This Sunday, we will continue our Summer in the Psalms series by taking a look at Psalm 121, read by Basecamp Volunteer Courtney Beach-Pattison. In it, we will discover that despite any circumstance, we can have confidence because we know the Lord is my Helper and my Keeper.

Come on, admit it—we've all had moments when we've questioned our faith, questioned God, or wondered if He truly sees and cares. Those questions often surface when life takes an unexpected turn. The death of a loved one, a cancer diagnosis, conflict around the world, or suffering like the famine in Sudan can all lead us to ask the same question: "God, how can You allow this?"
This Sunday, we're going to explore Psalm 73, read in full by Jail Ministry volunteer, Mark Taylor. In many ways, it's the book of Job in miniature. The psalmist comes within inches of walking away from his faith as he wrestles with doubt, injustice, and the apparent prosperity of the wicked. Yet by the end of the psalm, he finds himself closer to God than ever before.
How did he move from doubt to confidence? From confusion to trust? That's the journey we'll take together this Sunday. And the hope of Psalm 73 is this: if God met the psalmist in the middle of his questions, He can meet us there too.
I hope you'll join us as we discover that even when life doesn't make sense, God is still good, still present, and still worthy of our trust.

When you look around the world, do you become fearful?
When you hear about conflict in the Middle East, political division here at home, or face your own personal struggles in a sin-soaked world, the natural tendency is to become afraid.
This Sunday, we'll be looking at Psalm 46, where the psalmist reminds us that when we trust in the Lord, no matter the headlines, the uncertainty, or the struggles of life, we can have hope.
We start with church member Jeff Sypersma reading Psalm 46. The psalm begins with these powerful words: "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear..." No matter what you are going through or what you are facing in the world or in your personal life, God is your refuge. His presence is a place of safety—a shelter that sustains and protects us.
The psalm concludes with three simple but life-changing reminders:
- Be still.
- Know.
- He is God.

This week, we come to one of the most familiar passages in the Bible—known by both believers and nonbelievers alike. Read by congregation member Dan Dykstra, Psalm 23 is a psalm of comfort, confidence, and hope. As David reflected on his life, he wrote these timeless words about the Lord's faithful care, constant presence, and gracious provision. While they were deeply personal to David, they remain just as true for us today.

This Sunday we enter into our final week of our series on the Holy Spirit. Together we have been studying one of the most mysterious, and often misunderstood, members of the Trinity. In our last week together, we are going to study an aspect of the Holy Spirit that has caused confusion since the moment He landed on the scene: the power of the Holy Spirit.
One of Jesus’ final promises about the Holy Spirit was that we would receive power when He comes upon us. Why then don’t we always feel that power? Scripture gives us clear instructions on how we are to approach the power of the Spirit in our lives with both expectation and discernment. Through studying the words that the Apostle Paul had to two separate churches, we will learn better together how we lean into the power of the Holy Spirit with wisdom and hope.

What does it mean to be led by the Spirit?
We are currently in a series on the Holy Spirit. Last week, we asked the question, Who is the Holy Spirit? We learned that He is the third Person of the Trinity, that we receive Him at salvation, and that He has come to be God's presence with us in the world.
This week, I want to ask another important question: What does it mean to be led by the Spirit? Do you have to speak in tongues to be filled with the Spirit? How does the Holy Spirit guide us in our daily lives?
This week, Paul reminds us that being led by the Spirit has everything to do with living under His influence. Join us this Sunday as we explore what that means and how it shapes the way we live.

It often feels like whenever the Holy Spirit is mentioned, it comes with a mix of controversy and even fear. Our minds can quickly jump to extremes—faith healers, snake handlers, or unfamiliar languages we don’t understand. This week, we’ll start by introducing the Holy Spirit—who He is and what He does. We’ll look at His role within the Trinity, when and how believers receive the Spirit, and why Jesus said His departure and the Spirit’s coming are actually for our good.

