Welcome to our corner of the world, where the conversation flows freely and the door is always open to dive into the layers of life. Here, in our Season 4 gatherings, it's not about having all the answers but exploring the questions together. I'm not here to be the sage on the stage; rather, let's be fellow travelers, celebrating our victories, unpacking our struggles, and leaning into the full spectrum of our human experience. It's about confronting the real, raw, and sometimes messy facets of our daily lives head-on.
"Is That SOO?" carries a dual beat—echoing both the pulse of the School of Outliers and the rhythm of equanimity. It’s our anthem for cultivating inner calm and standing steady amidst life’s swirl.
Our episodes are invitations—to thinkers, dreamers, and doers who've danced with their shadows, those hidden corners of our existence that once caged us in doubt but now spotlight our most genuine selves. If your heart beats for love and your spirit thrives on authenticity, our table has a place for you. Here, we’re all about Living In Truth, or embracing the L.I.T. lifestyle, with every fiber of our being.
So, if you’re ready to celebrate the essence of being unapologetically you, to share, to listen, and to grow, welcome to Season 4 of "Is That SOO?" Let’s light up the path together.
Welcome to another off-season Bonus. I'm elated to have on the show once again, Jeff "The Real" McKoy. This is Part I of a five-part series that was created after an unplanned dialogue with my friend Jeff McKoy. The conversation was so rich in jewels I couldn't keep it to myself. I don't believe it was designed to be kept with us. Spiritual steaks being served from beginning to end. Get ready to be fed.

Anybody who didn't vote, he will give that buy them their drinks for the night. If they go vote for him. He won the election because of this. And his first act was to abolish the fact that you're not allowed to give you're not allowed to bribe your voters. So what I'm saying is, the facts that are there sometimes get covered up and when the truth comes out.
6:08 - Do not steal do not steal from you understand this, a person can take was not this into the possession of something that's yours, then that means that you gave it over, a person can't push your buttons unless you give them the control of first.

15:47 - And the reason why my mission is to assist others in developing the audacity to live unapologetically authentic is because that is the practice of happiness. Because happiness is not a destination to be reached, but the way we travel.

Here's PART II of Sunday Sermons for our series: "Mental Health and the 10 Commandments" with my friends, Brandon Croucher and Jeff "The Real" McKoy. On this one, we begin with the 5th Commandment, which some refer to as the 1st Promise Commandment, “Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.”
"Small minds discuss people. Average minds discuss events. And great minds discuss people." Make no mistake, this is NOT your Sunday church service. This is a dialogue with expanded minds about an expanded awareness of practical mental wellness tips and spiritual principles that can be found in all spaces, at all times. I've invited two great minds to provide some #innerstanding.

Episode Highlights: 04:15 - What does a "fresh start" actually mean?
"I don't believe in fresh starts because every moment is fresh, I believe in fresh choices."
"If we're gonna make new choices, a fresh start, and you're trying to create a new pathway, then that you got to do something different than what you did before, which requires you to go into the unknown or the uncertain."
08:30 - How can someone make a fresh start when it comes to relationships?
"When we accept where we are currently, then we understand that those choices that we made in the past, they've had expiration dates... And we haven't updated the software of our system, being our mind, to understand where we are at this present time."
12:15 - Why making new choices feels so hard
"We've created rules around how to behave that keep us locked in a certain pattern."
13:13 - Saying goodbye to our old stories
"When you're talking about how to say goodbye, what you're referring to is attachment... It is the nature of the mind to attach itself to things if we stare at it long enough."
16:52 - Fresh starts can arise from unexpected opportunities
"I know that when a crisis happens, the symbolic representation of a crisis is a combination of the words: danger, and opportunity. So even though I was afraid... I lean into that discomfort and decided to do what I could do."
"That's sometimes how people get to a fresh start, is something happens in their life, that exposes them to something different."
20:45 - What keeps us stuck
"When you look at mental health, you can see mental rigidity across the board and all mental health disorders."
23:11- Why we're afraid to take risks and do things differently
"The thing about imposter syndrome is, underneath all of that is that most people experience imposter syndrome are really successful. They just deny this success. They don't own it. They disregard it."
"I know you want to protect me and have the reservation so I can be safe. But I am going forth into this next expansion of what I need to go into."
28:24 - Harry breaks down 'intentionality reflects relationship'
"Everything is energy. And wherever you pour your awareness, your energy, wherever attention goes, energy flows."
"We are always in the process of creating and even indecision is a decision within itself, because when we are indecisive, we choose to remain in the familiar past."
30:25 - How to go after your dream, regardless of what it is
"All I need to do is let life know I'm gonna continue to respond to this. And I will not stop responding to that, until I experience what it is that I chose and life will honor that."

Episode Highlights 2:02 - About the crystal that inspired this week's theme, Green Aventurine
"Simply by changing your energy, you have the power to shape your own fate. The first step is to align your thoughts, beliefs, in energy with that of what you want."
3:31 - Harry's thoughts on luck
"I'm not lucky, any successes people see in me is because I've been unreasonable. I have not settled for what other people say is reasonable for me, because that's what we deem to be reasonable in the first place."
5:59 - What does "luck" actually mean?
"When we don't understand that thing, we chalk it up to superstition. And no matter how brilliant the human mind is, we can't contemplate the way that life moves. I mean, it moves in mysterious ways."
8:13 - Creating our own luck when it comes to job interviews
"Ask those powerful questions, so you don't feel as though that you just got lucky in a position."
11:47 - Abundance, universal laws and showing up
"A life of authenticity is the life of skillfully practicing living through your values. It's skill building, it's practicing, it's choosing every single moment, and every single day."
16:22 - Staying open to opportunity
"Know that that experience, the thrill, the excitement, the life that you want to experience, that you can experience that in different ways doesn't have to look the way that you expected it to look or the way that you want it to look. But you have to be open."
19:31 - Using green aventurine to invite luck into our lives and connect with what we really want.
"That's really the luck that it's talking about, which, for me, is life conspired in your favor. You move intentionally,"
23:01 - Life conspires in our favor when we align with our truth
"We wouldn't be as intentional as we are, if we didn't have faith in ourselves that we could experience exactly what it is that we chose to experience for ourselves. Life loves that."
26:10 - Felicia closes with practice for manifestation
"There's a power in the magic to when you take what it is that you want. And then you write that down. And then you think about that."

In this mini-series, we talk about living authentically and discuss what causes us to feel attached to an outcome. Highlights 01:22 - What does it mean to go with the flow?
"We want perfection, but then we have to let go of that illusion of perfection, because our perfectionism is no more than this illusion that we have to change something about ourselves in order to belong."
03:55 - How mental rigidity prevents us from adapting
"As Einstein said tomorrow's problems can't be solved with today's thinking, how are we evolving? What are we doing to be intentionally purposeful about evolving and growing with this new present moment and its demands?"
05:11 - What causes someone to feel attached to an outcome?
"Wherever attention goes, energy flows wherever you place your awareness that that's where you are."
08:37 - What does it mean to transmute, transform and transcend?
"In that moment where you choose to lean into your discomfort, and you choose to go through it, that's you beginning that process of that coal becoming a diamond."
11:35 - What becomes possible when we are more flexible?
"Too many of us are still holding on to the old 'I ams' and won't let it go because we're too rigid. So cognitive flexibility, from a scientific standpoint, it allows you to adapt to change, it makes you the fittest."
15:26 - How can we show up to meet unexpected changes?
"All that, maybe is to be able to free up space and capacity for you to be allowing that individual to go and explore, and come up and let new people come into their life versus you leaving somebody behind."
21:33 - Using Aquamarine for healing, meditation, and opening the throat chakra
"The throat chakra has much to do with our true authentic voice where faith and understanding combine... when the throat chakra is in harmony, we speak our truth where we say what we mean and mean what we say. We express ourselves easily, creatively and authentically."
25:03 - Why speaking our truth is not always easy
"The task of being authentic, it's not about doing it easy... It's about doing it anyway."
27:21 - Harry closes off with a "54321" Meditation
"Oftentimes, I say you must experience the experience in order to experience it. You don't have to physically move anywhere."

