Chris & Donna round up the OGs of the NC fight community to talk about the history of combat sports in our area. You'll hear "old war stories" from the ones who started it all with some sage advice & a whole lot of laughs.
Chris is outnumbered by northerners in this episode and it shows. The Carolina Fight Corner crew sits down with Billy Dowey and Ted Leiner from the Royce Gracie Jiu Jitsu Academy of Raleigh.
In our first episode with actual guests, we talk with Scott Francis and Robbie Adams. Between the two of them, they have enough experience competing and coaching in martial arts for two lifetimes. They've trained with and fought against world champions, coached world-class athletes, and have more stories about their experiences than we can fit into one podcast episode. (This probably won't be the last time we talk with them on this podcast.) Please excuse the sub par audio and Donna’s scratchy voice (she lost it the day before. And there was much rejoicing, haha). We are improving and perfecting as we learn.
Welcome to our podcast. It doesn't matter how you got here, we're just glad you're here! Before we get down to business interviewing as many OGs in our NC combat sports community as we can, we wanted you to learn a bit about who we are and how this podcast came to be. If you think there's someone we just have to interview, send us an email or hit us up on the socials: carolinafightcorner@gmail.com and @carolinafightcorner on Instagram and Facebook.
