Just as my beautiful Laika was about to have puppies, my Mrs decides to bugger off on holiday leaving me all alone to play midwife...brilliant.
Armed with a welping kit, a large durable treat to keep Milo out of the way during the birth, and a shit-ton of towels, I prepared myself for a long night (which turned out to be a long night and a day!).
Fortunately, I'm friends with a lady who breeds huskies, otherwise this experience would have been absolutely terrifying. I mean, seriously, my hands where built for fixing trucks, not birthing babies! But what the heck, it can't be that hard, can it...
As you'll see, there were some scary moments during the pregnancy and by the end of it we'd both been awake for around 36hrs! It was gruelling to say the least but having the opportunity to assist in such a beautiful part of life was incredible and something I'll never forget.
We're not dog breeders but always wanted for our dogs to have at least one litter of pups. Unfortunately for my Mrs, she didnt get to witness this awesome event, which is why I tried to document and record so much of it. However, it does mean that I get to share it with you all. And if i have to see the gory bits then so do you!
So buckle folks and get ready for creation in all its beautiful and not-so-beautiful forms...

In the good old days you could replace your car battery and be on your merry way. However, for better or for worse, it is no longer as simple as this. Most modern cars have whats called an "auto stop/start" system. A battery which has dropped below 90% health can prohibit this system from working, requiring you to replace what would normally be considered an adequate battery. The fun and games dont stop there though, because after shelling out a fortune for a new battery and attempting to fit it yourself, you may still find that the stop/start system still doesnt work! Oh my goodness, these new vehicles really are a pain in the arse. But fear not, your helpful motor mechanic, @article61, is here to help you. On a recent holiday to Italy we stayed in the beautiful town of Parghelia which is 2 minutes away from Tropea.
Tropea is a dream location for anyone who owns a drone due to the long stretched out beaches, the rocky outcrops, and, best of all, the site of Tropea itself. As you'll see in the video, the outskirts of Tropea hang precariously over the edge of the cliffs allowing anyone who visits the vista of a lifetime. Flying the drone close to the city walls and around the rocky beaches was very exciting and there were moments where my drone cut out due to lost signal which is always scary. However, you dont learn anything if you dont push yourself and on this vacation I certainly tried to push myself out of the comfort zone. What the heck, I insured my drone before leaving so why not take some risks 🫣
The editing is always stressful and unfortunately I couldnt use all the footage I wanted to but with what I could use I think I did an ok Job. Hopefully 3speak wont butcher the resolution and you get to see Tropea in all its glory. Even so, I'll probably upload a YouTube version anyway just in case.
Cant wait to write about my time in Italy and show you all all the wonderful pictures I capture with the drone and my phone. Tropea is a beautiful part of Italy and I'd encourage anyone to visit.

Another day and another learning curve to navigate.
Last week @ksteem took up my challenge to write a post for #beersaturday and I have to say that he put in a steerling effort. In addition to this @ksteem took the opportunity to pass the baton back to me with a challenge to create a post for the drone community. Smart move.
It's great to have someone encouraging me to get more practice with my drone because I certainly need it. And so, off I trot with my Mavic 2 pro to some local spots that offer plenty of space. I required the extra room due to the chosen feature I was going to use.
Asteroid Mode Asteroid mode is a great feature offered to many DJI drone users and it's something I have been chomping at the bit to use. It's an easy mode and once you've positioned your drone and chosen your subject it a quick press of the button and the drone then takes over to do the rest.
As I said, I visited 2 locations today and achieved my goal. The video featured here on 3speak is my favourite of the 2 I shot due to the watery location which helped add an ocean like finish to the world I created using the Asteroid feature. Next task was to go home and transfer the files in a way that I could show them on Hive. At first I tried to use Giphy but soon found out that Giphy reduce the image quality so much that it spoils my efforts. So, I now have the problem of wanting to post 2 separate videos but no known way of doing so. I could stich the two videos together and have one play straight after the other but that's isn't ideal. Now my options are limited and I really don't like using YouTube, which would have enable me to create 2 separate video and add them to one Hive post. In the end I decided to uplaod my favourite video of the two I made today and upload it to 3speak. As for the other video I will just have to add the giphy link I made earlier, but at least that will serve as a demonstration as to how much quality difference there is between the two.
If anyone out there knows of any software I can use to create small videos and add them to a post on hive, that would be greatly appreciated. I did notice that 3speak have the option of creating a post without adding it to your Hive blog. I guess I could create to 3speak videos without adding them to my blog and then create a separate post on Hive and add my videos to that? Sounds like a lot of hastle but maybe it's the only way.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy the short Asteroid video. Personally, I love the images this feature creates and depending on your surrounding the possibilties are infinite. I have seen some of these images that were taken near tall skyscraper buildings and the end results were brilliant due to the way the buildings appeared to poke out from the perimeter of the globe.

Welcome to my 2nd post for #hivemotors. This is a community on hive I have only just discovered and I'm very glad to see such a space on hive that allows me to share my proffession with you all.
In today's post I have created a tutorial video that explains how to diagnose and fix a very common problem.
Although I am demonstrating this on a Mini Countryman this video still applies to almost every other vehicle because almost all of them have this troublesome part fitted to them.
I hope you find this video interesting and maybe one day it will save you some money.

Thanks to all you lovely folk on Hive I was finally back in the air, flying my new Mavic 2 pro!
After helping me raise some funds to put towards replacing my stolen drone, I scraped together all I could and purchased a 2nd-hand Mavic 2 pro.
Even at a cost of £750, the Mavic 2 pro is worth every penny and is an upgrade from the Mavic pro I previously owned. Apart from a few features the main difference between the two drones is the upgraded Hassleblad camera. Shooting in 4k, and able to capture images at an impressive 20 megapixles, this camera is simply awesome.
So, with a huge grin on my face, I say thank you to all of you who helped me get my wings back. And now with an even bigger grin on my face I introduce my very first video, captured at Towen beach, Newquay.
Unfortunately, I could only edit this video in 1080, but as soon as my new cable arrives which allows me to download the 4k footage from my drone to my phone, I will bring you even more stunning recordings. Nonetheless, I think the beauty of Towen Beach morethan compensates for the reduced video quality.

Hello and welcome back for another look over Nettuno from the Italian skies. This video was shot over Nettuno beach and with its unique perspective, my Drone (Phantom 3 Pro) has captured all the beauty of this gorgeous coastline. Using some basic editing software, I have pieced together the best bits of footage(Of which there was alot!) and created a nice little video for you to watch.
Flying my drone in such a public place is always a little worrying as I'm never quite sure how people will react. The Phantom 3 is a bit of beast, unlike the Mavic Pro which almost fits into your palm. The size of my drone coupled with the noise it makes does tend to get people's attention but on this occasion, I was lucky enough to be given the all-clear by the local lifeguard. Funnily enough, when he first approached he asked if I was filming a documentary... HaHa! I wish I was that good. After my girlfriend's brother helped out with the English-to-Italian translations, explaining that I was just a regular drone-geek, the lifeguard just instructed me to keep my drone over the water.
"Chocks away old boy!"
As you'll see in the video, I pretty much kept to my promise but the temptation to fly over Nettuno's Cathederal was just too much.