Have you ever stopped to consider how long you will live? And in light of that, asked yourself, What do I want to do with the time I’ve been given?
That’s what we’ll be talking about this Sunday as we bring our series, The Rhythms of Rest, to a close.
Together, we’ll look at Psalm 90, written by one of God’s great leaders, Moses. In this psalm, Moses teaches us to count—to number our days and recognize just how brief life really is. But he doesn’t stop there. He challenges us to consider what truly counts, asking what we should give our lives to that will make an eternal difference in the limited time we have.
I want to encourage you to slow down this week and join us on Sunday as we learn to number our days and devote ourselves to what matters most.

This Sunday, Erich Erdman kicks off a brand-new series titled Rhythms of Rest. With summer right around the corner, many of us are looking forward to a slower pace of life — a season that often brings relaxation and rest. Maybe that means spending time on the golf course, fishing or boating with friends, or enjoying s’mores around a campfire as the sun sets.
However, like every year, summer will turn to fall, and fall will give way to winter - YIKES! All this to say, the rest and relaxation summer can offer is great - but like everything else this world has to offer, it’s fleeting.
In this series, we want to intentionally explore the true rest that Jesus Christ offers: how we can receive it, experience it, and live it out daily.

Isn’t it true that, at times, grace just doesn’t seem fair? It doesn’t feel that way so much when we’re receiving grace—but when we’re asked to give it away, that’s when we notice.
We live in a culture where everything is earned. We say, in effect, “there’s no such thing as a free lunch.” You have to work for it. And yet, into this mindset, Jesus steps in and freely extends grace—to you and to me. And if we’re honest, that can feel unsettling.
This Sunday, as we continue our series Amazing Grace, we’ll be talking about Unsettling Grace. Because before the grace of God feels amazing in your life, it often first feels deeply personal—and deeply unsettling.
We’ll explore three reasons why grace can feel this way:
- It isn’t fair.
- It requires humility.
- It’s meant to be shared.

Do you feel that worry, anxiety, and fear are becoming more common in our world? All you have to do is watch the news—or maybe look at some things in your own life—to realize it. Yet the Bible makes it clear that we are told "Do not be afraid" more times than any other command. These were the first words from the angel to the women who found the tomb empty, and they were also the first words of Jesus to His followers after His resurrection.
We're convinced, that because of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus, we do not need to be afraid. And this Sunday, I want to give you three reasons why we do not need to be afraid:
- Our sins have been forgiven.
- We have a reason for living.
- We have the hope of heaven.

We're continuing to prepare for Easter 2026! In this episode, Pastor Jeff and Lydia continue their conversation about The Crimson Thread - this time, through the lens of the New Testament.
It is often said that preparation shapes celebration.
That’s why, this Sunday, we prepare our hearts for what’s to come.
As we ready ourselves to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus, we pause to reflect on what was sacrificed on our behalf—the blood shed by our Savior. As we conclude our Crimson Thread series, we turn to the book of Exodus and the Passover, where we see a foreshadowing of Christ’s sacrifice. On the night when applied blood meant life given, we witness the beginning of what would ultimately lead to our salvation—the death of Jesus, and His blood poured out so that we might have life.
Today, we will sit in reverent remembrance of the Passover—what it established for God’s people and its lasting impact on all who come to know Jesus as Lord and Savior.

Have you ever heard of the word “scapegoat"? In the modern day, it’s a person who’s unfairly blamed for the mistakes of others. Think of a manager who unfairly blames an employee for a company's failure.
Likely all of us, at some point in our lives, have blamed our failures and our mistakes on someone else. And it's likely been to no avail. But wouldn’t it be nice if you could REALLY place all of your failures on someone else? Wouldn’t you love to have a scapegoat for all your failures and mistakes in life?
The good news is... we do. Jesus is our scapegoat. Listen as Pastor Jeff Moes continues in our series “The Crimson Thread.” We will be looking at Leviticus 16 and the Day of Atonement. We will talk about the scapegoat, who symbolically had the sin of the people placed on his head, and how he was taken far away. We will recognize together that Jesus is our ultimate Scapegoat.

