This series consists on conversations with everyone involved in the making of the International Sport Management programme, including teachers, current students and alumni. We focus on their individual stories and contribution within ISPM, but also on their impact in the world of sports.

First year ISPM student, Lennart Wedekind, has a chat with participants of the EASM Summer School, in which he attended with fellow classmates Reka Fai and Antonia Meyer-Piening. In this episode he talks with professor Osmo Laitila of JAMK University of Applied Sciences in Jyväskylä, Finland, and two of his students, Kalle Wallin and Linda Vekka.

We continue with our ‘best of’ series on the topic of esports with guest speakers that contributed to the Global Issues in Football Management minor this year. This second episode focuses on the work of LDN UTD (London United) and the House of Esports.
During the Global Issues in Football Management minor, ISPM welcomed a host of guest speakers from the esports and gaming industry to talk to the students. Now, ISPM Talks is making a ‘best of’ from those presentations in a series of episodes. The first explores the work done at the H20 esports campus and at Team Gullit.
Sebastian Waring is currently a 3rd year ISPM student. Last year, during Qualitative research class, he produced a podcast discussing inequality in sports from the perspective of race and gender. Sebastian interviewed his sister Micah Waring, a former student athlete about her experiences as a young athletes facing limitations that had nothing to do with her ability to play.
Fernando is a new teacher in the ISPM programme and he brings from Spain to the Netherlands a vast experience in the studies of sports within a context of culture and media.
Social scientist and former American soccer player for the national team, Jules is one of the strongest voices raising the serious social issues associated with the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo. With questions prepared by the ISPM students, Jules brought light to the important discussion of changes needed in the organization and hosting of sport mega-events.

Austrian professor Robert Kaspar is part of the ISPM programme since its conception in 2016. He brings to the class environment his experiences with international sporting events, from the Special Olympics to Olympic bids.
Lina Hallensleben is a 2nd year ISPM student. As part of Qualitative research assessment, she produced a podcast interviewing Paulina Fritz, founder of the Basketacademy. Paulina, an IOC Young Leader, has just finished her masters degree in Sport and Olympic Studies, in Japan, and is herself a game changer.
She played cricket internationally for the Netherlands, winning important titles. She started a women's team her university in South Africa, and a scholarship. After retiring as a player, Helmien suddenly found herself in academia. And lucky for us! Check out her journey in this episode.
Jake is part of the first cohort of students of ISPM. He graduated in 2020 and finished off his academic journey with us having his thesis chosen as the best within the Faculty. He worked on creating a customer journey for the Dutch basketball team Heroes Den Bosch.
