In this solo episode I talk about my own journey with alcohol and weed and how I went about reducing them both, doing 222 days sober and over 150 days sober so far this year. I'm not an addiction specialist and this isn't aimed at those with addictions, but people wanting to take breaks from alcohol or look at reducing their consumption or trying periods of sobriety.

I cover the 5 most important steps you'll need to cut back.

  1. Getting accountable to someone, and investing in yourself and your health.

  2. Making the decision in your head that it's already done and achieved, rather than being uncertain.

  3. Having something to work on and places/people that demand your attention, effort and focus.

  4. Working on areas that will take a hit when you reduce it, such as your social life.

  5. Looking at your social circle and making changes to it.

In today's solo episode I delve into how we can make one simple change to move us closer to our goals. The key to building lasting habits is focusing on creating a new identity around that goal first. Often our current behaviours are just a reflection of our current identity. We don't think we can achieve something because we're not 'sporty' or 'good at cooking'. In today's episode I get into the techniques that help mirror the image of the type of person you believe you can be. To change your behaviour for good, we need to start believing new things about ourselves through identity-based habits.

In today's solo mini episode I get into the topic of the 5 biggest mistakes I see people and clients making when trying to lose weight. From years of experience I've gained a real insight into the common pitfalls and difficult behaviour changes we can all fall prey to when trying to lose weight. I haven’t done an episode like this in a while as I’ve been having a lot of guests on and with the move to Australia it’s been a little tricky with having a set up. I hope you enjoy!

I chat about..

  1. Mistake number One - Why trying to eat healthy is stopping your progress and a better strategy to put in place
  2. Mistake number Two - Setting unrealistic expectations and standards for yourself and how to overcome this
  3. Mistake number Three - Why putting an unrealistic deadline on your weight loss will hamper your progress
  4. Mistake Number Four - Cutting out the foods that you enjoy to make quick progress and why that will come back to bit you
  5. Mistake Number Five - Why you are tracking your progress incorrectly (or not tracking it at all) and how that is impacting your feelings of progress

In this episode I have David Kelly on to talk about his training and how much of an impact making fitness part of lifestyle has had on life and health over the years. He is 70 years of age and talks about why you shouldn't let age be an excuse, but a reason to priories your heath, stay active and eat a well balanced diet. He's also in the process of starting a new business which is more to the point of why age is really just a number.

He is feeling better than he felt at 50 with no signs of stopping or slowing down. I met David in Marbella and thought found him inspirational, so I'm sure you will too. What a legend !

David's brother is a well known physio in Ireland "The great AK sports physio" Alan Kelly and we touch on his incredible journey battling 4 types of cancers and how he overcame such adversity. Unbelievable stuff

If you enjoyed this, let me know or give it a share I so appreciate it! Thanks again for tuning in.

Welcome back to the podcast or if it's your first time here then welcome! Either way Fáilte!

In this episode I talk all about meal plans and why I believe they don't work for long term or sustainable weight and fat loss. I look at the pros and cons of using one and explain my reasoning behind why I think they do or do not work.  I have followed meal plans myself in the past and designed them for clients too, but in doing so have learnt so much from them.

Meal plans are still as prevalent as ever which is why I felt it was important to touch on this topic. Please let me know if you found it helpful or found value in it as all feedback is welcome and helps me make this podcast even better.

Speak soon,

Eanna

I had the pleasure of having my long term client Sarah on the podcast recently where we talk about her journey.

Where she started, wondering if "this is how life will be?"

What mistakes she made in the past.

What she's learned after a year and a half of coaching and working on herself

And how she's let go of a restrictive mindset around food to lead her to the happiest she's ever felt.

I got a lot of value from this and I'm sure you will too!
