Where do we begin? We want women to Show up, Show off, and share their story and the truth (the whole truth) about how they got to where they are, what happened along the way, and what they learned on the journey that just might give some insight to another women seeking the same.
Our aim is to provide a space to be heard, using our collective voices to make impact in the world.
Grab a friend and get ready cause’ these waves of women are diving in deep, sometimes headfirst, and making Big Waves along the way.
We are ending the week with a little happy dance because today marks our 100th EPISODE!! We are in true awe that we've made it to today. 100 episodes! Are you kidding! When we started this podcast two years ago we always dreamed of this, but actually accomplishing it feels different. The number of stories we've been able to share, the women we've been able to uplift, and the journeys and healing we've witnessed through it all is magic. Thank you for continuing to listen, continuing to support these women and continuing to give us a reason to give them a platform. Of course there's been some mishaps and mayhem along the way, but cheers to all of the magic! And here's to another 100!

Her deepest desire is to help you understand who you really are, your purpose for being here, and to help provide you with the clarity, confidence, and courage to live your life as the powerful creator that she knows you to be.

She knew she was here on this planet for more – more joy, more abundance, more freedom – but she didn’t know how to get it. Since then, she’s figured out that it’s not her job to know the ‘how’. "I never consider age when I want to try something new. You can do anything at any age." - Lorraine
MEET LORRAINE:
I’m a lifelong communicator, helping empower women and others to achieve their goals. I am the founder and CEO of Viva Fifty! a bilingual community that celebrates being 50+. I’ve worked as an editor and social media coordinator for a number of online publications. I’m a content creator and regular contributor to NCBNews, HuffPost, AARP, Baby Center and Mom.Me. I’ve contributed to People en Español, La Palma of The Palm Beach Post, Purple Clover, Latina Magazine and Redbook. My latest book on embracing age was published by Harper Collins in 2017.
But most of all I am a woman, a mom, a wife, a daughter, a sister, a friend, a writer, an entrepreneur, a yogini.
I was born in Spain to a family of writers. My grandfather owned a printing press. On the weekends and after school, my sister and I would help him collate books. I still remember the smell of the ink, the glue, the paper…
My dad made a huge effort to make sure all his children could express themselves fluently in two languages. He wanted me to be a marine biologist, but I grew up watching him write books. I chose to be a writer. Or maybe writing chose me.
I wrote and published my first book, about an eating disorder I battled for years, before I turned 30. My world was never the same after that.
I love drawing, and I’ve spent most of my life dancing (modern, jazz and Latin). I used to be a runner. But recently I rediscovered yoga, and now I spend part of my day finding grace on and off the mat.
I married in my mid-thirties, having my first baby at 37 and my second one at 40. I love my girls with all my heart. I was raised by my abuelita, which affected how I’ve mothered my own girls, giving it my all, striving to be the best mom I can.
I moved to Florida in 2004, a day before a hurricane hit the Sunshine State. Four years later, during the Great Recession my world crumbled. I lost my marriage, my savings and my source of income. I found myself absolutely broke—emotionally and financially. But with two little girls to take care of, and with the help and inspiration from many friends along the way, I managed to reinvent my writing career by taking it online.
A year later I met the love of my life, also a writer. And guess what else? He’s also multicultural and bilingual, and the father of a young boy, similar in age to my daughters’. What more could I have wished for?
For 14 years we have lived together as a blended family with our three children, and a dog we rescued along the way. Our kids are practically adults and we are empty-nesters. Together, we face challenges similar to those of other multicultural families in the United States.
My dream is to one day live in a house by the beach. I can’t complain though, I can hop in the car and in less than ten minutes, be soaking my toes in the ocean. All this while I pursue my love of inspiring women to live a full life and chase their dreams.

YES! In this week's episode Chloe teaches us how we are always evolving and how finding a safe space to do the inner work and aligning yourself with people who allow you to create and hold that space for yourself is needed. Understanding how to hone into your intuition to pair that intuition with the ideas, concepts and strategies of a Full Body Yes, is where we need to be. If it’s not a Full Body Yes, then it’s a No. If you don’t feel that Yes from head to toe then it might not be meant for you. It’s beautiful to see the magic unfolding of becoming your authentic self.

