The Sceptical Jaydon Podcast shares ideas and hosts conversations on scepticism, atheism, irreligion and all things related. It's hosted by Jide 'Jaydon' Adigun, an ex-Christian atheist who aims to challenge religious dogma and promote scepticism and critical thinking in Nigeria.
The doctrine of hellfire is one of the most pernicious ideas taught by Christianity, and several Christians who are doubting their faith are currently held back by their fear of eternal torture in hellfire. In this episode, I lay out a brief history of how my idea on hell changed and some points on why I think hellfire, as conceived by many believers today, is a fanciful figment of mediaeval, unscientific imagination and no one needs to be afraid of such an illogical and immoral idea.
It's the Saturday after Good Friday! Still in the middle of the Easter festivities, I share some of my random thoughts about the idea of the atonement, God's Providence, human sacrifice, inaccuracies about the resurrection, and the sin nature.
There has been a lot of pushback against LGBT+ people in Africa, and it recently peaked in Ghanaian social and traditional media. This is my maiden release on the Sceptical Jaydon podcast. This argument responds to a specific point raised by [some] Christians—that God can do whatever he wants and still be perfectly loving by nature.
