Aasia Baig is the founder and owner of Centenary Lounge. She began her journey in the railways in 2001, when she and her husband opened their first retail store in Solihull Station. In 2003 Birmingham Moor St Station reopened after extensive restoration by Chiltern Railways. When Aasia visited the station looking for an empty unit where she could open a quality cafe, she fell in love with the charming quaint station. Since then she has opened the first class lounge in Worcester, with a new branch opening in Leamington Spa later in 2022 and franchises opening around the country.

Carrie met Aasia to learn more about her extraordinary journey, growing up working in her parent's shop, before launching her first business at just 21 years old. So what is the Women Who podcast?

Well, its hosted by Women Who, Worcestesrhire. We’re a networking group for female business owners in Worcestesrhire. And by us we mean Carrie Pawley and Lisa Lloyd. I’m a reiki healer and Lisa is a photographer, both solo entrepreuneurs looking for connection and support.

So we started it ourselves!

In February 2019 we set up a small Facebook Group to help connect the female business owners of Worcestershire.

It wasn’t long before news of our new group circulated and women from all over Worcestershire, running small to medium enterprises, were joining the group and the community grew exceptionally fast.

Listen to our intro to find out what we're all about!
