Sermons, Seminars, Classes, Q&A's, and Discussions from Pastor Nick Deford and others who join at First Nazarene Church in Zephyrhills Florida. We talk about Jesus-Who he was, is and what he is doing. We look at how that intersects us where we are and what he is calling us to do as we work alongside him.
Are you on the narrow path that leads to life, or are you drifting along the wide road that leads to destruction? In this powerful message, Pastor Nick explores the reality of heaven and hell, the coming Day of Judgment, and what it means to have your name written in the Book of Life.
Drawing from key Scriptures—Matthew 7:13-14, Revelation 20:11-15, John 5:28-29, and more—this sermon challenges us to look beyond our outward actions and examine the true state of our hearts. Pastor Nick reminds us that all of our deeds, thoughts, and motives are known to God, and that salvation cannot be earned through good works, religious ritual, or family history. Instead, eternal life is a gift, freely offered through faith in Jesus Christ, His sacrifice, and His resurrection.
You’ll also hear real-life reflections and stories of near-death experiences that point to the urgency of making a decision for Christ today. Don’t wait until tomorrow—eternity hangs in the balance. Whether you’ve grown up in church or are just beginning to explore faith, this message will challenge, encourage, and invite you to experience the transforming love of God.
If you sense God stirring in your heart, we invite you to respond and take the next step in faith. For prayer, questions, or to connect with our church family, leave a comment below or reach out directly. Don’t miss this opportunity—today is the day of salvation!
00:05 - Narrow path leads to eternal life.
04:46 - Scripture warns of coming eternal judgment
13:06 - Eternity demands a decision made now.
14:14 - Personal faith, not heritage, brings salvation.
30:11 - Urgent call to accept Christ today
The sermon points to the Bible’s “end goal” as not simply Christians leaving earth to go to heaven, but Jesus returning to renew creation—bringing “new heavens and a new earth” where God dwells with His people forever. Nick emphasizes that Revelation (especially chapter 21) is meant to produce hope, not fear: God will make all things new, wipe away every tear, end death and pain, and bring His finished work to its final fulfillment.
He connects this future renewal to the whole storyline of Scripture: God’s presence with humanity in Eden, the brokenness and suffering creation experiences now, and the promise that present sufferings can’t compare to coming glory. Creation itself “groans” for restoration, and believers are called to live in patient endurance and holiness while waiting for Christ’s return—already citizens of earthly nations, but with ultimate allegiance and citizenship belonging to God’s kingdom.
The sermon also holds together hope and warning. Heaven is described as the full presence of God, while hell is the full removal of God’s presence—an eternal separation chosen by those who reject Him. Revelation’s list of sins is used to show the seriousness of judgment and the need for repentance, while also reminding listeners that salvation rests in Jesus, who was God’s plan from the beginning, not an afterthought.
Nick acknowledges that faithful Christians may disagree on details of end-times teaching, and he doesn’t claim to have every answer. But the main invitation is clear: don’t delay responding to Christ. Trust Him, stay faithful, and live now in light of the coming day when Jesus completes what He began—renewing the world and bringing His people into eternal life with God in the new creation.
Paul’s letters to the Thessalonian church were written to reassure believers who were shaken by persecution and confused about what happens when Jesus returns—especially worried that Christians who had already died might “miss out.”
The sermon explains that Scripture repeatedly calls the church to live with hopeful expectation because Jesus really will return, but not on a date we can predict. His return will be visible and unmistakable—coming from heaven in the clouds—and it will bring both mourning for those who have clung to sin and refused his rule, and comfort for those who belong to him. Jesus is portrayed as “faithful and true,” the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, returning with absolute authority to defeat evil and establish his reign.
A key comfort comes from 1 Thessalonians 4: when Jesus descends with a shout, the voice of an archangel, and the trumpet of God, “the dead in Christ” will rise first. Those believers are not forgotten; they are the first to be raised and the first to meet the Lord. Then living believers will be caught up with them to meet Jesus, and from that moment they will be with him forever. This hope is meant to steady grieving hearts and replace fear with encouragement.

What if the fire you once had for Jesus has quietly burned down to embers? Pastor Nick unpacks Christ's sobering letter to the church of Ephesus in Revelation 2—a congregation doing everything right yet missing the one thing that matters most: their first love for Jesus. Like a marriage that drifts from passionate devotion into comfortable routine, faith can quietly lose its flame. Pastor Nick offers a powerful three-step path back—remember, repent, return. Don't let religion replace relationship. Watch or listen now—you don't want to miss this one.
The first half of this audio is from missionary pastor Kirby McMunn, sharing about his family's missionary work in Poděbrady, Czechia.
The second half is Pastor Nick's sermon from Revelation 2.
What if the very road God sends you down looks like a dead end—a desert path with no clear destination? In Acts 8:25–40, Philip demonstrates radical, Spirit-led obedience when an angel commands him to leave a thriving revival in Samaria and travel alone to a barren desert road. There, in what Pastor Nick calls a divine appointment written across centuries, Philip encounters an Ethiopian eunuch—a powerful royal treasurer who had traveled 1,200 miles to worship at the Jerusalem temple, only to be turned away because of who he was. Yet this man refused to let rejection define his pursuit of God; he bought a scroll of Isaiah and kept seeking. Pastor Nick draws a powerful parallel between Philip's journey and his own friend John—a stonemason-turned-pastor who delivered a breathtaking message of hope at his own son's funeral—reminding us that God doesn't define us by who we were, but by who He's calling us to become. Just as Philip was obedient without knowing the full roadmap, and just as God miraculously provided water in the desert for baptism, God will provide everything you need for the mission He places before you. Don't silence the voice of the Spirit—respond today, step onto your desert road, and trust that He has already gone ahead of you.
What if the very people meant to welcome others into faith have instead become the gatekeepers keeping them out? Pastor Nick delivered a powerful message rooted in Acts 15, where Jewish believers demanded Gentile Christians follow the entire law of Moses before being accepted—a burden, Peter declared, that "neither our ancestors nor we have been able to bear." Pastor Nick's distinctive insight cuts to the heart: when we appoint ourselves as the Holy Spirit's enforcement arm—targeting others with our personal convictions and spiritual timelines—we don't sharpen people's faith, we orphan them from it. He reminded the congregation that the Spirit of God knows every person more intimately than they know themselves, and He has a sovereign, perfectly timed plan to reveal truth to each heart. Whether you've been wounded by someone else's spiritual gatekeeping or quietly guilty of imposing your own convictions on others, grace meets you right there. The two great commandments—love God completely, love your neighbor as yourself—fulfill everything. Don't wait for someone else's permission to pursue Jesus. Stop standing in the way of others. And if God nudges you toward that one person today, don't hesitate—go.
What happens when a young pastor faces an impossible city? Pastor Nick paints the vivid backdrop of ancient Ephesus—a place where demon-possessed men beat seven exorcists bloody and naked, where million-dollar collections of magic books burned in public squares, and where riots erupted over declining idol sales. Into this spiritual battlefield, the Apostle Paul sent young Timothy with a charge that still echoes today: "Preach the message. Be ready, whether it is convenient or not." Pastor Nick reveals how Paul's final words to Timothy weren't just ancient history—they're a blueprint for faithful ministry in our own chaotic times. When people "accumulate teachers for themselves because they have an insatiable curiosity to hear new things" and "turn away from hearing the truth," the church needs leaders who will burn their compromise like those Ephesian magicians burned their books. Paul's drink offering—poured out completely, never to be reclaimed—challenges us to examine what we're truly willing to sacrifice for the Gospel. The time for casual Christianity is over; Christ is calling His church to compete for the crown, not for our own glory, but to cast it at His feet in victory.