Are you putting out the right energy to attract the love you deserve? We've got a very special guest, Nicole Sublette, returning to the show to discuss the energetics of love, and how you can attract your soulmate into your life in this 3-part series.
Nicole is a licensed clinical counsellor, certified hypnotherapist, reiki master, integrative medicine provider, and a doctoral candidate in bioenergetic medicine. She is also an empowerment coach who supports women with being their best versions of themselves, specifically, healing from toxic relationships.
In Part 3, we discuss...
00:25 - Being deserving of love
"When we go through situations, especially challenging ones, we tend to judge ourselves based off of these situations, which is not the act of love at all."
01:45 - The energy of love
"So to attract love in your life, it's important that you look at your energetic alignment, and you look at your aura in your ask yourself, Am I embodying that energy of love?"
03:10 - Fear, expectations and recognizing our own needs
"We often tend to place a series of expectations... outcomes and desires as to what we want, how we want the other person to be, how we want the other person to show up. And then when that doesn't work out, that way, we then name it as unloving."
05:32 - Getting in tune with the vibration of love
"Love places no conditions on us, we don't have to be a certain kind of way, you know, to to be deserving of love... love is and it accepts us as is."
09:05 - Raising your frequency to become magnetic
"The longer that you stare into that space, the longer that you stand in that room of higher vibrations, the more that you are refueling in energetically aligning your energetic field your aura to that vibration of love. Because whatever we stare at becomes a reality because perception is reality."
11:44 - Cognitive flexibility
"When you begin to identify these mechanisms that the inner critic use to keep us safe... we begin to understand that that awareness is key - key to being liberated from our own biological built in defense mechanism of deception."
13:59 - Healing ourselves so we can show up fully for others
"It's hard to show up for someone else, when you don't know how to show up for yourself. And then we can ask ourselves, How can we give of ourselves when we don't think that we're anything worth giving?"
20:45 - Radical acceptance
"So if we're practicing those resonant states of love, peace, joy and gratitude, we can really move through any space, any relationship. It doesn't mean that it's going to always be easy, it doesn't mean that we're not going to face difficulties. But what it does mean is that we can move through these spaces with increased resiliency, increased openness and increased compassion. And that ultimately, what we find is that all that we desire to experience is that we can truly align with that within ourselves."

Are you putting out the right energy to attract the love you deserve? Last week we dove deep into the importance of self-love and doing the inner work. We're joined again by Nicole Sublette, a licensed clinical counsellor, certified hypnotherapist, reiki master, integrative medicine provider, and a doctoral candidate in bioenergetic medicine. She is also an empowerment coach who supports women with being their best versions of themselves, specifically, healing from toxic relationships.
In Part 2, we discuss...
04:34 - Understanding internalized oppression
"Understand that when it comes down to being loving towards yourself, and that you have to also love those things that you yourself have deemed as unlovable."
06:26 - The psychology of fear-based thinking
"At the top of that, when the oppressor has done its job is for the person to instantly shame themselves oppress themselves and think that it is a them thing. But it's actually part of the system... a lot of things that we have been conditioned to are not love based, but indeed rather fear based."
09:54 - Recognizing & healing generational patterns
"Part of loving is to one is to identify some of the patterns that we have in our families... or that our caretakers gave to us, and it's looking at those patterns and looking at what patterns are conducive towards our health, and our vibrancy, and what patterns actually take away from us."
12:55 - Why we might feel unlovable
"If you can't accept love from yourself, how can you ever expect to accept love from anybody else? You see, whenever we fall into this pattern of compulsively seeking love from the outside, that is a representation of a lack of love from the inside, but we can't meet our needs from the outside. That is an inner world problem, not an outer world problem."
18:33 - Subconscious conditioning & projecting
"And what we're actually doing is, there is actually an issue within us that we're seeing reflected in another. And that's why it triggers us that's why irritates us. And that's why it upsets us."
21:50 - What to do when you're triggered
"Oftentimes, when we're triggered in a relationship, we're not even actually responding and present moment, oftentimes, we're responding in past moments, we're actually living in the past."
26:40 - How cognitive flexibility can help us develop confidence
"A big part of connection is being emotionally intelligent enough, to be confident enough, to navigate during situations. Confidence is this ability to engage in connection, engage in relationships, knowing that you may stumble along the way but still have the confidence that anything that's damaged can be repaired."
29:04 - Experiencing a state of self-love
"Self love is not necessarily a conscious way of thinking, it is a subconscious way of thinking. And it's also, most importantly, it is a way of feeling, and it is a way of being."
32:04 - How to effectively practice affirmations to manifest love
"The subconscious mind is incredibly powerful, and it will accept pretty much any truth or image that you submit to it without question. But you must act, you must be able to align these vibrations of love and you must affirm your reality of love if you plan on attracting love."
40:30 - Navigating expectations and finding our truth
"Every relationship, every relationship, not just romantic, is an opportunity for learning. It's an opportunity for growth. And it is an opportunity for us to learn about ourselves.
44:14 - The illusion of expectations
"Understand that to expect is to wait or anticipate to wait with anticipation. And if you're waiting for anticipation, for a specific outcome, that no doubt will lead to anxiety, or the bodily experience of fear."

In Part 1, we discuss...
01:38 - What is a soulmate?
"A soulmate is one of those collisions that then serve as a catalyst ultimately for you to transform maybe physically, mentally, as well as spiritually..."
03:44 - The first step of manifesting love
"Because if we just go blindly, and we don't really know what we want, then we're going to attract anything in because the thing is, we're people, and we're magnetic ... we're constantly attracting things, we're attracting in the good, we're attracting the bad, the positive and the negative. So we have to be super conscious about our intentions."
05:08 - It starts with Self
"All of us have to begin with an aura alignment, energetic alignment. What we understand who we are as energetic beings, and then understand what it is that we are attracting based off of who we are."
07:36 - Understanding our addition to safety
"If we don't feel safe in a connection, that may not be because of that connection. It may be because that pain, that discomfort is there to make us aware of something that is unresolved within us, because we could be living in the present but still existing in the past."
08:52 - Healing unresolved trauma
"Step one for us to really attract what we desire, is that we need to match the frequency of what we desire. So we need to match the frequency of love."
10:34 - The loneliness epidemic & vulnerability
"Many of us are experiencing excruciating loneliness; understand that there's a difference between the physical state of being alone and loneliness. Loneliness is an experience and emotional experience, typically, but the alone is a physical state of being and so many of us are experiencing loneliness in spite of be even being in crowds."
14:20 - Our past creates our patterns
"When we have what is called adverse childhood experiences, we can have disrupted attachment. And we can learn false views about ourselves at a very young age."
18:44 - Dealing with repressed emotions
"When we repress it, that energy still continues in motion, but in ways that are unconscious and unseen to us. And this is why many of us or some of us may struggle with with having connections or maintaining connections."
22:47 - Getting into energetic alignment
"When we're working with someone on this level, they can serve as mirrors, and they can help us even identify the blind spots we have, they can help us identify if we're moving into the repeating the same cycles, unknowingly."
27:35 - The process of S.H.I.I.T
"That's just one of the mechanisms that I put together to help people understand that, really, we do have to analyze our thoughts, we have to think about our thoughts. Awareness is key ignorance and freedom can't coexist."
29:02 - Fill your cup first
"When we are like a fire, like a bonfire and we're illuminated, we can actually spread our light to the world when we're feeling diminished and depleted, then we're only offering sparks."
33:27 - Responding from love over fear
"And the moment that you realize that you're attracting takers, know that when you change that behavior I've given them take is gonna leave where they need to leave, they need to leave because they're not aligned with you."
36:47 - The illusion of lack
"We live in an illusion of incompleteness. And so we often seek relationships outside of us to validate ourselves."
39:24 - Intentionality reflects relationship
"First, thought. And then you align words, and then you align deeds, because the deed, which you do, what you are intentional about responding to, reflects your relationship with that thing."

