Welcome to Episode 27; featuring STEVE RAYNOR. House

A native of Middlesbrough (UK) Steve Rayner has now been based in Ireland for the past 15 years and is the host of Hooked Radio Show Weds drivetime 6pm bi-weekly.

His passion for music started in the 90’s which took him on journey from playing in Indie Bands through to club promotion. Music led the way in his education too studying music for 5 years through a 2 year performance course to a 3 year degree in Music Industry Management. This inevitably led to starting a career in the music industry.

Steve worked for Defected Records during the early days in Soho before moving on to A & R roles at BackYard and Black Gold Records. During this period in London DJ’ing was a huge part of life holding several London residencies in Covent Garden, Soho and Chelsea as well as playing many European gigs and tour managing Defected artists.

These days the focus is on his business career but still spends all his spare time producing House and Tech House tracks in his studio as well as presenting Hooked Radio which showcases upfront Tech House and House tracks on a weekly basis. Future plans are to develop the Hooked show further to include a club residency and festival presence as well as track releases and collaborations.

Hooked Radio Show can be watched or listened to on PHEVER:TV-Radio (every 2nd Wednesday 6-8pmUTC) and other affiliate platforms globally.

A native of Middlesbrough (UK) Steve Rayner has now been based in Ireland for the past 15 years and is the host of Hooked Radio Show Weds drivetime 6pm bi-weekly.

His passion for music started in the 90’s which took him on journey from playing in Indie Bands through to club promotion. Music led the way in his education too studying music for 5 years through a 2 year performance course to a 3 year degree in Music Industry Management. This inevitably led to starting a career in the music industry.

Steve worked for Defected Records during the early days in Soho before moving on to A & R roles at BackYard and Black Gold Records. During this period in London DJ’ing was a huge part of life holding several London residencies in Covent Garden, Soho and Chelsea as well as playing many European gigs and tour managing Defected artists.

These days the focus is on his business career but still spends all his spare time producing House and Tech House tracks in his studio as well as presenting Hooked Radio which showcases upfront Tech House and House tracks on a weekly basis. Future plans are to develop the Hooked show further to include a club residency and festival presence as well as track releases and collaborations.

Hooked Radio Show can be watched or listened to on PHEVER:TV-Radio (every 2nd Wednesday6-8pmUTC) and other affiliate platforms globally.

The DirtBirdz comprises of childhood friends David Byrne & Ian Ball who play everything from Deep House To Heavy Techno and pride themselves on Their Back 2 Back sets which they have been doing for over a decade. Tasty House mix from Friday 'Housify' resident Kev Murtagh aka Axial...
Hailing from Dublin Ireland, 22 year old DJ / Producer Kevin Murtagh has been making the most of his short time within the scene, showcasing his talent to promote the unique underground flavour of Deep Minimal House, which is a very niche sound on Irish shores. Recently rebranding his work under his new alias 'AXIAL', he has worked tirelessly to catapult himself deep into the industry, by providing countless guest mixes to various nationwide collectives, taking up music production and playing gigs in the likes of 39/40 & The Turks Head in Dublin.

By enrolling in the BIFE Music Production course in South Dublin, taught by Doug Cooney and Sunil Sharpe, along with his first track release entitled 'MIRROR' with Feedback Recordings in Edinburgh, AXIAL hopes to take his production to the next level going into the future, progressing upon his already released cuts. He is a Phever Platform team resident with his bi-weekly show entitled 'Hausify' in which he has held down since May 2020 and a resident writer for Scottish label 'Project Radio' where he loves to promote the Irish scene and cover interesting topics in regard to the industry.

While Dot-E M, a native of Dublin, has been listening to, dancing to, and playing electronic music for 25+ years, he has only recently started putting his selections and mixes out to a wider audience via Phever (‘the sound of the Irish underground’). He was encouraged by others to do so having won a DJing competition in 2019 (where he got to open for Liquid, whose music he has always been a big fan of). A firm believer in not being bound by labels or genres, Dot-E M is as likely to mix a track from 1990 into one from 2021, as he is to produce a ‘straight’ mix of contemporary techno. It all depends on the mood. Whatever the era or genre, the only criteria for playing a track are its quality and danceability.