What happens when the very foundations of faith clash with the powers that demand silence? Pastor Nick opens Acts 5 with a stunning scene—apostles imprisoned for healing in Jesus' name, miraculously freed by an angel, only to return boldly to the temple courts at daybreak to preach again. When confronted by furious religious leaders who demanded they stop, Peter's response cuts through centuries: "We must obey God rather than people." Nick challenges us to examine our own courage, pointing out how easily we've compromised when governments, culture, or even church denominations pressure us to soften the gospel's sharp edges. He reminds us that Christianity doesn't exist without God's power behind it—we're not here for fancy buildings or free coffee, but because the Spirit of God is real and active. The apostles rejoiced after being beaten because persecution meant they were on target, doing exactly what God called them to do. Nick asks the piercing question: what keeps you from sharing your faith boldly? Whether it's not knowing how, lacking non-Christian friends, or fear of friction, he calls us to insert ourselves into situations where unbelievers need to see Christ in action. Don't let comfort rob you of the privilege of proclaiming the name that heals, delivers, and saves—step into the uncomfortable spaces where Jesus is needed most.
What if the chains you can't see are stronger than the ones you can? Paul and Silas sang hymns in a Roman dungeon while prisoners listened—their freedom wasn't from open doors but from something deeper. Pastor Nick reveals how even believers can stay shackled by compromises they once rejected, finding balance instead of breakthrough. Wrestling with what's holding you back from full devotion? This message challenges you to ask Christ what He needs to remove, promising the same liberation those prisoners witnessed. Don't miss this call to true freedom—listen now!
What if your "church face" might actually be testing God's patience? When Ananias and Sapphira sold property and lied about their donation to the early church, they weren't struck down for being stingy—they died for faking their worship while trying to look generous. Pastor Nick reveals how this shocking story isn't about money but about authentic foundations in our faith. As believers pooled resources with "one heart and mind," God was building His church on radical honesty, not religious performance. Ready to strip away pretense and discover what genuine worship looks like? Don't miss this foundation-shaking message that could transform how you approach God!
What if God is calling you to step into something bigger than what you've been ignoring? In Acts 10, Pastor Nick reveals a stunning truth: while a God-fearing Roman centurion named Cornelius was faithfully praying and giving to the poor, God orchestrated a divine collision that would change everything. Through simultaneous visions—Peter's shocking revelation about "unclean" foods and Cornelius's angelic encounter—God shattered religious barriers and expanded His kingdom beyond anyone's expectations. Nick's powerful insight challenges us: sometimes the very people we least expect are running toward God faster than we are, responding to His call with greater devotion than our comfortable faith allows. This isn't just about ancient history—it's about recognizing that God is actively seeking you right now, not just the other way around. While some of us treat God's invitations like optional RSVPs we'll "get to later," others are receiving divine summons that demand immediate response. The Holy Spirit showed up before Peter even finished preaching, proving that God's methods don't follow our formulas. Your SHAPE assessment isn't just sitting on a shelf—it's God's blueprint for how He wants to use your unique gifts, heart, abilities, personality, and experiences for His kingdom purposes. Stop ignoring the calling that's been knocking at your door. What divine appointment is God orchestrating in your life today?
Ever wondered why God seems to use ordinary people in extraordinary ways? Nick reveals how Paul spent about 11 years faithfully ministering in obscurity before Barnabas arrived with a life-changing invitation to step up. Sometimes God prepares us quietly before calling us to something bigger—like the believers in Antioch who sacrificially gave to help strangers 300 miles away in Jerusalem. Their generosity and Paul's readiness created a launching pad for world-changing ministry. Ready to discover your kingdom purpose? Don't stay comfortable in your "hometown" when God might be knocking—tune in and step into what He's prepared for you!
Can you imagine carrying murderous rage so deep it drives every breath you take? Saul was breathing threats of death against Christians when a blinding light stopped him cold—Jesus himself asking, "Why are you persecuting me?" Pastor Nick reveals how this zealous persecutor became history's greatest missionary, showing us that no past is too dark for God's redemption. Whether you're battling anger, questioning your purpose, or wondering if God can use your story, this message will ignite hope in your heart. Don't miss this powerful transformation—dive in now!
What happens when a gentle Christian leader becomes so powerfully filled with the Holy Spirit that religious authorities can't resist his wisdom? Pastor Nick reveals the explosive story of Stephen, the first Christian martyr, whose radical faith shook the foundations of Jerusalem. Drawing from Acts 6-7, Nick challenges us to see the church not as a comfortable social club but as the ecclesia—the "called out ones" marked by supernatural power and unwavering courage. He reminds us that Stephen wasn't just serving tables; he was performing miracles and preaching with such authority that educated opponents couldn't refute his wisdom. Yet when facing execution, Stephen's response wasn't vengeance but forgiveness, even praying for those stoning him to death. Nick powerfully connects this to our modern church, asking whether we're truly seeking the dunamis power of the Holy Spirit or simply showing up on Sundays with our "game face" on. He challenges us to prepare our hearts before worship, to seek God's filling for ministry, and to serve the overlooked through initiatives like Action 6. The message culminates with a sobering reminder: if we're not facing some opposition for our faith, we might not be living with enough Holy Spirit power. Are you ready to be part of the called out ones who transform their community through supernatural love and courage?
What if the Holy Spirit is stirring something deeper in your soul than just Sunday morning religion? Three thousand souls were "acutely distressed" by Peter's Pentecost message—cut to the heart like a medical diagnosis requiring immediate treatment. Pastor Nick unpacks how these early believers didn't just receive salvation but embraced Jesus as both Savior AND Lord, diving into four essential practices: apostles' teaching, fellowship, breaking bread, and prayer. As our church continues studying scripture together and growing in community, this message challenges you to move beyond comfortable Christianity to serious discipleship. Don't miss this powerful call to authentic faith—watch now and let the Spirit cut through to your heart!
What if God's greatest mission for your life is waiting just beyond your doubt? Pastor Nick reveals how the risen Christ spent 40 deliberate days equipping his disciples—not just proving his resurrection with evidence like the mysterious Shroud of Turin, but correcting their bad theology and preparing them for the Holy Spirit's power. Just as Peter transformed from an impulsive follower to a scripture-quoting leader, Christ wants to move you from uncertainty to unshakeable faith. Whether you're battling questions about God's reality or seeking deeper purpose, this message offers both compelling evidence and practical hope. Don't miss this foundation-shaking encouragement!
What if the empty tomb isn't just history but your personal invitation to stop seeking life in places of death? Pastor Nick shares how the women found angels declaring Christ's resurrection, yet we still search for fulfillment in materialism, broken relationships, and pride—the same temptations Satan used in Eden. Through vivid teaching on spiritual warfare and practical discipleship steps, Nick challenges us to arm ourselves with God's truth and find real life in the risen Savior. Ready to trade death for life? Watch this transformative Easter message now!
What if Jesus's victory tour through hell holds the key to your breakthrough? Pastor Nick unpacks a fascinating passage most preachers skip—revealing how Christ's descent into the spiritual realm wasn't just ancient history, but a declaration of His total authority that echoes into your life today. Through compelling insights from ancient texts and modern scholarship, discover how Jesus's resurrection wasn't just about coming back to life—it was about establishing His reign over every power and principality. Whether you're wrestling with uncertainty or hungry for deeper faith, this message illuminates how Christ's triumph becomes your victory. Don't miss this fresh perspective on Easter's power to transform your present reality!