Episode Highlights: 02:54 - "And then our other side of our business, because I'm still very passionate about it, is our micro business and solopreneurs. It's working with coaches and people who are ready to become that authority that influence and showing them how they can get off that cashflow rollercoaster by introducing these things."
04:03 - "Your vibe attracts your tribe... I must say at least 10 times a day. It's kind of like the core that runs through our business... But the two stats that I'm most proud of are between our business and our clients. We did just shy of $10 million worth of additional revenue with $0 in ad spend $10 million worth of additional revenue with $0 in ad spend."
06:11 - "The power of podcasting is not in the audience. That's where everybody thinks it is, but it's not. The power of podcasting is built by having a VIP backstage pass to network with whoever you want to network with within that industry. So if you now start to think of this as a networking tool that you can speak to anybody you want to, you can be mentored for free by anybody that you want to work with."
11:33 - "Time is your most valuable commodity, and you're just gonna give it away. Like you wouldn't spend $50,000 on Facebook ads without a strategy. So why would you start podcasting without a strategy? When time is so much more valuable than money?"
17:40 - "The whole 'your vibe attracts your tribe' thing appeals to every aspect of your life, it appeals to your friendship group. You know, it appeals to your investors that appeals to your customers. It appeals to the people you employ to work with you, it appeals to your partners, right? You have to learn to trust that thing inside that intrinsic guts, action and gut reaction."
19:21 - "You keep saying yes to the wrong opportunities. Life recognizes and goes ugh, he'll just do anything. Let's just keep giving him this. Some really careful because the intention that you put out there is what it is that you're going to get back."
20:57 - "When you have multiple people on the same frequency... you don't lose, you give, but there's no losing. In the sharing, you're merely sharing and you build each other up, y'all share back and forth, and you amplify each other."
22:41- "Law of Reciprocity is one of the greatest laws that you could ever implement into your life and into your business."
26:39 - "The only way you can attract those people into your life is by being bold enough and brave enough to say goodbye to the people that aren't right."
28:14 - "I'm talking about if somebody isn't right for you, not keeping them around just because of the title that was bestowed on them at birth...
... I then married a South African, Indian Muslim, and he instantly had a problem with me, because I've married somebody outside of our faith."
32:53 - "I believe that this concept of toxicity is nonsense. I believe that it is a fad that must die immediately. Because there's nothing I can declare true for you and not declared that same thing true for me. We all can have toxicity inside of us. That doesn't make us toxic people."
35:29 "Definitely align yourself with people who are evenly yoked people on the same frequency with you. So that one day you can wake up with groceries in your damn house. Without you ever asking for it. You get people in your life that are supplying your needs without you even telling them what your needs are.
37:58 - "If you want to get better financially, if you want to get better terms of business, if you want to get better in terms of happiness, if you want to get better in terms of health, surround yourselves with six people who are going to give you the vibrations in order to facilitate that. That's the only secret you need."

Episode Highlights 2:37 - Harry and Terry discuss the power of choice
“Pain is inevitable. Suffering, on the other hand, suffering is optional. Suffering is what you do with that pain.”
5:31 - Terry’s diverse employment background and how he had to choose between following his passion and making his father happy as a young man
“I did that because I know my dad did what he did for me out of love, certainly not out of spite. And I didn't want to hurt him anymore as he was dying.”
11:49 - The events leading up to Terry’s diagnosis, and what became a nine year battle with a rare form of cancer
“We always want to blame somebody for things in life that don't go our way. We never want to take responsibility for our own success and happiness… I didn't blame anybody.”
18:48 - How being part of something bigger keeps Terry mentally strong
“It's not about you, it's about us and us together can do anything we set our minds to.”
22:53 - What Terry is choosing to do with the time he has left
“'When you were born, you cry, and the world rejoiced. Live your life in such a way so that when you die, the world cries and you rejoice.' That's what I'm looking for.”
24:49 - Harry and Terry discuss selfishness and authenticity
“So in those states of selfishness, we are ourselves, but not quite ourselves… What I call ‘not self’ is that space where we get into where we're triggered based off of our fears.”
27:00 - How leaning into our pain and discomfort can help us live true to our purpose
“My pain is going to end someday…. But if we quit, if we give up, if we give in, pain will always be part of our lives.”
32:05 - You only need to take one step at a time to win the day
“What if you got 1% better every day? At the end of 30 days, you're 30% better than when you started.”
35:42 - How doing what you’re called to do can help bring assurance to life (and death)
“The consciousness, the creator, God, whatever…. He's not done with me yet. And when he is, I'm good with that. Because I found my purposes in life, and I live them.”
38:50 - Terry shares the four powerful truths that he lives by.
“Find what your truths are in life, and live those truths.”

This week’s guest, Karolina, is an Alcohol-Free Life Coach & Author who helps women (and men) change their drinking habits and unleash a new level of health and happiness, so they can realize their full potential.
Karolina shares her journey with alcohol, and how questioning her beliefs about drinking have allowed her to chase her biggest dreams. We discuss leaning into curiosity, the impacts of alcohol on our physical and mental well-being, and how we can tap into our potential.
You don’t have to have a “problem” to benefit from this episode, but if you’re at all interested in what life might look like without drinking, or have ever questioned if it’s really serving you, then you won’t want to miss this episode.

Episode Highlights 5:02 - Karolina shares her background with drinking and what caused her to question her relationship with alcohol.
“For some reason, every Sunday morning, I woke up feeling so much shame, I woke up feeling so low, I felt so disappointed in myself, I didn't feel physically well, I felt like all the progress I had made during the week of trying to live this healthy lifestyle was just erased by the weekend.”
10:19 - How curiosity led Karolina to discover new knowledge and frameworks that completely changed how she thought about alcohol.
“And that moment, that moment really also aided my personal growth, because every day I was showing up and smashing my Achilles heel. And this confidence started spilling out into other areas of my life.”
“Even this idea of wanting to just fit in… that had trapped me in so many insecurities for so long.”
14:34 - Looking at the sociological conditioning of alcohol, and what needs it satisfies for us whether we are aware of it or not.
“What happens over time is that we come to believe that our human needs can somehow be met with alcohol. It's very subtle, it's very subconscious.”
17:07 - How Karolina’s own perception and beliefs around drinking, as well as a lack of awareness around alcohol, put her in a dark and isolated place.
“Because I believed I was doing it wrong, I thought I was wrong. I thought that there was something wrong with me. I really internalize that. And I just felt really alone.”
19:03 - Karolina quickly touches on some of the ways alcohol affects the body and brain, and discusses the shift from trying to “do it right” to prioritizing her happiness and self-esteem.
“It almost didn't matter how little I drank, I was still always feeling low. I didn't understand why alcohol is affecting, you know, my mental chemistry the way it did.”
23:03 - How alcohol affects mental health and numbs us from feeling our emotions, and how removing that crutch can help us rediscover our sense of self and purpose.
“It challenged me in so many ways, because like when you're used to having a habit, like alcohol, it's really good at numbing your emotions. And so when you remove it, you have to feel those emotions.”
“How intentional are you about looking at self, so that you can form a deeper more intimate relationship with self, and then from that place of being, choose to create.”
31:24 - Examining the “Why” behind drinking, and how we often need something outside of ourselves in order to feel like we belong.
“Instead of emotionally growing, alcohol emotionally stunts you, and you'll have the same type of insecurities if not compounded because alcohol is telling you even more how you're not good enough on your own.”
34:33 - Choosing to shift into a higher frequency, lean into intuition and become more empowered to live your fullest potential.
“Sometimes we position things like, it's a no in your life or you can't you can't do something anymore. I just hate thinking of it that way. It's really a yes you're saying to something bigger.”

