When it comes to features in 2022, there have been a lot of great verses and hooks. There are so many in fact that I thought I would break down my top three so far this year. Before I get into that. However, there are three honorable mentions that deserve some recognition. Those being J. Cole on be a song London santa on Kendrick, Lamar's father time and ASAP Rocky on Swedish house mafia song Frankenstein. Now let's move into the top three coming in at number three. I have J. Cole on betting the butcher's track, johnny peas, caddy. Jacob has always been a top tier feature artist and to be honest, I can't remember the last time he's missed as a feature. Cole delivers a powerful verse filled with riveting lyricism and wordplay capturing the listener as he always does. Holding the number two spot on my list is J. I. D. On Mike dimes home remix. Anytime J I. D. Starts his verse with a subtle look, you know, he's about to drop one of the best verses of the year. His clever bars mixed with as many changes in cadence and flow, create an unforgettable verse. While J. D. Was very close to holding the number one spot on this list. I couldn't help but give the crown to someone I haven't heard of before this song released and that is taylor page on Kendrick Lamar's we cried together throughout this track. It is very clear that Taylor is an actress while she doesn't have a verse or a hook, Taylor turn a Kendrick song into one of the most beautiful pieces of art I have heard in a long time. Taylor's raw emotion flow and changes in tone are incredible and irreplaceable. That's my list. Thanks for listening.

What's up guys? I recently just asked my twitter followers with the greatest concert they've ever been to was and this past weekend I went to premium very sound 2022 in Barcelona Spain and I saw three acts that are definitely the top three on my list. I've seen Drake, I've seen me goes, I've seen Saba Cimino, J I D J. Cole. But the three acts I saw this weekend, we're Gorillas, Beach House and Tyler, the creator, which is the second time I've seen him this year, And all three of them are on the top three concerts I've been to and it was the greatest night of music in my life. So first off I went to Gorillas, they played a bunch of their classics, there was well over 50,000 people in attendance and they played like feel good, inc Rhinestone, they had a bunch of different features um come out, one of them being most def for sweepstakes, which is a song I wasn't a huge fan of, but when I saw it live, it was probably one of the best songs I saw that night. Then I went to go see beach house and I was there for only about 30 minutes because I had to get to Tyler on the other end of the festival and they play like myth space song 10 out of 10 set. Either way, the vibes were immaculate and then I saw Tyler for the second time this year and he absolutely killed it, people. Same same crowd for gorillas because it's at the same stage, but new magic wand went absolutely crazy. He opened with Corso, great way to open it. Everyone was going crazy. And then come on, let's go with Niego. It was a song I wasn't a huge fan of, but seeing it live was unreal. Yeah.

what's up guys? Just landing in Barcelona. I've had a lot of time to listen to music while I've been traveling throughout europe, and I just wanted to give you guys some of the songs in my rotation. Uh and this is according to Spot of stats, definitely a great app. If you don't want to check it out, it's kind of like last FM. But in my opinion, I like the interface better. Anyways, Let's get into it. one per artist. So, coming in at the top of the list, I've got right out by schoolboy Q and vince staples. The production is some of the best production I've ever heard in hip hop, in my opinion, I love this beat so much, and vince staples absolutely kills this feature. I love that song. Then I've got uh You and I t. Y by Queen Latifah, a classic classic song. It came up with my shuffle, I kind of forgot about it, haven't heard it in a while, came up with my shuffle and I've just been revisiting it a lot the last week. Her flow throughout the song is just legendary. Great song. Then I've got a six hour, I think that's how you pronounce it by baldi James off his new album, Killing Nothing with real bad Man. Just a simple acoustic beat and baldies flow, especially on the second verse is really addicting, in my opinion. And then the last two, since I'm running out of time, actually, three, we've got downstate by Westside, Gunn Hold that Heat by Southside Future and Travis scott, very underrated song that came out this year and lastly one of my favorite songs to drop recently, Father Time Best song on Kendrick's new album, Great Track.

What's up, y'all? So I just recently asked my Twitter followers what they think of posthumous albums, and I just wanted to give my thoughts on it. So, as we all know, most posthumous albums are pretty poor in quality. There isn't really much structure to the album as album should be, for example, faith by pop Smoke Skins by X, um, Fighting Demons by Juice. I just feel like those are compilations of a bunch of unreleased songs that the label and the team of the artist just threw together just to give the fans what they want. And in some cases, that's okay. However, I feel like out of respect for the artist, projects shouldn't be released unless they are completely finished by the artist and at least all the way up until the mixing and mastering stage, because that can really be done without the artist. You just need an expert to do that. But I think out of respect for the artist posthumous album should not be released unless the project was already finished before they sadly passed away. Because if that isn't the case, for example, like another one, legends never die. I know a lot of people like that project, but in my opinion juice, juice, world fans, this one more music, and that's okay. But I think, um, and a lot of the in lot of cases, uh, teams of these artists are just trying to grab month, like they just want money because they know they have a lot of fans and they can do it. But let me know what you guys think. I know. It is a really kind of mixed subject, uh, and yeah.

