The Not The Brightest Sports Podcast: Recent Episodes

notthebrightestsports

The Not The Brightest Sports Podcast is a place where I discuss sports topics, issues, and try to have some fun along the way. I have always loved sports and I've loved talking about them with people. Some episodes will be by myself, where I do a personal deep dive into a specific topic, and some will feature guests that can provide valuable insight and conversation about a wide variety of topics in the sports world. Some episodes are currently on the Not The Brightest Sports YouTube page but I will try to transfer those over to this website at some point. Sit back, relax, and enjoy! Social media for Not The Brightest can be found on Facebook (Not The Brightest) and Instagram (not_the_brightest3).

Hello all! It's been a while! Hope everyone is having a good start to the new year! In this episode, we talk about the mighty Bayern Munich of German Football (soccer). As a Bayern Munich fan, I want them to win. However, for the health of Germany's top football league, the Bundesliga, I want them to lose. This episode will hopefully help me get back into podcasting more regularly. I have some great ideas I want to do and due to the kind generosity of people close to me, I now have better audio equipment to explore these ideas. Also, there is now officially a Patreon Page for this podcast! You can find us at Not The Brightest Sports on Patreon or use this URL here! Thank you for your support! https://www.patreon.com/notthebrightestsports

Hey! It's been quite some time. So for today's episode, I wanted to take a concept in the world of soccer and see how it could benefit some American sports. What is that concept? Loaning players. Sounds odd, but perhaps it's a better idea than you think.

This was mostly just a thought experiment, and I don't believe that sports in America can (and should) implement promotion and relegation systems. However, promotion and relegation would be an answer to a problem many sports fans have: how do we stop teams from tanking?

This started out more structured and then devolved into a rant about what Green Bay can do to handle this situation.

This is a podcast you'll probably enjoy if you're a soccer fan. If not, I advise you maybe listen to another one of my podcasts instead because this is a very soccer-specific issue. Today, I discuss my thoughts on the Super League now that it has subsided for the time being. Take a listen. Hope you all enjoy!

Today's episode was a fun one to research and talk about for sure. It's an age old question that comes with every league and it has been a conversation that always resurfaces when another dynasty is in our midst. What are your thoughts on sports dynasties?

In today's episode of the NTB Sports podcast, I decided to make an episode that's a little closer to home. Today, we examine two former EIU Panthers who have had good college and professional careers in the NFL and discuss one key debate: who is EIU's GOAT? There will probably be an updated version of this episode years down the line when Jimmy retires, but I thought it would be fun to examine the discussion now.

I decided to look into Rugby in the United States and the up-and-coming Major League Rugby competition. And I learned a lot. The sport may be establishing a foothold in the United States and could become a fan favorite. Today, we examine rugby's history in America and also look at the MLR, what it is, can it survive, and so on.

In today's episode (one of the episodes I previously had on Youtube), I have a discussion about a very modern issue in sports: do ESports actually count as sports? Sit back, relax, and enjoy as we examine the question itself, and what it actually means to be a sport.

For the first time on this new platform, I wanted to talk about why you should watch basketball. It's an amazing sport that has so much to offer!