Episode Highlights
4:16 Introduction to our guest, Vernon Brown.
“I have a very special guest, Mr. Vernon Brown. Vernon Brown’s work has touched the lives of hundreds of entrepreneurs who have doubled their business beyond six figures, not at, not right below it, but beyond six figures. Vernon has helped save countless personal relationships in the process. He challenges businesses to think more expansively while maintaining their integrity to increase profits and personal growth. He ties the professional to the personal and helps amplify all of it.”
5:29 Vernon believes that success is not an accident.
“Many times you hear people say phrases like imposter syndrome. They'll question whether their success was just luck, or whether it can happen again. The message I send to my audience is that you have got to make sure that you are so intentional about what your metrics for success are, that you can do it over and over and over and over again, with anything.
6:33 When do you engage and disengage?
“It is important to recognize how someone is feeling before you engage, maybe you need to understand and maybe create some distance. So it's about checking in.”
7:46 What is the Happi Dance?”
“The Happi Dance is all about being excited about the fact that you found a way to connect, you found a way to expand and that's what you are happy about….. And what you have is about building and putting together, you know, your masterpiece, what tools you're given, not what you don't have.”
14:43 Some people believe that a conversation is a confrontation.
“Confrontation pulls people apart and can make them defensive or offensive. Conversation should bring people together. Try to make sure that it's kind and caring, not hurtful and diminishing.”
18:47 Vernon shares his perception about Name-calling.
27:05 Vernon talks about how to handle your own perception.
36:58 Individuality and the feeling of being separate from one another explained.
40:20 Harry talks about Shadow Work.
“Knowing how you operate, knowing your algorithm, and then staying, forming a plan and approach to life around that algorithm is absolutely essential.”
42:42 Vernon presents his new course.
42:00 Closing.

In this week’s episode, we talk with our guest Cordell Jacks, who believes that our ability to work with our dreams is the most overlooked and under-utilized resource we have as a species. He has been studying Dream Work practices and lineages from around the world with some of the most respected and realized teachers for 20 years now. Episode Highlights 4:16 Introduction to our guest, Cordell Jacks
“As you so eloquently introduced, my name is Cordell Jackson, I'm coming to you from Vancouver Island. I'm 41 years old, and the father and husband and I've spent most of my career in social innovation, international development work, in social finance, in ocean plastics, and other big issues that I think have been important to me and some of the big existential issues of our times. Throughout my career, I've spent a lot of time on a personal passion project, which has been dreamwork. Trying to understand that this refers to the places we go to every night, in the two hours that we spend dreaming, and really understand, why?”
4:22 Cordell’s perception of sleep.
"And as I've gone deeper and deeper and learned under many different traditions, and many teachers throughout my life, I've come to realize that a lot of the 1/3 of our life that we spend asleep is not downtime, but really a time for supra consciousness to go beyond our waking minds and to look at our life and our situations from new vantage points, new perspectives, and to really take advantage of those opportunities to give us greater choice.”
13:00 Cordell talks about how understanding ourselves is important
“You know, understanding ourselves is important. And if there's a lot of us and we know this, we know this from psychology, we know this from science, that most of our habits, most of our decisions, beliefs, attitudes, are all subconscious to us. We're making these decisions without conscious awareness, they become habits, they become ways of being. Through Shadow Work and understanding what these triggers are, what are these reactions that we are walking through life with, is really important. I want to know all that's under there, that's part of me.”
15:34 Harry asks Cordell about what dreamwork is all about.
“Dream work is taking the time to honor those places we go to every single night of our lives to try to listen to what's coming through us. And to try and decipher what messages meaning or emotional stirrings, that these visions of the night cause.”
17:32 Cordell discusses the two most important hours of the day and how we utilize those for our benefit.
“Now not all sleep is equal at the start of the night; we go through well throughout the night, we go through 90 minutes sleep cycles, every 90 minutes, we go into a REM cycle, that's the time when our body is paralyzed. As we move to those seven and eight hours of sleep, we're having up to about 20 minute periods of dream time; that's when you're more likely to remember your dreams, why you're more likely to remember your dreams in the morning close to when you wake up. And so these are the two most important hours, those two hours we spend in dream time because, again, they are teaching you what you can't learn while you're awake.”
19:00 The proper way of dream interpretation revealed
“There's a lot of different schools of thought on dream interpretation. And unlike modern day science, there's no right way. There's no one right interpretation of a dream. What I say is, when there's a good dream interpretation, it lets the dreamer see things for themselves that they hadn't otherwise seen. There's an ‘aha’ moment where they all of a sudden transcend their old meaning, and some new meaning comes, some new insight comes to them. And that's good dream interpretation.”
22:29 Dreams are your beautiful inner guidance system
“Your dreams are this beautiful inner guidance system every single night that if you slow down, if you take the time to listen to and if you start just a few minutes, every single day of reflecting on what you were dreaming about. What could that have possibly meant? That has a resonant effect throughout the rest of your waking day as you look for those signs, symbols and triggers and how you might transcend them in your waking life.”
24:38 Harry talks about how he interprets “Love thy neighbor as thyself.”
“This is how I understand the saying, Love thy neighbor as thyself, because for me, I see my neighbor as myself. I see my neighbor as an extension of myself, just another version, another journey. Another traveler on this journey to discover parts of who we are is just another version of myself, but we all come from the collective whole which is called love.”
26:34 How understanding your dreams’ symbology brings conscious awareness
“However you make meaning in your life, whatever that synchronicity starts to show and you start to listen to it starts to flood you with more and more of that symbology, more and more of the things that you can resonate on that you can generate that energy. And again, more and more opportunities to bring conscious awareness to every present moment.”
28:44 Harry talks about how he started looking for people who resonates with him
30:54 Cordell also shares how he transitioned from being a finance guy to becoming a dream coach
39:24 Perspective shifting can help move your reality
40:34 Cordell offers his FREE Seven-day Dream Recall Challenge offered on Facebook

Episode Highlights 0:15 Introduction to our guest, Felicia.
3:19 Felicia’s realization about her life before.
8:01 Felicia shares how she figured out what she wants and how to get it.
9:54 How the word “should” disempowers people.
11:09 The meaning of living SMART.
“See yourself and awaken. Master your emotions. Ask, believe and receive. Relax, relate and release and talk widely.”
“To see yourself is discovering more about who you are. A lot of people do not know who they are… What are your character values? Where do you really excel? Learn more about who you are. Take the time to study ‘you’.”
“You have to tap into what you're feeling. Know the various types of feelings that you can experience. Most people might just be familiar with: happy, sad, mad. Others: bored, jealous, envious, fearful, doubtful. All those different things are feelings. A lot of times, you don't even know what a feeling is. You ask somebody how they feel. They won't give you a feeling word, they'll give you a description of a situation.”
31:22 Harry defines what FEAR is.
“FEAR is false evidence appearing real. We take that false evidence and we use that as the gospel truth.hen we never take the risks that we know we really want to take that are in our heart.”
33:18 What is impostor syndrome?
“Impostor syndrome is those feelings of self-doubt that mean you do not embrace your successes, you disregard them.”

Parenting is hard enough, but it is extremely difficult when your child gets involved in something that affects him/her negatively. With a two-decade career as a licensed chemical dependency counsellor, Richard Capriola shares his informative insight on a growing problem that parents should be concerned about for their children: substance abuse. Knowledge is power and Richard tells us of practical ways and resources that parents can use to help their children who are suffering from substance abuse or protect their children from becoming victims. Plus, we learn of his personal journey and triumph that led him to reach out to people and overcome their drug addictions.
This is a highly educational episode that will help prepare you for a situation that might seem very unlikely to happen, but that is actually more common today than you might think. It’s an episode you don’t want to miss!

