Dr. Jan M. Foster teaches primarily Anatomy and Physiology I and II, Human Biology, Histology, and Advanced Physiology in the Biology Department at NGU. She earned her bachelor's degree in biology from Erskine College and her doctorate in biomedical sciences from the Medical College of Georgia, focusing on protein regulation in renal and cardiovascular physiology. She serves on numerous university committees and mentors students in undergraduate research projects using the soil nematode C. elegans.
Dr. Donny Mathis earned his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Kentucky and obtained a Master of Divinity in higher education and Doctor of Philosophy in New Testament language, literature, and theology from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Prior to teaching at NGU, he taught at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Student Led Renewal is a week long event in which NGU students led every aspect of chapel, including the preaching.

Dr. Bruce Frank, Lead Pastor of Biltmore Church, is committed to communicating God’s Word clearly and with application to today’s culture. Bruce, with his wife, Lori, and family, moved to Asheville, North Carolina, from Humble, Texas in August 2008 to join the Biltmore Family. They have two sons, Conner and Tyler, and daughter-in-law, Carissa.
Bruce was born in Atlanta, Georgia, but grew up in Oklahoma and Texas. He became a follower of Christ at the age of 17 through the influence of his three brothers. Bruce earned his undergraduate degree in Finance from Texas Tech University, his M.Div. from Southwestern Seminary and his D.Min. from Luther Rice Seminary. His hobbies include golf, running and reading. He loves dogs, cats... not so much.
Dan is a teaching pastor at NewSpring Church and has over 20 years of ministry experience traveling the world preaching the Gospel and teaching the Bible. He is a sought-after church and conference speaker who is known for his passion, humor, and insight. He now serves as a Teaching Pastor at NewSpring Church in South Carolina where he and his family enjoy a slower pace and a growing appetite for fried food and college football. Dan and his wife Krista have been married over 20 years and have two children.
Lamont serves as the Assistant Vice President for advancement and alumni development at NGU.
Jody Jennings serves as the Vice President of Campus Ministries and Student Engagement at NGU.
Dr. Gene C. Fant, Jr. is the eighth president of North Greenville University. He is also a leader in Christian higher education and a prolific writer.Since arriving at NGU in June 2017, Fant has prioritized rethinking the university’s organizational chart and encouraged the graduate school to be innovative in imagining new programs. Fant’s other priorities have included strengthening NGU’s academic programs and residential life. Under his leadership, NGU celebrated its 125th anniversary.
Joshua Gilmore serves as the director of Baptist Collegiate Ministries (BCM) at North Greenville University. Gilmore earned both his BA and MA at NGU (Christian Studies - 2005 & Christian Ministry - 2007). Gilmore continued his study at Columbia International University and earned his Educational Specialist degree (Ed.S) in Higher Christian Education in 2016.
LaVelle McCray is the Pastor of Rocky Mount Missionary Baptist Church in Greenville, SC. He also serves as a professor in the Educations Dept. at NGU.

Dr. Jared Thomas is the Associate Vice President of Student Engagement - a position he has held since June 2019. He also serves as a faculty member in the College of Humanities & Sciences. Thomas is originally from Gastonia, NC, and earned his bachelor's degree in Christian Studies from North Greenville in 2009. From NGU, he attended New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. While at NOBTS, he earned a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy and a secondary Master of Theology. He then completed his PhD. in Psychology and Counseling through NOBTS in 2017.
Web Drake serves as the Dean of the College of Communication and the Fine Arts. Drake earned the B.A. in History and Communication from Mississippi College (’92), the M.A. in Speech Communication from the University of North Texas (’96) and the Ph.D. in Communication Studies from Louisiana State University (’04). Before coming to NGU, Drake served as Debate Coach and Department Chair at Union University and as Debate Coach and Director of Theater at Mississippi College.
Freissle is President of Polydeck Screen Corporation with a work force of over 200 employees providing synthetic screen media to the mining industry worldwide. In 1994, he moved from South Africa to Spartanburg, South Carolina to lead the successful growth of the company which was founded by his father.
Peter, along with several other Christian Business leaders, formed His Way At Work to help other businesses learn how to successfully follow-through with Christian Values in the Workplace.
Peter also serves on the Board of Corporate Chaplains of America and is one of the founding Board members of Spartanburg Interfaith Hospitality Network, a ministry helping homeless children and their parents.
Dr. Crouse serves as a professor and Senior Campus pastor at NGU. He joined the NGU team in 1991. Through these years, his heart and fervent mission is to equip the next generation of leaders for Christian ministry. Dr. Crouse has two doctorates from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary with concentrated studies in church missions, evangelism, ministry, theology, leadership, discipleship and campus ministries. He holds a M.Div. from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and a B.S. in psychology from Gardner-Webb University.
Tom Willoughby serves as an assistant professor of Christian Studies at NGU. He earned his B.A. from Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Missouri; an M.A. in Biblical Languages, Th.M., and a Ph.D. in Biblical Studies from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City, Missouri. He has done doctoral research and lectured at Princeton Theological Seminary in Princeton, New Jersey. Prior to teaching at NGU,
Josh Powell is the Senior Pastor at Lake Murray Baptist Church and is currently serving as the President of the South Carolina Baptist Convention for 2020.
Travis Agnew is the Pastor of Rocky Creek Baptist Church in Greenville, SC and an NGU graduate.