Have you ever wondered what really happened in Jesus's final hours? Through the haunting narrative of Christ's crucifixion, Pastor Nick reveals how a hardened Roman centurion's heart transformed from executioner to believer. Journey from the mockery and torture to the supernatural darkness and torn temple curtain, discovering how Jesus's sacrificial death opened paradise—even to a dying thief who simply asked to be remembered. This powerful message reminds us that no one is beyond God's grace, whether you're a lifelong believer or just beginning to explore faith. Let this story of history's pivotal moment draw you closer to the One who died to make a way for you. Watch now to experience the full impact of this life-changing truth.
Have you ever caught yourself hiding your faith when the pressure's on? In Matthew 26, we witness Peter's gut-wrenching denial of Jesus—a powerful reminder that even the boldest believers can falter. Pastor Nick masterfully unpacks this pivotal moment, showing how Peter's journey from denial to restoration mirrors our own struggles to stand firm in our faith. Whether you're wrestling with doubt or seeking strength to live boldly for Christ, this message offers hope and practical wisdom for staying faithful when tested. Don't miss this transformative exploration of courage, conviction, and Christ's unfailing love. Watch now to discover how to move from fear to unshakeable faith!
Have you ever felt crushed under life's unbearable weight? In Mark 14, we witness Jesus in his darkest hour at Gethsemane—the place of pressing—where he faces betrayal, abandonment, and the looming cross. Pastor Nick reveals how Jesus' anguished prayers teach us to face our own seasons of crushing pressure. Through vivid imagery of ancient olive presses, we see how being pressed can release either bitterness or the sweet oil of God's presence. This message offers hope and practical wisdom for anyone feeling squeezed by life's circumstances. Don't miss this transformative journey through Jesus' most vulnerable moment—watch now to discover how to find supernatural strength when everything feels like it's falling apart.
Have you ever wondered what it truly means to be in partnership with God? Pastor Nick explores this profound question through the lens of Jesus's last Passover meal, where ancient tradition meets revolutionary new meaning. Drawing from Mark 14, he reveals how Jesus transformed the familiar Passover elements into powerful symbols of a new covenant—his broken body and shed blood offering healing and wholeness to all who accept him. This deeply personal message illuminates how Christ's sacrifice bridges our brokenness to God's redemption. Don't miss this compelling exploration of what it means to move from ritual remembrance to living relationship with Jesus.
Have you ever wondered what drives someone to pour out their most precious possession as an act of devotion? In this powerful message, Pastor Nick explores a pivotal moment in Jesus' ministry when the tide began turning against him, even as some demonstrated radical faith. Through the story of Mary breaking an alabaster jar of expensive perfume to anoint Jesus, we see how true discipleship often requires breaking open our lives in complete surrender to Christ. Pastor Nick weaves together Jesus' interactions with religious leaders, his raising of Lazarus, and Mary's extravagant gift to illuminate how people either fully commit to Jesus or turn away when counting the cost. He connects this to modern trends, noting encouraging signs of spiritual awakening among younger generations while warning against Satan's attempts to keep us from full commitment to Christ. The message culminates in a challenge to the congregation at their own crossroads - will they, like Mary, break open their lives in complete devotion to Jesus rather than maintaining a safe, mediocre faith?
What if the gates of hell themselves could become ground zero for God's greatest victories? In Mark 8, Pastor Nick takes us to Caesarea Philippi—a dark place of pagan worship and spiritual darkness—where Jesus poses history's most crucial question: "Who do you say I am?" Through Peter's bold confession of Christ, we discover Jesus' stunning strategy: building His church on seemingly hopeless ground and transforming places of darkness into launching pads for kingdom advance. This message challenges us to move beyond comfortable Christianity and join Christ's "raiders of hell," bringing hope to the darkest corners of our community. Don't miss this inspiring call to storm the gates of evil with the unstoppable power of God's love.
Jesus—filled with the Holy Spirit, armed with Scripture, and strengthened through 40 days of fasting—confronts Satan at His physically weakest yet spiritually strongest moment. Through this pivotal encounter, we discover that victory over temptation isn't won through our own strength, but through spiritual preparation and complete reliance on God. Don't miss this powerful message about how Christ's triumph becomes our pathway to overcoming life's battles through the Spirit's filling. Tune in now to learn how to walk in His victory!
Have you ever wondered what sets true faith apart from mere human invention? Pastor Nick takes us on a compelling journey through history, contrasting manufactured religions with the authentic testimony of John the Baptist. With vivid examples from Islam to Mormonism, he reveals how single-person revelations crumble under scrutiny, while John's humble witness to Jesus stands uniquely verified by multiple witnesses and transformed lives. Whether you're questioning what makes Christianity different or seeking deeper spiritual authenticity, this message illuminates how true faith isn't built on private revelations but on public testimony and changed hearts. Don't miss this powerful exploration of genuine faith versus human invention—watch now to discover why John's declaration of Jesus as "the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world" still transforms lives today.
Have you ever wondered what treasures lie within the pages of God's Word? Pastor Nick shares a powerful encounter from Jesus' youth—when his parents frantically searched Jerusalem, only to find their 12-year-old son deep in spiritual discussion at the temple. Through this glimpse of young Jesus "being about his Father's business," we discover a timely challenge for 2026: to treasure God's Word and let it transform us. Pastor Nick invites us to join him in reading through the entire Bible this year, not to become scholars, but to experience its living power to heal, guide, and draw us closer to God. Don't miss this inspiring message about making God's Word your heart's greatest treasure!
Have you ever wondered how God works through life's unexpected detours? In Matthew 2, we witness an extraordinary journey of faith as Joseph and Mary flee to Egypt with baby Jesus, escaping Herod's murderous plot. Pastor Nick reveals how God orchestrated prophecy fulfillment through seemingly chaotic circumstances, from divine dreams to political upheaval. Like Joseph, who listened and obeyed God's whispers in the night, we're challenged to quiet ourselves before God to hear His direction. Whether facing trials or transitions, this message reminds us that God works powerfully through our willingness to follow His voice, even when the path seems uncertain. Don't miss this inspiring exploration of how God transforms our detours into divine appointments!
What does it mean to truly embrace Jesus beyond the manger? Pastor Nick challenges us to consider Simeon's profound encounter with the infant Christ—a moment that revealed both promise and warning. Through vivid connections between ancient Jewish redemption practices and Jesus' birth, we discover that while we cherish the baby Jesus of Christmas, we must also confront the grown Savior who "lays bare the thoughts of our hearts." This timely message invites us to celebrate Christmas with deeper meaning by fully receiving Christ in both His gentle and transformative power. Watch now to prepare your heart for a richer holiday experience.
What does it truly mean to make room for Jesus in our lives? In a powerful exploration of Luke 2:6-7, Pastor Nick unveils how God's perfect timing orchestrated Christ's birth through centuries of preparation. From the promised land flowing with milk and honey 1,400 years earlier which placed shepherds and their flocks near Bethlehem when Jesus was born, to Daniel's ministry in Babylon 700 years before as he taight the Magi to look for a sign in the sky, God meticulously arranged every detail. Yet tragically, when the moment arrived, there was "no room in the inn" for the Savior. Pastor Nick challenges us to examine our own lives, confessing how we often crowd out Christ with activities and distractions, leaving no room for Jesus just as those who turned away Mary and Joseph. He calls us to "drill down on our faithfulness" during life's mundane seasons, building a foundation of faith through consistent Bible study and discipleship. The urgent message is clear - while Jesus promises room for us in heaven eternally, we must intentionally make room for Him in our daily lives now. Through vivid storytelling and vulnerable personal examples, Pastor Nick compels us to evaluate where Christ ranks in our priorities and take action to put Him first.