Episode Highlights 4:29 Introduction to our guest, Richard.
6:48 Richard’s journey and triumph.
10:33 A guide for parents who are struggling with a child suffering from addiction:
“Learn as much as you can and if you're placed in a situation where you discover your child is using a substance, you have the information; you have a resource like my book that will guide you through this journey.”
17:12 Why Richard sees his work as challenging yet rewarding at the same time.
18:19 Richard’s message to parents who have exhausted every possible resource to address their child’s addiction:
“My message to parents is get a support system around you. This is not something that's going to get resolved in one or two weeks. This is going to be an ongoing process before, during and after treatment. You need and deserve as a parent to have a good support system built around you.”
21:12 Richard’s message to any sibling who just can’t escape from that situation:
“Parents need to have the conversation with that young person, listen to their feelings, listen to how they're sounding, you know, engage in an inquisitive type of conversation… Sit down with that child and do it from an inquiring point of view.”
23:13 The type of facilities Richard recommends where parents can reach out to get support:
“I think they could start, first of all, with NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, that offers a lot of programs and services for families and adolescents, and tremendous support groups. I think it's one of the best programs out there. They could also get referrals for support groups, therapy groups, from their school counsellor, their individual therapist or their individual physician. There's a lot of resources out there; I have a number of them listed in my book on resources. Many of them are national in scope, but a lot of them have local chapters. I would begin probably by looking at mental health associations and mental health support groups within my geographical area.”
25:38 The biggest change that Richard would like to see in the substance abuse field.
29:05 Harry’s insight on the current format of the American education system and the lack of education on mental health and substance abuse.
32:04 Richard’s reminder to parents about various influences surrounding their children:
“There's been a tremendous surge in vaping among adolescents, and parents need to know about that. Three years ago, for example, the percentage of high school seniors that were vaping marijuana was 9%. Today, it's 22%. The percentage that was vaping nicotine three years ago was 18%. It's 34% now.”
38:38 Harry’s key takeaway.

We’re joined by Benjamin Winter, a team building expert and the author of What to Expect When Having Expectations, whose biggest message is that a lot of people have expectations backwards, or at least a misconception of them. Ben shares how compassion helps us to see toxic people from a different angle and how he started his own personal growth journey. He also discusses if being upset is okay. Finally, we also get to know the impactful ripple effects of communication in our relationships with others and the reason we need to start focusing on objective truths. Join our very relatable discussion on this week’s episode.

Episode Highlights 0:19 Episode introduction
2:51 Ben shares his biggest message
3:44 Why being upset is okay
4:50 Is it wrong to have expectations?
“It's not wrong, and it's impossible not to have expectations. My perspective on expectations is that expectations aren't good or bad, positive or negative; they are simply a thing. Most of the time, when an expectation is being met, we don't think about it as an expectation; we don't give it a second thought in general.”
7:01 The importance of awareness training
“It's all about awareness training, because if you become aware that you have this process when you get upset, and that you had an expectation, the faster you are at recognizing the expectation before it goes unmet.”
9:37 How Ben’s way of personal growth is different
12:41 Ben’s view on the phrase “toxic people”
“If we come from a place of compassion, we're going to understand that there's a lot of stuff going on behind the scenes, that they are scared, and frightened, and in pain That's where compassion comes in; we have to understand that they're lashing out because they don't know how else to deal with it.”
15:55 Communication creates compassion creates understanding.
“You have got to come together and talk and listen and communicate with one another. Because if you can communicate with one another, that creates that compassion we were talking about that creates understanding. You're able to come to a common ground and negotiate, and maybe both expectations can fully be realized, without missing anything with one another.”
21:09 Our subconscious actions and projected hypothesis
“This is our subconscious saying this is how the world works. So that if you come across anything that contradicts your subconscious, there is now an internal fight within your brain that says, ‘This isn't okay - something's wrong.’”
27:44 Ben’s own personal growth journey
31:34 Harry and Ben discuss expanded awareness, subjective and object truths.
“And that is, I think, one of our biggest issues with society today. Let's stop fighting about subjective truths. Let's start focusing on objective truths, get on the same field, figure out the same goal and then decide if it's true or not…”

Episode Highlights
4:16 Introduction to our guest, Rebecca Lowrie
“I've worked with every gender, I've worked with every relationship, worship configuration, couples and throuples. But a few years ago it became very evident that my speciality, my zone of genius if you will, was working with men and helping them to explore, heal, expand and discover who they really are as sexual beings.”
5:52 What is sexual alchemy?
11:22 Rebecca’s journey into men’s sexuality
“We kind of know intuitively that there's something very special about sexuality, but the men I work with, they can't quite get there. They haven't figured out what it is yet.”
18:00 Harry asks Rebecca about what she senses in him
24:17 Rebecca’s views on healing, belief systems and a client case study
“I believe there's a bigger picture that we can't see. That we are here having this human experience, but we aren't just human, or soul or spirit or intelligence, there's a bigger picture.”
26:46 A parable of being non-judgmental of human experiences
30:50 Rebecca shares the story of The Afterlife of Billy Fingers
“I did a workshop of his a few years ago. He took, I am not kidding you, six hours to overlap every science known to man to prove that the universal definition of love is equal amounts of challenge and support. He said if you have too much support, you become juvenile and you can't grow and be in your life.”
33:53 Why pain is also an opportunity
38:38 Harry’s candid thoughts and Rebecca’s ideas on them
41:28 Where to find Rebecca

This week’s guest, Sam "The Miracle Man" Shelley truly knows suffering. On this episode, we discuss the physical trauma he experienced at an early age, the mental trauma that followed, and an onslaught of other challenges, including being diagnosed with MS at age 37 and losing the ability to walk. Despite all of this, Sam developed a simple practice that allowed him not only to get rid of the “head trash” that plagued him, but heal himself completely. Sam’s message is that you are perfect as you are, and that all it takes for you to heal yourself is to stop believing your mind.

00:07:09 - The biggest misconceptions around energy work

00:12:20 - The science behind gratitude

Highlights: 10:35 - What is self-actualization?
“For me, self actualization is actually coming full circle back to purity, back to self love, coming back and going... I'm very happy with who I am. I've actually achieved what I have set out to do. So it can be different for everyone.”
14:05 - Why clarification is so important
“It's only when we do start to talk and have dialogues and ask questions that then we can go, ‘Oh, yeah, I can actually see where you're coming from’ and then have more peace with each other and ourselves, and not react.”
16:26 - How are our beliefs created, and how do they dictate our life choices?
“When we internalize, that becomes our belief system, we actually take on other people's expectations, or structural paradigms, that really then tell us from the subconscious out, what we can and can't do, or should or shouldn't do.”
21:35 - Forgiveness and breaking generational cycles
“No one leaves childhood unscathed… And so why should we forgive the other? Because they only did it to us out of their own ignorance. And by hurting us, they don't realize that they hurt themselves in the same process.”
25:57 - What is the value of healing and transforming limiting beliefs?
“When we untangle and free up these limiting beliefs and turn around going, ‘Okay, I can actually do this’, it feels lighter, it feels freer, and we're more able to do what we want to do. And we have less negative emotions attached to things. So we raise our vibration, we actually feel happier, we feel more content.”
33:21 - Simple strategies to help shift away from limiting beliefs
“Everything really is just is, it's only when we judge it and label it as good or bad that it is so. So it's, having self awareness... and being mindful, being present, asking good quality questions, being very compassionate to yourself.”
40:37 - What is the “ultimate goal”?
“Who do you want to be known for, as in your legacy? Not a goal as such, as in to achieve a thing. But it's a character that you want to be. It should be the goal.”
45:53 The danger of separation
“It's easy for most people to dismiss their role, their part as if they're not a part of society, you know. But the problem is that we're cruel to ourselves, we hate ourselves, you know, we tear apart ourselves, and then that is projected outward to the other.”
54:31 - How Leah stays Living In Truth
“My mission is really to help give people permission to be themselves too. And that’s something I had to learn.”