"If you have integrity you can’t be everything to everyone. I’m not everybody’s cup of tea. In order to be someone’s cup of tea you automatically are not someone else’s cup of tea. And that’s okay. I celebrate that." - Ava Moreno
Ava Moreno entered the yoga and fitness community through her first love: dance. She began her dance training in Massachusetts as a toddler, training in all forms of dance. After having struggled with a severe eating disorder when she began her professional dance career at age 16, Ava found Colleen Quinn, an incredible mentor and inspiration to her through the form of a personal trainer and physical therapist. Ava has also struggled with several injuries in dance due to her hypermobility, including a medial patellofemoral ligament knee reconstruction, leading her to look into deeper ways of understanding and helping her body. Although Ava had first been introduced to yoga at age 11 through dance, it was not until she entered recovery from her eating disorder that she began practicing regularly, discovering the peace, focus, and stability -- both physically and mentally -- it brought her. Throughout her recovery, Ava studied nutrition and began to explore the yoga, fitness, and wellness world.
Inspired by her trainer, Colleen, Ava went on to receive her personal training certification through the National Academy of Sports Medicine while dancing professionally in New York City. Shortly after, at the age of 20, she completed her RYT 200-hour yoga teacher training with David Vendetti and Todd Skoglund of South Boston Yoga in 2014. Her training certified her through Yoga Alliance in vinyasa, restorative, and prenatal yoga. She completed her 50 hour yin yoga training with Rebekah Rivera in 2016, her 300 hours for her RYT 500-hour certification with Julia Planine-Troiani in 2017, and an additional 300 hour training with Rebekah Rivera in 2018-2019, all through Hot 8 Yoga. In the spring of 2019, Ava completed an aerial yoga teacher training with Lei Lei de Kirby of Levity Aerial Yoga in San Luis Obispo, and she helped create Breathe & Fly (aerial yoga for kids) through Breathe & Learn, a program by Joanie Plake designed to bring yoga and mindfulness to children. Most recently, she completed an additional 50-hour yin yoga training with Bernie Clark and Diana Batts at Semperviva Yoga in Vancouver, completed a somatics training with Trina Altman, as well as received her reformer certification through RockIt Body Pilates. She now leads yin yoga, yoga barre, and 200 hour vinyasa-based teacher trainings, as well as offers continuing education for instructors of all kinds.
Ava is passionate about helping others find their own physical, mental, and emotional strength through physical movement and subtler meditation work. Yoga, Pilates, personal training, dance, meditation, breathwork, and general movement are her methods of doing so, with her background and career in dance as an advantage. Ava is always eager to learn more from those around her, including her clients and students. She understands that each student and client has a different body, with a different structure, which affects not only movement and range of motion, but also the movement pathways the body takes. Ava’s philosophy for her teaching and training is to recognize and tap into your own individual needs as a student to be able to find a balance of push and pull, challenge and ease, and growth and grounding.
After recovering from her knee surgery and dancing professionally again in Boston, Ava moved to Los Angeles in March 2016 to pursue her passions of all things movement, energy, and wellness. She started practicing sound healing and offers sound baths both online and in person throughout the Los Angeles area. Most recently, she created THE WORK by Ava, an online platform for all things yoga, movement, and meditation.

I believe in miracles, Manolos, and that there is power and profit in mistakes. A former Miss Congeniality, powered by green juice, Italian espresso, and gallons of glitter, I am proud to have helped hundreds of leaders build their empires, breakthrough their self-limiting beliefs, revolutionize their relationships, and rewrite their stories of self-sabotage into a story of success, in all areas of their life.
For as long as I can remember I’ve been obsessed with stories of women who go from rags to riches, from fear to success, and vice versa. What separates those who cave in to their circumstances while others climb to the top?