Have you ever wondered what it feels like to witness a miracle unfold? Pastor Kendall takes us on a captivating journey through Luke's Gospel, where two impossible pregnancies herald the arrival of humanity's greatest hope. Through the intertwining stories of Elizabeth, an elderly woman deemed barren, and Mary, a young virgin, we see God's perfect plan taking shape after 400 years of divine silence. The pastor unpacks how Zechariah's temple service, chosen by lot against thousand-to-one odds, became the backdrop for heaven's announcement. Elizabeth's shame of childlessness transforms into joy, while Mary's courageous acceptance of God's call demonstrates extraordinary faith despite potential scandal. Pastor Kendall brings these ancient narratives to life with relatable modern parallels, reminding us that God still answers long-awaited prayers and works miracles today. His message culminates in an urgent invitation to embrace the advent season with renewed wonder, challenging us to recognize how God continues to work through willing hearts and impossible situations to accomplish His divine purposes.
Have you ever felt God's silence in your life? In Luke's Gospel, we meet Zechariah—a faithful priest serving in God's temple after 400 years of divine silence. Pastor Nick reveals how this ordinary man's encounter with the angel Gabriel marked the moment God dramatically broke His silence. Through Zechariah's enforced period of muteness, we discover the transformative power of holy silence and listening. This timely message challenges us to move beyond mere religious routine to experience genuine spiritual awakening. Watch or listen now to discover how God might be inviting you into a deeper season of listening and expectancy!
In his message about rediscovering spiritual vitality, Pastor challenges believers to break free from religious routine and embrace the vibrant joy of salvation. Drawing from Malachi's final prophetic words, he paints a vivid picture of God's desire for His people to "leap like calves released from the stall" - not merely trudging through faith, but celebrating it with unbridled enthusiasm. Through the story of the healed beggar who immediately began jumping and praising God, Pastor illustrates how genuine encounters with Jesus should transform our spiritual posture from limping to leaping. He offers practical steps for rekindling this joy: cultivating daily thanksgiving, actively sharing our faith story, and serving others generously. The message culminates in a stirring call to action: let our visible joy in Christ become so compelling that others are drawn to ask about the source of our hope. "We're selling the Gospel short," he warns, when we reduce Christianity to mere rule-following instead of embracing the abundant life Jesus died to give us.
In a powerful exploration of Isaiah's prophecy, Pastor Nick unveils the profound sacrifice of Jesus Christ with heart-wrenching clarity. Through vivid descriptions of Christ's suffering - from rejection by His own people to the brutal physical torture He endured - we witness a love so deep it defies human understanding. The sermon masterfully connects Isaiah's ancient words to their fulfillment in Jesus, emphasizing how the Messiah willingly bore our punishment though He was completely innocent. Pastor Nick brings this truth home with a compelling challenge: many of us have received Christ's gift of salvation but keep parts of our lives held back, treating it like an unwrapped present that remains unrealized. His urgent call reminds us that God patiently transforms us, not demanding everything at once, but inviting us to yield our lives fully to Him - from our digital distractions to our deepest struggles. Through the powerful story of Philip and the Ethiopian eunuch, we see that no one is beyond God's acceptance and the transformative power of His Word.
What happens when God's appointed leaders abdicate their authority? Through the dramatic story of Ahab, Jezebel, and Jehu, Pastor Nick illuminated how one weak king's failure to lead opened the door to devastating spiritual corruption. When Ahab surrendered his God-given authority to his pagan wife Jezebel, she systematically destroyed true worship, murdered God's prophets, and led Israel into idolatry. Her influence was so toxic that God ordained her violent demise - thrown from a window and trampled by horses, with dogs consuming her remains. This ancient account carries urgent warnings for today, as the "spirit of Jezebel" still seeks to undermine biblical authority and God's design for masculinity and femininity. Pastor Nick challenged men to step fully into their leadership roles as Christ-following heads of their households, while encouraging women to support godly leadership through prayer and example rather than seeking to dominate. Just as Adam's passive silence in Eden brought sin into the world, spiritual passivity today creates space for destructive influences. The answer lies not in cultural warfare but in men and women embracing their God-given identities and standing firm against Satan's attempts to distort them.
What if our deepest struggles are actually God's refining fire? In a message exploring the life of David, Pastor Nick reveals how this "man after God's own heart" was shaped through both wilderness seasons and personal failures. Drawing from 1 Samuel 16, we see how God looked past outward appearances to choose an overlooked shepherd boy, seeing David's teachable heart despite his future stumbles. Through vivid examples - from David's patient preparation as a shepherd to his devastating moral failures with Bathsheba - Pastor Nick illustrates how God uses our crucible moments to burn away impurities and forge deeper faith. While David wasn't perfect, his consistent pattern of genuine repentance distinguished him. Rather than wallowing in sin or deflecting conviction, he allowed God's correction to restore him to righteousness. The message culminates in highlighting how Jesus, the ultimate "Son of David," perfectly fulfilled what David only partially achieved - being both the Good Shepherd and sinless King who leads us to the Father's heart. Pastor Nick challenges us to stop resisting God's refining work and instead embrace how He's shaping us through trials into something beautiful and useful for His purposes.
What does true leadership look like in God's eyes? In this message, Guest Preacher Rob Nemeth unpacks the cautionary tale of King Saul to reveal striking parallels between ancient Israel's desire for a commanding ruler and our modern tendency to choose charismatic but spiritually compromised leaders. Through careful examination of Samuel's warnings and Saul's tragic reign, Pastor Rob illuminates how Israel rejected God's model of servant leadership in Samuel for an impressive but ultimately disobedient king. The heart of the message centers on our own choices today - do we want a Savior who simply makes us comfortable, or are we willing to submit to Christ's complete lordship? Drawing from both Old Testament history and contemporary cultural examples, Pastor Rob challenges us to examine who truly rules our hearts. He powerfully concludes that while Jesus is widely embraced as Savior, He must also be Lord of our lives for genuine transformation to occur. The urgent call is clear: we must choose today between following cultural Christianity that affirms our desires or submitting to the biblical Christ who transforms them.
What if the most powerful weapon against oppression isn't a sword, but a reminder of God's faithfulness? In Pastor Nick's compelling exploration of Judges 3, we meet Ehud, a left-handed warrior who encounters a pivotal moment at the stones of Gilgal. These weren't just any stones – they were monuments of God's miraculous deliverance of Israel through the Jordan River. Seeing these stones rekindled Ehud's courage to free Israel from 18 years of oppressive tribute to King Eglon of Moab. Pastor Nick masterfully connects this ancient story to our modern struggles, reminding us that while we often pay "tribute" to things that enslave us – whether addictions, false ideologies, or worldly systems – our true battle isn't against people but spiritual forces. Just as the stones of Gilgal reminded Israel of God's faithfulness, communion serves as our monument of Christ's ultimate victory. The urgent call rings clear: Will we continue paying tribute to what destroys us, or will we, like Ehud, find courage in remembering God's faithfulness and stand firm in Christ's freedom?