What's up guys? I'm in Dublin Ireland right now and I have been for the last few days and I've just got to say this Killing Nothing album by baldi James has been on repeat only album in my rotation right now, there's a little bit of Mr morale and the Big Steppers, but this baldi James album is incredible. Um Mr Morale in the big steppers as well as this album are kind of tied right now for my album of the year, for 2022. Um but I'm just gonna go ahead and say that I think brody James is one of the most underappreciated guys in rap right now and like He's put out eight projects, 8, no other rappers doing that in the last two years, eight projects. And to me this may be his best album since Manger on McNichols and that came out in 2020 or the price of tea in China, whichever you think is better. But it was it's great. Listen all the way through, I love the production, Real bad man, Absolutely killed this, but my top three tracks are gonna be game time, 190 bands and probably six. Our open door, All four of those are phenomenal. But yeah, if you guys haven't heard it yet, definitely check it out. It's been, it's been such a vibe baldy did it again and he may even drop another project with the Alchemist at the end of the year, so I really hope he comes through with that. But yeah, definitely go check it out if you haven't heard it yet

So it just came out that Kendrick, Lamar cell 286,000 copies of his album. Mr Morale and the big steppers. And a lot of people over on Twitter obviously are going to be saying massive L because the predict the projections were 400,000 plus, some people were even reaching a million such as DD. Um But this is a massive w this is huge And for Kendrick to make an album that is as personal and ambitious production wise and lyrically as Mr Morale and the big steppers and sell those kind of numbers which 95% of rappers right now aren't even going to reach in their whole career is a massive w and he should be proud of himself. And the biggest reason that everyone seems to be forgetting on twitter right now when talking about oh he didn't reach these projections. Oh it should have been way more. These are all before the album even came out mostly. But you guys got to realize that it's there's no commercial hit on this album. Damn. Had humble and D. N. A. To help boost his numbers. Good Kid, Mad City had swimming pools. Just don't kill my vibe. Mad City. Nearly every track on the album to help boost his numbers to pimp a Butterfly had alright. And other songs like that and that obviously is his most, in my opinion, best album. So of course it's gonna do well and I completely understand why Kendrick didn't sell as much as everyone thought he would on this project. But to be able to outsell 95% of the rap game right now, with an album as personal as that is a huge accomplishment.

So I recently just asked my Twitter followers what their most anticipated projects for the rest of 2022 r. And I just wanted to go to my list real quick. Um So excluding frank Ocean because we don't even know if he's ever dropping an album again, especially this year. Um So I've got a top three and here it is. So coming in at number three I've got a tie between Travis scott, Utopia and Freddie Gibbs next project. Now both guys kind of went through something recently and for Freddy that was the Benny the butcher incident. And then Travis had the Astral tragedy. I really just want to hear their thoughts on both of these and I'm really curious to see what they do. They both have been on fire with their new singles, escape plan mafia. And then Freddie has ice cream so I'm really excited to see what they have to say. Coming in at number two, we've got Joey badass with his album coming up in june title 2000 and not much else to say here. It's a sequel to 1999 1 of the best mix tapes of all time. So I'm really excited to see what he's gonna do with this project. And then coming in at number one. I have J. I. D. Now the reason I have J. D. Is he has proven himself time and time again that he is one of the best rappers out right now. His flows are insane. His lyrics are insane. His feature runs since 2018. Has been insane like on revenge of the Dreamers III, and his new single surround sound was spectacular. So if they all pull through, 2022 will go down as one of the best years in hip hop. And I'm really excited to hear what all these artists do.

Kendrick. Lamar's Mr morale and the Big Steppers is the best project that has been released so far this year, and this is not an official review. Just my first impressions on the album, Kendrick Lamar notes on the album's opening track, United in Grief. It's been over 1800 days since he last released an album by his own account. The intervening five years have been somewhat of a roller coaster ride. I mean, let's see, like Kendrick, he performed at the first ever hip hop Super Bowl halftime show. He made it and claimed acting debut, received his Pulitzer prize for Dam and most importantly, started a family with his wife. But that's not all that Kendrick went through during these five years. As we can see on this album, he also struggled with his mental health, received therapy and endured a two year stretch of writer's block mr morale and the Big Steppers is crammed with plenty of lyrical and musical ideas, making it Kendrick's most ambitious project. Yet, in my opinion, the album breaks down many barriers for mainstream hip hop as well on tracks like we cry together in anti diaries, allowing us to take a glance at Kendricks mental state. After many listens it is clear that this is one of the most defining characteristics on the project, like many Kendricks projects and that is the many changes in sound and tone from the frantic jazzy loops to staccato, piano chords and powerful sense. Overall, this project felt surreal to me and I'm really glad that contracted has given us more insight into his personal life and thoughts

Freddie Gibbs is a top 15 rapper of all time. While this is one of my hotter takes over on twitter, I truly stand by what I say while Freddie started off slow when he began releasing albums back in 2009, his first few projects aren't that great. However, once he links up with Mad lib on his magnum opus, pinata, Freddie really begins to show us what he can truly do um with his wordplay, his lyricism on top of great production and that is what Freddy has been receiving with the Alchemist and Mad lib in many other notable producers uh in recent years, albums like he only lived twice and his self titled album are great and not really talked about as much and one album that I think is one of the most underrated collab projects of all time is Fetty, where Freddie collapsed with currency tracks like saturday night Special, Willie Lloyd to Paseo are all top 25 Freddie songs and just the production, his flows, his wordplay are so addicting and he continues on with that on Bandana and Bandana in my opinion, may have better production than pinata, especially on songs like crime pays fake names, half man, half cocaine with that beats, which it is insanely fire and then Alfredo and I'm really excited to see what Freddy does with his next project, hopefully coming out this year and he can truly cement himself as one of the greatest ever