She embodies her own principles having since founded her own happily ever after with her husband and now five children.
She firmly believes that business is 80% energetics and 20% strategy. Her clients have gone on to leave their corporate careers and create successful multi-six-figure businesses, add additional streams of income, and have their first million-dollar years.

Erin Kempe’s career in the culinary world started back in her home state of Texas where she worked in several restaurants, which helped to develop her love for food and wine. A move to Las Vegas brought her to work with culinary masters and James Beard winners like Hubert Keller of Fleur de Lys, Rick Moonen of RM Seafood, Wolfgang Puck of Cut and Spago and Shawn McClain of Sage. After meeting Paolo in 2007, she became passionate and eager to help with the wine making. Her knowledge of wine seemed to grow with every vintage and her dream to become a winemaker began to take shape. Together with Paolo, she created a new label under her name, KEMPE which will be focusing on Bordeaux varietals such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Sirah, some Bordeaux Blends, with a Rose’ and white blend as well. In 2014, Paolo and Erin decided “roll the dice” and go “all in” to pursue wine making full-time, and left Las Vegas to open their tasting room in Los Olivos. Today, Barbieri & Kempe wines have expanded to offer unique white and rose’ options as well as different varietals and blends.

Would you like a happy thought?
In August, 2021, Kristin started a fiber arts business and handed out Happy Thoughts for free. The magic that occurred through that experience resulted in the creation of Happy Thought products! She says that she can’t process it all, but has learned that we’re really all the same and we’re all unique little butterflies. We have so much to offer and loving ourselves and believing in ourselves is the first step to finding our magic. In August, 2022, she started selling ‘365 Days of Happy Thoughts’ to help us love ourselves a little bit more and in turn love this world a little more! Kristin is now a “happy thought”-sharing-mobile-fiber-artist making her dream a reality by jumping off scary societal cliffs, serving others and crafting away.

Anxiety, connection to nature, connection to yourself, meditation, grounding practices and remembering to pause and be grateful are all major themes in today's inspiring episode with Tess Jewell-Larsen.
@tessjewelllarsen // www.tytoniyoga.com
MORE ABOUT TESS:
Hi! I'm Tess and I'm so excited to meet you! I am a nature loving, stress and burnout coach and podcast host who talks a lot about stress & anxiety and embodied wellness.
Why do I talk a lot about stress, anxiety and embodied wellness? Because I've struggled with anxiety since I was very little and I've dealt with persistent back pain since my early 20s and I burned out in my early 30s and I know how debilitating they all can be... and I also know (now) that both of those things play into each other AND they can be healed!
After years of just getting by—and let's be honest not managing stress and anxiety well, which led to me completely burning out—I wanted to learn how to THRIVE. I refused to believe that "just getting by" was the best I could do, so I turned to yoga and mindfulness.
At first it was a bit of a rocky road because I didn't know how to best use the tools that were out there for my specific needs and I didn't have good internal communication with myself. But through years of study, spending a lot of time re-connecting with myself, testing out what worked (and what didn't!), training with some amazing teachers from all over the world, I've built up a pretty powerful toolkit.
I want to share that toolkit with you and help you meet yourself where you are, find the tools that work best for you and help you reach your goals (and more)!

GRISEL PUIG-SNIDER: Born and raised on the island of Puerto Rico, my roots grew in the Taino traditions of my grandmothers and the wise elders of our community. From a young age I witnessed them preparing medicine from herbs and plants collected as necessary in the moment from our own soil. Not until I moved to the United States did I recognize and begin cultivating this heritage in order to share with family, friends, and community the wisdom of the green species. They speak…I only listen. They guide me…I am only the conduit. For the past fifteen years I have educated myself and strengthened the connection with the power of medicinal plants. I have been blessed to study with Rosemary Gladstar, Candis Cantin, Rocio Alarcon, among others, women who share their sacred knowledge with integrity. I invite you to discover, learn, and practice knowledge handed down through generations. We can give our children a gift that is imperative for the well-being of humanity.