In today's sermon, Pastor Nick focused on the themes of leadership, commitment, and the consequences of disobedience as he explored the story of Nehemiah. He recapped how the Israelites faced exile due to their repeated disobedience to God's laws, leading to the destruction of Jerusalem and the rebuilding of the temple. After 70 years, Nehemiah, upon hearing about the poor state of his ancestral city, prayed fervently and received permission from the Persian king to return and lead the effort to restore not just the physical city but the spiritual commitment of its people. Throughout his time as governor, Nehemiah and Ezra helped instigate a significant spiritual revival among the people, who promised to adhere to God's laws, illustrating the importance of community and mutual accountability in faith. However, the message took a serious turn when Pastor Nick highlighted how quickly the Israelites fell back into disobedience during Nehemiah's absence. He pointed out that poor leadership and neglect of spiritual duties led to corruption among the priests and a decline in worship practices, including breaking the Sabbath and intermarrying with non-believers. Pastor Nick noted Nehemiah's return and his zealous actions to restore order in the temple and the practices of worship. The sermon culminated in a reminder that true worship and commitment to God must be reflected in every aspect of life, encouraging the congregation to take personal responsibility for their faith. He challenges listeners to consider their roles as gatekeepers in today's context, encouraging prayer and spiritual vigilance to create an environment infused with God's presence. "Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere," he reminds, stressing that the essence of worship goes beyond music and rituals to a heartfelt connection with God. He encourages the congregation to confess their sins to one another, as there is power in communal accountability. The sermon culminates in a call for deeper prayer and a personal commitment to God's guidance, rather than merely going through the motions of religion. He highlighted the account from Matthew 27, in which the chief priests and Pharisees, motivated by fear of losing their influence, secured Jesus' tomb to prevent His disciples from claiming He had risen from the dead. Pastor Nick emphasized the irony that these supposed religious leaders, who should have recognized Jesus’ divinity, instead chose to reject Him due to their own vested interests and power. As Pastor Nick elaborated on the implications of Jesus' death and resurrection, he encouraged the congregation to reflect on their own lives and the areas where they might be keeping Jesus "dead" through distractions and priorities that push Him aside. He called upon his audience to recognize the transformative power of Christ and to embrace the new life He offers. Highlighting the personal nature of faith, Pastor Nick urged anyone who had not made a commitment to Christ to consider making that decision, emphasizing that true life is found only through accepting Jesus. He stresses that entry into the eternal "Lamb's Book of Life" is not based on deeds, but rather on faith in Jesus Christ. He challenges each person to evaluate their relationship with Christ, emphasizing the importance of being born again and ensuring that their name is written in that vital heavenly record. Concluding, he calls for a commitment to living authentically as believers, both for their own spiritual vitality and for the impact on their communities.

Pastor Nick relates this struggle to the modern challenges faced by the church, emphasizing the importance of spiritual preparation and the necessity of maintaining integrity and purpose in the midst of adversarial forces. He draws parallels between Nehemiah’s commitment to the welfare of the Israelites and the church's responsibility to advocate for the marginalized and uphold biblical truth. Using Hebrews 12, Pastor Nick encouraged the congregation to remove hindrances that may impede their faith journey and to persist in running the race of life with endurance, always keeping their eyes fixed on Jesus, the source and perfecter of their faith. Pastor Nick also discussed the challenges believers face in maintaining their spiritual growth amidst distractions and doubts. He encouraged congregants to reflect on what hinders their faith and to engage with God about their struggles. He likened the process of faith development to kneading dough, emphasizing that God often requires us to be stretched and molded to grow stronger in faith. Ultimately, he reminded everyone that intentional effort is essential in the Christian life, reinforcing that faith is built through focused action, prayer, and community support, as they all seek to deepen their relationship with Christ.

Pastor Nick encourages the congregation to cultivate a mindset that values and prioritizes children in the church, illustrating that they hold a significant place in God's kingdom. Ultimately, he calls for a shift in perspective, urging believers to recognize the profound lessons in childlike faith and to actively nurture the next generation within the faith community.
Pastor Nick discussed a passage from Mark 10, where Jesus rebukes his disciples for turning away children who want to come to him, emphasizing that the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. He highlighted the importance of approaching faith with the awe and simplicity of a child, suggesting that adults often lose this wonder and trust. Pastor also pointed out that the disciples, likely young themselves, had forgotten their own childhood innocence and curiosity. Ultimately, he encouraged the congregation to pray for their children and grandchildren, aiming to create a welcoming environment in the church that reflects Jesus' love for the young and the importance of nurturing the next generation of believers.
Welcome to today's episode of "Life at Stake," where we delve into the profound value of human life through the lens of Scripture. In this week’s message titled "Saving One," we journey into the heart of the Exodus story, exploring the incredible faith and courage of two Hebrew midwives who stood against tyranny to protect innocent lives.
As we dive into Exodus 1, we discover a time of oppression where the Israelites faced unimaginable hardships under a new Pharaoh who sought to extinguish their very existence. Yet, in this dark hour, the midwives Shiphrah and Puah fearlessly defy orders to commit infanticide, choosing instead to honor God and save the precious lives of the children entrusted to them. Their decision not only changed the fate of many but also reverberated through the pages of history.
In our modern world, the battle for human dignity and the sanctity of life continues, raising critical questions about how we, as followers of Christ, can respond. We are reminded that, while we may not be able to change everything, we can certainly make a difference. Just as the midwives were called to protect the vulnerable, we are compelled to stand for those who cannot stand for themselves—be it the unborn, the addicted, or those trapped in despair.
Join us as we unpack this powerful message, reflect on the importance of individual action, and challenge ourselves to "save one." Let’s explore how each of us, in our own little corner of the world, can fulfill this calling and make a lasting impact. Tune in for an inspiring discussion that will encourage you to uphold the value of every human life and embrace the mission God has for you.
In the final week of our Advent series "More Than You Can Imagine", Pastor Nick digs into Isaiah 61 to discover how we can have ultimate Joy in Christ's righteousness.
Interestingly, this is the same passage that Jesus preached from in his first and only sermon at his hometown synagogue. It resulted in them trying to kill Jesus! Fortunately, no one attempted Pastor Nick's death!
Drawing from Isaiah's experiences during his ministry to the kingdom of Judah, Pastor highlights how Isaiah not only addressed the immediate concerns of his people but also pointed towards the coming Messiah, Jesus. The pastor emphasizes that God's promise of joy and restoration is found within the text, as is the theme of rebuilding and reclaiming what was lost. He also connects the verses from Isaiah to the teachings of Jesus, who proclaimed the fulfillment of these scriptures, thereby linking Old Testament prophecy to the New Testament reality of Christ's arrival and mission. Pastor Nick delves deeper into the implications of God's sovereignty over our joy, illustrating how the divine ability to transform mourning into joy is central to understanding our relationship with God. He discusses the importance of living a life that reflects the values of justice and mercy, urging the congregation to see themselves as custodians of spiritual inheritance. Furthermore, he challenges the audience to engage actively in sharing their blessings, not just through financial means but also by investing time and compassion into the lives of others. Pastor concludes by encouraging everyone to experience the profound joy God offers, asserting that through seeking His kingdom, believers can find lasting fulfillment and purpose in their lives.
We discussed something that popped up in this morning's sermon. In Ephesians 4:11, Paul tells us that Jesus gave 5 gifts for the church: Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Shepherds, Teachers. So, we spent a few mins talking about the implications of those gifts on the church.
In his sermon, Pastor Nick reflects on Deuteronomy 18, where Moses speaks of a future prophet who will arise among the Israelites. He delves into Moses' role as a mediator between God and His people, emphasizing the need for discernment in recognizing God’s voice amidst the noise of the world. Drawing from his own experiences, Pastor Nick encourages the congregation to actively seek God’s leading in their lives through practical acts of generosity, such as setting aside a small amount of money to bless those in need, thereby tuning their spiritual ears to God's guidance. Pastor Nick also highlights the importance of understanding how God has continuously raised leaders, including prophets, evangelists, and teachers throughout history. He points to Jesus as the ultimate fulfillment of Moses’ prophecy, explaining that Jesus not only redeems humanity from sin but also equips the church with various gifts to advance His mission. By urging his congregation to embrace their roles within the body of Christ, Pastor Nick inspires them to be active participants in their faith journeys and to follow the calling God has placed upon each of their lives.
