Jessy Karam 33. Born and raised in Ottawa Canada. Played Football with my four brothers most my life growing up. Developed Friendships and brotherhoods that will stick with me for life. Its crazy how much like the military being involved in a sports team is like. You have each others backs, you fight with every breath for a cause. Especially in football putting your body through hell. We’ll be brothers for life. My Father was a head coach and role model to so many young adults and kids in this city. His influence and mark he’s left will forever be cherished, and I take pride in that. My Mother was by his side and ours every step of the way. Our house was known to the players as ‘Karamel City’ the infamous corner store house where the coaches wife always had popsicles and protein bars for everyone.
Growing up My family always owned restaurants. I can still remember being a toddler running Around my Dads restaurant; at the time the ‘Green Valley’ on prince of whales just off baseline; Playing with the photocopier in the office. Running through the kitchen the head chef always having two scoops of orange sorbet ready for me. It was my industry of interest from day one. One could say it was in my blood. Worked at my uncle’s ‘Rock and Johnny’s’ when I was 14 as a buss boy. And from there it was nonstop. One job after the other being in bars and restaurants. Began bouncing, serving, bartending, supervising, event hosting, managing, and from there buying in to different establishments. Unfortunately, my father and late grandfather sold their last locations before I had become of age to take over or I know right now they’d be among the places I’d take pride in running. I’ve worked with virtually every establishment in Ottawa for the last 16 years, and its only growing. Currently I’m involved with the wonderful and absolutely amazing Dreammind family and corporation, running the ‘Moscow Tea Room’ 527 Sussex dr. And helping everyday with our charity ‘Operation Ramzieh’ and food drives through our newly established grocery store, the ‘Noor food Market’ 332 Richmond rd. in Westboro.
I know with Covid now things have slowed down for a while but I don’t look at that as a bad thing. Gives us a chance to regroup, focus. Help the community. Feed the hungry. And as we work on coming back, bring back the vibe and love we all got into this business to share. God Bless.

Lianne is someone that I wanted to interview from day one of deciding to do this podcast. She is inspirational and I was fascinated to hear her back story and why she decided to switch from a super succesfull career on tv for so many years to creating her own podcast focused of health and wellness. She discusses how she learnt so much from her own guests and it helped her improve her own life. We discuss how she was head hunted for the numerous position titles she caries at the Ottawa Heart Institute. We cover philanthropy, volunteering, raising money, donating and her vast network of contacts through the years of media related positions she has held.
Health and wellness being paramount to her were topics we covered including the death of her father and making time. Meditiation has been something she added into her life on a daily basis and we go over simple things everyone can do to improve their daily lives. Conkuer Clothing creater and mental health champion Geoff Carty shares the WHY this all came about and his plans for the future and what he hopes to achieve with his donations and public speaking. Geoff has lived the most severe of traumas; every type of abuse imaginable, the death of the love of his life (and my dear friend) Emma, violent unnatural murders, suicides, drug overdoses,etc of his best friends and family and is here to tell the story of how he got out of PTSD, alcoholism, drug abuse and depression to create this clothing line TO HELP OTHERS. It is his mission. This 300lbs pound muscle hulk who looks like life is pretty great is hear to say it ok not to be ok, it is ok to talk abt it and HE IS THERE TO LISTEN. He shares helpful tips that have helped him through dark times that can def help others. Geoff is a friend of over 25 years and its amazing to see where he is today and a blessing for us to hear how and why he got there.
I meet Keisha when she hired me for a paint consultation. Keisha comes from a super talent family which inspired her to become a pretty good DIY decorater. She created custom wall treatments and chose beautifull colours, unfortunately too many for an open space. After we met she told me she was adopted, had a home daycare and was in the process with her husband of adopting more children(she has 1 biological one). During this Covid pandemic and always Keisha is a true expert to give great easy tips which she shares for potty training, picky eaters, nap time, learing tools, etc…
Such an incredible man that has shared his story with the public from start to finish regarding his diagnosis of leukemia to his first bone marrow transplant to chemo therapy, back to round two of leukemia and a second transplant. He has been a vault of information of what helps and lessons he has learnt along the way and wants to share with others living the same or similar things. He doesn’t shy away from uncomfortable convos about his speech being affected by the meds and treatments to the exhaustions. He explain the difference the second time around and what he learnt from the first what to do and not to do. Loved this podcast and his appreciation for everyone who helped him along the way. Look for a lot of shout outs on this one. These people deserve it! WE also get to find out when we can hear him again on Majic 100.