12:01 - Overcoming self-judgement
“There were times when I was doing my recovery work, that I would go to church and I would hug people so I would get a hug. And other times I felt like if somebody came up behind me and said boo, that I'd crumble like Humpty Dumpty, you know, it was a tough process.”
14:39 - What is a behavioral scientist?
16:43 - Finding meaning at any age

Highlights:
00:52 - Welcome & Introduction
07:11 - How “The Bucket List Guy” came to be
10:53 - Living in your truth
"If you can create time flow and cash flow out of your vehicle, which is what business is, which is what our job is, and you're living your values and you're of service to other people... I think that's the holy grail."
13:56 - Being in alignment with our values
"Your level of fulfillment and higher emotions is based on how closely in alignment you are with your values. The closer you are, the more authentic that you're being in that space... you have now tapped into your internal flame. Now you no longer need the outside validation."
15:59 - The positive psychology movement
"... it concentrates on what a person's strengths weaknesses are, what lights them up, what gives them meaning, purpose, and fulfillment and more gratitude and getting people to do more and incorporate more of that into their work and their life. And that is the cure to mental health right there."
18:20 - Every thought, word and deed
"Because when you do what's important to you the most, now you have this fulfillment, and now this flame is lit up and as you go interact with other people out in the world, your very presence gives others the courage to do the same thing and become lit for life. So we not only do it for ourselves, we do it for the brother for the sister for the next person beside us."
21:21 - Reverse engineering your life
"More importantly, Harry... it's about the person that exists on the other side and that's the person we don't know yet. People are dying at 40 and being buried at 80. You know, this is not about a midlife crisis, it's kind of like a midlife awakening for most people."
26:38 - Write s*** down!
"At the end of the day, get your bucket list out of your head and onto paper. It's funny how the universe God, whoever you want to speak to, finds a way to make this stuff happen."
34:14 - Why we need to find meaning in our lives
"It's about the mindset. It's about uncovering those values, but it's also about taking action."
35:56 - Getting out of your own way
"There's a difference between merely existing, and actually living and many of us, unfortunately, spend our entire lives trying to meet these obligations. Earning a living is not a living, that's a slow dying... life is much more than earning a living, you've come here to have a full human experience."
39:21 - Are you truly living?
"There's always a choice. Anything not growing is dead. And so we should be growing until the day that we die."
43:28 - Be the example
"You would never give your your kids advice to not take a risk while they still can... so what the ** are you doing?"
48:35 - A quick recap of The Top 5 Regrets of the Dying
“Give yourself permission to be happier. Design happiness, intentionally design and be purposeful about putting happiness into your life more, both into your work and into your life.”
51:04 - Happiness, fulfillment and peace
“I think peace is... the lack of cognitive dissonance, its alignments, it's being congruent with your values. That's where it comes from.”

Oh My Health... There is HOPE! Podcast

Episode Highlights [06:42] Jana’s near-death experience that changed her life and how she sees messaging
“I realized how powerful my journey was. And if I could just find the strength and get past that fear of sharing something so intimate of mine, like something I had to experience, with the world. I could change things.”
[10:22] Having the courage to lean into our discomfort
“... the discomfort that is in that space of not knowing, the discomfort that exists and what is called liminal space, where you know that you have to let go of who you think you are in order to become wherever you may be. That takes courage. And that takes audacity… it's definitely not a journey for the faint of heart.”
[12:06] The secret? You just need to get out of your way!
“If you want to make a change in the world, and you want to draw those people in, you have to get out of your way. Meaning don't tell yourself I can't.”
[15:08] The best things in life are birthed out of our struggle
“It took me being on my deathbed. It took stripping me from everything that I thought was important, to knowing that I have this moment to make a change, and I'm not going to miss it. I'm not going to let it slip by.”
[18:57] It’s all mindset, and our mindset is based on our experiences
“Understand that the mind makes a projected hypothesis, based off of things that you have experienced in the past, and based off of these things... it formed conclusions about you. And also you develop a sort of code of behavior that was not inherent to you, but that you've inherited out of pain and fear.”
[24:51] How Jana stays LIT (Living In Truth) within her personal brand & mission
“And so my mission, putting it in living in my truth, I speak my voice now, I get out there, and I not only share my stories, I give people the strength to start sharing theirs, and creating a change in the world.”
[26:17] The power of looking at our shadow & facing our fears to understand who we truly are
“And so we lean into that discomfort of dealing with that which we are terrified to deal with, and have been avoiding for most of our lives. And when we do… when we stare dead at our so-called shame, we realize that that is the complete opposite of who we are.”
[33:09] How we pass our baggage (and fears) onto our children... and pets?
“And we don't do it intentionally. So it's not your fault. But it is your fault if you aren't trying to make yourself write better in that situation. If you're not working on doing better, being better, releasing those fears, showing up in a different way.”
[36:44] Breaking intergenerational trauma
“It's not about shaming. It's about being aware, awareness is key. Ignorance and freedom can’t coexist.”
[39:40] It all starts with with us - how to reset your mindset
“It sounds simple, but thoughts become things... I'm still alive because of the power of thought, not medicine, nothing could help me… the thoughts you put in your head become reality.”
“80% of it is mindset, 20% of strategy, but the people who are living in fear spend 80% on strategy, never change their mindset and they don't quite get there… don't get caught up in strategy because once you get your mind right, everything will fall into place. ”
[44:43] Freedom from F.E.A.R
"That's the code for rapid manifestation. All you have to do from that point forward is continue to live and move in your truth. If you continue to do that, I assure you, if you don't give up whatever it is that you're seeking to experience and desire. It's there. It's yours, it will be yours.”

Harry sits down with mental health advocate & CEO of Delight Cafe CBD, Brandon Croucher, to discuss his struggles with anxiety, how his experiences fueled his passion to help others find balance, and how he stays living in his truth. From cannabinoids and PTSD, to finding your spark, this episode is nothing but raw and inspiring.

Highlights from the episode: 4:58 - Finding your spark
“And how do I change that in my mindset, it's by being able to see that my spark really was different. And my fire is going to burn and it's going to make it my goal to set the world on fire.”
6:07 - Why we need new leadership & representation
“People are tired of the leadership that's out there. We need new leadership, we need new representation. And we need people that know who they are, not filling their pocketbooks, but filling up the people.”
7:35 - Stumbling forward
“Your shame, that you carry, that we all carry… is not a representation of who you are, it represents who you are not, that is a false image of who you are. It's just that whatever you stare at becomes a reality. And so when you stare at your shame for so long, you confuse it with you because the mind attaches your identity to whatever you stare at long enough assuming that you know what is healthiest for you...”
10:02 - Brandon’s mission
"I want to create a positive impact in the world with my new CBD company to help those [with] depression, anxiety, and bipolarism."
10:21 - Brandon’s struggle with anxiety growing up and where he got his spark
“I'm not your typical kid. And so when my mom went and started getting me into schools and stuff at third grade, I'm the kid that couldn't sit still. And they hated me… I can't sit still in a classroom. I can't sit there and have a teacher talk down to me, not with me, because I have to understand what we're talking about. And if I don't understand, I'll ask a question.”
14:03 - Why CDB products? Why Delight Cafe? What makes their products different from everything else on the market right now?
16:43 - How does CBD help bring out the “delight” in us? How does it help us find ourselves?
“Right now we are in a war, we are at spiritual war. We are at mental war, we’re at emotional war, where we are letting our emotions overtake what is going on because of what the TV the news, no matter what channel you watch is telling you. We're waking up and picking up our phone first thing and comparing ourselves to everybody else by going on social media without realizing it, which is screwing up who we are mentally, we are not finding ourselves.”
19:05 - Why is it our default to connect through negativity?
22:49 - What is the difference between CBD and cannabis?
25:39 - Cannabinoids: What is CBN and how does it help with sleep?
29:13 - CBG & PTSD
“CBG is literally being shown left and right to help with PTSD and calming people and bringing them back to themselves faster than any other medicine out there. CBN is being shown to help people fall asleep.”
34:26 - What inspired Delight Cafe?
36:02 - How Brandon remains Living in Truth
“And the thing was, while anger, anxiety, they provide energy for us in different ways... I didn't want to keep pushing myself into that one, because anger is just like running into a wall. Why am I going to keep running into a wall and pushing myself into a direction that I don't feel good from afterwards... So how do I switch this, I started rebalancing my life by starting by calming myself, I didn't let anybody around me get me mad. I didn't let anybody around me influence me.”
39:07 - Authenticity & universal truths
43:23 - Why we need to look at our “shadow”
46:57 The power of knowing ourselves
“The faith that I'm talking about is faith in yourself. We don't have any faith in ourselves, we doubt ourselves and ... We need people to display the perfection that we seek, but believe we will never have and it's true. You never will be perfect, but you are perfect imperfection. The goal is not to be perfect. The goal here is to discover who you are. That's your truth.”
49:34 Boundaries vs. governance
52:40 Brandon’s goals & vision
“I want to go to that next level where we evolve, we grow, we keep getting better, seeing the future together, we're not seeing the future is us versus them.”

