I switched up how I title the episodes, and learned a lot about what it means to be an entrepreneur as I talked to Matt. This week we talked about the issues he and his business partner Sarah faced while opening one of the best restaurants in Fort Worth, Hotbox Biscuit Club. If you happen to find yourself in Fort Worth do yourself a favor and get a meal.

P.S. I spoke about the chicken so much in this episode it was comical, but when something is that good you gotta let people know!

I don't know where to start, I have had a complicated history with church and in the past few years I have had the opportunity to start attending Trademark Church in Fort Worth, TX and to become friends with the pastor Landon Pickering. He has truly added value to my life and helped bring the joy back into my life. And considering the whole idea behind this podcast is to learn from people who are doing the things that make them happy, this was the perfect conversation to have. Thank you Landon for talking to me and I hope everyone listens and enjoys this conversation as much as I did.

Vice President of Development & Engagement at One Safe Place in Fort Worth, Texas joined me for an interview on this episode. Felipe is someone that I am honestly inspired by, because when we met he worked as a telephone technician at AT&T and has become a force to be reckoned with in his community. Whether it be through his engagement with the Stonewall Democrats, his local union, or local politics. This interview was a lot of fun, we had some issues with  the audio, but if you can bear with us it is definitely worth a listen.

2020 was a mess. If 2020 was a person, it would be Gary Busey on a cocaine binge. If 2020 was a song it would be a chopped and screwed remix of The Fox. If 2020 was a drink it would be every drink in a coca cola remix machine mixed with rubbing alcohol and Monteczuma brand Tequila. I hope 2020 does not rest in peace, I hope it burns in Hades, I hope it is tortured in the pits of Tartarus, I hope it gets trapped in a room with the Ark of the Covenant from Indiana Jones and is forced to watch all the spirits come out and melts. That was a run on sentence. If 2020 was a sentence, it would probably be that sentence.

Enough about 2020, 2021 is here and it's goin to be better right? Surely it'll be better there is no doubt about it. Although 2021 will be a much better year it, sure as hell, bust through your living room wall like a rabid Kool-Aid Man and, yelled "Oh Yeaaaaah!!" and proceeded to stomp his corona sullied feet on your couch like Rick James. 2021 came in swinging: Cecily Tyson passed away, Dustin Diamond passed away, Rush Limbaugh (not a fan, but the rule of three). There was a riot on the Capital of the United States. Just this week there was a snow storm... IN TEXAS!

Let me calm down. We made it through the snow. This post was supposed to be positive, so let me end on a very positive note. 2020 taught me that everybody is "essential." I have decided that 2021 the year I change my life. I have decided to put all my energy into the pursuit of my dreams. This year I am going to set goals that seem almost outlandish, and I am going to achieve them. I can, I will, and I must. Shout out Eric Thomas. I gotta wrap this up, so to do that I will leave you with this: Let 2021 be the best year of your life. Control what you can control, and let the go by the wayside.