Sermon from Psalm 2
In his sermon, Nick explores the contrasting expectations that the Israelites had about the Messiah and the reality of Jesus' arrival and ministry. He emphasizes how, despite their hopes for a powerful and conventional king, Jesus came with a different purpose—bringing a radical message of love, salvation, and the promise of the Holy Spirit. Nick points out how God’s plans often exceed human imagination, reminding the congregation that the ultimate fulfillment of God’s promise is still to come, culminating in Jesus’ eventual return and the establishment of new heavens and a new earth. Nick also discusses the prophetic voice in Scripture, particularly in the Psalms, which not only addressed the immediate concerns of the Israelites but also conveyed timeless truths relevant to today’s world. He highlights themes of justice and caring for the marginalized—widows, orphans, and foreigners—stressing that true worship stems from a heart aligned with God’s values rather than mere ritual. Additionally, he calls on the church to renew its commitment to societal issues, emphasizing the importance of being active in compassionate ministry. Ultimately, Nick challenges the congregation to imagine a future transformed by Christ's love and emboldens them to seek a deeper relationship with God, fostering a community that reflects His justice and grace in every realm of life.
In the sermon, Pastor delves into the story of Abraham and Sarah as outlined in Genesis 17. He emphasizes God’s promises to them, highlighting the covenant and profound significance of faith. The sermon explores how God asked Abraham to believe in a promise that seemed impossible at their advanced ages, showcasing the faith required to trust in God’s plans that transcend human understanding.
Pastor discusses the overarching theme of hope and the belief that God has more in store for each individual than they may realize. He encourages listeners to dream big and reach for God’s promises, reminding them that doubt can cloud spiritual vision and hinder the blessings that await them.
Throughout the sermon, Pastor reflects on how God’s faithfulness to Abraham can inspire believers today to embrace the Holy Spirit’s guiding presence and be open to the transformative power of God’s love, urging the congregation to actively live out this faith in their daily lives.
Listen along to Pastor Kendall's sermon from Psalm 23 for this Thanksgiving week message!
In his sermon, Pastor Nick emphasizes the significance of living a Spirit-filled life, focusing on the ongoing process of being filled with the Holy Spirit. Over the past month, he has been guiding the congregation through various aspects of the fruit of the Spirit and how to cultivate a life that is pleasing to God. He draws parallels between our physical nourishment and spiritual health, illustrating how a life rooted in sinful desires can hinder the growth of good fruit in our lives. Pastor Nick encourages everyone to desire continuous filling of the Holy Spirit, prompting them to seek a deeper relationship with God and walk in His light. Referencing scriptures particularly from Galatians, Pastor Nick highlights the stark contrast between the desires of the flesh and living by the Spirit. He explains that one cannot love their neighbor as themselves while indulging in self-serving behaviors. The pastor also addresses key questions concerning who receives the Holy Spirit, when this occurs, and the importance of being filled at the moment of salvation and through baptism. He stresses the need for love, joy, patience, gentleness, and self-control as evidence of the Spirit's work in our lives. Concluding the message, Pastor Nick appeals for personal reflection on one's spiritual fruitfulness and reassures that God's grace awaits those seeking guidance in their spiritual journey, ultimately setting the stage for a potential revival in the community through genuine faith and love.

In his sermon, Pastor Nick explores the concept of being rooted in the Spirit of God as part of the ongoing "Fruit of the Spirit" series. Drawing parallels between physical nourishment and spiritual well-being, he emphasizes how what we consume—whether in terms of food or spiritual enrichment—directly affects our growth and the fruit we bear in our lives. He highlights the importance of being mindful of our choices, suggesting that many of the activities we indulge in, like excessive consumption of junk food or mindless engagement with social media, may leave us feeling empty, much like a tree that fails to grow because its soil is devoid of nutrients. Pastor Nick challenges the congregation to assess what they are rooted in spiritually. He warns against substituting genuine fulfillment found in God for fleeting earthly pleasures and urges listeners to reflect on their lives, questioning whether they are feeding on experiences that nourish their spirit or simply chasing after momentary satisfaction. Through a scriptural lens, he illustrates that true joy and satisfaction come from being rooted in God's Spirit, which produces lasting fruit such as love and joy. As he prepares for the next part of the series, he leaves the audience with a reflective question: what in their lives needs to be removed to make space for the spiritual nourishment God desires for them?

In the sermon, Pastor delves into the understanding of the Holy Spirit, emphasizing its significance in the life of Christians and how it transcends mere physical and mental existence. He explores the spiritual component of human nature, highlighting that there's an eternal aspect of who we are that continues beyond physical life. The sermon often refers to the celebrations of life, the importance of Jesus' promises of an everlasting life, and the role of the Holy Spirit in connecting believers to God.
Pastor discusses the dual nature of existence, contrasting the desires and instincts of the flesh with the higher calling and spiritual truths revealed by the Holy Spirit. He stresses that acknowledging the spiritual component is crucial, especially in a world that often rejects such notions. Furthermore, he discusses how the Holy Spirit serves as an advocate, guiding Christians toward truth, righteousness, and ultimately leading them to live in accordance with God's will.
Encouraging believers to not compartmentalize their relationship with the Holy Spirit, Pastor calls for full surrender to its guidance, emphasizing the importance of allowing the Holy Spirit to bear fruit in their lives. He reminds the congregation of their duty to confront sin and seek righteousness in a world where truth is often attacked. The essence of the message revolves around the call to recognize and live in the fullness of the Holy Spirit, which transforms lives and influences the broader community positively.
Pastor Nick's opening sermon on the Fruit of the Spirit begins with a message that simply says: God is wanting to do more in your life than you ever could've dreamed. One of the ways he does this is by filling you with His Holy Spirit. The question is this: WHY would any of us want to go through this Christian life, missing out on everything God has for us?!
Jesus and his disciples encounter a fierce storm on the Sea of Galilee. Despite the panic of the disciples, Jesus remains asleep, highlighting His profound peace amidst turmoil. Pastor Nick draws parallels between a youth leader named Rich who exhibited a sense of calm during a storm on a youth mission trip and the tranquility that trust in God can bring, even in life's challenges. He emphasizes that true peace comes from an intimate relationship with Jesus, urging listeners to entrust their lives and circumstances to Him. Just as the disciples were awed by Jesus's authority over nature, Pastor Nick encourages believers to embrace the awe and love of Christ and reminds them of the importance of faith and trust in every situation. Ultimately, Nick calls for a deeper commitment to God, asserting that recognizing His power can transform how one faces the storms of life.
In this sermon, Pastor Nick discusses the profound meaning of baptism, drawing on passages from Galatians and Acts to illustrate his points. He emphasizes that baptism is not merely a ritualistic act or a reset button, but a crucial declaration of faith that signifies a new life in Christ. The sermon highlights the transformative power of baptism as an initiation into a relationship with God, where individuals are called to publicly express their faith. He reminds the congregation that without genuine belief and a willingness to submit to Christ, baptism is merely a physical act devoid of spiritual significance. Through the story of Simon the Sorcerer and the Ethiopian eunuch, Pastor emphasizes that baptism should be a conscious decision fueled by faith and an understanding of its implications. He articulates that baptism is a means of grace, sealing an individual's commitment to God and reflecting the inward transformation that occurs through faith. Nick encourages those considering baptism to examine their beliefs and motivations, highlighting that true faith leads to a deeper understanding of God's work in their lives. Ultimately, he invites the congregation to embrace this journey of faith, reinforcing that baptism is a significant step in expressing their commitment to Christ and His transformative grace.