As we prepare our hearts for Easter Sunday 2026, Pastor Jeff and Lydia dive into even more scripture about how the shed blood of Jesus Christ was prophesied throughout the Old Testament. This is a great episode to grab a pen and paper and take some notes!
Have you ever wondered if you are good enough, have enough faith, or know enough about the Bible to be acceptable to God? I’m sure we all have at some point. The good news is that the writer of the book of Hebrews actually includes a prostitute in the Hall of Faith. In fact, one scholar argues that she is the most significant figure of faith in all of Hebrews 11.
This week, as we continue in our series “The Crimson Thread,” Pastor Jeff Moes takes a look at Rahab, the prostitute in Joshua 2. Rahab was the one who hid the spies and protected them when the king's men came looking for them. As a reward, Rahab and her family were told that they would be protected from the destruction of Jericho if they placed a “Crimson/Scarlett Cord” outside the window of their home.
This week, we want to look at Rahab’s faith: the simplicity of it, the sufficiency of it, and the legacy it produced for her entire family. Because if Rahab the prostitute can be made acceptable to God by grabbing hold and hiding behind a scarlet cord symbolizing the shed blood of Jesus, then so can you and me.

Have you ever wondered how the Bible fits together? Is there one theme - something that holds it all together - from Genesis to Revelation? I believe there is. Scholars call it the “Crimson Thread”, and it runs from the beginning to the end of the Bible.
For the next 4 weeks leading up to Easter, we will talk about this Crimson Thread. We will be looking at four Old Testament stories that are a part of this Crimson Thread that lead us to Jesus and His redemptive work.
This week, Pastor Jeff Moes will look at the story of Abraham and God’s call on his life to sacrifice his son, Isaac. We will compare the story of Abraham and Isaac with the story of Jesus and see, together, how Jesus became our Substitute. In the Gospel of John, Jesus tells us that we are “truly His disciples if we hold to His teachings,” and together we have been examining what those teachings are. What does it mean to develop a life that follows after Him? What rhythms and practices must I put in place to help me become a better disciple to my Savior?
This episode, as we close out our series, Pastor Lydia Miller takes us back to the very beginning. Because often, when we lean into disciplines, practices, and rhythms of the Christian life, it can be easy to fall back into the idea that these disciplines and practices contribute something to the salvation we receive from our Father. This week, we are going to study the final phrase of the scripture we have looked at each week:
"... and the truth will set you free."
Together, we will discover how we lean into the true freedom we have in the sacrifice of Jesus and the grace of God.

Last Sunday was a wonderful start to our campaign series, FOR the ONE! Pastor Jeff shared why we are doing this campaign and what it truly means to have a “One.” Every believer in Christ has at least one person in their life who doesn’t yet know Jesus—whether that’s a family member, coworker, friend, or neighbor. As followers of Christ, our desire should be for every nonbeliever to experience a personal relationship with Him. Pastor Jeff challenged us to identify our One and begin praying intentionally for them.

We’ll see how four young teenagers were forced to live in Babylon but refused to let Babylon live in them. If Daniel and his friends could live in the world but not be of the world, then we can too!

As you consider your own prayer life, it feels natural to consider the prayers of Jesus. How did He pray? What did He pray for? Because I don’t know about you, but I want to pray like He did!
Did you know Jesus actually prayed specifically for you? He prayed, near the end of His life for future believers. Specifically, He prayed that we would experience unity. He prayed that we would be unified, just as He and the Father are, and went a step further by declaring that this unity would show the world that the Father had sent Him. If the stakes are that high, then it seems unity needs to be something we pray for regularly, too.
This episode, Pastor Lydia Miller unpacks this prayer from Jesus in John 17. We are going to look at its implications for our own prayer lives and the importance of such a prayer for our life as a church, as well.

Well, Jesus gave us instructions for just that! Not only did He will us His peace, but He gave us direction on what (and who) to look towards if we struggle to find it.

