Zak Stein is a philosopher of education and the author of the book Education in a time between worlds. Zak Stein is also a co-founder of the Consilience Project, a new non-profit media organization that aims to help catalyze a cultural movement toward higher-quality sensemaking (https://consilienceproject.org/). We talked about education after covid and the need for decentralized educational hubs, that can serve as metaphorical backup generators and close the education gap in times of crisis such as current pandemics. We are amid a broader paradigm shift from Enlightenment, underpinned by the invention of a printing press, into something new, underpinned by global internet and digital technologies. We discussed the ideas of John Amos Comenius, one of the greatest educators in history, who lived during the turmoil of Thirty Years' War, believed in a civilizing function of education, and inspired modern universal and human-centred education and the Enlightenment institutions such as Royal Society.
We talked with @dukemtambo about testing BTC Lightning wallets Phoenix and Muun and transfers to Coinbase.
We also talked NFTs & crypto credentials and digitally native solution to education by Balaji Srinivasan and his project 1729.com
We talked with @dukemtambo about bold visions for Kenyan startup cities, like Diaspora University Town or Konza Technopolis, about my first coffee bought with BTC thanks to Coinbase Card in the EU, and how these fintechs could work well with Kenyan M-Pesa banking.