In this sermon, Pastor Nick explores the concept of Sabbath rest, emphasizing that Jesus is the ultimate fulfillment of that rest. He begins by reflecting on the significance of Sabbath as a divine gift, highlighting that it represents completion and blessing in God's creation. Throughout the sermon, Pastor examines various biblical passages, including Hebrews, Genesis, and Joshua, to establish that true rest is found in Jesus. He explains how Jesus not only fulfills the Old Testament law but also transcends it, offering a new covenant where salvation is freely given and not earned. Pastor discusses the Old Testament narrative of Israel, illustrating how their inability to maintain faith and obedience led to periods of unrest and exile. He contrasts this with Jesus, who offers a permanent solution to the toil of sin and the striving for righteousness through faith. By entering into a relationship with Christ, believers are assured of their rest, as salvation is not based on their works but on God's grace. The sermon concludes with an invitation to embrace the rest that Jesus provides, reminding the congregation that they are called to live out their faith through acts of love and service without the burden of earning their salvation.
We take the time to dig a little deeper in our Sunday School Classes after the morning service. May God richly bless you!
In this sermon, Pastor Nick discusses the Sabbath, presenting it as a divine gift from God intended for rest and rejuvenation. Highlighting scripture from Isaiah 58, Pastor Nick underscores the importance of observing the Sabbath to cultivate a deeper relationship with God, promoting faith over frantic attempts to control one’s productivity. This sermon takes the congregation on a historical journey, referencing the Israelites' liberation from slavery and their subsequent hardships in the wilderness. He illustrates that God’s instruction regarding the Sabbath was a command that offered rest and assurance of provision. Instead of viewing a day of rest as a burden, Nick encourages believers to embrace it as a time for spiritual replenishment and service to others. He stresses that by refraining from normal activities, even in our fast-paced modern lives, we allow God to work in our lives and provide for us, fostering joy and prosperity in our relationship with Him. Ultimately, this sermon calls for a reevaluation of how we utilize our time, urging the congregation to rest and care for those in need, thus honoring the purpose of the Sabbath.

Pastor shares personal anecdotes to illustrate how societal pressures lead to overwork, often ignoring the restorative purpose of Sabbath rest. He highlights the biblical principles surrounding the Sabbath, underscoring that it was created for human benefit, not as an obligation, urging listeners to reclaim this essential rhythm of life.
In the final week of the series on basic Christianity, Pastor focuses on the teachings of Jesus as presented in Matthew 5:43-48, specifically during the sermon on the mount. Here, Jesus challenges the common understanding of loving one's neighbor while hating one's enemy by calling his followers to love their enemies and pray for those who persecute them. Pastor emphasizes that living as part of God’s kingdom requires looking beyond worldly definitions of love and enmity, particularly in a society riddled with divisions and hatreds. He highlights that loving one’s enemies serves as a distinguishing mark of those who belong to God.Through vivid examples, Pastor explains the cultural context of Jesus’ time, where tax collectors were seen as traitorous collaborators with the Roman oppressors. He draws parallels between these biblical instances and present-day scenarios where individuals or groups can be perceived as adversaries. By urging his audience to engage with even those who oppose them, Pastor illustrates that this engagement, grounded in prayer and love, is crucial to embodying the identity of a follower of Christ. He concludes by encouraging listeners to strive for this kind of love, comparing it to aiming for perfection—not in flawless execution, but in the intention of living a life reflective of God’s grace and mercy.
Pastor Nick's sermon "Salt n Light" explores the biblical concept of Christians being salt and light in the world, drawing from Jesus' teachings in the Sermon on the Mount. By emphasizing the importance of living according to Jesus' ways and standing out from the world, believers are encouraged to be distinctive and impactful. Through the metaphor of salt and light, Pastor Nick highlights the roles of Christians in enhancing goodness, reflecting God's character, and being a beacon of hope. The sermon concludes with a powerful reminder for believers to shine brightly as they live out their faith and positively influence the world with God's love and grace.
We opened our Bible Study with a study on the Cultural Context of Hebrews, moving then into a verse by verse study.
In his sermon "Foundations Matter" from the series "Basic Christianity", Pastor Nick delves into Jesus' teachings from the Sermon on the Mount. Focusing on the metaphor of the narrow gate from Matthew 7:13-14, Nick underlines the critical nature of building our lives on a solid, spiritual foundation and not succumbing to the allure of the wide path that inevitably leads to destruction. He depicts Jesus' vision for Christians' way of life as laid out in His sermon, particularly the narrow gate as a representation of the challenging and less opted for path that opens into life.Nick uses the example of a concealed gate in a forest trail to further illustrate the idea of the narrow gate. He stresses that the easy, popular, and more frequented wide path does not equate to purpose and fulfillment in life. Throughout his sermon, he enlightens the audience on Satan's deceitful tactics to draw them away from the narrow gate - tactics including the undermining of God’s necessity in our life, tearing down familial bonds, dulling spiritual alertness, and enticing with earthly pleasures.Nick bravely points out past mistakes of the church, such as the undue celebrity status accorded to pastors, favoring entertainment over true discipleship, and marginalizing certain social groups. He fervently implores the church to acknowledge these errors, striving instead to anchor its foundation in Jesus' teachings. He ends on a hopeful note, reassuring his audience of Jesus' victory over the world, urging them to construct their lives on the solid foundation of Christ’s doctrines. Nick emphasizes that despite the unpopularity and difficulty of the narrow path, it is the only road leading to genuine life and fulfillment. This summary offers a robust outline of Nick’s sermon and can serve as a tool for generating post-sermon discussions and social media content.
In the sermon titled "The Final Rung...Or is it?" from the series "Beatitudes-The Blessing Ladder," Pastor Nick delves into exploring the concept of the kingdom of heaven. He illustrates that though the kingdom is said to be manifesting here on earth, it may not be evident to all. Nick uses the analogy of people's different ways of consuming news to underline the importance of the right mindset when approaching the kingdom of heaven. Encouraging listeners to shed their prior assumptions and convictions, he advocates examining the scriptures from a fresh viewpoint.Nick suggests viewing the Beatitudes in the context of a ladder, each rung offering a pathway for worshipers to visualize and experience God's kingdom. Each Beatitude, he explicates, carries its unique import. He highlights the significance of being poor in spirit, mourning, displaying meekness, craving righteousness, extending mercy, fostering a pure heart, and being a peacemaker. Nick emphasizes that embodying these virtues might provoke persecution, yet believers are advised to stay grounded in their faith.Nick recalls the early disciples who endured persecution owing to their unwavering faith. Urging the present-day audience to live a life of devotion that emulates Christ to others, he mentions that it is praiseworthy if they face mockery for their faith. He refers to instances from the Book of Acts where Christians underwent ridicule, imprisonment, and persecution for upholding their faith. Nick acknowledges the altered landscape of religious persecution in today's society, however remarks that believers may confront insult and shaming for adhering to a righteous life.Concluding, Pastor Nick consoles the believers that a holy life may draw persecution but also acts as an encouragement for them to stay staunch in these beliefs. Using the examples of biblical figures who bore persecution, Nick underscores fixing one's gaze on Jesus. He affirms that believers should treasure insult and persecution for their faith as blessings, keeping in mind their reward that is secured in heaven.