She has so much wisdom about your wardrobe and style being a way to express yourself and tell your story, and sheds light on being resourceful, sustainable, and excited about your wardrobe!
More about Lisa:
I have been a student of fashion for the majority of my life. Thanks to Italian designer Gianni Versace I fell in love with fashion at age 10 and I have never looked back. I adore contemporary fashion but I have a great respect for fashion's past and how continually relevent it is. In the current fashion landscape where 'Fast Fashion' and even faster tends reign supreme I opted to take a slower and more eco-friendly approach to personal and professional styling.I specialize in re-styling Fashion's past in a current way. Re-wearing or giving a new life to a Vintage piece of clothing or an accessory is a sustainable way to express your individual style story. Great style to me isn't always about consumption, it is about authenticity and creativity. I have assisted countless women though EVOLUTION VINTAGE connect with their authentic selves though personal style. I am currently curating the 55,000 Dress Collection and finding a home for this incredible compilation of Fashion's Past.We can all easily grab something off the rack, follow 'the herd' and duplicate trends but I always favor careful curation of an individual looks and collective wardrobe for myself and my clients.Personal style extends beyond your wardrobe into your home, your events and your life in general. Claudia Olsen, a breast cancer survivor and advocate, stepped into the studio this week and shared her story as openly and authentically as we ever could have asked.
More about Claudia:
Where did my story start? My story started when I was born in Oaxaca, Mexico 50 years ago. Since then my life has had many twists and turns, although most of them have been good. I moved to SLO 25 years ago when I married my husband Jon. We have two daughters that are 16 and 11 years old. I have been an active member of our community and have been teaching our daughters the importance of community service. We have volunteered raising funds/food for the SLO Food Bank, Lumina Alliance (former Women’s Shelter), First Fruits Farms, the Homeless Shelter, prepping and serving at the Grass Roots Thanks Giving dinner, Jack’s Helping Hand, and harvesting veggies for Glean SLO. My hope is that our help can make a difference in our community.
My hardship in the medical world started when on 2-22-22 I was diagnosed with breast cancer. For me, it was an early detection and there were no symptoms or lumps. Never in my wildest Dreams did I ever imagine that I was going to have breast cancer. The first 3 weeks after my diagnosis were super intense. I was devastated. After reaching out to other women that were cancer survivors, I decided to take charge of my care and put on my warrior armor to fight this horrible illness. I put everything on hold regarding family and work; at the time we were in the middle of setting up our Airbnb.
To win this battle I had to prepare for it so I started eating a clean diet and ate lots of broccoli micro greens. I underwent therapy to better understand my feelings and I started watching funny movies because I needed to laugh more. But above all, praying and meditation were the mediums that helped me turn my cancer into a blessing. Till this day I still believe I’m alive thanks to all the prayers from my family and friends. Through meditation, I discovered childhood trauma that I wasn’t aware of previously. It was like I had opened the Pandora’s Box from my past. I decided to go to UCLA for my medical care and it has been the best decision of my life besides marrying Jon and having my girls. It wasn’t an easy process, but I’m very blessed that I had my family and friends supporting me. My first breast biopsy report said that my cancer was stage 2 but the surgeon thought that because of the size of my tumor could actually be a stage 3. I visualized my tumor shrinking and I was using my meditation app up to 8 times per day to keep my anxiety at bay and mind clear. After my surgery, they found out out that my cancer was stage 1. I truly believe that my surgery and biopsy results are a miracle. Currently, I am cancer-free but as for anyone being diagnosed with cancer, this battle will continue for the rest of our lives.
I believe that by sharing my story I can empower women, specially the Latinx community to break the stigma and misconceptions about early cancer detection and being cured. This past year, eight people have reached out to me when they were diagnosed with cancer. I have helped them in various ways, like making appointments and seeking a second opinion.
In a way Cancer was a rebirth for me and my story will continue …
This week we sat down with two women from The Love Tower Team to talk about their mission and what love means to each of us.