Have you ever said, “I’d give anything for a moment of peace”? Of course you have—we all have. Life is busy: packed schedules, bills to pay, houses to clean, kids to shuttle around, and so much more. With everything going on, we all crave a little peace.
The problem is, the world only offers a temporary, surface-level peace. It may help us cope for a while, but it doesn’t last.

God’s Kingdom is a counter cultural, upside down, backwards type of Kingdom. One where the least is greatest, less is more, our enemies are prayed for and our King, He came as a humble Savior, a man who walked as we walked, and took on death so we could experience eternal life with God. There is something great about being invited to the dinner party. The one where everyone goes to be seen and how cool it is that you were invited. When Jesus was around it was a lot like that. People were known and liked or overlooked and rejected based on what party they were invited to and which seat at the table had their name on it. That’s a lot of pressure to know people and be known, but really not that different then today. This talk takes a look at being different. When Jesus came He didn’t call a lot of attention to Himself, He came to serve and not to be served. Unfortunately, we on the other hand often do seek the attention and that struggle is real. In the world we live in holding on to everything that we have and searching for the security of “more” is kind of the norm. We buy into the myths of, “It is all mine,” “I will be happier if I have a little more,” or “I can spend tomorrow’s money to find today’s fulfillment.” In this talk we are taking a look at how God wants us to be generous. Success is often measured by the life quest for greatness. The temptation to spend our lives executing that mission within our realm of reality. We start off with becoming the best student, the best athlete, the best musician, the best son or daughter, working our way up to valedictorian or top of our class, after that we seek out the best job, the best raise, the best house and the best business deal. All in a life pursuit of reaching the top and "making it." But what if God designed it to work differently, instead of fighting for the top we should serve at the bottom, in stead of focusing on "me" we are reaching out to the "we." It is so easy in our day in and day out to want to be first. We want our food fast, our shows on demand, and our shopping delivered to our home. Isn’t it so easy to have a me first mindset? What if I told you God designed things to work differently? Check out this talk and see how God has called us not to sit back and be served, but to look for how we can serve others in both big and small ways.
You may have prayed these words before: "Our father, who art in heaven. Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven." But what exactly does that mean anyway? For God’s kingdom to come to earth? For God’s kingdom to come here, to us? It requires a counter cultural, upside down, backwards type of Kingdom. Because the Kingdom of God… is nothing like this world has ever seen.
Temptation is a reality for all of us, especially when we feel alone in the wilderness. The funny thing about a wilderness is it shows us who we really are and how we will react in day to day situations. It exposes those little things we are trying so desperately to hold on to or even hide from those around us. In this talk we are taking a look at some of the larger temptations we face on a regular basis; pride, pleasure, and power and how we can overcome those temptations in our day to day life.
We don’t always like to take a look back in time and revisit those memories we thought were locked away forever. That time we were the only kid who had braces, or that pimple that haunted our school photo 3 years in a row, or maybe a more serious event that changed the course of our life forever. Whether those memories are good or bad they are moments that have been marked in each of our lives and have made a great impact. What if this wilderness that God has brought you to was not a place to be lost, but rather a place to be found? What if there was purpose not just after this wilderness, but in it? Betrayal can come at us from many directions. It may surprise us from the hand of a stranger, slam us from a coworker, or even worse alter our lives from someone closer than anyone in the world. What happens when that great betrayal comes and suddenly is standing on our doorstep? It takes great faith to be able to forgive a great betrayal. If that hits home with you, this message is for you and will help navigate what humanly none of us have the power to do on our own, forgive.
Sometimes life comes at us fast, things have happened to us or around us that we can’t control and often times don’t understand. In those moments it’s easy to throw the blame on God, question if He cares and even hold a grudge against Him. This message takes a look at the powerful story of Hannah; how her end was better than her beginning, how she worshipped God through some dark moments and even though it looked bleak her waiting wasn’t wasted. This message takes a look at forgiving those little offenses and letting God fill those life gaps with His love.

Too often the guilt we feel from the choices we've made takes us from thinking that "we've done something bad," to "we are bad."
