly and Lizz can’t even.  To wrap up the show, Nikki from Boston calls in with tasty summer ditch-the drive through: Burger Bowls! If you’ve gotten bored with your ground beef tacos and meatballs, this is a quick and easy take on a summer classic that’s easy to please a crowd with. Kelly takes a stroll down frozen pizza lane and recommends you doo, too. follow The Carpool Podcast on IG follow Kelly on IG follow Lizz on IG  visit thecarmomofficial.com Learn more about your ad choices. Kelly and Lizz are in the chaotic throes of summer and getting their hot girl walks ON! After all, what can’t you accomplish with the right fanny pack pop-of-color in your outfit and a Spotify model walk playlist? Nothing. You’re unstoppable. In this exciting — very exciting — episode Kelly and Lizz talk summer plans, kiddo craziness, and how fast Lizz’s wedding is approaching. Another virgin-drink test drive is here as the girls try the TikTok sparkling water and balsamic vinegar trend. Does it taste like Coke? Absolutely not. Are the gals still gonna give it a go? Of course. Kelly and Lizz share their last three debit card purchases which include flower girl goods, a disappointing Target purchase, sushi, Starbucks, and shapewear. In industry news, Apple CarPlay is planning for a screen takeover and the Jeep Wrangler receives horrible crash ratings (again). The auto dealer franchise law is up for debate as new electric cars hit the market and no longer need as much dealership service. This week’s ditch the drive-through is a 00’s mall-life flashback, the O’Charley’s California Chicken Sandwich. Upgrade your hot girl walk this week with a Keenz Stroller Wagon — our fabulous sponsor today. Listen in to hear how each of their stroller models compares to a car personality and functionality. Mattie gives the millenial word for the day and the trio debate about age rounding errors and elders. Next up, an ICONIC test drive of MREs. These military ‘meals ready to eat’ have got 40 to 50 year expiration dates according to Mattie and there’s expert etiquette for eating them the right way. Is this the best episode of TCP yet? Kelly, Lizz, and their intern/sister, Grayson, agree this one is absolutely ‘the moment.’ Kelly and Lizz kick off the show enjoying their Starbucks — delivered by Gray — and rave about their current favorite drinks. One of them even tastes like Scooby Snack cookies. Uh, yum! A recap of their most recent trip to Wisconsin for the Spring Rally is up on this episode. Kelly and Lizz give the behind the scenes dirt on what it's like being female influencers in the auto industry. The great eight of barbeque sides make an appearance and Kelly goes to town on the deeper meaning of coleslaw. Kelly and Lizz may have wound down from the New York International Auto show, but their lives are only ramping up. Did somebody say micro-influencer? They start the episode at the (fictional) Sonic drive through when they taste-test Sonic Hard Seltzers: Original limeade, classic lemonade, lemonade, lemon, berry and cherry limeade flavors. How will they measure up to other hard seltzers the gals have tried?  The true OG listeners will know: these sisters are anything but mid and have tried a LOT. Then they dive into another new game (sorry, Great 8). They play "The Price Is Right'' on Facebook Marketplace. The sisters have to guess how much an item is listed for, and whoever is closest to the actual price wins. So, which sister picked wedding-themed items, while the other picked used car items?   They also discuss some important ‘mom’ news about Black Maternal Health Week, and unpack shocking statistics that impact black mothers’ wellbeing.  Plus, find out how TikTok is posing a threat to teenage mental health, and its impact on safety, self esteem, and risk for addiction. This episode has a little of everything: tasty treats, a dramatic novel tell-all, and a trip down Suntrup memory lane.   The gals start the episode by unraveling a childhood Easter tradition—one that was both colorful and time consuming. They also introduce a new segment: Pending, where they reveal the last three transactions they made on their debit/credit card. So, which sister put her money toward modest purchases like cups and shorts, while the other dropped a whopping $180 on a bathing suit? The hosts also try out Amaretto brownies, a (dare we say vintage) recipe from the 90's. Plus, these brownies have an even sweeter component: Kelly’s mother-in-law found this recipe when she was very pregnant with Kelly’s now husband. Turns out, eating dessert before dinner isn’t off limits on The Carpool. Liz shares her 4-ingredient dinner hit: chicken fajitas. Just don’t be surprised when your tribe becomes a simp for this recipe. The gals close one chapter and open another—literally-- at the end of this episode.