On the Season 1 Premiere of "Is That SOO?", we have retired physician and healthcare whistleblower, Robert Yoho. He's a #1 Amazon Best Seller for Holistic Health, and author of Butchered By Healthcare and Hormone Secrets. Robert believes that by sharing his research and educating people about the realities of the industry, they will become more aware of the powerful, dollar-fueled machine that is the pharmaceutical industry.
Listen as we dive into medical corruption, the dangers of pharmaceuticals, chronic disease, cosmetic surgery and more...
"I just want to tell the truth... And I think the only possible improvement in this industry is to get everybody more aware of it. These healthcare lobbyists send to Congress, more than the sum of oil and natural gas, the military and banking all together, and the body has everything it needs to heal itself."
"... because we don't know what tomorrow will bring, we have to choose today to operate in the space of authenticity, or to operate within our truth, because that's the only time we have any true experience of fulfillment and higher emotions. The mind is concerned with you merely existing."
"And so the other thing is, large numbers and small differences, right? When you see something that's controversial, what you should realize is that it probably is absolutely untrue."

Stumbling Forward In this off-season mini-series, I've invited my sister on, Theia Marie, to dialogue about the skillful practice of stumbling forward. Even when we stumble there is room for Gratitude. Why? Because even when we stumble, we still stumble forward. In this off-season 3-part series, we break down important ingredients needed to make the most of any challenge. Stumbling Forward is about leaning into your discomfort and choosing to face your fears, knowing freedom is on the other side.
Step 1: Nikes. You got to have you a fresh pair of Nikes to get [expletive] done. NOC: “And again, remember my analogy of having my foot growing and expanding and me thinking that something is wrong . . . thinking that I had planar fasciitis . . . when in reality, my foot had outgrown the size of my shoe. I just needed a bigger shoe. Sometimes all you need is just bigger minded people around you.”
Step #2: Express gratitude for having a ‘sketchy’ memory, as it pertains to perceived failures Theia Marie: “I think having a bad memory can help because there's something that you just don't need to rehearse in your mind. There’s no need to continue to think about a bad decision or a bad time. How can that be fruitful? How can that help you in any way? . . . I think that having a bad memory and forgetting about some things, and some people will actually, produce the results that you're wanting to have versus what you're experiencing.”
Step #3: A strong heart full of determination and faith in oneself “Not all wins feel good. Much of your life will be growing pains and not growing pleasures. Once you realize that, once you realize that life consists of mostly waves, instead of calm waters, you can grab yourself a [expletive] surfboard and have some fun. . .You got to have a strong heart. Faith is not belief in what we do see but acceptance of the unseen. . . you are a mini-Creator, in that, You Create Your Existence . . .”

On this special episode of The Late Night "Is That SOO?" Show, I've invited my father on. We live in an era where we keep relevant and meaningful dialogues behind closed doors for concern of what others may think. That fear keeps us from accessing our most authentic Self. Also, it's important to have an authentic father and son dialogue to combat the negative image portrayed too often of AA fathers being absent and/or negligent.

[00:52] An Outlier's Perspective on "What are Boundaries"
When I think about boundaries, I think about a property line. That's all a boundary is a boundary allows you to clearly distinguish which territory belongs to you versus where belongs to somebody else. That's what a boundary is it distinguishes and establishes your territory versus someone else's. The reason why that's important is because when it comes down to moving boundaries, I've never seen anybody move a property line before. . . .
[03:42] Mrs Robertson on Maternal Mental Health
My passion is social justice, first and foremost, and maternal mental health. So all of this excusing maternal overall maternal health, with an emphasis on maternal mental health. So you know, this is all intertwined. My passion is healthy moms, healthy black moms, healthy babies. And in order to have healthy moms and healthy babies, and especially healthy black moms and healthy babies, we have to have a healthy state of mental health. . . .
[8:15] How Does Racism Manifests
How does racism manifest itself? Because, we're talking about institutional racism and what it's doing to African American, women's maternal health, but how does it manifest itself? You know, what does it look like? Sure, it looks like a myriad of things? So from a systems level, you look at the social determinants of health. And I know, you're familiar with the social and political determinants of health. So the systems and structures that we have, as black women have to interact with on a daily basis just to survive. . . .
[12:44] Adverse Childhood Experiences and Maternal Health
There are parents who have had much more adverse experiences with their pregnancies and with the outcomes of their children after birth. There are parents who are bereaved parents who are dealing with the actual loss of their child or children, there are people who are dealing with miscarriages of their babies. There are people who are dealing with processing long term abnormalities and with their children, and just trying to find a path of survival for them. . . .
[19:21] How to Advocate For Yourself at the Doctor's Office
How to recognize common ailments that disproportionately impact us as black people, and how to communicate those concerns how to communicate, report that to your doctor. So for example, if you I'll just give an example, as a mom you should be watching out for movement, making sure your baby's continuing to move because babies don't slow down. Once they start moving right they move and they get more active to the extent that they may run out of space. But they're still active. . . .

What Happens When You Choose to Be Your Authentic Self with Daniela E. Ramirez
In this episode, we invited Daniela E. Ramirez, age 22, a senior at Rutgers University new Ark. She majored in psychology with a minor in criminal justice and a mental health advocate.
[5:44] How do you navigate rejection?
No one will tell us on how to navigate rejection. Life is about navigating and sometimes it comes with many ups and downs. As we head towards our goals that we have set in our lives, we could face many obstacles along the way. The best decision we could make is to keep moving forward one step at a time. Always remember rejections are redirection and move on.
[6:54] Self-Compassion
Self-Compassion goes back to being an authentic self. It involves acting the same way towards yourself when you are having a difficult time, fail, or notice something you don’t like about yourself. In addition, self-compassion entails being warm and understanding toward ourselves since we know ourselves better than anybody what will work for us.
[8:04] Mental Health Advocate
An advocate means understanding that even though there’s stigma around mental health. It’s okay to speak about it, to seek help when needed—and just creating a safe space for other people who might be suffering as well. From Daniela’s experience, she was going through mental issues where she had bad anxious thoughts and would react in ways that she didn’t understand therefore she knows what it feels like to have silent battles,
[8:59] What do we do when we have a painful experience?
The best way to cope with painful experiences is to transform how you think about the situation. When you consciously choose to shift your perspective of the situation, you will begin seeing things anew. Then, remove yourself from the situation and take time to calm your emotions and settle your mind.
[11:54] All about Pain
Most of us like to avoid hurt and pain as much as possible. As humans want a painless existence so much that scientists make a living trying to create it. No one wants to suffer but it’s generally accepted that life is pain. Life is pain, and it is inevitable, so embrace it positively. Anyone who strives to have a painless life strives for perfection and guarantees sadness because nothing will ever be perfect.
[17:18] Compass
Daniela can have synchronicities with numbers where she will see a series of numbers or patterns of numbers, and they will show up at times where it's like this is what this means for her at the time. She had experiences where she's stressed, and these numbers will pop up for her. Aside from that, she had courage and faith. Resources:

Liminal Spaces
[1:15]
A liminal space is often uncomfortable and disorienting. It is characterized by uncertainty because you don’t know what’s about to come when you cross the threshold into the new space beyond. You are in this place of emotional limbo where you do not think all the life you could be feeling as low as you know you could feel.
[1:47]
A liminal space is a space between areas. A liminal space is a boundary between two points in time, space, or both.
What is Human Design?
[7:01]
Human Design provides a map for your soul’s unique energy. We all have an aura that extends three feet beyond the physical body and brings that energy to any situation. It provides a snapshot of your unique point so that you can understand the vibes you get to an environment and where you are vulnerable to others.
Manifesting Generators
[11:14]
They are the great multi-taskers of life, interested and passionate in a million things. They move fast and have a lot on the go, but like the Generator, they perform best when something lights up their souls.
The Authority
[13:24]
The authority is how you make decisions. Hannah’s Human design is the authority where she listens to her gut. That was a significant affirmation for her because she always had a strong intuition. It’s like knowing that that’s what she needs to do when she has that gut feeling like it’s always right.
Let go of the Struggles.
[15:11]
Hannah got into this space where she just wanted to quit so bad and stop doing it. She felt like it was a struggle and ready for the next thing, but she doesn’t know what it will be. One of the mentors she follows in the marketing space said that no struggle or hustle will ever compensate for lack of alignment. It validates and illuminates the parts of you that you know to be accurate but haven’t had the words to describe and gives you the confidence to love it all.

The Impact of Internalized Oppression on Relationships with LeKeisha Winters, LCSW
In this episode, we have invited LeKeisha Winters, a Licensed Psychotherapist who has experience with treating mental, behavioral, and emotional disorders. Ms LeKeisha helps patients develop strategies to change behaviors or cope with difficult situations and refer patients to other resources or services, such as support groups or other mental health professionals.
What is internalized oppression?
[4:12]
Internalized oppression is a concept in which an oppressed group comes to use against itself the methods of their oppressor. It occurs when social oppression, such as racism, sexism, ableism, classism, heterosexism, gender, and religious oppression are implanted to benefit any dominant group. When people are targeted, discriminated against, or oppressed over time, they often internalize the myths and misinformation that society communicates about their group.
Connecting internalized oppression to relationships
[5:15]
Internalized oppression creates a barrier and divides people within the same group, so they are not as effective in supporting each other and standing together for change. It can have serious consequences for communities. It holds people back from thinking well of themselves, living entire lives, and standing up against injustice.
Patterns in a generation.
[6:54]
We were molded as children by our parents, religions, peers, and society to "fit in." As a result, we developed beliefs, thoughts, emotions, and behaviors through this pattern that keeps us acting in the ways we were taught to work—not in the ways that make us feel like our authentic selves.
How can we be authentic?
[9:58]
When exploring your Authentic Self, you may feel unsure of how to go about it. You can undergo therapy and try to have a discussion to open your true self. The positive effect of being you is to feel like you are fully alive and present. Yet this requires vulnerability and being authentic means presenting yourself as you are.
Be Authentic
[15:41]
Authenticity is being conscious of who you are and what you stand for and expressing yourself to the world honestly and consistently. Learning to be your true self is an important part of living a fulfilling life and having genuine relationships. Authenticity happens when your words, actions, and behaviors consistently match your core identity.

What is bodywork liberation with Shanquila Q. Sylve
In this episode, we have invited Shanquila Q. Sylve, licensed massage therapist and head massage therapist at One Life Chiropractic. She started as a clinic patient and now strives to give the best therapeutic care possible to others. She is highly skilled at muscular therapy and is always learning new techniques. She is happily married with four children. Q will discuss ways to get rid of stress in the body by introducing the concept/holistic practice of “bodywork liberation”
What is body word liberation?
[07:20]
Bodywork liberation is liberating the body of negative emotion through bodywork and through touch. Another name, somatic therapy, is another terminology, which is just an alternative therapy through touch to relieve someone from PTSD, anxiety, depression, etc.
Unforgiveness manifest in your body
[08:15]
Everybody's body manifests whats inside of us differently. It's typically high strung, angry clients are often hard-to-relax clients. Hard muscle tissue can also be a sign of anger or stress.
Hard Muscles tissue on our body
[09:09]
When you have hard muscle tissue, it means your fascia is getting tight. When that gets hard, it pulls our muscles out of alignment. Therefore, our muscles would not be stiff. They should be pliable. We need our strengths. That's what helps us to move. When the fascia becomes rigid, that causes issues.
What is Trauma?
[11:28]
Trauma is any negative experience that you've had that manifests in your life to date. Unfortunately, a lot of people are unaware that they are even experiencing PTSD or trauma. It could be as simple as a spoken word.
Indication to see a therapist.
[12:52]
Most of the time, it has different forms. Stress can be as simple as tension in the neck and shoulders because you constantly tense your body and hold your shoulders up. Some people don't even know that they haven't experienced trauma, even though it's evident to them that they've gone through something.
How you release stress and trauma
[15:22]
Therapists can help you release stress and trauma in different ways. One way is through ear acupressure. Another is body liberation, which is like pressure massage. Yoni steaming is suitable for anyone who is experienced sexual trauma or has experienced childbirth. And there's also pelvic steaming or vaginal steaming. It's mainly breathing and becoming conscious of your body, what you feel like, your emotions, and living because we are so busy that we ignore our bodies.
[16:30]
Most of us are not in tune with our bodies to know when there is a beginning phase of something. So we're not in touch with our body to feel its pains or whatever's going on or emotions that you're not aware of, because you're too busy to pay any attention to it.

Learning about Imposter Syndrome with Dr. Tiffany Zachery
In this episode, we have invited Dr. Tiffany Zachery, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and board-approved clinical supervisor, with over ten years of experience working with a varied population of clients. She uses her professional skills as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker to help you design success based on living and being your authentic self.
What is imposter syndrome?
[06:07]
American Psychological Association says "an imposter phenomenon occurs among high achievers who cannot internalize and accept their success." They often attribute their accomplishments to looks rather than their ability. They fear that others will eventually amass them as a fraud.
[06:55]
For Tiffany, it's a cultural aspect. There are many things that occur within our life that contribute to the development of Imposter Syndrome. Traumas, in particular, can play a role in influencing its development.
Why people struggle with being authentic?
[09:45]
When we see, hear about, or experience other people being dishonest, phony, or simply withholding the truth, many of us, myself included, become enraged in a self-righteous way. How often do we, on the other hand, do it ourselves? When it comes to authenticity, we can be somewhat hypocritical, wanting it from others all the time but not doing and being authentic ourselves.
[10:45]
This does not make us "bad" or "wrong," but somewhat human. Most people I know, talk to and work with find authenticity difficult. The more we can connect with our own struggle with authenticity, the more capable and motivated we will be to overcome whatever is preventing us from being genuine.
How our mind begins to internalize things?
[13:19]
The rules that you've been indoctrinated with are not what is INHERENTLY YOU, and that is not your fault. You are creating your life so if you can't work any spaces where you feel less than or you have to question your identity, do something else. No one is more than you, nobody. No one needs to give you permission to be you. Just be confident in who you are as a man or woman.
Why can't authenticity in professional title coexist?
[15:05]
It goes back to identity. We need identity development. But there's a thing like what you are a part of doesn't coincide with your business. You don't look like what you are supposed to be doing today.
