Hello chess fans, do you still remember my last chess problem?

Somewhat belated I would like to present you its solution (including the most critical variations) in the form of a 3Speak video.

I would be curious to know if you like to watch the solutions of my chess riddles as videos like this one or instead of that prefer to read the different variations?

Just look at the moves 25. ... Be7 and 26. ... Bf1.

You may ask now why I created a chess problem instead of just presenting the blitz chess game? The reason is simple: in that game 25. ... Be7!? and 26. ... Bf1!? were really creative, nice moves leading to a win, but there were faster ways to enforce a checkmate.

It was really difficult to change the position in a way that made these moves the only solution without any tantamount side variations.

Anyway, it's a nice example were playing real games and creating chess compositions lead to synergy effects: interesting ideas and motives which appear in chess games can be used when inventing chess problems, while my playing skills benefit from the creativity which is necessary to create tricky riddles.

Hi chess lovers, this is my first 3Speak chess video, and I really hope you like the eight presented lightning chess games!

The shared motif of all eight games is that in each I managed to trap the opponent's queen. I think it's really amazing to observe how even very strong chess players way too often overrate a material advantage over piece activity, mobility and dangerous attacking chances (while letting their queens being trapped is just one example of many others).

I'm bound to say that I am not at all accustomed to talk while analyzing chess games, especially as English isn't my mother tongue ... Nevertheless, I hope my comments are understandable enough for you to benefit from watching the games.

When I came back yesterday in the middle of the night (and in pouring rain) from a walk, and still briefly wanted to inspect the house and garden, I witnessed a truly fascinating spectacle:

Two male 'domestic house spiders' (Tegenaria domestica) fought a fierce fight with eyes sparkling white in the light of my mobile phone lamp, until finally both fell out of the spider web into the saucer of a flower pot, where the winner sprinted after the loser before he finally let him go.

As a peculiar detail you can see from about minute one of the video a fourth, very small spider crawling fearlessly from below into the picture.

I accentuated this drama with the driving bass of the song "Children Of Paradise" (Radio Mix) by Klubbingman & Andy Jay Powell, for which I got the kind permission from @andyjaypowell - thanks a lot!

Tip: the video is particularly impressive in full-screen mode with the music loudly turned on (this is sort of a goosebumps mode for arachnophobes). :-)

Als ich gestern, mitten in der Nacht, bei strömendem Regen von einem Spaziergang zurückkam, und noch kurz Haus und Garten inspizieren wollte, wurde ich Zeuge eines wahrlich faszinierenden Schauspiels:

Zwei männliche 'Hauswinkelspinnen' (Tegenaria domestica) lieferten sich mit im Licht meiner Handy-Lampe weiß funkelnden Augen einen erbitterten Kampf, bis schließlich beide aus dem Spinnennetz in den Untersetzer eines Blumentopfs fielen, wo der Sieger dem Verlierer noch hinterher sprintete, bevor er schließlich von ihm abließ.

Als kurioses Detail seht ihr ab ca. Minute eins des Videos eine vierte, sehr kleine Spinne furchtlos von unten ins Bild krabbeln.

Untermalt wird dieses Drama vom treibenden Bass des Songs "Children Of Paradise" (Radio Mix) von Klubbingman & Andy Jay Powell, wofür ich von @andyjaypowell die freundliche Genehmigung erhielt - vielen Dank dafür!

Tipp: Besonders eindrucksvoll wirkt das Video im Vollbildmodus bei laut gestellter Musik (das ist dann sozusagen der Gänsehautmodus für Arachnophobiker). :-)
