When life doesn’t go according to plan, what do we truly depend on? In Acts 16, Paul and Silas find themselves beaten, imprisoned and chained — yet in the darkness, they discover a joy and freedom that cannot be taken away. As they worship in the middle of their suffering, God moves in power. But the greatest miracle isn’t the prison doors opening; it’s a heart being transformed as the jailer asks, “What must I do to be saved?”
This passage challenges us to consider what our lives are really built on. When everything around us shakes, only Jesus can be the foundation that holds.

In a world filled with endless information, opinions, and ideas, people are still searching for truth, purpose, and hope. In Acts 17, Paul enters Athens — a city full of thinkers and seekers — and shows us what it looks like to share the Gospel with compassion, wisdom, and courage.
In this message, Joel explores how Paul’s love for people led him to listen, engage, go into the places where people were, and ultimately point them to Jesus.

This week we discover that the Gospel is not “Jesus plus” — Jesus is enough. A message that challenges us to receive grace, remember our own story, and become a church that removes barriers between people and their Saviour.

As we celebrate 181 years of God’s faithfulness at EBC, Joel reminds us that the church is not a museum celebrating what God used to do — it is a living story that God is still writing. Looking at Isaiah 43:18-19, we discover God’s promise: “See, I am doing a new thing!” Even when life feels like a wilderness, God is able to make a way, bring hope, and lead us into a future we cannot yet see.
Whatever your story has been so far, God is not finished. The next chapter may be the most exciting one yet.

This week in our Give Serve Care Campaign series, we explore what it really means to be a people for others. While it’s easy for churches to focus inward, Jesus reminds us in Mark 10:43–45 that true greatness comes through serving.
In this message, we look at why community involvement isn’t just a nice add-on but central to the mission of the church. From Jesus’ example of servant leadership to the early church’s radical compassion, we’re reminded that the church is never more like Jesus than when it rolls up its sleeves and serves the people around it.

What kind of story will your generosity write?
In this message, A People for Others: A Generous Church, we launch our Give, Serve, Care campaign and explore what it means to live out Paul’s words in 1 Timothy 6:18 — “to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share.”
Drawing from Paul’s relationship with Timothy and the challenges of the early church in Ephesus, this sermon invites us to reimagine generosity not as occasional charity, but as a lifestyle of open-handed living, relational sharing, and Kingdom-shaped goodness.
In this sermon, you’ll discover:
Whether you’re exploring faith or have been following Jesus for years, this message will encourage you to live not for yourself, but for others — reflecting the generosity of our God who gave us everything in Christ.

In this second message of our series on the Holy Spirit, Joel teaches from 1 Corinthians 12 on the role of Spiritual Gifts in the life of the church. Paul reminds us that every believer has been given a gift, not for personal recognition, but for the common good. Some gifts are more visible, others are quieter, but all are essential. Joel encourages us to discover and use the gifts God has entrusted to us — always grounded in love, unity, and the authentic work of the Spirit.

Welcome to the start of Growing in Grace.
In this message, Matt shares two powerful stories from the life of Jesus that reveal what makes Christianity truly unique — grace. From the calling of Matthew, a despised tax collector, to the rescue of a woman caught in adultery, we see grace that moves toward the unlikely, sits with the broken, silences shame, and invites us into a new way of living.
If you’ve ever wondered whether Jesus sees you, or whether He could still love you in the middle of your mess — this message is for you.
And yet, this isn’t just about receiving grace — it’s about learning to live it, share it, and extend it in a world desperate for kindness and restoration.

As we approach our 180th anniversary, we take time to reflect on what it truly means to be the Church. This isn’t just about a building or a Sunday routine — it’s about being God’s family, a people shaped by love, hope, and purpose.
In this message, we explore why the Church still matters today, how it exists to meet real needs, and what it means to be the hands and feet of Jesus in a hurting world. We’re reminded that the Church is not perfect, but it is powerful when united — and that division, pride, and disunity are threats we must face with grace and humility.
This is a call to step forward with renewed commitment, to be the Church Jesus prayed for — a place of belonging, mission, and light.

In the summer of 2018, the world watched in awe as a rescue mission unfolded in a flooded cave in Thailand. Twelve boys and their coach were trapped — without food, without light, and seemingly without hope. And yet, against all odds, they were saved. Why did that story resonate so deeply with us? Because we know what it’s like to feel trapped—in fear, in regret, in impossible circumstances.
In part four of our "Same God" series, we turn to one of the Bible’s most iconic rescue stories: the crossing of the Red Sea. The Israelites found themselves stuck — hemmed in by a vast sea ahead and an enemy army behind. But God showed up. He made a way where there was no way.
This message is for anyone who feels overwhelmed, cornered, or unsure of what’s next. The God who rescued then still rescues now.

In this message, we reflect on how God met the Israelites’ needs in the wilderness — not in response to perfect faith, but through their raw cries and complaints. His provision wasn’t just about food; it was a reminder of His presence, compassion, and care.
God still provides today — sometimes through dramatic breakthroughs, often in quiet, daily mercies. Even in seasons of scarcity, He’s shaping our trust and revealing more of Himself. The same God who provided then continues to provide now.

Looking for guidance in life? This week’s message in our Same God series is all about how the God who led His people with a pillar of cloud by day and fire by night is still leading us today. Whether you’re facing big decisions or just longing to know God’s direction, this message explores how He guides us — through Scripture, prayer, wise counsel, the Holy Spirit, and our circumstances.
If you’ve ever wondered, “What does God want me to do?” — you’re not alone. But the good news is: God isn’t hiding. He still speaks, still leads, and still cares deeply about your next step. Watch and discover how to hear His voice and follow His lead with confidence.

This message begins our brand-new series ‘Same God’ — a powerful journey through stories in Scripture that remind us: the God of the Bible is the same God who is at work today.
In Joel’s opening sermon, we explore one of the deepest and most universal needs we all face: the need for healing — physical, emotional, and spiritual. Through the words of James and the healing ministry of Jesus, we're reminded that the God who healed in the past is still healing today. He is not distant or detached. He is still present, still powerful, still full of compassion.
Whether you're wrestling with doubt, carrying pain, or longing for restoration — this message is for you.

Inspired by the encounter between Jesus and Peter, we learn to embrace the new, strengthen our nets, and trust that Jesus is with us in our mission. Take a listen and join us in reaching out and making a difference for God's Kingdom.

When it comes to following Jesus, often we focus on the major events of His life. But in this message, we uncover the heart and motivation behind His actions. Drawing inspiration from one of Dane Ortlund's books, we discover that Jesus describes Himself as "gentle and lowly in heart." Watch as we explore the biblical understanding of these qualities and see how they shape Jesus' relationship with us.
In the book of Acts, we find a story of the Holy Spirit moving among a number of believers, inspiring them to great Christian service. Today, He does the same for us.

Watch the message that Joel, our Lead Pastor, shared with us from Exodus 2:23-25 about how we can find God in our brokenness.
What happens when worship is the last thing we feel like doing? Sometimes, worship is costly. It isn't always exuberant. It happens in our brokenness. But we don't have to be full of joy and excitement to be able to worship. Rather, worship is an affirmation of who God is and that does not change no matter what our situations may be.
We've been learning what it means to be worshippers of God over the past few weeks as we have thought about what worship is and who God is. But how do we worship? Joel, our lead pastor, spoke from John 4:23-24, teaching on how we worship in practice each day.
