Vive la différence

Laurent Dubreuil

8 Episodes

Vive la différence is a Podcast series on controversial issues affecting contemporary French society, seen through a trans-Atlantic prism. From race to gender, from Antisemitism to the aftermath of colonialism, this podcast series does not shy away from complicated, and hotly debated, topics. Vive la différence because this Podcast is about differences between France and the US. Vive la différence because French society today is multiple and differential. Vive la différencebecause differences of opinion are key to democratic life. Vive la différence because this Podcast will not tell you what to think but invite you to agree to disagree.

This series is created by the French Studies Program at Cornell, thanks to a special grant awarded by the French Embassy to the United States of America. The host is Laurent Dubreuil, a Professor and the Director of French studies at Cornell University. His guests are scholars in French or Francophone studies. Jacob Matthews, a doctoral student in French at Cornell, is the Producer. The views represented by the guests and the host in this show do not necessarily reflect those of the French Embassy to the USA, Cornell University, its College of Arts and Sciences or its French Studies Program.