Pastor Rob's sermon, "Self Preservation," delves deep into the subject of self-preservation and how it might negatively affect our bond with God. Rob illustrates this through his experiences at Loving Hands Ministry, stressing the vital role of mentors in his spiritual journey. Through his interpretation of the Bible's Matthew 12, Rob stresses that Sabbath was meant to be a day of rest and holiness rather than a checklist of rules, a perspective that is supported by Jesus's account of David and Abiathar. Pointing out David's volatility during his self-preservation period, Pastor Rob implores his audience to scrutinize their personal alignments closely. Self-preservation, he cautions, often leads us into relationships and alliances God did not intend for us, and these can bear significant costs. Rob also underlines the ripple effect of self-preservation - how it leads to the demise of the priesthood and puts future generations in challenging situations. Further into the sermon, Rob explores how God has always come to our rescue, using the prophet Jeremiah's story to illustrate God's capacity to correct our chaos. Despite our misguided self-preservation attempts, Rob emphasizes that divine plans always find a way forward. The sermon insists that we must closely evaluate our relationships and alliances, ensuring they align with God's plans to achieve spiritual growth. In conclusion, Pastor Rob's sermon challenges the concept of self-preservation, highlighting its potential to hinder our relationship with God. Rob uses David and Abiathar's story to underline the pitfalls of self-preservation and the necessity of aligning with God's intentions. The sermon serves as a wake-up call, urging us to scrutinize our relationships, alliances, and, most crucially, to put God first in all our endeavors.

The sermon uses Jesus' words to Peter in the New Testament, suggesting he should forgive individuals who wrong him not just seven times, but seventy-seven, emphasizing that forgiveness isn't purely about reconciliation with others but about receiving God's forgiveness too.Pastor Nick further illustrates the theme of forgiveness by referencing the Old Testament's story of Lamech, who pursued revenge following injury, in contrast to Jesus' teachings on forgiveness. The sermon's central message is that forgiveness is not merely an act of kindness, but vital for healing and reconciliation. After spending quite some time with Jesus, he had now ascended. From his place in Heaven, seated at the Father's right hand, he would make a request--one that the Father was eager to give!
Jesus would ask the Father to send the Holy Spirit to empower the believers for life and ministry. In the meantime, however, they waited. Somewhere in those 10 days of waiting, Peter stood up with a Bible lesson and something that looks a lot like gambling...
In the First Chapter of Acts, we have a brief account of the last days and moments Jesus spent on this earth. Before the very eyes of the Apostles, Jesus ascended into Heaven. He gave them instructions: WAIT. Then, once you're given the gift of the Holy Spirit, GO!
There are 4 important reasons for the Ascension. Listen in and hear why!
The disciples of Jesus had to wait 50 days after his death and 10 days after his ascension before the promised Holy Spirit arrived.
50 days isn't too long...10 days sure isn't much...but when you are awaiting the BIGGEST thing you'll ever witness, even one day feels like a lot! So, what do we do while we wait for God to fulfill his promises?
In other words, how well do we wait?
Let's open up John 21 and Acts 1 to see how some of the Apostles waited and what happened when Jesus showed up.
Jesus gave his disciples the Holy Spirit and then said that they could forgive and retain sins against people. WHAT???!!! THAT isn't our job, is it?
So, join in and listen while we do the work of interpreting this passage and find out what God would have us to do with it.
In this episode, Pastor Nick went a bit off-script...but if you know how he preaches, sometimes those are the best! Check out Part A here and stay tuned next week for the conclusion. You WON'T want to miss it!
Jesus had some very stern words for people who harmed the least of these among us. He was concerned for children and wanted to protect them. God loves our kids more than we ever could.

Jesus returns as King of Heaven’s kingdom on Earth. And he has a message to be shared. But the people he chooses to share it aren’t always the ones we would assume.
Moses had told of the day when God would bring another prophet to lead Israel. But when Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey and not a warhorse, he failed to meet up to the expectations of the people.
Moses said God would raise up prophets from Israel. He reminded them that they had been scared to have God too close so he said he would speak through prophets.
But he knew the temptation to look into the future through dark arts and fortune tellers was going to be there. So he promised that he would speak through prophets and eventually through his own Son, living as one of us.
After all the ups and downs, Israel was overthrown and carried into exile by Assyria.
Now, the kingdom of Judah was all that was left. King Hezekiah brought some reforms, but those quickly fell away. What’s worse is that the Book of the Law—their Bible—was lost!
Hezekiah’s great-grandson Josiah became king at 8 years old. 16 years later he saw the futility in all the idol worship and he went on a reformer’s rampage and cleansed the land of all idols and other evils and then they celebrated the Passover for the first time in forever.
Plus, we had The Krispy Rooster outside with amazing food! So that’s a win!
We missed a week of recording when we had a guest preacher. (Solomon built a temple and invited God to dwell in it.) Ultimately, God chose for his Son to dwell among us as for a while. Now, rather than a temple built with human hands, the Holy Spirit dwells in our midst.
This week, we are looking at what happened when Solomon turned away from God and how it affected the kingdom when his son Rehoboam became king.
In Psalm 3, we see a very sad story where David and his family and officials had to make a tactical decision to flee the royal city because his very own son was committing treason.
However, this had been directly because of David's own sins in the past which had caught up to him. How did he react and where do we see ourselves in this story?
David was on the run from Saul. While he was out, he had a group of men with him. They ran a sort of protection racket to protect the local sheep ranchers. One in particular was a wicked-hearted man named Nabal. When David's men were insulted by Nabal, David was ready to slay every male in his household. The attack was only stopped by the quick and decisive actions of Nabal's wife, Abigail.
After Saul rejected God and found himself rejected as king, God sent Samuel the prophet to anoint a man after his own heart; Samuel went to the house of Jesse and found a couple great looking specimens. But they weren't the ones God had chosen. Instead, He had picked the young boy David who was out with the sheep. God looks at our hearts...
We continue the series called "Building the Kingdom". This week we see how the people of God had rejected him, but now the Chosen King (Saul) had rejected God. In turn, God rejects Saul as King and selects another...
We continue the series called "Building the Kingdom" where we look each week at the Israelite Kingdom as it unfolds and progresses. We see a picture of what the earthly kingdom was like and where the leaders may have gone right or wrong. Ultimately, we will see each week that where we get it wrong, Jesus got it right! He is building a Heavenly kingdom that stretches to this earth. His kingdom is eternal!

In his letter to the Philippians, the Apostle Paul wrote from a Roman jail cell. Among the many bits of wisdom he imparted, one thing he said was that he had he was forgetting the things in his past and looking forward to the things God had for him in the future through Jesus Christ. What do YOU have that you wish were erased from your past?
Jesus had all kinds of reasons to say "That's good enough"...But he didn't. He knew why he had come and he was determined to live out that purpose. His life on earth was destined to end up on the cross, and to be placed in a tomb. But he wasn't destined to stay there. Raised up on the third day and later ascended into Heaven, he will one day return.

What is Apologetics and why does it matter? At the first section of his trial, Jesus was placed before the Sanhedrin and asked a question that has been asked multiple times: "Jesus, who are you really? Are you REALLY the Son of God?"
Apologetics seeks to investigate and defend the faith of the Bible. The Sanhedrin asked the question to which many people want a clear answer. Did Jesus clearly answer this question? Listen and find out.
After the Passover Supper, but before his trial, Jesus went out to an olive orchard and spent time in prayer nearby an olive press.
As the weight and cares of the world pressed him, his sweat ran out like drops of blood.
How do you respond when pressed?

Jesus told some rapid-fire parables and furthered the message of the cursed fig tree: He expected to see fruit from Jerusalem and it’s leaders but couldn’t find any.
They had rejected John’s preaching and baptism, and they were actively rejecting Jesus. Now, their time is up.
