In today's episode I chat with another badass media dude named Eric Jumper. Eric is awesome at what he does and he comes to it with a long standing background in construction. The time I spend behind a welding hood, this guy spent grading road jobs with a dozer or digging some sewer lines with an excavator.
We talk about how expensive children are and how the SouthEast has superior gas station markets.

In today's episode of the podcast I talk with a guy from the Upper Peninsula region of Michigan about what the industry is like out that way. Mack works with his uncle mostly logging pro=ivate jobs for small timberland owners. It was a fun conversation about how different logging is depending on where you're at in the country.
Mack has a big following on social media and we talked about how social media can be a curse and a blessing, depending on how you use it.

He is also driving my favorite lowboy truck of all time, Mike Coop's W900. Jake works for Robert Howell Logging and they are currently looking for some hands. In this episode I chat with Richie Rector who is an independent log trucker from Port Angeles, Washington. Richie grew up riding in this dads truck and eventually learned how to drive from his dad as well. Trucking gets in in your blood and Richie eventually ended up buying his own truck. In this episode I chat with feller buncher operator Ryan Kirkpatrick. Ryan didn't come from a logging family but it's all he wants to do now. We chat about how Ryan got into the seat of a buncher and how he likes it now that he's got a few years of experience. I like to give this dude a hard time but he's getting really good at cutting trees. In this episode we also talk about his doggo, Maverick who will ALWAYS find something for you to throw for him to fetch.

In these bonus segments we will dive into the timber industry from other directions, interviewing folks who are not boots on the ground in the woods every day and folks who may work in industries that support the timber industry. In this episode I talk with Spencer Tuyls about what it's like working in the woods as an equipment operator, running shovel mostly. We get into some of his pet peeves and what he likes about working in the woods. Spencer and I know a lot of the same people so we talk about some of those guys too. In this episode of "The Landing" I chat with Terry Mann with L&L Inc. We chat about cut to length logging, traveling for work and working in a family business. We touch on the rona a bit and threw some politics in towards the end. Terry has probable tasted more beers than anyone else I personally know so we got to chat about beers a bit as well.
Terry also leads a ministry called Fellowship of Christian Loggers. I'm not a religious buff but I enjoy reading passages from the fellowships Facebook page.
